RIB vs AppWorx (integration between Oracle POS and RMS)

Hello

We ' r buy Oracle POS and RMS (included, ReSA, RTM, RPM, Back Office, Central Office of the Oracle oracle)...

Oracle salesman told us that all the foregoing is what we need to have a complete integration of the software at retail...

now... after the arrival of consultant, he said that we must buy AppWorx (tasks scheduler software) to another provider. We got him confused.

can someone help us please explain what is the difference between SIDES vs Appsworx.

How are the data transferred between Oracle POS to Central Office (RMS, CO).

How data are transferred to the finances of the oracle (is this handle by RIB? or appsworx)...

is there documentation that will help clarify this issue.

If we don't buy of appworx, what is the impact?

Thank you and best regards

aan

Hi Aan,

Regarding your question
RMS of BO/POS/CO/SIM is done partially on the lots and the COAST (SIM).

The flow of data from RMS to SIM occurs mainly through SIDES (this includes transaction data). But there are still a few batch programs like dataseeding (- who will get the data from the RMS Foundation to SIM-). SIM activity at certain times there are direct API calls to STORE COMMANDER (-in which RSL comes in to the picture)

Data transfer between RMS and POS/BO/CO is via DIMP (data import) which is done through spring. Inequality as point (from RMS) and the price (from RPM) is divided on these systems through DIMP.

And for the sales data to flow to RMS, ReSA integration must be done (so that RTlog files will be treated by ReSA and update in RMS will also happen through POSU files. The stock SIM update will happen with resaparser)

You can find more details on the implementation/operations guides

  • Difference between Oracle EDN and JMS topic

    Hi all

    Can someone explain in detail the difference between Oracle EDN and JMS topic?

    The only difference I see is

    JMS producer must specify the name of the topic to which the message is to go...

    the NDA does not specify where any point of termination (queue or topic), he just publish the event...

    Are there other differences? How to choose when to use Oracle EDN and JMS topics?

    Please, share your ideas...

    Thank you

    Oracle EDN also uses the subject or the database under.

    So there is no difference in low level technology

    However, the NDA is much easier to implement from the subject.

    EDN avoids you having to use create rubrics, create connection factories, creating adapters, update deployments etc. All this is supported internally in the NDA and is available out of the BOX for you. You simply set an EVENT and then publish / subscribe it.

    However, you can use topics when you have other subscribers of third party such as SAP, Siebel, because the NDA is strongly coupled with Oracle SOA, BPEL, mediator components.

  • Difference between Oracle Designer and developer of forms

    Hello

    Could someone explain to me the subject

    Rgds

    sexy

    Oracle Designer is a complete computer-aided design tool and software development. It gives you a set of tools for logical design as an entity-relationship diagrammer, a Process Modeler and a stream Diagrammer. It has a set of design tools from database to physical database design. It can also help to design modules of Oracle Forms application, reports Oracle, PL/SQL Web Toolkit or Visual Basic (VB6, I think, but versions not later as VB.Net). It will then generate these modules. It stores your designs in a metadata repository in an Oracle database, and you can make some nice reports your design data.

    Oracle Forms Developer does one thing and does it very well - it allows you to design and develop modules of Oracle Forms. Note that Designer can do this too, but because the designer generates your forms, you don't have quite as much control over the way they look and work like you would with the Oracle Forms Developer.

    One last thing, these tools are considered to be "mature". For Designer, this means that not much has changed or improved for a while. Forms, however, is still a few changes and improvements with each new version. Nothing really important, but more designer. See the statement of management tools for more information.

  • Integration between SEEP (planning and budgeting Service Cloud) and BIC, BIC & ERPCS

    Hi all

    I have two scenarios:

    I capture/take ERPCS transactional data and to report to the BIC.

    I capture/take the analytical data of SEEP (cube) and to report to the BIC.

    Can someone please shed some light on the requirements above, especially from the point of view of integration.

    Also, share any integration doc. If there is.

    Thank you

    Ashish

    Hi Ashish,

    It would be a two-step process. You can extract the data of SEEP down using the Rest API of SEEP to a location on site and then you will have to download on BIC for reporting.

    Integration is on the roadmap, but it is not yet available.

  • Difference between Oracle database and SQL or SQL Developer +?

    Hello

  • What is the difference between Oracle RAC and Oracle Clusterware?

    Hi all, it's maybe a stupid question, but I read the documentation and still do not understand what is the difference between RAC and Clusterware.
    Can someone explain it to me?

    Thanks in advance!

    ACR is part of database software Oracle database option should be the database mode cluster; See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e16508/glossary.htm#CNCPT2076.

    Clusterware is a separate required to run the Oracle database in cluster mode: you can use Oracle Clusterware without Oracle database, but you cannot use Oracle Database with the option CARS without Oracle Clusterware.

  • ODBC connection between oracle db and db US7ASCII mysql UTF8

    We are trying to convert our Oracle US7ASCII databases to Unicode (AL32UTF8). We have Connector/ODBC 5.3.4 for Solaris (mysql-connector-odbc-commercial-5.3.4-solaris11-sparc-64bit). Everything works when the two databases are US7ASCII. We have used MISP to convert the Oracle in AL32UTF8 database, changed nothing else, and the connection stops working.

