  Recently, when I send an e-mail message by using Outlook Express 6.0 three things happen:

  Your sent items folder is corrupted.  Move or copy messages from the folder that you want to keep.  Then close OE and delete the file sent items.dbx and outbox.dbx (hidden).  OE will then create new ones, and that should solve the problem.

  Because your files has been corrupted, you might consider backup before they get completely corrupt and in addition, you could go to file | Identities and setup a new identity.  This will give you a base of new messages, not corrupted, and you then go to file | Import | Messages and import them from the old identity.

  I have set up three rules of e-mail in Outlook Express 6 for four e-mail accounts so that incoming emails go to a certain folder depending on which mail account, it is sent to (the fourth goes to the Inbox).  My problem is that if someone sends an email to multiple recipients, i.e. at the address #1 and CC address #2 and #3 address, I get the email as many times as there are beneficiaries in each folder, in this case three copies per issue, for a total of nine copies of the same message.  Why does this happen?  Is this because all four addresses are set up with the same host and so are one in the same?

  How do I get an email to the appropriate folder, without receiving multiple, including when someone is CC had?

  First, create a local folder to be used as a second Inbox and name it anything you want. (Reception-2 box)?  Use it to one of the accounts, as well as the default Inbox for the other. Add more as needed.
   
  Then create a message rule.
   
  Where the message comes from the specified account.
  Move it to the specified folder & stop processing more rules.
  Click: specified account and enter the account name for the second Inbox.
  Click: specified folder and select the folder that you created.
  Name the rule.
   
  Move this rule at the top of the list of rules , and incoming messages will be separated into their respective folders.

  Seprate on the TEXT of Messages with the messages app open (the list of messages displayed), press the BB button and select Options. Then select General Options. It is near the bottom of the first section-'SMS and email Inboxes' change to 'separate '.

  To hide sent Messages... same screen... just above the separation of the boxes.

  I think I can now answer my own question! The question turns out to be a g-mail not delivered not a factor controlled by Thunderbird.

  Apparently g-mail can automatically a copy of all mail sent by SMTP service one account. It's a "feature" that cannot be disabled! A workaround seems to be to set up a filter in g-mail account settings for all mail with an address corresponding to your own email address and send the message to the trash folder. Items in the Recycle Bin are automatically deleted after 30 days. Google prevents the rule 30 days being modified by measure of security, but at least trashed messages for irrevocably removed in a month.

  Try to remove the message via webmail or move it to a different folder on the server.
  It is highly unlikely that the update of TB is the cause. It is more likely Avast is playing with Thunderbird files.
  So the Thunderbird profile folder should not be scanned by anti-virus software.

  Turn off email scanning in your anti virus program. Is that what you use?

  Leave the mail to download and you can probably turn it back on. This used to be a preferred party of Norton thing, but I guess that if can do that all their possible.

  My wife is the buyer for our company. She will begin an email to a provider at some point in the day and will build on it all day, alternating between enamel and the sites of system and catalogues and supplier of Point of sale (and other unrelated things) until she is satisfied with its agenda, then it will send it offshore. The drafts folder becomes very full.

Can't download at the end, as refreshment shows always the same amount still on the server to download, even after downloading the same message several times. This has happened several times in the past months, with several duplicates, but not this loop continues. This is the second time in a week where this has happened.
