Rounding numbers
It is more a question generic powershell just about VI Toolkit, but I've been Googling like crazy and have not been able to find an answer yet. When you use the : function round(), is possible to always round off the result? So as if it's the 3.1, I want the result ot be 4. Thank you.
Well, it's a way to go too.
I was going to suggest math::ceiling. Math::floor goes the other way.
Please note that you must add square brackets around math both of the above.

Rounding numbers to millions with the dollar sign in InDesign
I've been struggling with this problem for over a year now and I need to start asking some experts. I have several large files that have a lot of big numbers ($millions) excellent and I need to cut them to fit into smaller cells by rounding to the millionth closest in InDesign CC. So instead of $23,564,950.00 I need $23.6 Mr. the layout of the import version does not format. It is possible to wright is a script for this? I have not found a way to do this with styles.
This isn't what you asked
If millions are made optional you get 0.8 against 817 000 and 880 000 0.9:
(function(){ app.findGrepPreferences = null; app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = '(?<=[$])(?:\\d{1,3},)?\\d{3},\\d{3}(?:\\.\\d\\d)?'; var found = app.documents[0].findGrep(); for (var i = found.length-1; i >= 0; i--) { found[i].contents = (found[i].contents.replace(/,/g,'').replace(/\.\d\d/,'')/1000000).toFixed(1)+'M'; } }());

Problem with rounding numbers?
I have the following code, which is part of my web application that I use the liquid on:
{% assign BService = BsumService | divided_by: BdivisorService-%}
This generates a number like this: 3,166667.
Then I run the present:
{{BService | round: 1}}
This should, unless I've misunderstood something, exit: 3.2 but the problem is it does not change the output. I always 3,166667. I tried tour: 2 with the same results.
What happens here? I use incorrectly round: x? Is this a bug?
I must point out that ceiling, floor and around the work. The only one who doesn't is round: x.
Yes Alex, that's how BC's spit that so that would need fixing.

The simplest answer is probably to limit your result with Number.toFixed (). The answer is not so easy is to write your own class BigDecimal (in Java).

Round numbers up through 2 decimal places
Hello Adobe Fam,
Have a livecycle form which works perfectly except the final number for the calculation of the average. It is showing a number like 2.33333333333, is it possible to just be 2.33 at all?
Thanks N Advance
Use it as your view model. Make sure that you use the numeric field
NUM {zzzzzzz9.zz}
Thank you

