Grid Control 11g of the problems with the basic policy of RAC database

We have a group of three nodes 11 GR 2 (rac1, rac2, rac3) and a policy based RAC database 11 GR 2 (ORCL) with cardinality 2 (ORCL_1 and ORCL_2) on this group. Used to monitor the Control 11g Grid infrastructure. Founded political RAC databases are linked to the pools of the server and not to the cluster nodes, therefore, restart the cluster database instances can run on both on 3 nodes in the cluster. For example, if ORCL_1 is running ORCL_2 and rac1 rac2 Sir after a full reboot ORCL_1 and ORCL_2 can be run on rac2 and rac3 respectively. Binding of the pool with two special nodes will be as if we use database RAC database administrator and not the policy based.

Now the problem is that Grid Control registers the services in database with the node that is running the instance due to which, once the instances are started on a different node, she complained authorities are declining. We don't have to then reconfigure database instances and say Grid Control that they are now on another node. However, this removes the history of AWR for these instances.

Is there a solution to this problem?

Kind regards

Kashif.

Hi koko,.

to work around this problem (I think that there is no "automatic" support in the current version of EM for switching hosts databases), you can create an ACTION_SCRIPT for your database cluster resource that is running the relocate_targets command emcli (so an emcli should be placed on all nodes of your and recorded with Super Administrator privileges). So every time you start your database resource, this script command / move the target to the current host without losing any historical information.

Best regards
Robert

Edit: You can find an example of the command emcli in this document written by Rob Zoeteweij: http://oemgc.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/manage-node-failover-in-an-active-passive-setup-using-oracle-enterprise-manager-grid-control1.pdf
In this scenario is an active/passive environment, but the command itself appies to your situation, too.

    Hi, I have a problem with a basic movement scroll effect.

    I've already looked and read every tutorial out there about it and even tried the cat to adobe support, but the guy at the other end of the line disconnected me..., probably he did not understand what I wanted him, because English is not my native language, so one will try to be very clear on this one...

    Please note that I am new to dream, this is my first project ever.

    My idea is as follows:

    When the customer comes to our site of companies, he sees just our logo on a white background. the logo is composed of, say, four elements. When the client makes a scrolling down, the logo begins to transport: first the first part of the logo flies on the left side of the site, then the second part of the logo disappears down, then the third part of the logo flies to the right, then the fourth part of the logo flies upward and out of sight of customers. given what I've seen, it is possible to do...

    so...

    now I have four parts of my logo imported as png files in muse and was assembled in design mode to build our companies logo. I select each of the four parts and go to the effects of scrolling to the left tab next to the tab layers first I get the same values for each of the four parts: first movement: x 0 and x 0 again for the movement of the left and right; key position (t-handle): 0px; final movement: x 0 and x 0 for the value of left and right.

    now, I hit "Preview". : the logo is "pinned" to the correct location, I can scroll but the logo stays where it is. So far so good...

    now, I select all four components again and go to the tab scroll to 'final motion' effecs, I click on the drop down arrow and enter 1 x. I struck an excerpt...

    When I scroll the WHOLE grave logo down... well.

    NOW, I want the first part of the logo down, THEN part II to move left, THEN the third part to go to the top, THEN the fourth part to go right.

    so I select ONLY the first part, go to the request of scroll, to the 'final movement' tab, I click on the left arrow, then I go 1 x. (the value of up-down, I put to 0 again)... I struck an excerpt...

    the first part of the logo is left as soon as I start to scroll, the other three parties still go down at the same time...

    NOW, I want the second part of the logo to start to move, when the first part left, not at the same time as the first part.

    THEN I SELECT THE SECOND PART AND DRAG ITS HANDLE IN T (KEY ITEM) DOWN, LETS SAY: 200PX. THEN IT STARTS TO MOVE ONLY AFTER THE CUSTOMER HAS REACHED THIS POINT, RIGHT?

    BUT WHEN I SAW THAT *, THE LOGO IS NO LONGER TOGETHER, THE SECOND PART IS FLOATING ANYWHERE, BUT WHERE IT SHOULD BE... WTFF?

    short: when I move the t-handle, the initial position of the object changes. That's what I said to the adobe employee, but he said, this is the expected behavior...

    But if that's the case, how can I have my four parts correctly together, so they form my logo, but with different t treats, so they all start to move at different times?

    Pleeease help me, I will die of frustration here...: () this behavior is not normal, right?

    Thank you very much to everyone who reads this message and tries to help him...

    All the best,

    Thanks for your help.

    Please don't get me wrong: but I just wanted to be sure that you have installed WLS 10.3.2 (and not 10.3.x).

    Did you install patch WDJ7 as well? If you check the article ID [1063762.1] in MOS, you will find the notice:

    Important: You must apply the WDJ7 Patch to the WLS home before the installation/upgrade of the Grid control. Refer to Note 1072763.1 for instructions on how to apply the patch online/offline to WLS.

    No, Control 11g Grid can handle 2.2. The next version of the Grid control will support Oracle VM 3.0.

    As per

    Auditor Certification Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control [ID 412431.1]

    OEM 10 G GRID supports 8.1.7.4. databases. And through Oracle 11 G grid will not support.

    This means that you can continue to use, but in the case of any question, you will not be able to take the help of the Support of Oracle.

    But I'm sure that you can monitor the database 8i with 11G grid.

