root vCenter device connection refused

Hello

facing a problem for the last 4 months.

I am unable to connect to the root device vcenter account.

via ssh or local console. raise them an access denied error.

I tried to see if the password has expired by this article: http://www.virtuallyghetto.com/2013/09/how-to-recover-vcsa-55-from-expired.html

It was not the case.

while I was there, I decided to try this: http://www.virtualpotholes.com/post/124746380849/how-to-reset-the-root-password-for-vcsa-60

has confirmed that several articles said the same thing: http://www.settlersoman.com/how-to-reset-root-password-on-vcenter-appliance-vcsa-6-x/

saved the file of the shadow, disassembled the drive and rebooted.

I am still unable to connect local shell or ssh.

I'm puzzled.

I found some details on the reason that what was going on.

When I tried to connect ssh I would just get access denied. even when you connect through the console.

When I tried to change the console session (ALT - F1) and logging in there I got an eloquent message.

account locked due to 1342 connection failures

as I said, it's been 4 months.

any reset procedure I tried worked. However, the account was always BLOCKED.

According to the documents of the shadow, it was not. but according to the addin to pam tally2 it was!

following this article (http://www.sneaku.com/2015/06/12/vrealize-operations-manager-6-0-root-account-locked/) and general linux distro forums skimming validated these results.

I could use to unlock the account.

    I hope someone can help here.  We have two servers separate vCO using the same vCenter.  Both of them have problems connecting to the same vCenter.  If I try a different vCenter, no problem.  This should remove the vCO to the equation and prove that something is happening with the vCenter.  We've updated vCenter 5.5 2 updated about two weeks ago and have not had any problems until yesterday.  I wonder if this is the cause, and if anyone else has encountered this problem?

    Weirder still is, I am able to get a license of this same vCenter, who must use the same SOAP WS.

    Hello

    I meant to return and from what I've found on this.  I had this problem.  vCO does not use only TCP/443, but also TCP/80.  Our vCenter which was not has its port http TCP/81 value.  It was probably due to a conflict at installation time.  The person who installs to vCenter took a shortcut and changed the port.  It is all very well until you get to where I was.  Make sure that you use the standard ports in vCenter, and then try again.  This is what was causing my issue and was originally "Connection refused" on TCP/80.  I was about to start tcpdump to see what was going on until it has been.  Let me know and good luck.

    Hello

    My system is running under the power of Attorney and I confifured mds setting of Article number: DB-00047.

    After this adjustment, I am able to do the http connection.

    I have downloaded the open source XMPP from this link. and I'm doing the connection socket with my Gmail now, but through it throw net.rim.device.cldc.io.ippp.SocketBaseIOException: connection refused: exception, but when I add on the side of true device he throw "java.io.IOException: Peer refused the connection.

    final StreamConnection connection = (StreamConnection) Connector.open("socket://" + this.host + ":" + this.port, Connector.READ_WRITE);

    I also tried adding deviceside = 'true' and 'false' parameter but I got same result.please help where I am doing wrong or it is still problem of proxy that do not allow the socket connection. Thoughts or ideas is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Currently, the MDS - CS Simulator allows only proxies be set for straight HTTP connections.

  • Occasional SocketBaseIOException "Connection refused" problem on R5.0

    Hello

    I developed an application that uses an https connection to communicate with a web service using data in XML format. I did test in-depth the application on 9000 "BOLD" 4.6.0.28 2 current execution with all sorts of conditions of access network (Wifi, 3G, Edge) and everything worked well for me on the Rogers network.

    I have improved my 9000 to run OS5.0.0.411 and I now get the following exception in my logic of connection:

    SocketBaseIOException "Connection refused".

    In characterizing this problem, it seems to only happen once every 5 to 10 connections. Even more, it doesn't happen when I turn off my cell transmitter and go on WiFi only.

    I rebuilt my application for 5.0 with the string of tools Eclipse 1.1 to 5.0 and get the same problem.

    In a debugging perspective, I have a real problem, because:

    (a) with Eclipse 1.0 JDE I can attach it to the device, but cannot set a breakpoint.

    (b) with Eclipse 1.1 JDE I can't yet set to the device.

    Suggestions to help isolate or work around this problem would be greatly appreciated.

