RIM Pot virtual series V2

My laptop won't standby. I get a message saying "the device for RIM Virtual Serial Port V2 (COM5) device driver prevents the computer from standby. Driver update or restart the computer. "Where can I get the updated driver? I don't have much experience with it. Thank you!

Hello

What brand and model of fill is the laptop? What version of Vista and 32 or 64 bits. Please post here.

Control Panel - Appliance Maker - probably under Modems - find the name info and model, then double click and
get date and version of the driver - please post here.

While there try UPdate Driver (this cannot help because it only will be former pilots usually)

If no help - MAKE a CLICK - UNINSTALL - Reboot

This will refresh the existing driver

Anyway do and post the info here, he may have drivers that are not as easy to locate.

Check with the system manufacturer AND manufacturer of device for driver (s)

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers manually

  • remove the ports series and parallel

    Hello

I wonder what that "sport erial and parallel can then be removed" in all these articles on the new vSphere 6 functions is all about. I couldn't remove these VMs ports before, couldn't I? Nobody seems to get into the details, everyone just copies / repeat the same thing on the other.

    Best regards

    Jan

Versions previous hardware could always hardware ports series and parallel within the virtual of the motherboard SuperIO chip, even when there are no virtual serial ports or virtual parallel ports configured for the virtual machine - quietly ports would be "present but disconnected", so they would use more space i/o and IRQ, and always appear to be present in the list of devices in your guest OS IRQ and I/O port map.

With the latest version of the material, if you delete the port virtual series and virtual parallel port, they will be missing... the guest OS won't see all the device, and it consumes no space port of IO and no IRQ.

    I hope this helps!

  • Access the console VM series

I'm trying to access a Linux VM console, using ESXi 4.1 serial.  Since the 4.1, a virtual serial port can be added via 'connect via the network', and then we should be able to Telnet or ssh to access the console series of the virtual machine.  I heard that someone did so successfully, however, I couldn't make this work in my setup.  Can someone please share their story of success?

Also, I also notificed that there is a virtual series concentrator on the market, which is basically a Linux VM.  For now, I'm not this solution not only because it's thousands of dollars, but also should not be other characteristics of fantasy in addition access conosle series of the virtual computer.

I'm trying to do something similar (although I want to drive a kickstart installation), and depending on what exactly you want to do, it might be possible.

You can get the prompt to listen on the ESX host by specifying the serial port by using the network, a server, and having a URI of tcp://0.0.0.0:10000 port

0.0.0.0 is the generic address (i.e. all the IP address on the ESX host) and 10000 is the TCP port. Starting the virtual machine, it will bind to port 10000 and you can then connect from the ESX host with netcat (the "nc" command), or open a port in the firewall, and connect to the network.

Direct connection of the ESX host:

    ESX # nc 127.0.0.1 10000

The open Firewall port and remote connection

    ESX # esxcfg - firewall - o 10020, tcp, in, series

    myhost$ nc esx 10000

It connects, but once you sign, you don't see any output. After the start of the guest from a picture ISO of RHEL and boot the kernel with the command line 'linux console = ttyS0, 9600' (to tell the kernel the serial console output), you can see the messages of the kernel for netcat startup, but you can not really do something like netcat session does not appear to pass over the keys like enter (I'm sure you can do it work, but I don't know how). You can work around this by changing the host configuration URI to serial port of tcp://0.0.0.0:10000 to telnet://0.0.0.0:10000 and by connecting to it with a telnet client.

Now you can usefully interact with the session of kickstart, but only * after * you include the serial console settings in the initialization of the kernel arguments.

To operate without intervention from the vSphere client, so it seems that you change the ISO boot to at least include the 'console = ttyS0, 9600' default argument.

It is a bit of a pain for me, because I expected to be able to drive the initial startup on a text interface without changing the ISO boot, since we use a wide range of distributions different kickstart based with different ISOs (don't ask...).

I don't know if this helps you, but don't forget that you can perform a kickstart installation on VNC. See the options "vnc" and "vncpassword" here:

    http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-us/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/5/HTML/Installation_Guide/ch-bootopts-x86.html

Although you should always provide an IP address and the location of the installation media. Furthermore, anaconda creates a script of kickstart recording how the installation was made in/root/anaconda - ks.cfg.

    Hope this helps.

    Hola,

"I am interested in virtualizar con windows 2008 server R2 server vmware ESXI hypervisor."

    Why?

In una particion instalaria el operating system virtualizado y otra las particiones en no virtualizaría tan solo copiaria los datos (word file, excel, planos..)

Las particiones a level of operating system no tienen porque coincidir con los data warehouses. You can perfectly tener en UN mismo datastore todos tus archivos con related to the virtual machine (este are el behavior por defecto y como estan the mayoria of maquinas office in all the sites). Said esto, you can for example tener en UN mismo datastore (you locla datastore).