Error of comparison while trying to round like Excel
I have two different but related issues. First: my LabVIEW application is not passing validation of my client because the results in LabVIEW are not exactly the same as those that my customer buy when using MS Excel. The problem is with rounding: LabVIEW and Excel round numbers differently and (unfortunately) I have to round up the numbers in the way that Excel.
Because I need to round up after the comma, I started using a beautiful VI I found here at ni.com called 'DecimalRoundingLV8.5vi'. However, due to the difference between LabVIEW and Excel, I can't use this VI as it is. For example, rounded to the third place after the comma:
The number to round LABVIEW EXCEL 0.0045 0.0040 0,0050 So, my first question is this one, I need to round like Excel... However, the solution I implemented raised an odd question, and I don't know if I see a bug in LabVIEW.
I changed the decimal rounded VI. Here is a picture of the code and I also enclose it:
First of all, if the number is negative I change into a positive for rounding. In the end, I return the sign.
Like the original VI, I multiply the number to round up times 10 ^ x, where x is the place after the decimal point, I would like to turn to, I'm rounding and then dividing by 10 ^ x.
However, I also multiply the number of round 10 ^(x+1) time and divide the result by 10 to get the unit as the reminder and to evaluate this number. If the number is less than 5, I tour as usual; If not, round towards + infinity.
So far, so good and everything seems to be fantastic. But when I tested this code I found the following bizarre scenario. For example, rounded to the third place after the comma:
The number to round LABVIEW EXCEL 0.0855 0.0860 0.0860 0.0856 0.0860 0.0860 0,0857 0.0860 0.0860 0.0858 0.0860 0.0860 0.0859 0.0860 0.0860 0.0860 0.0860 0.0860 0.0861 0.0860 0.0860 0.0862 0.0860 0.0860 0.0863 0.0860 0.0860 0.0864 0.0860 0.0860 0,0865 0.0860 0.0870 0,0866 0.0870 0.0870 0,0867 0.0870 0.0870 0,0868 0.0870 0.0870 0.0869 0.0870 0.0870 0.0870 0.0870 0.0870 0.0871 0.0870 0.0870 0.0872 0.0870 0.0870 0.0873 0.0870 0.0870 0,0874 0.0870 0.0870 0,0875 0.0880 0.0880 Note When the flare 0,0865. LabVIEW is wrong! However, LabVIEW was not wrong for 0.0855 or 0,0875. When I ran the code using the highlight feature, it turns out that the problem was the comparison function. It is said literally than 5<5 is="">5>.
I tested in LabVIEW 8.2 and LabVIEW 12. I use Windows XP SP3.
These numbers are not the only cases with this weird behavior. Other numbers are 0.1425, 0.1725 0.1745 and more. I don't see a drawing (or a reason!)
Can someone please test my code and report if you met the same behavior?
Enrique,
It is a fundamental issue with the help of the binary representation over for numbers. Event that you post and think that numbers like decimal representations, the computer stores in a binary format. As 0.0045 or 0.004 number can be represented in binary format used by LabVIEW. Place a digital control on a new VI. Set the display format to show ~ 20 significant digits. Type in 0.004 or 0.0045 hit and hit enter.
0.0045-> 0.0044999999999999996600
The correct rounding for this value is 0.004. Of course typing 0.004 gives 0.004000000000000000080.
I don't have Excel so I don't know what it does, but it will have the same problem with approximate representations of numbers.
There are a lot of posts on the Forums about number representation.
In addition, the reason that the exact equality comparisons on the non-entier data types should be avoided or used with caution.

Math.Round all dimensions
Hi, guys. I need math.round sizes. For example:
"350 000 mm"-> "350 mm",
"420 001 mm"-> "420 mm"
"mm 419,97"-> "420 mm.
and so on. All in a script.
The thing is that I know how to play with the numbers and characters at the same time, I only know how math.round numbers.
Thank you.
There are different ways to solve this, one's of them
var s_number = "419.97 mm"; var delimeter = ' '; var a_number = s_number.split(delimeter); $.writeln(Math.round(a_number[0]) + delimeter + a_number[1]);

Used in forms for rule of rounding decimal values
I am trying to determine what district to separate the rule using forms of round numbers decimal, extracted from the database to display in a shorter length field. Specifically, when a number is equidistant from its neighbours (e.g. 0.5 is equidistant between 0 and 1), which rule is used to determine if she is rounded upwards or downwards (see this for a reference of the standard rounding rules)? The online help documentation addresses rounded, but does not specify what rounding rule is used (for example half away from zero, even half or 'Banker of the borough', etc.).
I tried to figure this out by trial and error, but make me inconsistent results. Here's my test case...
In the two test cases:
Database field is NUMBER (20.4)
Form field is numeric, length 30
Form field format mask, programmatically, set is FM999G999G999G999G999G999G999G999G999G999G999G990D90PR (i.e., round to 2 decimal places)
The form field displays the value of the field database directly
Test 1:
Database field value is 1.4445
Result: The screen displays the value as 1.44
Test 2:
Database field value is 1,445
Result: The field of the screen shows the value of 1.45
It's completely inconsistent. If 'half away from zero' or 'half of the odd' district were used, then the value 1 of the trial must be displayed as 1.45 (because the last 5 will round the previous 4 to 5 and repeat). On the other hand, if 'half zero' or 'half similarly' district were used, the value of Test 2 should be displayed as 1.44.
I understand that the values stored in the form are not rounded, and that this will not necessarily errors of calculation. However, it is necessary for purposes of documentation that I determine what the current rule used to display rounded values.
I use forms GR 11, 2.
I thought about it (by another user). My hypothesis rounded is not accurate: 1.4445 would like to round up to 1.44 mathematically, not 1.45 because 1.0045 is closer to 1 than 2. Therefore, Forms uses the standard rounded technology Oracle, which is:
- If
n
is 0, thenROUND
returns always 0 regardless of theinteger
. - If
n
is negative, thenROUND
(n, all) returns -ROUND
(-n, whole). - If
n
is positive, then ROUND (n, integer) = FLOOR (n * POWER(10, integer) + 0.5) * POWER (10, - all over)

