Rv016 - xbox360 - mtu errors?

I have a little problem with an xbox 360 which is sitting behind my router rv016.  Xbox Live reports that the mtu is wrong and that the parameters need to be changed.  Pretty good easy solution?  However, I don't see an option to change in the router under the menus.  Has anyone else seen, heard of him, knows how to solve the problem?

Thanks for your time,

Scott

The mtu settings are under wan settings.  Go to settings then wan1 change tab.  Then scroll to the bottom of the page and there is the mtu tab.  Select Manual and enter the mtu settings.

    Xbox360 application error/vidio

I have the new xbox 360 and I try to play movies that are on my computer (XP media center). The xbox will open media center, see the video option, view the video file and the individual films & home made videos. When I select a file to look at, I get 'application error' and instructions for restart or contact the hardware vendor.
I downloaded and installed the Center Media 11 and in the installer for the sharing of the xbox does not appear. I don't know what counts as the xbox to connect to my computer and I can see photos but no video.

  • Video error, XBOX360 as extender for Vista MCE Sp2

    Guys,

Thought I would ask here that I drew a little white elsewhere.

I have a Vista MCE (Home Premium) that works very well I have not topics with that at all. I also had an XBOX360 connected as an Extender also with no problems.

Some time ago (8 months or almost) the Extender began to display a message when you try to read a recorded program (dvr - ms) or watch live TV.

Now, at that time two things changed; the graphics card in the MC is dead and has been replaced by another card (GeForce 9400-> GeForce 210) that prompted a reactivation of Vista.

An update to SP2 was also at the same time.

I had no time to really watch this angry (a newborn that makes you...) But I looked at a number of positions elsewhere and did some research:

    1. not a permissions problem. At the start of MC on the XBOX it displays icons with the thumbnails of the recorded shows. Users have total control over the directory of recorded TV.

    2. firewall issue. the MCE PC has had its firewall turned off for the duration; and I've tested that I can connect to the MCE PC on all ports listed; Curiously, a handful do not seem anything it either listen 10244 and 8554 at 8558.

    3. I tried to connect a new xbox (the original has been deployed in the bedroom for the sole purpose of extender; the second is for the games) and it has the same behavior.

3 remove and re-add the bar end several times.

    4. Curiously, I can play the videos of sample included with Vista MCE without problem.

In short, I wonder if it's a codec issue or some kind of DRM problem (caused by the reactivation).

Don't know where to go with this one. I'm fairly certain that I've covered all the obvious bases.

Oh a few last bits of useful information:

    1. There is no antivirus installed on Vista MCE
    2. the XBOX and the PC of MC are hard cables; that is, no Wi - Fi.
    3. I can play records (dvr.ms) on another PC (Running vista Ultimate edition) to share on the network. (Have yet to try to connect the xbox to the second PC and saw this work; something I'm considering)
4 Windows Update is enabled must so up-to-date with all the patches.

    Lost my answer somewhere here...

I solved this problem, and Yes, it was a long time to come... I solved this with a reinstallation of Vista.  A tad drastic and as fustrating as it would have been nice to understand the nature of the problem.  Tip to solve if we consider that Media Center is "production" so to speak.

Everything is now running as it should.

The question of crackling was a Kipper has been resolved by a BIOS update.

I have a strange problem... If I created a tunnel IPSec the ASA vs, it goes up but doesn't work if the package + / less 150 bytes... case of exceeded the size of the packets, the ASA didn't send to client IPSec; The size is related to the type of configured tunnels:

This is much like the following bug:

CSCsu26649    Big packages removed with enable configured ip-comp

Can you confirm that you have 'enable ip-comp' in your config vpn file? If so, that que desactiver turn off and you should be ok.

Better yet, go to 8.0 (5).

  • Vista error 80072efe installation code after fees

I recently made a new installation of Vista, after getting a new hard drive, but I get the error 80072efe code from windows update. Any help would be appreciated gratefully.