    (1) UN unico con Datastore filesystem VMFS5 como

Como well say in other responses, if no quieres than United Nations publication do disco is vea afectado por los instant, the best are idea hacerlo y 'independent' me sumo a the phrase of Quebec "snapshots no backups of son.

As a TR aren't el mejor planteamiento, desde mi punto of vista. Te sugiero use you en caso UN unico Datastore y presentarle a you Máquina virtual different discos virutales. Esta forma, you Máquina virtual sera mas flexible y podras hacer form of adequacy of esos 'discos duros' office (veras los archivos vmdk tipo, etc.) y los podras reconectar has the VM than anytime in case of necesitarlo. Claro as sin vCenter or her license over-tightened, players ser "form en frio.

ESXi tiene el comando fdisk. If of you recommend lo usas sober Sea United Nations houses that no tenga maquinas office dentro (hazlo crear none VM antes) porque is pueden perder. Hay bastante en the web documentation sober el uso este comando propia ayuda that offers host cuando el además is teclea "fdisk."

How can I configure a series existing comport on windows 7 OS without using Virtual comport Software Support

  • Cisco Nexus 1000V Virtual Switch Module investment series in the Cisco Unified Computing System

    Hi all
I read an article by Cisco entitled "Best practices in Deploying Cisco Nexus 1000V Switches Cisco UCS B and C Series series Cisco UCS Manager servers" http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps9441/ps9902/white_paper_c11-558242.html

A lot of excellent information, but the section that intrigues me, has to do with the implementation of module of the VSM in the UCS. The article lists 4 options in order of preference, but does not provide details or the reasons underlying the recommendations. The options are the following:

    ============================================================================================================================================================
Option 1: VSM external to the Cisco Unified Computing System on the Cisco Nexus 1010

In this scenario, the virtual environment management operations is accomplished in a method identical to existing environments not virtualized. With multiple instances on the Nexus 1010 VSM, multiple vCenter data centers can be supported.
    ============================================================================================================================================================

Option 2: VSM outside the Cisco Unified Computing System on the Cisco Nexus 1000V series MEC

This model allows to centralize the management of virtual infrastructure, and proved to be very stable...
    ============================================================================================================================================================

Option 3: VSM Outside the Cisco Unified Computing System on the VMware vSwitch

This model allows to isolate managed devices, and it migrates to the model of the device of the unit of Services virtual Cisco Nexus 1010. A possible concern here is the management and the operational model of the network between the MSM and VEM devices links.
    ============================================================================================================================================================

Option 4: VSM Inside the Cisco Unified Computing System on the VMware vSwitch

This model was also stable in test deployments. A possible concern here is the management and the operational model of the network links between the MSM and VEM devices and switching infrastructure have doubles in your Cisco Unified Computing System.
    ============================================================================================================================================================

As a beginner for both 100V Nexus and UCS, I hope someone can help me understand the configuration of these options and equally important to provide a more detailed explanation of each of the options and the resoning behind preferences (pro advantages and disadvantages).

    Thank you

  • How to set up a USB converter to series on a virtual XP machine

    Envy 17 3D: i7 2090nr: model LV045UA #ABA, Windows 7 Professional

I am installing a converter USB to COM on a virtual PC XP series. Neither Belkin nor IOGEAR USB to Serial converters are able to accomplish this because they cannot work within a virtual machine, according to their support personnel and I checked it's true.

Is it possible to install a USB converter to series on a virtual XP machine?

    Kind regards

    LMNUCOHEN

It turns out that, integration features have been installed, when I created the virtual machine. In addition to starting the virtual machine, it enables the integration features.

Based on previous comments by the previous speaker, what I'm trying to cannot be done.

    Thank you for responding.

  • TMS directory failed in the endpoints of series C after the migration of the device to the virtual computer

    Hi all

We have migrated the 12.8 TMS from the device to the TMS 13.0 on the VM platform. There is no matching TMSPE and mainly used for management and directory service.

Once the migration is complete on the platform of the VM, we found that endpoint C-series could not receive phonebook of TMS (while 95 MXP endpoints works very well with the TMS directory).

The end point of series C, we check the Configuration-> directory server 1: URL. The link is converted from http:// /tms/public/external/phonebook/phonebookservice.asmx http:// tms/public/external/phonebook/phonebookservice.asmx.

(In addition, we check the authorization of the two phone book page, and there is no IIS issue).

In the 95 MXP endpoint, it can receive the telephone directory unit VM MSD and MSD.

    Best regards

    Ben

    Hi Ben,

As confirmed by the curl command - you don't have access to the web page as an anonymous user.  You have to fix your permissions.  One of the fastest ways to do would be to try to reinstall the MSDS on the server again - this should reconfigure the IIS settings required for TMS.

