Reuse windows 7 cd and key on a new laptop when the other broke?

Hello

I have a windows 7 cd that I bought a few years ago. The laptop, it is installed on is broken (graphics card is broken on my hp so the screen is blank). I'm going to buy a new laptop, but its less expensive with no os cannot use the cd and on the new key.

Thank you

If its a version upgrade of Windows 7, you cannot use it, because you will need to have a qualifying earlier version of Windows to be able to use the version upgrade (Windows XP or Vista).

If it's a commercial version full, then you can use and reactivate by phone:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

(2) press the ENTER"" key.

(3) select your "country" in the list.

(4) choose the option "activate phone".

(5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

(6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

If your computer comes with a qualifying previous license such as Windows Vista or Windows XP and the certificate of authenticity is still attached to the machine in good condition, then the COST is reason enough to represent the compliance to the software license agreement. No previous required software installation, which means you can do a clean install with Windows 7 Upgrade disk.

How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

Click Install now

Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

Click new

Click on apply

Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

Enter the product key

Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent

They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

  • 64-bit Windows 7 mouse freezes / stuttering several times per minute, when the network activity is high

    Hi all
I recently bought a new computer Packard Bell with a Windows 7 OEM who have a problem with the mouse and keyboard. I've been in contact with the manufacturer, but they are also confused that I have on this issue. After looking in many discussions about the problems of the mouse in windows 7, I found that there are many who have this problem but there is no consistency in the HW configuration, i.e. it seems more a problem with the OS.
I really like the machine and Windows 7, but I have a nagging issue with frequent 1-2 second freeze/stuttering of the mouse during the 'high' network activity (e.g. streaming a YouTube video). During my research, I met at least 4 people who who call network activity affect the behavior of the mouse.
Sometimes the keyboard or the mouse becomes completely insensitive and the system must be restarted. However, on these occasions, the rest of the system is not affected - for example Skype and other programs to continue to operate without glitch or lag.
To try to solve this problem, I did the following (with no effect on the problem):
-Updated all the drivers to the latest.
-J' tried different version of the mouse drivers (most recent running now).
-Tried different versions of the network driver (latest running now).
-Change keyboard and mouse to the PS2 came with the computer.
-Set the system to 'high performance '.
    -Changed for USB mouse
-J' tried various Bios settings 'mode of power/suspend' (proposed in solution in another thread)
One thing that has had a strange effect on the problem was:
-Seen the PS2 and USB mouse is touching one when the other freezes / stuttering will immediately resolve stuttering gel.
    I have studied/noted:
-There has never been a 'error box"popping up in Windows when this happens.
-In the event viewer I see warnings from "i8042prt" regarding (remember, thie is translated from Swedish :) 'The device sent an incorrect response, once the keyboard has been reset' (this is what I found, if you need more information please ask but provide what to look for and where)
My system has the following specifications:
Operating system: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
    Versions: 6.1.7600 build 7600
    Manufacturer: Packard Bell
    Computer model: ipower G3720
    Computer type: PC x 64
Processor: Intel Core i7 CPU 860 to 2.80 GHz, Mhz, 4 core, 8 logical processors 2801
Date and - version of BIOS American Megatrends Inc. P01 - B1-2010-03-23
    Version SMBIOS 2.6
HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) Version = "6.1.7600.16385".
GB of physical memory (RAM) 6.00
In addition to the original equipment, I also installed a network card PCIe wireless D - Link DWA - 556 Xtreme N PCIe Desktop Adapter (using the latest drivers for windows 7 d-link)

    Hi Chris,

I might have a happy ending to this topic :)
I returned my old piece of system got another, it worked fine at first, but then the mouse began to stutter once again.

The system had only a few programs installed so I started to uninstall it to see if it changed anything.
    A program - Skype.

I never suspected that my friends use Windows 7 and Skype without any problem, although they could not use quadcore and 64-bit version.

My system is without stutters and glitches for a week, so I'm pretty sure that was the problem.
That Skype is a very wide spread of IM, it could apply to other institutions.

    Thanks for your help!

Windows 8 randomly and often freezes a new HP desktop computer

Having recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8 pro with my new (four months) HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1260 PC, frequently and randomly freezes and I have to reboot to recover my computer. I tried several of the HP help steps I found on the Internet such as: search for the latest updates of Windows 8 with my computer HP showing that it is up-to-date with automatic updates Windows 8 Alt F4 to close the program that is frozen with nothing happens from frozen computer and Ctrl + SHIFT + ESC to open the Manager tasks and nothing happens and the HP computer remains frozen which includes the loss of control of the mouse.

    **

For the duration of four months prior to the upgrade of Windows 8 pro, I never had this problem with Windows 7.

If you have a third party anti virus on your computer, you would probably have to uninstall.

  • How Windows Server backup and command-line tools are used in the installation of vCSHB?