    I was unable to find a root cause or an elegant solution to this problem. However, I could characterize enough to work around him in an acceptable way. I'm capturing the info hear so I hope this helps someone else. This has been a difficult one to isolate and characterize. Here is a summary.

    Even if the underlying stack could not create a connection https on the BIS service identified by a Service UID book, it would be on the first 'open '.

    1 generate the SocketBaseIOException.

    2. somehow to cache the connection so that 'open' later against the same URL would cause the stack return the connection from 1. which, once the IO later would generate the same exception.

    This problem moved not on WiFi connections or the Simulator.

    My work around was to create a cache of years to keep track of services with these embarrassing the UID and avoid them in the selection of connection logic.

    I guess this problem is also specific carrier because he had other services in the service with CID of IPPP log "" what has worked well for me. I have test it on the Rogers network with a BIS service.

    Hope this helps someone out there, and maybe someone rim could look at this rather clumsy difference in behavior in R5 compared to what's happening on A4.6

    I checked the checked the file /etc/resolv.conf Bed & Breakfast.

    I am able to ssh on the server as well as the use of WinSCP without any problem.

    I can connect with the VI Client also without problem.

    Any ideas?

    The problem has been resolved.

    The fix:

    =====

    # vimsh-e - n/hostsvc/hostsummary | grep inMaintenanceMode

    Using the libcrypto, version 90809F

    inMaintenanceMode = false,

    # vim-cmd/hostsvc/hostsummary | grep inMaintenanceMode

    inMaintenanceMode = false,

    Rationality for the problem is these commands (vim - FCM or vimsh) were unable to communicate due to lack of xinetd process.

    Further examination shows that the xinetd is unable to start because he believed NETWORK unavailable.

  • ERR connection refused for Chrome, Safari, Firefox (most Web sites)

    Hi all

    I am facing a serious problem of internet browser. Yesterday, I suddenly found a Web site connection problem with my MACBook Pro. Specifically, with all browsers such as Chrome, Safari and Firefox, I can't access most websites except Gmail, Youtube, Facebook, etc. All other sites gave an error "Err Connection refused". Surprisingly, I can connect to each Web site with other devices (Ipad, my phone) under this same wifi network... That my MAC did not work properly.

    Then I saw that it had some malware called power helperbar appeared on my site Web whenever I try to re - open my browser. Then, I used all that are available online to get rid of it... Right now, it doesn't seem anymore, but I still can't access most Web sites...

    I checked (I also changed to google DNS 8.8.8.8) DNS, IP, etc, and everything seems normal... At the end of the day, I reinstalled my Macbook system but the problem persists... I have really no more that I can do to fix personally.

    I ask the help of the community?

    Thank you very much

    Best regards

    You may have installed one or more variants of the malware "VSearch' ad-injection. Please back up all data, and then take the steps below to disable it.

    Do not use any type of product, "anti-virus" or "anti-malware" on a Mac. It is never necessary for her, and relying on it for protection makes you more vulnerable to attacks, not less.

    Malware is constantly evolving to work around defenses against it. This procedure works now, I know. It will not work in the future. Anyone finding this comment a couple of days or more after it was published should look for a more recent discussion, or start a new one.

    VSearch malware tries to hide by varying names of the files it installs. To remove it, you must first identify the naming model.

    1 triple - click on the line below on this page to select, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination:

    /Library/LaunchDaemons

    In the Finder, select

    Go ▹ go to the folder...

    from the menu bar and paste it into the box that opens by pressing command + V. You won't see what you pasted a newline being included. Press return.

    A folder named "LaunchDaemons" can open. If this is the case, press the combination of keys command-2 to select the display of the list, if it is not already selected.

    There should be a column in the update Finder window. Click this title two times to sort the content by date with the most recent at the top. Please don't skip this step. The files that belong to an instance of VSearch will have the same date of change within about a minute, so they will be grouped together when you sort the folder this way, which makes them easy to identify.

    Search in the folder with the name of all these forms:

    com.something.daemon.plist

    com.something.Helper.plist

    com.something .net - preferences.plist

    Here, something is a string, which may be different in each instance of VSearch random meaningless. So far it has always been an alphanumeric string without punctuation signs, such as "disbalance" or "thunderbearer."

    You may have more than one copy of the malware, with different values of something.