In addition to this question I can access the internet normally.
The only change I made to the system had to change my MTU on the same setting that I used until I reinstalled Vista:
netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface "Local network connection" mtu = 1400 store = persistent

I tried running windows update every day for the past week and get similar behavior.
I have deleted the partition and resinstalled Vista 4 times and tried to update before installing windows and programs and get similar behavior.
    I reset my router.
I added the update URL as trusted sites.

  • Video error: the files needed to display video are not installed or not working not properly. Please restart Windows Media Center...

Please help - it's driving me crazy! I got this to work!

I am using Vista Ultimate and a connection (cat-5) ethernet to an xbox 360 as a Media Extender (via a Linksys router). I get the error of the video:
"The files needed to display video are not installed or not working not properly." Please restart Windows Media Center or restart the computer "."

I have a Happauge PVR 150 TV capture card installed, and you want to watch TV and my video files Via the Xbox 360. I can see the guide for lists of TV programs, but not to look at them without getting the message above.  I can also put in place a program to record, display the video thumbnail, but not play. Video files only will play are videos very select few years recorded only where there is.

My graphics card is an ATI 2900XT - 512 MB of ram, with the latest drivers.

I've seen a number of discussions on the web that describes the same (or similar) problem, but none of them seem to have no solution.

I had Norton Internet Security installed and it has since withdrawn because of the firewall. I had thought, it could be a firewall issue, but it is not. I'm now using the Windows Firewall for now.

I deleted and reinstalled the Xbox as an Extender media several times... no help. I have re-installed the complete drivers for the video capture card, it has not helped either. I checked and double-checked the settings on my router as well.

The xbox is set for the share on my multimedia computer. The correct files can also be programmed for sharing.

On the PC in Windows Media Center, I can view the TV programs, record programs etc etc etc all work.

Any help would be really appreciated!

  • Trouble with my MTU settings

I use a WRT54G for online for a xbox360 and computer connectivity. Three days ago my power went out, he came back the same day. Since then, whenever I try to play online with my Xbox 360 it says "MTU test failed" and says my MTU settings are too low.

I tried several ways to solve this problem and none have worked up so I thought I would try here also. I'm always looking for other ways to fix it but if anyone has any useful advice, please report it.

BTW my 360 and the computer are connected to my router, which is connected to my modem is an Arris cable modem.

Follow this, it will surely work...

Open an Internet Explorer browser page. In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Leave the name blank user & admin password usage, it will open your router configuration page...

Then click on the tab "Games and Applications" and click void
    tab "Port Range forwarding"
    (1) on the first line in the box, type Application in "Xbox", start box
type in 88, in the end box, type 88, in the Protocol keep both in ip
type in address 192.168.1.20 and give a check mark on the enable box. Click on save settings.

    (2) on the second line in the Application in "Xbox Live" box type in run box
type in 3074, in type of box in 3074, Protocol keep both in ip
type in address 192.168.1.20 and give a check mark on the enable box. Click on save settings.

Once you return to the page setup, click the status tab. Take a note of DNS1 and DNS2.

Click Setup... Change the MTU to manual and change the MTU size to 1452... Click Save

    Parameters.

Now to assign the ip address given on your xbox
    IP address :-192.168.1.20
    :-255.255.255.0 subnet mask
    default gateway:-192.168.1.1

To set the static IP address on the X - Box go to the network settings on the X - Box... Also assign the dns

address on the xbox in the same way...

Turn off your router and the X - Box... Wait a minute... Turn on the router first... Wait a

minute... Test your X - Box... It needs to connect...

  • WRT54GS and XBOX360

I hope someone could help me to translate these instructions in what I do with my WRT54GS.

    http://www.Charter.com/customers/support.aspx?SupportArticleID=1967

I found the MAC address for the 360, it's just that I don't know where can I go to make these types of changes in the Linksys router.

