Router without wire and/or alteration external Modem broadband

Hello community,

I have a strong feeling that my router wireless or modem broadband external has been hacked, or at the very least, is manipulated by someone else.  For example, my wireless Internet has suddenly been lost between 10 and 15 times during the month of November (and there was no climate to cause this). Also, when I use my laptop especially in early evening, the wireless Internet connection disappears suddenly. When I call the ISP and an agent to make a diagnosis of the problem, the Internet connection will be back. However, as soon as the conversation of the agent is complete, the wireless Internet will fall and does not return until the next day (and it happened again last night, Monday, December 3, 2012). It is no coincidence and therefore provide evidence that my wireless router and/or the model external broadband is falsification by someone else.  Furthermore, my office is connected to an external modem via the wireless router and use a connection to the local network to the Internet.  However, to have been taken when the Internet connection suddenly disappeared as well. Whenever I have troubleshoot with Windows 7, it will diagnose that there is a "problem with the adapter or wireless access point, but can not solve the problem."

In regards to my wireless router, I made a critical mistake do not change the username and the word common for her when the router was first installed in April 2011. I changed the two this summer, something is flooded with my wireless Internet misadventures.  Also, I noticed that when I connect to my wireless router (brand and model: TP-LINK-WR941ND) and have completed all the changes in the configuration, there is no logout key to engage. Upon his return to the home page and resume immediately the IP address of the router, access is still open.  I have to close the browser and then come back before my user name and security key (e.g., password) are required for access. Also, I checked the router DHCP clients list to see if it is accessed by others, but my office and the physical address of the laptop is shown alone. Should I get a new wireless router or have my ISP change the modem broadband, or both?  Your ideas on how to fix this problem is appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

MoPete

Hi Mopete,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community. According to the description provided, looks like you want to know why the connection Wi - Fi and internet is disconnected frequently.

You checked the list of DHCP clients and only the recognized IP address is your desktop and laptop computers. This means that the router is not accessible by anyone else.

Once the configuration of the router, the browser should be closed and reopened for the security settings enabled on the router, so it's normal.

If the router is disconnected frequently, you may need to update the firmware of the router.

Visit this link and click on the version number you are using and check if the router is upgraded to the latest firmware.

  • A wireless router, without a modem?

    Hello HP Support Forums users,

I have a question about setting up a wireless router. I was wondering if it was possible to put in place, without going through a modem. Currently, I connect to the internet by plugging a cable Ethernet, CAT5 port on my wall, and then plug the cable on the side of my laptop. Right now I have a disabled and I need my laptop to be able to spend my small office. So, is it possible to configure a WiFi router without a modem?

Yes, simply plug the CAT5 Ethernet cable into the WAN or Internet port on the wireless router.  That's what Verizon for their FIOS service.

    Hello

I have a problem with my Satellite Pro A60-832. Everything works perfectly, but sometimes my system starts without sound. When this happends, modem also does not work. After reboot, everything works well again. I integrate Windows XP Pro SP2, but the same thing was happening with the original Windows XP Pro SP1 provided in the Toshiba Recovery CD.
    Any ideas?

    Sorry for my bad English.

As mentioned, a high temperature might be responsible for these drop-outs, but I n t think that there is a problem in your case.
I think that the temperature cannot be very high immediately after the start of the laptop.

In case I would recommend comparing the BIOS installed on the unit you with available on the Toshiba page BIOS.
If there is a new version of the BIOS so you can try to update.
But be sure you use the good BIOS and the proper procedure.

A router is a device that connects computers (or other type of computer
devices) to each other on a network and you can send files
from one computer to the other. It does not connect to the internet, and
you need a device called a modem vaguely to do this. The modem also
connects to the router and allows the computers on the network
(those connected to the router) to connect to the internet.

However, note that there are some available devices that are
router-modem combination. If your router is of this type, you do not have
    need a modem.

When I turn on the laptop the wifi connection can work for 10-30 minutes, but then the down network access but remains connected with limited access.
Then restart the connection will have access limited the offset.
In addition, sometimes the available wireless connections do not show in the networks available on the windows toolbar.
When you use the Ethernet cable connected to my router there is no problem.