    There may be one or more files with the name of this form:

    com.somethingelseUpd.plist

    where George can be an empty string of sense that something different. Yet once, there may be more than one file of this type, with different values of Gisele.

    Here is a typical example of an infection VSearch:

    com.disbalance .net - preferences.plist

    com.thunderbearerUpd.plist

    You will have files with similar names, but probably not identical to these.

    If you feel confident that you have identified the files above, drag only the files - nothing - to the trash. You may be prompted for administrator login password. Close the Finder window.

    2. open this folder as in step 1:

    /Library/LaunchAgents

    Move to the trash all the files with the name of the form

    com.something.agent.plist

    where something is one of the strings that you found in step 1. There may be not all of these files.

    3. If you have whatever it is moved to the trash in step 1 and step 2, restart the computer and empty the trash.

    Do not remove the folder 'LaunchAgents' or "LaunchDaemons", or anything else inside of one or the other, unless you know you have another type of unwanted software and more VSearch. Records are a normal part of Mac OS X. The terms "agent" and "demon" is a reference to a program that starts automatically. This is not inherently bad, but the mechanism is sometimes exploited by hackers for malicious software.

    4 reset the home page in each of your browsers, if it has been modified. In Safari, first load the desired home page, then select

    ▹ Safari preferences... ▹ General

    and click on

    Set on the current Page

    The malware is now permanently inactivated, as long as you reinstall it never. A few small files will be left behind, but they have no effect, and trying to find all them is more trouble that it's worth.

    5. If you do not find the files or you are not sure about the identification, after what you have found.

    If in doubt, or if you have no backups, change nothing at all.

    6. the penalty may have started when you have downloaded and run an application called 'MPlayerX' or "PDF Pronto." If there is an element with a name in the Applications folder, delete it.

    This Trojan horse is often found on the illegal Web sites that traffic in content such as movies pirated. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit these Web sites and follow the instructions to install the software, you can expect more of the same and worse, to follow. Never install software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or which has been downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.

    In the aspect of security & confidentiality of system preferences, select the general tab. The marked anywhere radio button should not be selected. If this is the case, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, and then select an other keys. After that, do not ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown Director.

    Then, still in system preferences, open the pane of the App Store or software update and check the box marked

    Install the system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later version)

    or

    Automatically download the updates (OS X 10.9 or earlier version)

    If it is not already done.

  • Device USB not recognized - device connected USB has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it

    I have a HP Pavilion dv4 laptop running Windows 7 Home Edition Premium and the USB ports worked well for a HP deskjet printer and an older Casio digital camera. Then one day, the laptop decided not to recognize the Casio digital camera and gave the error message "USB device not recognized" and also indicated that the device connected to the computer has malfunctioned. This prompted me to buy a new digital camera Canon. Well, a new camera has not fixed the problem. Now, anything that is connected to one of the 2 ports USB will not be recognized by my laptop. Help!  I am at a loss to understand this.  I tried using Microsoft suggested below:

    Suggestion 1: the problem with USB devices, uninstall and reinstall all USB controllers. This allows controllers to recover the port USB of his condition does not respond.
    USB controllers represent the USB ports in Device Manager.

    a. Click Start, type Manager of devices in the search box of start and press ENTER.
    b. expand Bus USB controllers.
    Note: you may scroll through the list to find this point.
    c. the first USB controller under Bus USB controllers right click and then click on uninstall to remove it.
    d. Repeat steps above for each controller USB is listed under Bus USB controllers.
    e. restart the computer. After the computer starts, Windows will automatically check for changes on the hardware and reinstall all USB controllers that you uninstalled.
    f. check the USB device to see if it works.

    This has not fixed the problem.  Then the Device Manager, I tried to update the drivers on all the USB controllers and root hubs. While some may have received software updates downloaded, it still has not corrected the problem of unrecognized USB device after the computer is restarted.  I hope that someone knows the solution to this situation and can pass it on to me. Thanks for reading and any help display.

    Read previous messages revealed the solution for USB devices not recognized on my HP Pavilion as well as several other laptop models.  Shut down the computer and remove the battery and wait for about 15 minutes. Reinstall the battery and restart the computer.  USB ports are working to download pictures from my digital camera from Canon and charging a cell phone, etc...   I hope it helps others with this problem!

  • HTTP - 'connection refused '.