I don't know how to get into my router configuration screen, I just need the instructions from there.

My Xbox connects very well when it is connected to the cable modem only, but not through the router.

    Thank you!

First of all is that your XBOX360 is a wired or a Wireless. Here are some parameters you need to place on your router to your XBOX work with the Linksys router, here are some settings that you can configure your router. You need to Hardwired anyone from your computer to the router.

Open an Internet Explorer browser on your computer (desktop) wired page. In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Let the empty user name & password use admin lowercase...

Click on the tab "Games and Applications" and then click the sub-tab "Port Range Forwarding"...

    (1) on the first line in the box, type Application in ABC, in the start box, type in 53 and the type of box in 53, leave the Protocol as and under type 192.168.1.20 ip address and check the box to enable...

    (2) on the second line in the box, type Application in PQR, in the start box, type 88 and type of box in 88, leave the Protocol as and under type 192.168.1.20 ip address and check the box to enable...

    (3) on the third line in the box, type Application in XYZ, in the start box, type in 3074 and end in 3074 box type, leave the Protocol as and under type 192.168.1.20 ip address and check the enable box and click on save settings...

    (4) once you return to the game to the top page, click the Security tab and uncheck block anonymous Internet requests and click on save settings...

    5) click on Setup and change the size of the MTU to 1452 and click on save settings...

    (6) address IP, Goto settings XBox network settings and assign the following on the IP address of your Xbox and select manual IP settings:-192.168.1.20, subnet mask:-255.255.255.0 default gateway:-192.168.1.1...

    (7) also assign DNS addresses on Xbox primary dns:-4.2.2.2... Secondary dns:-192.168.1.1

    (8) turn off your modem, router and Xbox... Wait a minute...

    (9) plug the power to the modem first, wait a minute and plug the router power cable, wait another minute and turn on the Xbox and... test it connects...

I think this should solve your problem.

  • Flow control and Jumbo Mtu

    Hello

I have a Dell document "Win-Hyperv-2012OS-Config". He asserts that before installing the kit EQL HIT, we have to configure network (tool of Broadcom Advanced Configuration Suite (BINS)) as:

    Option

    Value

    Flow control

    Rx & Tx active

    Jumbo Mtu

    9014

Is it worth for native Windows 2012 grouping configuration?
Now I see MTU is configured 1500 on all cards, has it be changed and why?

    Thank you

You use grouping of NETWORK adapters on a Windows host storage EQL. You can see odd behavior and errors when trying to write to a volume and have only one connection (because THINGS that there is only one card NETWORK).

Under the special workloads and environments a MTU of 9000 (Jumbo) * can * give you better performance. For sure, you will see a higher latency.

You must configure your pSwitch first, and then the driver/NIC in the host operating system.  The EQL use JumboFrames automatically if the initiator connects successfully with a MTU of 9000. See the 'reports' in the EQL GroupManager tab. Hold the mouse on one of the initiator of connection messages and look at the end of the line.

    Kind regards

Errors that you see can be caused by transmission defects. For users with Internet connections of poor quality (e.g. on dial-up), it can be less frustrating to use POP3 than HTTP.

However, it seems that errors can also arise when there is a conflict between the logon process separate two, one for the synchronization of e-mail , another for contacts/calendar sync. If you have your Hotmail account set up in WLMail to use HTTP,

    1. Is the account that is currently set as a default?
(Right-click on the account name in the folders pane. Default gray is?)
    2. Are you automatically connected WLMail with this account?
(When the program opens, the rightmost button on the home tab shows log or it show your Hotmail profile photo and full name?)

If you are automatically logged, something that has worked for some users is not connect to send/receive mail:

    1. Right-click on the name of the Hotmail account in the folders pane, and then select Properties.
    2. On the servers tab, clear the password box and uncheck the box next to Remember password.
    3. Close WLMail and wait five minutes.
    4. New launch WLMail and see what happens.
