router ea6200

I just installed an ez6200 router everything is fine except in the list of dhcp reservation, it will only accept a known mac address entry. It keeps giving me "invalid mac address. I have the address printed from the printer that I want to book the address but will not accept the address.

I can't find a faQ or any information about the process and how it helps to solve a problem of mac address entry.

Hello! You did to be sure that the correct format for the MAC address has been followed? You can actually check this link for steps on how to do it properly, http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=b3d06f6582db4827a385b696e353eb16_How_to_configure _... Hope that helps.

  • I can't reach 1 Gbps internet with router ea6200

    Hello

updated to 1 Gbps internet from my ISP and I have a few problems getting the speed of 1000 Mbps. The speeds are now better than before, but they extend nearly 100 Mbps and come close even 500 Mbps.

I tried to download on a SSD computer with i7 processor.

I have disabled media prioritization. No fix for my router to work faster?

Yes, your ISP server will provide the best test of speed and that's normal.

You mention that when you connect the adapter even to the router lan ports it sinks up to 100 MB/s. This indicates a defective cable. To test the use of cable that you used to connect to a modem to connect to the lan router and see what it connects to.

  • Slow wireless

I recently replaced an E2500 router with router EA6200 on the advice of the Linksys technical support due to the low speed wireless.  Both routers with the same problem.  When I check the status of the wireless connection, it displays a speed of 150 MB, however, when I check my speed on speedtest.net, I get only a download speed in the range of 20 MB compared to speeds approach 60 Mbs during the connection through the Ethernet cable from the router or modem.  I spent more than 4 hours with technical support two days ago, but they were unable to resolve the problem.  Since I have a neighbor with a wireless setup, I took my laptop to his house, connected to its wi - fi network (it has a different brand of rouetr) and got speeds approaching 60 Mbs.  Also, I took his router at home, set up and was more get download speeds in the range of 60Mbs.  This seems to indicate a router issue rather than a problem with the wifi of my tow computer adapters.  If anyone has had similar experiences and, if so, how to solve them.  If I can't solve the problem, I'll have to return the new router, and as my neighbor has to buy a.  Any help would be appreciated.

Linksys routers should work with any network adatper if the drivers are up-to-date.

I go for a replacement or get into an improved model. The E series is getting older and not much evolved on more. The EA is more recent.

    Good luck.

  • Firefox and a Linksys router

I run a bed and breakfast. I have a router Linksys (EA6200). Thanks to the support of Linksys, I found solutions to help the login page appear for my guests in IE and Google Chrome. Unfortunately, it is still not load in Firefox.

I want this to work just like when you go to a café or restaurant of fast food with the WiFi. I don't want to tell clients that they must do this or that if it is really simple to do.

Any reason, why this does not work in Firefox and how to fix?

jsher2000, you're awesome, but I guess you've heard this before. Bypass cache (Ctrl + Shift + R) didn't work, but put them in another URL worked like a charm.

    PROBLEM SOLVED!

  • Help upgrading from EA6200 to EA6400

    Hello

I'm upgrading to a Linksys EA6200 to an EA6400, is there a way to save all the settings of the EA6200 and the restoration of the EA6400? I want to keep my MAC filtering and all my settings of the EA6200. Don't know if is still possible but had to ask.

    Thank you

Hi jlruiz2k. It is not recommended to do given that two routers have different firmware so different compatilbility with parameters. What you can do, it's just copy all of your settings tab and even entry once you're on the same tab in the new configuration of the router page.

  • EA6200 DNS / DHCP reservation

Hello.  I recently replaced my old router with a Linksys EA6200, and I'm having a little trouble getting a local DNS is working properly.

On my network, I like to set up DHCP reservations to make it easier to find certain machines.  For example, let's say I have a DHCP reservation for 192.168.1.101 for a machine called "bob".  DHCP seems to assign the IP address to the machine, so that part seems to work very well.  But the DNS server of the router does not have "bob."  It worked well on each other router I've owned.  Any ideas what I'm missing?

OK, I think I knew what was going on, but I'll leave this here case that someone else has the same problem. It seems that my clients were still on my old router dhcp lease, so they had not recorded. Forcing them to renew their dhcp lease seems to correct the problem.