    All,

    I'm going nuts!  I was dead in the water for a while.  I'm trying to get the web content to load in my application and everything works fine in the Simulator, but on the current device, which is a Storm 9530 on the Verizon network, I get ' connection refused [field of Web site]: 80 "to where the content would be.

    The connection string, I'm passing to the HTTPConnection is: http://fulldomainname/Test/Test.aspx;deviceside=false;connectionUID=GPMDSNA5C

    A test, I was logging every query on my IIS server, but when I try to connect is not hitting the newspaper, so demand is still not making it on the server.  I also tried this on pages like google.com and other well-known sites, so I don't think that it's the server either.

    I use the HTTPConnectionFactory of http://www.versatilemonkey.com/HttpConnectionFactory.java and have actually used successfully for another project, so I don't know why it does not work.

    HttpConnectionFactory _factory = new HttpConnectionFactory("http://domain/TestAd/Test.aspx");

    while({
      try
      {
                        String nextString = _factory.getNextConnectionString();

    This should be the most relevant code.  I apologize for posting without care - I can't seem to fix this.  If you copy and paste into a text editor, it should be easier to read.

    Can anyone offer avenues of advice?  I'm REALLY stuck!

    Thank you!

    Devon

    Sorry, not looked carefully, just noticed this:

    deviceside = false; connectionUID = GPMDSNA5C

    If you want to use WAP, which should really be

    deviceside = true; connectionUID = GPMDSNA5C

    If you try to use WAP, I recommend that you first try the WAP browser on the device, just confirm that it actually works.

    I hope this helps.

  • 'Data Connection Refused' blackBerry smartphones turn off the notification!

    Hello, I'm on sick leave for the next three months and my work doesn't pay for my phone, and I really didn't want to know how many emails are piling up in my Inbox, while I'm away, so I called AT & T today and cancelled my internet package.  So, right now, I'm only using my blackberry as a phone and calendar, tasks, etc.  There is a notification that appears on top of my phone that says 'Data Connection Refused'.  I looked through the options and I can't understand how to transform that turned off, any suggestions?

    Thank you!!!

    This means that your SIM is not provisioned for BlackBerry services... which is obvious as your request to cancel your BlackBerry data plan. To delete "Data Connection Refused' on top of your device go Options -> Mobile network -> Data Service: Off.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones SAP connection refused

    Seems to have a weird problem since upgrading to 4.7.1.61 on my VZW tour, whenever I get in my car and my phone finds the bluetooth on my GPS, I get this message on the screen of my BB

    SAP connection refused please fix the 16 digit code.     I can't find anywhere, do anything about it.    Someone at - he had no idea, I talked to Garmin and they don't have any idea.

    Help

    It is probably because your car is using a bluetooth reserved for SIM Access Profile (SAP) channel.  I had a similar problem with another situation of matching.

    As a workaround, go into your options bluetooth for your device and for the services of your will see the list of available options.  Uncheck the SIM Access Profile. Of course, you will not be able to use the SAP service (I have not yet), but you should be able to use your device as you expected.

  • MAF connection refused

    I work on the Jdeveloper/MAF 12.1.3 tutorial and have successfully tested my rest WebServices.

    Consuming web services REST-JSON in Mobile Applications with Oracle Mobile Application Framework

    I've successfully deployed my MAF base app both an Android device and the Android emulator. When I run the application, I get the below error:

    12-31 19:39:19.453: D/GVC (4898): [SEVERE - oracle.adfmf.framework - RestTransportLayer - readResponse] ERROR: REST Transport - read - javax.microedition.io.ConnectionNotFoundException: unable to connect to 127.0.0.1 on port 7101: java.net.ConnectException: connection refused

    I changed the 127.0.0.1 localhost - I test my Web service successfully from within JDeveloper, but when the MAF app connects, it gives the connection refused error above ideas?

    It was my firewall.

    The 10.0.2.2 didn't work.

    I finally allowed to access the device and it worked.

    Thank you all.

  • Unable to add previous hosts to vCenter device

    Greetings.  We are migrating our guests to new hardware.  We had three hosts for running ESXi 5.5.0 - 1331820 with the vCenter device on one of them.  Everything worked well.  In the process of moving virtual machines around, vCenter device has been deleted (intentionally).  We recreated the device of the OVA 5.5.0.5201 vCenter and ran through the Installation Wizard as previously.