Panel - round to 3 decimal places
I create technical Illustrations with Amnesty International. I shoot dimensions copying and pasting the information on the control panel. The control panel displays currently to 4 decimal places. How can I upgrade 3? If there is not a preference, or a simple adjustment, is there anyone out there, I can pay to change my copy of Illustrator for me? He slows me substantially to manually have to round numbers.

Hello
I'm working on a real estate site. Most monthly apartment rental rates are round numbers like $950, however a few have odd prices like $1070,76 (where the need for decimal data type in MySQL).
On the page where are all the apartment ads, what I want to do is to remove the decimal point and zeroes if the number is round because all zeros are distracting (and useless). For example:
I have this code snippet:
If ($r-> maxRent == 0) {}
$price = ' requested rent $';
$price. = $r-> minRent;
$price. = "monthly";
} else {}
$price = ' requested rent $';
$price. = $r-> minRent;
$price. = '-';
$price. = $r-> maxRent;
$price. = "monthly";
}
Which shows this:
Ask the rent 810, 00-950, 00 per month
1070.76 rental request - $1200.00 per month
Asking rent $1335,00 per month
But I want things to be displayed like this:
Rental $810-950 per month
1070.76 rental request-$1200 per month
Rental $1335 per month
What I have to do it work with regular expressions (Voodoo!) or is there another way? I am currently in a situation where I have to use outdated versions instead of all (PHP 4.1.2 / MySQL 3.23) if that makes a difference in this case.
I looked through my books and I tried Googling & forums for an answer to the search, but I'm not sure of exactly what I should look for, so I won't have a bit of luck. Any help would be greatly appreicated.
Kind regards
Bev

Just use round() to give a round for all rents figure. However, if
you want to do it your way, add this function to your script:function checkEven ($val) {}
return preg_match ("/ \d+\.00 /', $val")? number_format ($val, 0):
number_format ($val, 2);
}Then change your code to do this:
If ($r-> maxRent == 0) {}
$price = ' requested rent $';
$price. = checkEven ($r-> minRent);
$price. = "monthly";
} else {}
$price = ' requested rent $';
$price. = checkEven ($r-> minRent);
$price. = '-';
$price. = checkEven ($r-> maxRent);
$price. = "monthly";

There are a few places where you fall slightly below the other criterion of reference you quote interesting. In almost all, you beat the other criterion of reference. Both are running on the Mac Pro 5.1 systems. You run 10.11, the other criterion of reference is running 10.10. You have all the memory slots populated four, which is known to slow down the memory access to as much as ten percent in round numbers. The other criterion of reference is on a Mac with 3 slots populated interlaced in an optimal way.
Entire perfomance, only a few in multi-core very complex operations such as AES (encryption instructions), Sobel, Lua, Djistra in below the other criterion of reference - all others are faster.
In the floating point operations, all yours are faster.
Access memory, single pole are slightly slower, multi-core are quite a bit slower.
It's possible the tests were not built as the playing field for the newest processor, or changes in system 10,11 libraries have slowed some operations. The difference of memory can be mostly down to your use of the fourth shared memory slot. I would certainly ask the developer to test on these differences.
Overall, I would say that the performance of the two systems on this test are almost comparable.