    I suggest you use the 10G agent for monitoring database 8i because with officials of 11 G you might face questions of database 8i.

    Hello Sylvia,.

    You must decompress all the files in the same directory. Don't worry about records. Unzip tool will extract the files in the correct folders (will not overwrite the contents of the folder).

  • Running command Perl external Windows Server - Grid Control 11g remote

    Hello
    I'm new to the forum and had a quick question: if I have access to a Windows host is there anyway that I could run an external Perl command if Active Perl isn't already installed on the remote server in Windows? I doubt due to the external command from the command line, but I thought it might be a way.
    Basically, I want to write a little Perl program and run it on a remote server via Grid Control 11 g. TIA!

    When you run a job from the OEM Console, it is performed by the Agent that is running on the server where you want to run the task.
    The Home Agent directory includes an installation of perl, so I guess it shouldn't be a problem.

    Hello

    I want to install Oracle Enterprise Manager 11 g Grid Control Release 1 (11.1.0.1.0) new!
    for Microsoft Windows (32-bit)

    Can it be installed on a windows 2008R2 64 bit?

    The doc says:
    Do NOT try to install a 32-bit software on 64-bit platform, or vice versa; the installation can go ahead, but fails eventually. Therefore, be sure to use the download of the software for the platform on the right.

    I prefer to start on a 32-bit platform like windows 2003 32-bit.

    Kind regards

    Hi Peter,.

    No it can be installed only on 32-bit.

    Referring to the Matrix certification:

  • Requirements to install grid Controll 11g in Windows Server

    Hi guys,.

    I met application Grid Control 11 g on Windows Server that has an installed database and Enterprise Manager configured.
    I followed the official docs and viewing the video how to make the Grid control installation in OTN.
    I deconfigured Enterprise Manager, then installed the JDK. I installed Oracle Grid Control, but I ended up installing Web Logic, Fusion Middleware and then next is the grid. I'm on the right track?

    I remembered installing 10g grid and I just installed the grid and Agents.

    I'm on the right track? Thank you!

    The installation of OEM GC 11, you must first install WLS.
    Make sure it's 10.3.2 because it's the only exit from suppored to OEM GC

    Take a look at my Oracle SUpoprt note: step by step Installation of 11.1 Grid control * [1059516.1 ID] *.

  • Problem with creating, truncating and deleting a database in 1 transaction

    Hello

    I came across a problem when it is in the same transaction creating a data base, truncating it and then delete it. Do these 3 things causes the following transaction validation to last forever.
    The following code causes the problem:

    File envHome = new File ("truncate-delete-test");
    envHome.mkdirs ();
    EnvironmentConfig envConfig = EnvironmentConfig.DEFAULT;
    envConfig.setAllowCreate (true);
    envConfig.setTransactional (true);
    envConfig.setTxnSerializableIsolation (true);
    Environment = environment (this.envHome, envConfig);

    Transaction txn = this.environment.beginTransaction (null, TransactionConfig.DEFAULT);

    DbConfig DatabaseConfig = new DatabaseConfig();
    dbConfig.setAllowCreate (true);
    dbConfig.setTransactional (true);
    String dbName = "test-db";
    Database db = this.environment.openDatabase (txn, dbName, dbConfig);

    CBI Close();
    environment.truncateDatabase (txn, dbName, false);
    DB = this.environment.openDatabase (txn, dbName, dbConfig);

    CBI Close();
    this.environment.removeDatabase (txn, dbName);

    TXN.Commit (); <-this statement would never return.

    I encountered this problem with version 4.0.92. I've updated to 4.1.7 but the problem still exists.
    Also, it manifests when the records are written to the database before and after it truncate.

    Looking in the process with the debugger shows the following stack trace during the commit endless happens:

    [...]
    DbTree.deleteMapLN (DatabaseId) line: 1069
    DatabaseImpl.finishDeleteProcessing (line): 1164
    Txn.cleanupDatabaseImpls (boolean) line: 1404
    TXN.Commit (durability) line: 728
    TXN.Commit (line): 549
    Transaction.Commit (line): 227
    [...]

    Depending on where I stop the process, there are additional calls on top of the stack.

    Exit Registration unfortunately does not help here, as the log messages stopped once the problem started to appear.

    Is it somehow not allowed to create, truncate and delete a database in the same transaction? I couldn't find anything in this sense in the documentation, and it is no exception either.
    Or have I came across a bug in I here?

    Thanks in advance for any advice or solutions.

    For a very basic definition, ACR is technology that is used by the database and IM is the infrastructure that makes the CAR work. In a response to the forum, this is probably all that can be said about the two. For a very long answer, you should read the links you cited.

    # 2, the course you are looking at is called accelerated because it combines two courses in one week training-RAC (4) and GI (3). So it's a day 7 curriculum that we would do in a 5 day course and who must justify its cost. But let me say, it's a really very good. But on the other side, it can be pretty intimidating to someone who does not already know these technologies. So I suggest that you send your team to each course individually and no doubt after doing some research. They can start to read the following books

    Thanks for any help

    The features of refactoring in JDev 11 g generation 5188 are unfortunately borked and should not be used in my opinion. I hope that fixed in the next version. If you have the time to create a simple test case to reproduce the problem, it introduced with Oracle's Support.

    Kind regards

    CM.