    Now, when you add one of the existing hosts to vCenter, it finds the host and displays information.  When the user clicks on finish, it works quickly up to 80% and the host appears, and then disconnects.  The log shows: add host independent, added host, unable to connect host computer in the data center; connection error host, removed in the data center.

    The error showing is: cannot communicate with the specified host (x.x.x.x). The host may not be available on the network, may have a network configuration problem, or that the management on this host services may not respond.

    Now the stupid thing is that we can not even add the host on which the vCenter unit is on.  In addition, all hosts and vCenter unit are on the same network of management.  There is no firewall doesn't block all ports.  I read through a lot of the display of the Knowledge Base, and most is in regards to incorrect IP addresses or ports blocked or similar.  I checked through everything and could not find anything wrong.

    Last thing is that we amazed the ESXi host that had the vCenter device on it and re-installed 5.5.0 - 1623387 ESXi (version a little more recent than before) and reinstalled the that vCenter device exactly as before.  Now we can add that the host but still cannot add other hosts.  So it appears the issue is something with the hosts and not the device vCenter.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    I run in to the same kind of problems with other factors.

    FWIW, have you tried the following in this order? 1 stop the vpxa on host, 2 service. Stop the service vmware-vpxd on the vcenter server, 3. Start the vmware-vpxd on the vcenter server, 4 service. Start the serivce vpxa on the host. Then try to add.

  • A script for the e-mail notifications to all detectors of vCenter device 54 default works as expected, however it ends with an error.

    Hello

    We test the automatic configuration of alerts by email of all the alarms of 54 by default since version 5.0 of the device of vCenter.

    Since this is something that we intend to do on all the installations/upgrades, it can be a time-consuming task having to manually set each alarm set on each vCenter so I indicated to an article in the blog of VMpros which appears to address a similar task and who suggests using PowerCLI script to take care of this:

    http://blog.vmpros.nl/2011/07/04/VMware-change-alarm-actions-with-PowerCLI/

    I fixed the script from its original version because it shouldn't change certain actions of alarm to send alarm notifications at a different e-mail once a week. Instead, we will propose a one-time activity.

    After configuring vCenter server connection information and change the e-mail addresses, I have successfully tested the custom script to add notifications by e-mail to a test alarm (named "Test alarm") to a simple action, that I had created earlier (turn on/off a virtual computer in our laboratory). The added script notifications by e-mail to our alarm test as expected without error.

    Before you change the script to add e-mail notifications to all 54 defect detectors as needed, I decided to test the custom script against one of the predefined alarms (named 'Host the status of material power'). While the script added notifications by e-mail to the alarm 'Material receiving power status' as expected, he finished with errors.

    I just want to make sure that our custom script contains no script errors before using it on all the installations/upgrades (any suggestion or criticism is welcome).

    I pasted the error resulting from the prompt of Windows PowerShell commands below.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Massimiliano

    ==================================================

    Okay, I think I found the problem.

    You set 3 actions on this alarm (3 x Email).

    This means that it

    Get-AlarmDefinition -Name "$actAlarm1" | Get-AlarmAction

    Returns 3 objects (one for each action).

    Unfortunately, the New-AlarmActionTrigger cmdlet wants 1 as input Action, not a table object.

    The solution is to select the Action of explictely for which you want to change the trigger.

    Something like that

    Get-AlarmDefinition -Name "$actAlarm1" | Get-AlarmAction | Select -Index 0 | New-AlarmActionTrigger -StartStatus "Green" -EndStatus "Yellow" Get-AlarmDefinition -Name "$actAlarm1" | Get-AlarmAction | Select -Index 1 | New-AlarmActionTrigger -StartStatus "Red" -EndStatus "Yellow" Get-AlarmDefinition -Name "$actAlarm1" | Get-AlarmAction | Select -Index 2 | New-AlarmActionTrigger -StartStatus "Yellow" -EndStatus "Green"

    Beware, the script does not remove the old triggers, so you will end up having several triggers for actions.

    First use the remove-AlarmActionTrigger to remove any existing triggers.

    Is it possible to force a non-secure http connection?

    No, it's not a way to connect by using http.

    Try the following:

    stop /etc/init.d/VAMI-SFCB

    http_proxy = / opt/vmware/sbin/vami-sfcbdhttp://your_proxy:proxy_port;