I have searched the forums for help on this and have already tried without success, the following

Updated driver: issue date may 2010
Verify that TCP/IP has been installed to automatically obtain the IP and DNS
    Disabled firewall
    Reset the modem
Countless reboots of the modem and the laptop

Wireless modem/router works perfectly as I can connect with other devices and laptops.
Is it a problem that we see on a regular basis with this combination of laptop card / without wire/operating system?
Would appreciate any guidance you can give me as it becomes very frustrating.

  • MAC address filtering problem with router DI-624 and printer HP D110

Just got the wireless D110 printer and cannot connect to the wireless router.

    I have a D - Link DI - 624 Air Plus Xtreme G 2 .4GHz Wireless Router.

The error message I get from the printer, it's that "address filtering Mac can be activated on your wireless router. This can prevent your HP printer to connect to your network without wire during installation... etc. ".

The D-Link is configured with WPA - PSK security. If I disable all the security the wireless printer is able to connect. I can't connect the printer to the wireless router with WPA - PSK or WEP same active. There is no connection with the electrician the printer and the router.

I have connected the router Admin and have repeatedly confirmed that Mac filtering is turned off by going to Advanced Options > Filters > filters Mac > and choose disabled Mac filters. Where is this setting? Why is not able to connect printer?

In addition, I check the logs on the router and it shows "Wireless PC connected" and "Authentication successful" with a note that has the Mac address of the corresponding hardware address mac hardware of the printer on the wireless network Test report. It seems that the router is to let printing but the printer is not able to communicate for some reason any. It even shows under status > wireless printer is connected.

When I talked to HP, they said to contact the router company and they couldn't help. When I called D-Link, they said technical support is no longer available for the model. I am stuck, can anyone help?

Windows XP, tried the front of the printer and USB connection and using the software.

After a few hours on the phone with the D-Link and HP, the problem has been resolved.

Apparently, even if that Mac filtering is disabled (set to disabled MAC filters), the Mac address had to enter the router to enable all keeping off Mac filter setting. To me he appeared in the counter intuitive to enter the Mac address, while set to disabled the Mac filter so I wasn't that before picking up the phone with HP. Further on this point, the problem is not going away right after adding the mac address, but rather after the reboot of the router, such as the addition of mac address did not effect, without a reboot of the device.

HP has been much more useful than a D-Link on it, although it would be nice for HP to add to their instructions and Test report of wireless network to add the Mac address, just in case. I would have tried this step if it has stated that it is acceptable to add the mac address and keep the mac filters disabled.

  • VPN connection with external modem

    Cisco 2651XM router

using a wic adsl card I was able to establish a vpn connection from a computer on to my 2651xm router cisco vpn client successfully, but I can't get a connection using an external modem.

My local network at the end of the vpn server is on 172.16.1.xx and goes into the router on f0/0, which stood at 172.16.1.30.

Port f0/1 is 192.168.1.100 and goes to an external modem set as default gateway

192.169.1.254. with this configuration I can surf the internet on the computers in the lan at the server end.

Problem is that I can't get a connection from a remote machine VPN connect. It worked when I used the wic adsl connection, but then I used only

the port of f0/0 that was connected to my local network. But now I'm including the f0/1 port to connect to an external modem, vpn client cannot connect. The cisco vpn client tries to connect by using tcp on port 10000 and I have to configure it in the modem, but do not know if I did it correctly. I tried to transmit the port both 192.168.1.100 (f0/1) and 172.16.1.30 (f0/0), but neither will not work. My config running is attached. Thanks for the pointers.

On the ADSL Modem, you must before 500, port 4500 UDP and 10,000 to the IP address of the router.

Basically, tell you the Modem to 192.168.1.100 transmitting any packet received on 192.169.1.254.

  • r7000 router cannot reset and unable to connect more.

    Hello

I just bought this router for capacities of bridges in my student apartment.