  • Linksys off EA6200 5 GHz

    Hi all

I have a question regardin the 5 GHz on my router. I recently bought the Linksys EA6200 router with control at two speeds. I am the administrator of the configuration of the router and I have disabled the 5 GHz router (please don't ask why, I have my reasons). In two days, my internet service providers go back to my place to fix the internet port on my wall in my living room and transfer the router to one of the rooms in the living room. The internet port on the wall did not work when we moved, so I called them to come out and fix it in 2 days. My question is: after he goes back the router/modem to the living room, he or someone else living in my place will be able to tell that I have disabled the 5 GHz network? Currently, it does not appear on the "Possible networks to join the list" and wonder if it will be displayed after the move? Please help me. I want to remain disabled even after the move and do not want the people I live with, to know that I have turned off. (once again, please don't ask for details, it's a story for another day ha ha).

power to move down should not affect the configuration. A hard reset will be the default settings for all your configs will be lost and the 5 GHz is activated as it was when you got the router. So as long as the technology is not to do a hard reset, you should be ok. The technology would need your password to see what you've done as long as you don't give them that it should be ok too.

  • Two wifi routers EA6200 having connection problems.

I had a single wifi router configuration EA6200 and it was working fine but it has not reached the corner of my house. I decided to buy a second EA6200 in an attempt to expand coverage wifi and nothing else that problems have had since then. I tried several configurations and there are always questions where wifi is either very slow or cut all together. I tried to configure the routers by using the options listed in the manual. We'll call it the router connected directly to the modem ROUTER1 and ROUTER2 upstairs router.

I connect both routers via a power adapter line I used for a while since I rent and can't pass the cables through the walls. I have one of the LAN ports on ROUTER1 connected to port WAN on ROUTER2 and ROUTER2 clipping value. I tried with ROUTER2 get his address IP of ROUTER1 automatically and I also tried to set a static IP address on ROUTER2, but I always had connection problems. I also tried one of the LAN ports on ROUTER1 connecting to one of the LAN on ROUTER2 ports. I put a static IP address on ROUTER2 and disabled DHCP. For both configurations, I tried to have the same SSID and password for both routers so that I can roam and connect automatically to the strongest signal and at first I put the automatic channel selection. I still had problems connecting so I tried to change the SSID of the router and change the SSID for the bands of 2.4 and 5 GHz and I tried to adjust the channels myself no conflicting channels and I still have problems.

Again, the problems I encounter are failure intermittent wifi where it disconnected completely from the wifi but will reconnect then slow connection speeds not long after but also intermittent. Also, I have several chromecast dongles on the TVs in my house and they also periodically lose the connection to the network and have a lot of buffering issues. These problems disappear with a single connected router. I also tried to reset both routers and disconnect and plug my modem at the factory.

All the ideas, because I don't see anything else to try?

    Bilz says:

If I understand you correctly I tried already. I connected the LAN to LAN and used the static IP you listed for the second router. I put the SSID for the 5 GHz band were the same for both routers and used a different SSID for 2.4 GHz bands, but it's still the same on both routers. I used the Wifi Analyzer app to determine the best channels for my router and I put them all channels different worms. I don't know if I used specifically 1, 6 or 11, however. It would make a difference? For example if I used chanells 4 and 6 for 2.4 GHz bands, do you think that this would have caused some of my questions?

Not quite. All SSIDs 4 must be different. You can be the cause of the camera jump back using the same ssid. So it could be xxxxx_24p and xxxxx_24s and even for the 5 GHz. xxxxx_5p and xxxxx_5s

  • A XBox and EA6200 does not connect

So I stay on the college campus and I am connected to wifi in my apartment, but I realized that the wifi was slow stupid so I decided to plug a router via the internet port in my room. I used a box of Netgear and it worked well with my laptop and the phone but I also tried to connect my Xbox and it worked for one night and stopped. I tried everything out of the Xbox support site, so I don't think it's my Xbox. So I opted for the EA6200 Linksys box and I set up my laptop and phone and it worked even faster than the netgear box. So I thought that my Xbox would be in contact with it for now, but it didn't. He appeared as one of my damage, but it says offline. Honestly I don't know what more can be done, I don't know if it's the internet connection in my apartment or what, but my Xbox won't connect to any kind of internet. Should I change all the parameters of the router to help him?

    Thank you.

Have you tried plugging the Xbox via an Ethernet cable to the router?

  • EA6200 password set in place the problem

    Hello!

I tried to put in place my EA6200 or the first time. I did everything as it is written in the guide. I went to http://linksyssmartwifi.com/, accepted the terms and choose the manual set up. After that came an error page and I have to close the window. Since then whenever I open the page, it is requested a router password (that I had not put in place). 'admin' it doesn't work. I tried the reset but it did not help. I always get the following massage:

    Help, please!

    LACI

Unplug your unit from ISP to the internet port of the router.

Reset the default router. He now mentions the reset for only 10 but button to her for 30.

Then follow the setup procedures or else that it is plugged into the internet port of the router.

