  I am running Windows Vista: Home Premium (32 bit). By mistake I deleted the "Desktop" icon from the folder of the user and it caused all the folders with files have disappeared from the office. I tried several recovery programs, including Recuva, but no trace of these folders and files were found. I suppose they might not actually be deleted recovery programs have been unable to find them. When I try to search for them, their shortcuts (never created by me) are, but they do not lead to files. I suppose there could be problems with indexing, but I do not know and do not know what to do next.

  You may think it is... but we'll see... In Explorer, go to
  C:\Users\ (assuming that C: is the drive for your operating system). You should see a
  Icon on the desktop. Right click on the desktop icon. Do you see a named tab
  'Location' (if not you have not restored Desktop).

  I recently bought an old computer from a friend and the first months I just signed in as his name.  I saved some video files and photos for windows 8 connected under his name.  After a few months, I got tired of seeing his name at startup then I set up my own account.  When I did the whole upward, it says no files would be lost.

  Now, Miss me all the files I had saved.  The only name that exists now on this computer, it is my own... my friends name disappeared.

  I lost these files forever?  Is it possible to recover?

  I use Samsung laptop computer with Windows 7 (Home edition) running on it, and recently I restored my Windows using the built-in Restore tool Samsung earlier restore point.

  I have had 2 drives IE C: and D: drive. Previously, windows has been installed in the C: drive and I kept my n drive D: personal data. After the successful restoration I don't see my personal data in the D: drive and I see that all drive C: files were copied on the D: drive (C: all files on the system disc such as Program FIles, windows, Documents, and settings etc.) and new windows were installed in drive C :

  I can't see any of my personal files and folder and I would like to get them back because they were very important to me.

  Can someone help me how do to recover my files and personal files that were saved in the D: drive earlier?

  You can probably resolved problem, but doing so through this forum is not realistic. You ask a computer-savvy friend to help you by looking at your machine or giving him access to your machine remotely. You should also check your philosophy of backup. Having very important files without an external backup is a contradiction, that you have to solve.

  the last two weeks, I created and saved the files .doc in a folder in my documents, when I open the folder the new documents do not exist. All older documents and those that were recently modified are not affected.

  I can access the files by author in the recent documents list, check the properties and the save location is correct. Also if I try to send one of these documents from Windows Mail to join the files also are missing. I can save the file to the desktop and send it from there ok.

  Thanks for the reply with more information.

  As you mentioned, you were able to launch the recent files through Kingsoft writer, I suggest you start the same files through any other application such as Microsoft Word or Wordpad. Check if you are able to view the files.

  If you are able to run the files through any other application, I suggest to rename the files that you recently saved and check the results.

  I hope that you are not in a surprise but a MacBook Air not backup to iCloud. It can record data in iCloud drive (if you saved it specifically to this place) and can synchronize Photos, Contacts, etc to iCloud if you had set it to do. You can use any computer and connect to https://www.icloud.com/ to see what is stored. I hope this is good news and that it contains what you hope.

  BCM42RLY is a Broadcom network card driver. I suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the drivers and check if it helps.

  I recently moved a catalog from a PC to a mac (after 5 years using PES on PC). I transferred (using process catering PSE11 catalog) 25 000 + photos everywhere following the instructions from adobe and was all working perfectly for a few weeks.

  Pictures of my catalog have recently become "missing files". The catalogue is available in a custom on the internal drive being location ' / users/marcus/photos/adobe/Organizer/media/media /'

  pse11 now think that the location is

  ' / volumes/audience/users/marcus/photos/adobe/Organizer/media/media /'

  The /volumes/ directory contains references to files on network drives (and appear under "Shared" in the finder). I have no idea how PSE11 decided to think all ther catalog files were on a network drive.

  When I manually reconnect the file, then the program returns the error "the file exists in the catalog.