  • series 0: could not connect to the printer virtual daemon after 25 attempts

I get the error message that the virtual printer daemon can't connect whenever I start the guest system and I can't get my printer to work from Windows.  He used to work when I first set up my VM.  Any suggestions on what this means and how to fix it?  I'm on Mac OS X 10.5.6 on a MacBook Pro and have Windows XP Home Edition on the virtual machine.  Also, when the printer works on the virtual machine, it still required me to disconnect, and then reconnect the USB connection to make it work.

If you Search the forums for "Failed to connect to the virtual after 25 attempts printer daemon", the first result from that moment is Re: unable to connect to the printer via ThinPrint error: "serial0: unable to connect to the virtual printer daemon after 25 attempts." The unit will cut'. In this thread, mudaltsov follows the problem down to one/etc/printcap needless - move which should solve the problem.

  • Adapter USB - C compatibility series?

Can someone confirm compatibility USB adapters series knows well with other Macs and a 12 '' MacBook?

I'm not (USB) universal serial bus but a cable series to 9600, 8, N, 1 network connections and ports console industrial equipment.

I use a TRENDnet TU-S9 with my retina 15 or 13 Air via VMware Fusion and a virtual Windows machine.

    Thank you.

FYI to the professionals or technicians with these needs.

I brought a House MacBook and a Windows 10 VM sees the TRENDnet TU-S9 plugged the dongle USB - C or mini dock drivers loaded, and that's where that COM3 just as it is with the native USB ports on my laptop Air and 15 of the retina.

That could make the MacBook a keeper.

The Qosmio G30-112 belongs to the series of PQF30E. You must install the drivers for this series of the European driver Toshiba page!

    Hello Hans,.

I had searched the internet on installation of a virtual COM port, but I only find solutions based manufacturer. So I think that the driver or the software that generates the virtual COM port is based on the product that you (in your case, the gps system).

The manufacuring company request a solution!

But if they don't have a solution, I found a link on the internet that might help you! But if you want to test I will assume no responsibility for the consequences such as loss of data after a system crash.

  • Satellite Pro L40 - Vista display lack of virtual memory message

    Hello

new here on this forum, hope someone can help,

I have a series of satellite Pro L40, I'm trying to free up memory space I get the prompt "virtual memory is low", Vista (c) shows 3.28 GB free of 37.2 GB & data (E :) shows 100% free, I just replced both modules of memory with x 2 1 GB 200 pin Sodimm memory upgrades but Vista is still to display only 3.28 GB of free space) , any idea?

    Your very confused!, Mike.

    Hi Mike,.

I think you mixed a lot of The RAM (Random Access Memory) has * nothing * to do with disk space von Vista (c).
Vista with low disk space partition is stored on the HARD disk and the second partition (E :) as well.
RAM and HARD drive are completely different. All your data/files are stored on the HARD drive because the RAM is no place to save the data.

In any case, I think you need to move some files from partition C: to E: partition like photos, music, etc. Then, you can get rid of this error message.

  • Satellite P100-188: where to find the Power Saver & Virtual Surround Sound

    Hello

We know when or if Toshiba will allow us to download these utilities compatible with cell phones series P100-188? I've very disappointed with the sound quality compared to my satellite M45 I replaced this P100-188 (PSP3AE).

I still don't see these utilities on the list tailored to this particular type of laptops. Can someone help me please?
Thank you and Merry Christmas John

Well, as far as I know some units of the P series are delivered without the energy saving and the virtual sound.
I don t know why, but I guess that it s a kind of policy
However, I don t think that Toshiba will design and develop the tools if the laptop has been delivered without these features.

I remember from one of my friends bought a unit in a series of P a long time ago and this laptop has not also been bundled with Toshiba power saver.
He had to use Windows power options instead of the energy saver.

    Hi all

I brought a new SATELLITE A100 series laptop, during the configuration and installation of new soft, I find myself with that.

    1. I am able to install the Toshiba Virtual Sound, it gives error on install start-> "Toshiba Sound only is not supported on your virtual machine".

2 another problem is Toshiba Power Saver, cannot start Control Panel or taskbar, it gives an error Fatel error 0x3F0, I am able to switch between the different profiles using Fn + F2 keys.

One, can help me to solve this problem.
I am using Windows XP Pro SP2.

    Thanks in advance.
    ESIMS

    Hello

1.) for me the error message seems very clear. It seems that you have used fake utility Virtual Sound. It is not designed for your laptop model.

2.) I found several assignments with power saver same fatal error 0x3F0 and in each of theses cases the installation of the Toshiba recovery CD has solved the problem.

PS: I want to add some useful information: I checked the page of the Toshiba driver and found two different sets of satellite. Don't mix the two series. It is possible to s that the drivers will not work.
Additional you have to follow the installation guide lines that are in the document on the Toshiba page installation instructions.
Incorrect installation order could be a reason for the driver and the malfunction of the tools