    /usr/local/etc/ODBC.ini table of contents:

    [Default]

    Driver = /usr/local/myodbc/lib/libmyodbc5.so

    Description = MySQL ODBC Driver

    SERVER = alex

    PORT = 3312

    USER = schzoneoffice

    Password =

    Database = SCHZONE

    OPTION = 3

    SOCKET =

    $ORACLE_HOME/hs/admin/initmysql.ora table of contents:

    #

    # HS init parameters

    #

    HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = mysql

    HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = we

    HS_FDS_TRACE_FILE = mysql.log

    HS_FDS_SHAREABLE_NAME = /usr/local/lib/libodbc.so

    #

    # ODBC specific environment variables

    #

    Set ODBCINI=/usr/local/etc/odbc.ini

    Can someone suggest the parameters we can try to get this working? I tried to play with the settings HS_LANGUAGE and HS_NLS_NCHAR my initmysql.ora file, under $ORACLE_HOME/hs/admin, nothing helps.

    Right after that I posted this, I answered my own question:

    I was an invalid test, while playing with the parameter HS_LANGUAGE the other day. (lsnrctl reload does not work properly - need to stop and start the receiver, also disconnect and reconnect your oracle session, given that the mysql connection is persistent)

    Today, I added HS_LANGUAGE = american_america. US7ASCII to my initmysql.ora file and it works.

  • I would like to see the integration between the bridge and creative cloud for metadata management

    It seems to me that there should be a shipment to the creative cloud option in bridge, and the option should include filters to send or bring down metadata from your file when it sends, so you can control what metadata is in your shared folder. The workflow that I imagine is a Bridge preferences, where you can check what metadata is sent to the creative cloud, then add creative cloud to export to the right click menu or him give his own entry in right click menu. Then whenever you send anything to creative cloud, it obeys the Bridge settings regarding metadata. In this way, the bridge remains the central place to manage all your CS metadata, either on your computer or in the cloud.

    We take it is a feedback to further improve our product Adobe Bridge & CCM.

  • difference between JDeveloper, Oracle Forms and Java SE and EE

    1. I want to know what is the difference between Oracle Forms, JDeveloper, Java SE and EE
    2. is it true that Oracle Forms can produce only a desktop application. To create the web application, we have JDeveloper?
    3 Java SE can only make application office. EE only can make web applications?

I want to know what tool to develop this custom application and whether to integrate the custom for existing E-Business Suite application. Thank you

    1. I want to know what is the difference between Oracle Forms, JDeveloper, Java SE and EE

    Oracle Forms is a tool of Rapid Application Development (RAD) used to create an Application that interacts with an Oracle database.
    JDeveloper is an integrated development (IDE) environment to create applications based on Java.
    Java is a programming language. The SE (Standard Edition) and EE (Enterprise Edition) are just different editions of Java (very basic definition).

    2. is it true that Oracle Forms can produce only a desktop application. To create the web application, we have JDeveloper?

    The latest version of Oracle Forms No. only supports the web deployment. Old version (6.0 and lower) were traditional Client/Server.

    3 Java SE can only make application office. EE only can make web applications?

    Wrong again. To see the difference between the two, visit www.java.com.

    4. to make custom forms and paste it to the E-Business Suite R12, what tool do we use? Oracle Forms, JDeveloper, or Java SE or EE?

    Above all, Oracle Forms, but you can also develop extensions customized by using JDeveloper and the EBS Self Service Framwork. As indicated above, Java SE and EE are not tools, but a language.

    Can someone help me with this? I intend to make a custom process externally because there are some processes that cannot be addressed by E-Business Suite R12. I want to know what tool to develop this custom application and whether to integrate the custom for existing E-Business Suite application. Thank you

    Before starting to build custom to the Enterprise Oracle Business Suite (EBS) extensions I highly suggest that find you a job working firstly with EBS so you can learn the framework of EBS and how the various parts work together. Also, I recommend that consult the library of Documentation of Oracle Applications . Oracle is very clear on how to add customizations to the EBS.

    I noticed its a lot cheaper as self-training which is web access for a year.

    However, self study does not prepare you as well as the oracle himself.

    UO has four types of training: classroom, virtual Live, training on demand and self study.  The first three are all variations on the same thing: a human being a conference accompanied by a Powerpoint presentation.  The only difference is the specific method of delivery.  I took a dozen or more courses in the classroom, when I worked for Oracle, but none of the other three.  I don't know that they still existed at the time.

    Self-study courses are completely different.  They are not recorded training sessions (or they would cost the same as TOD). They seem to be created by Skillsoft computer-assisted training courses. There are some demos available on the OU Web site. Go to the following URL and click on the tab "Demos'", just above the section asking you to select a product area:

    Self-study courses | Training | Oracle

    That said, it is not yet an option available for the course self-study: Oracle 12 c database: performance management and Tuning.
