Running command Perl external Windows Server - Grid Control 11g remote

Hello
I'm new to the forum and had a quick question: if I have access to a Windows host is there anyway that I could run an external Perl command if Active Perl isn't already installed on the remote server in Windows? I doubt due to the external command from the command line, but I thought it might be a way.
Basically, I want to write a little Perl program and run it on a remote server via Grid Control 11 g. TIA!

When you run a job from the OEM Console, it is performed by the Agent that is running on the server where you want to run the task.
The Home Agent directory includes an installation of perl, so I guess it shouldn't be a problem.

    Help & Support:

    That became the command run?

The run command no longer appears on the start menu in this version of Windows. The search box that appears in the start menu provides much of the same functionality as the command run. However, the command run is still available if you prefer to use. You can even add it to the start menu for easier access.

To add the run command to the start menu
Click to open the taskbar and Start Menu Properties.

Click the Start Menu tab, and then click Customize.

In the list of options on the start menu, select the command box run and then click OK. Run the command will appear on the right side of the start menu.

    Tip:
You can also access the command run by pressing the logo Windows + R key.

    Thanks for your help.

Please don't get me wrong: but I just wanted to be sure that you have installed WLS 10.3.2 (and not 10.3.x).

Did you install patch WDJ7 as well? If you check the article ID [1063762.1] in MOS, you will find the notice:

Important: You must apply the WDJ7 Patch to the WLS home before the installation/upgrade of the Grid control. Refer to Note 1072763.1 for instructions on how to apply the patch online/offline to WLS.

No, Control 11g Grid can handle 2.2. The next version of the Grid control will support Oracle VM 3.0.

  • Download the invalid software from OTN for Grid Control 11g on Linux x86_64

    Hello

I want to test Oracle Grid Control 11g, but among the files zip is invalid. This is the name of the file:

Decompression gives an error and also checksum is not the same as it appears on the OTN download site. Installation of Grid Control 11 g translates into I/O-error. Could you please fix the download file?

  • Requirements to install grid Controll 11g in Windows Server

    Hi guys,.

I met application Grid Control 11 g on Windows Server that has an installed database and Enterprise Manager configured.
I followed the official docs and viewing the video how to make the Grid control installation in OTN.
I deconfigured Enterprise Manager, then installed the JDK. I installed Oracle Grid Control, but I ended up installing Web Logic, Fusion Middleware and then next is the grid. I'm on the right track?

I remembered installing 10g grid and I just installed the grid and Agents.

I'm on the right track? Thank you!

The installation of OEM GC 11, you must first install WLS.
Make sure it's 10.3.2 because it's the only exit from suppored to OEM GC

Take a look at my Oracle SUpoprt note: step by step Installation of 11.1 Grid control * [1059516.1 ID] *.

  • Best choice to run a VM on Windows Server 2008 R2

We have an application which is decommisioned, and we have to stop the virtual machine at our data centre soon. Each of the components of our Organization pay for use services data center. Our development team needs to access the database of the application a few months after the date of the judgment.

What is my best option to run this VM?  I thought trying to install VM Player or workstation on one of our servers in development (Dell R710, Windows Server 2008 R2) and run the virtual machine in this way. Would this work? I can't buy a new server to run on ESXI 5 applications for a few months.

    Thank you

Hello and welcome to the communities.

Note: This discussion has been moved from nested virtualization to VMware Workstation community.

Running this VM Workstation or Player, you described, should work fine. You want to test and performance will be probably reduced, but it will certainly work.

    Good luck!

  • 10 GB running under LocalSystem on Windows Server 2003 account

    Hello

I have an Oracle 10 G database running on Windows Server 2003 SP2. I created the database and everything works fine, while the service is running under the local system account by default. However, when I change the user that the service is running in regards to a different account of the database starts and opens and I can log on as unreserved SYS using a connection but I'm unable to open a session any other user through the listener. The listener responds to TNSpings, and everything seems OK. When I turn it on to the local system user, yet once it all works very well.