  • EA6200 IS NOT WITH THE HELP OF STATIC DNS

I had the EA6200 weeks and set up out of a NVG589 of TA &T; has not worked well, no problem at all using the AT & T modem as the DNS server.  I just noticed that there is an update of firmware for this model, up to 1.1.41.164830; so, I got the router install it.  But now I was making errors on all my devices, saying that the DNS server is not responding.  I have sailed on the section of 'Connectivity' and the 'Local network' tab and my static DNS is as it was before the update of the firmware.  But when I connect a device to the router, the network parameters show that she tries to use the network personalized ID I have install the router, rather than the static DNS that I've locked in the router settings.

The only way I am able to get online and write this message from my laptop now is because I had to go into CMD and put the static DNS for the laptop computer, manually, to the IP address of the modem from AT & T.  DHCP should be handling this according to my settings, but it's not.

If anyone has experienced this before? Is this a firmware issue? Should I go back or understand this?

before you go back, try a factory reset by pressing the Red reset button until it restarts, then cut off the power. After 10 seconds the power turn on and when it is completely started config it from scratch and it should be ok. Of course this will eliminate all the settings you had including the password which will then return to "admin" be aware of this before you start.

  • EA6200 care about my phone line when it is connected to the dsl line

Why the EA6200 router cause my phone line to busy out when I try to connect my ADSL line in the router? My Netgear is working with the same configuration. Do I need an extra modem? If the NetGear router is a modem/router and the Linksys is not?

    Thank you

Yes, I hope that you don't damage the EA6200 connect the telephone line. Probably not well.

  • Two Linksys EA6200 at the same time

Hi all, I bought two routers Linksys EA6200. Before buying, I have read the manual and confirmed that it can act as a wireless (bridge mode) access point. I had no problem setting up one as a router and connect to the internet via the modem from my ISP. Then I tried to set up the other as a wireless access point so that other devices can connect to the internet through it, but it didn't work. The two networks are separated despite having the same SSID configuration.

This configuration was working with a point of access to another brand and I am surprised that it does not work with this router. What I am doing wrong?

Yes even I know the EA6200 does not support the Wireless Bridge Mode.

  • EA6200 bandwidth downstream?

    Hi all

I just got the Linksys EA6200 router for my apartment. In my apartment, we have 3 laptops, 3 iPhones, iPad 1 and 1 google chromecast. For the prioritization of media, I have the google chromecast, 1 laptop and 1iPhone. How will I know what should be the bandwidth downstream? Currently, it is set at 43037 Kbps. What is the right number? What Kbps number should it be fixed to to get the maximum benefit for the devices listed in the prioritization of media? Thank you!

No I leave where it is. When this happens the laptop makes streaming, or something that should use a lot of bandwidth? With what you have set, it must be able to handle it all at the same time with little effort.

  • Tips to add a VPN router to my current network configuration

    Dear all

My apologies if the answer to this question already exists, however, I searched in many situations and none seem to match what I'm after.

I currently have an ISP modem/router in Bridge mode connected to a TC of Apple which is my wireless router, I have 2 Express airport connected to this acting as the extensors of the range.  I have a VPN service through the MyPrivate network I activate on the desired device when required and everything works fine.

What I want to do now is to be able to use my AppleTV and burning Amazon via the VPN as well so you need to add a VPN router in the configuration.  I want to finish with 2 wireless networks running together for these devices who need VPN and those who are not.  I don't want to lose the opportunity to extend the network to express it however airport.

If someone could explain to me if this is possible and if so how do I set up the network.

    Thanks in advance

    Mark

Basically you would need a device that supports VPN-passthrough and VLANS for your goals of networking. MyPrivate network, seems to be a VPN SSL, which is a user-server configuration. In other words, you install a client VPN on your Mac and you connect to the VPN network MyPrivate server to establish a VPN tunnel.

Networking two or more "separated", should be using a router that supports VLAN services. Each segment of VIRTUAL local area network, in essence, would be a separate, she either wired or wireless network or a combination of both. This would probably be the 'easiest' part for the installation program.

Now how combining the two would be the question, and I don't know what would be the best way, or even if it is possible.

    A few thoughts:

    • Use a router that supports VLANS. Create at least two VIRTUAL LAN segments. One for Apple TV & Burns, one for Internet access in general. Connect the device to VPN client host on the first segment, and configure for Internet sharing.
    • Download a dedicated VPN network application that supports hosting of third-party VPN clients, like yours. You would still need a router that supports VLAN to provided separate network segments.
    • Hire a consultant network. Let them know what you the goals of networking and ask them to offer potential solutions.