How the Windows Server backup and command-line tools are used during the installation of vCSHB?  It takes in all types of deployments (PtoV, VtoV, PtoP)? It is used to create files that are put in file sharing for the second node to use during the installation of vCSHB or is it only used during a clone of vCSHB of a physical to physical deployment operation?  These tools are not used in some deployments?

You need backup Windows Server installed on the source and destination, and during the installation of vCSHB the installer will call the wbadmin (Windows Server Backup Utility) and will save the configuration and application data (application data is optimal, but can reduce the synchronization time after the installation of the secondary node). On the secondary node you will should only run the vCSHB Installer and everything will be restored.

Check this blog entry for some info on P2P deployment issues: http://www.vcoportal.de/2013/12/vmware-vcenter-server-heartbeat-restore-on-a-second-node-a-journey/

Why is-strike (shift-") on my keyboard (@) key? When the other my keyboard is (update 2).

    Hi acesdie,

Probably to do with the language of the keyboard. Shift + 2 is the American keyboard. Go to control panel and click the language and region. In the window of the region and language, click the keyboard and languages and then click on the button "change keyboards. What language is in the box 'default language'? If it's in the United Kingdom and you are not in the United Kingdom, then click the Add button and select English (United States). Click the plus (+) next to the English (United States) option and then click on the plus sign (+) next to the option "keyboard". Here you will see a list of the types of keyboards, i.e. the United States Dvorak, Dvorak to the United States for the left hand, etc. If you have a keyboard to type Dvorak, then select one of them; If this isn't the case, then I suggest to choose the United States (international) or simply WE. Then click on the arrow to the right of the box in the section "default input language" and select English (United States), and then click apply then OK.

  • Why you put "Open a new tab" on the right side of the browser, when you close a tab on the left and you type a new URL in the browser on the left?

I changed my computer from XP to Windows 7 and migrated my FF browsers. But... now the tabs at the top of the page are all right (they were upper-front left - where I loved her)

The most important is the "open a new tab" + - is on the right. But that is not sensible. Why you put "Open a new tab" on the extreme right of the browser, when you close a tab on the left and you type a new URL in the browser on the left?

How can I put my "open a new tab" immediately to the right of 'Close tab' - as if it was before?

    Please advise?

Try clicking on "Restore default settings" in the palette to customize to reset the toolbar customization.

    • Firefox '3-bar' menu button > customize
    • View > toolbars > customize

    Hi Tom,

If the default printer is not in offline mode, it will detect the different printer but it will not be a default one.

  • Network type changes 'Public' and does not return to work when the default gateway is detected

Original title: Type of network not restored on ethernet cable reconnect.

I have a Dell Precision R5500 running Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1. It is connected to a network that is stored as a type of 'work '. When the ethernet cable is removed and replaced network type changes to 'Public' and does not return to work when the default gateway is detected. I also have a Toshiba Tecra M10 running Window 7 Professional Service Pack 1 that initially detects the network restored as 'Public', but 'Work' once again Exchange is a connection to the default gateway. Is there a setting somewhere in the strength of the network to double check its type periodically?

    Hello

You have any other network assets wireless (specifically) running on the computer?

Have another active network connection could also cause this.

Allows us to follow the methods mentioned below and see if they help.

Method 1: Run the network troubleshooter.

When the network type gets changed to 'Public' after the cable is disconnected and reconnected. The troubleshooter should let you know if there are errors with the associated services.

    See the following article:

Using the troubleshooter from network in Windows 7:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

    Method 2:
check if network discovery and file sharing options are enabled in the network and sharing Center.

    See the following steps:

    a. click on start toreduce this top, type network and sharing Center in the Start Search box, and then click network and sharing Center in the programs list.

    b. If network discovery is off, click the arrow to expand the section, click turn on network discoveryand then click apply.

Reduce this includes this imIf that you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click continue.

    c. If file sharing is off, click the arrow to expand the section, click turn on file sharingand then click apply.

    Collapse this includes this ima

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.

Method 3: Uninstall the network drivers and then install the last set of drivers on the manufacturer's Web site and check the issue.

    See the following steps:

    (a) click Start, right click on computer.

    (b) click on properties, click on Device Manager

    (c) expand the network adapter, right click on the adapter option

    (d) click on uninstall

    (e) now go to your computer / site Web of the manufacturer of the device, download the updated drivers and install them.

Adobe has disabled the CS2 products activation server, you cannot use your own serial key.

You will need to download CS2 and use the serial number on this page...

I CS5.5 Master Collection and you want to transfer to a new laptop.  The CS5.5 was an update for CS3 Design standard and I have all the disks and serial numbers.  I just uninstall both programs a laptop and install them on the other?

You can do it, but you don't have to install cs3 in order to install your upgrade of cs5.5.

You can launch the installation of cs5.5 and you will be asked your cs5.5 serial number.  Setup will ask you then select the product (in a drop-down list) calling.  Select cs3 and you will be prompted for the serial number for cs3.

Enter the correct number at the right time and to proceed with the installation.

If you no longer need these programs on your old laptop, disable (help > deactivate) before uninstalling so that you can keep your two activations.