Can anyone offer advice or assistance?

    Thank you
    Rob

It is probably because the listener is still running under the local system account. Have you tried changing the listener service runs under the same account as the Oracle service?

  • Grid Control 11g of the problems with the basic policy of RAC database

We have a group of three nodes 11 GR 2 (rac1, rac2, rac3) and a policy based RAC database 11 GR 2 (ORCL) with cardinality 2 (ORCL_1 and ORCL_2) on this group. Used to monitor the Control 11g Grid infrastructure. Founded political RAC databases are linked to the pools of the server and not to the cluster nodes, therefore, restart the cluster database instances can run on both on 3 nodes in the cluster. For example, if ORCL_1 is running ORCL_2 and rac1 rac2 Sir after a full reboot ORCL_1 and ORCL_2 can be run on rac2 and rac3 respectively. Binding of the pool with two special nodes will be as if we use database RAC database administrator and not the policy based.

Now the problem is that Grid Control registers the services in database with the node that is running the instance due to which, once the instances are started on a different node, she complained authorities are declining. We don't have to then reconfigure database instances and say Grid Control that they are now on another node. However, this removes the history of AWR for these instances.

Is there a solution to this problem?

    Kind regards

    Kashif.

    Hi koko,.

to work around this problem (I think that there is no "automatic" support in the current version of EM for switching hosts databases), you can create an ACTION_SCRIPT for your database cluster resource that is running the relocate_targets command emcli (so an emcli should be placed on all nodes of your and recorded with Super Administrator privileges). So every time you start your database resource, this script command / move the target to the current host without losing any historical information.

    Best regards
    Robert

Edit: You can find an example of the command emcli in this document written by Rob Zoeteweij: http://oemgc.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/manage-node-failover-in-an-active-passive-setup-using-oracle-enterprise-manager-grid-control1.pdf
In this scenario is an active/passive environment, but the command itself appies to your situation, too.

  • Grid Control 11g

    Hello

I want to install Oracle Enterprise Manager 11 g Grid Control Release 1 (11.1.0.1.0) new!
    for Microsoft Windows (32-bit)

Can it be installed on a windows 2008R2 64 bit?

    The doc says:
Do NOT try to install a 32-bit software on 64-bit platform, or vice versa; the installation can go ahead, but fails eventually. Therefore, be sure to use the download of the software for the platform on the right.

    I prefer to start on a 32-bit platform like windows 2003 32-bit.

    Kind regards

    Peter

    Hi Peter,.

No it can be installed only on 32-bit.

    Referring to the Matrix certification:
    =====================
    Connect to My Oracle Support:

    https://support.Oracle.com/CSP/UI/Flash.html

Click on the certification tab-->---> select Enterprise Manager to search---> select the version

    Hello Sylvia,.

You must decompress all the files in the same directory. Don't worry about records. Unzip tool will extract the files in the correct folders (will not overwrite the contents of the folder).

  • Grid Control 11g with 8i databases

    Hello

Means that they do not work in 11g GC or simply not supported?

    As per

Auditor Certification Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control [ID 412431.1]

OEM 10 G GRID supports 8.1.7.4. databases. And through Oracle 11 G grid will not support.

This means that you can continue to use, but in the case of any question, you will not be able to take the help of the Support of Oracle.

But I'm sure that you can monitor the database 8i with 11G grid.

I suggest you use the 10G agent for monitoring database 8i because with officials of 11 G you might face questions of database 8i.

  • Can I run RoboHelp 7 on Windows Server 2008 operating system?

Yes, I know that we are out of date, but not sure I can get to upgrade or not.

RoboHelp is not certified for use on any server operating system.

The license allows a single user on a client operating system, such as XP for RoboHelp 7. Not sure about Vista but it is not supported on Windows 7. It can work, and then you might find something broken. Your call on that.