I connected by wire and the first disappointment, I discovered that you can not use safety in bridge mode? It seems insane to me because that way no matter who can connect to it or the hack.

I changed the connectivity in AP mode, after which I lost the connection to the router. I'm trying to reset the router to its factory settings by pressing the reset button. This does not seem to do something good. I can still see the SSID name which I changed and I can't connect to the screen routerlogin. Is this broken thing already? I have a great experience with the netgear switches, but this seems to * beep *. What is going on.

Determined to RMA it to the store. They played sort of an update of the firmware (no idea how because I couldn't access interface).

    It works perfectly now.

Pretty weird, but it does not work out of the box.

    Thnx all.

  • PXI-5421 Signal routing to PFI4 and PFI5

    Hello

I am trying to route bits 0 and 1 of a waveform I generated using a PXI-5421 AWG group work PFI5 and PFI4 respectively for the ports. What seems to happen, this is the first installation is written the second set so that only one PFI port is set up. I've attached a screenshot of a section of the configuration of the VI. Can two bits of a waveform being routed to two ports separated the IFP at the same time?

    Thank you

    Steve

    Hi Steve,.

Yes.  There is data on the PXI-5421 4 markers, and each can be configured with unique values for each of the attributes of data marker.  To set up the markers of data independently, you must specify a 'Active Channel' for the polarity of marker data and number of bits attributes.  So in your example, you would just need to add an entry "Active Channel" on your property node above the attributes of marker of both data and wiring in the "datamarker0" to set up the first brand of data and the "datamarker1" for the second.  "NiFgen waveform Arb marker" shows how to do this.  Do not wire the active channel range cause really all markers 4 data to configure when the value of each attribute of data marker.

    Hope that helps.

  • Pavilion g6-2215sia: CARD without WIRE NOT DETECTED AFTER UPDATE BIOS

Recently I have updated my BIOS on my laptop HP Pavilion g6-2215sia think he'll adjust the hardware acceleration feature missing in my system (there is no option in my BIOS to enable virtualization technology). My BIOS version was F.12 and I've updated to F.24, but after update BIOS all my wireless functionality no longer works (including my wifi and bluetooth), and still there is no option to enable virtualization technology in my BIOS settings. On my Windows 8.1 x 64 Pro wifi and bluetooth options are grayed out so I can't turn them on or off. I tried to reinstall my bluetooth driver, but the software says that it doesn't detect any bluetooth hardware. Even when I restart and boot in all my Linux distributions installed on my system (Ubuntu, Quina and Kali Linux) and my x 86 Android, they still do not detect my wireless capability (says Ubuntu, "wifi is disabled by hardware switch").

To confirm that this was not a software problem, I has conducted an audit of start-up and tested for my wireless module and got this result, "without WIRE MODULE CHECK: NOT INSTALLED". The only way I can get my Windows operating system to recognize my wireless (wifi and bluetooth) is now by doing a hard reset, when I unplug my laptop from the power supply, remove the battery and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. When I turn on my system, then I can turn my wifi/bluetooth on my Windows. But if I restart my system the problem comes back and I can't turn on my wireless. So basically, I have to avoid questioning my system off and only Hibernate, so that whenever I turn on my laptop I can use the wireless. If I restart my system so I have to repeat the hard reset in order to use my wifi/bluetooth, which can be very annoying.

The problem is that I often use my other Linux disributions and I have to restart before starting in them so that my readers will be mounted read/write, and when I do my Linux can not detect my wireless and it's a serious pain for me because I need to use my wireless often for internet connection.

Please I really need help on how to fix this and get my wireless working normally without having to do a hard reset every time. I tried to restore my BIOS F.12 unfounded but I don't have the image file (I extensively searched the Internet to find, but does not). I've even updated again to F.26 but I still have the same problem (my current version of BIOS is F.26).

If you see no updates the BIOS in your list of drivers - where do you have the updates to the BIOS, you used?

Try here - if you do not see the list of the BIOS, use the "Edit" button to change Windows 8.1 to Windows 8:
