S30 CPU E5-1620 v2 @ 3.7 CPU options

Sorry for the newbie question.

If I wanted to spend the CPU for something more powerful, what are my options?
Is of course done upgrade CPU invalidates the warranty?

E5-1650 v2 or E5-1660 v2 would be two viable upgrades.

As long as you don't damage your system while changing the processors you cancel your warranty. The warranty on your CPU would move cover by Lenovo being covered by Intel or the seller when you buy. The rest of your system would remain covered by Lenovo.

Tip: Be very careful with the pins on the CPU socket, because they are delicate and easy to hang. Keep all clothing or fabrics away from them while working on your system. It is not difficult, but requires attention to the details.

If you have any other questions about the process, definitely let us know.

    Hi all!

I have a Compaq Presario C731TU I absolutely need to upgrade its opportunities top of page. I discovered that he could run processor family Intel core 2 duo, and celeron family, that sounds really good!

Then consulted taken PPGA478 processors on the site of intel with their processor feature filter (http://ark.intel.com/search/advanced?s=t&FamilyText=Legacy%20Intel%C2%AE%20Core%E2%84%A22%20Processo...)   the best option seems to be Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T9500 (2.60 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 6 MB Cache).

    My question is:

Is there another cpu option better? Inside of a forum, I read that it can withstand up to Intel C2D T9xxx family but after T9500 (e.g. T9600 or T9900) taking turns into PGA478 and not PPGA478. What is the difference between PPGA478 and PGA478? are they the same or not?

Are there limits on the CPU with the BIOS upgrade? (mine is upgrated to F34 which should be the latest version)

About RAM: this laptop should work max 2 GB of ram but in fact I use it with 3 GB of ram (with these config.: 1 GB on the inner slot and 2 GB on the external, the inverse solution does not work, can not guess why), but someone "found a way" to use the 2 banks of 2 GB 4 GB total (and if according with this http://www.intel.com/Assets/PDF/specupdate/316274.pdf - pag. 19 - should be quite possible) , what ram 2x2gb modules can be accepted if? Help me = S

Thank you very much in advance!

I opened the laptop and the chipset inside the computer, wirtten there is an INTEL GL 960 who should manage only 553 mhz FSB... But... I installed inside, as the core 2 duo t9300, which has 800 Mhz FSB and it is fully functional in frequency from 800 Mhz to FSB. Really good news =)

AIDA 64 tool (former Everest) shows the FSB of GL960 chipset can run on 533, 667 and 800 Mhz frequency.

  • @Lenovo: X121e AMD CPU: where to buy in New Zealand?

    Hey guys,.

I really want to get your hands on a X121e with processor AMD E - 350 w/o OS here in New Zealand.

But I can not find in google or @ lenovo in the online-shop of )

    Are there opportunities?

    Thank you

The X121e with AMD processor is not available in Oz or NZ right now (don't know if it would be released in the future).

In Australia and New Zealand, you can only get the Intel CPU version.

If you are really desperate for this machine, then I suggest that you look on sites like ebay. In addition, the X120e have this CPU option, so you can find many of these machines.

  • DC 7700 Convertible Minitowers (CPU Upgrade)

    I have HP DC7700 Convertible Minitowers with CPU Intel (r) Pentium (r) D CPU 3 .00GHz.

I want to change my processor to another, what is (maximum) CPU Options for my motherboard?

    Hello:

For a free update problem, the max you can install is Conroe E6700 2.66 GHz processor.

If you install the latest update of the BIOS, you may be able to install the E7200 E7300 or E7400 processor, but I can't say for sure.  The so-called BIOS update adds support for the E7xxx processors.

The E7600 will install, but the FSB will not run at 533 MHz instead of the 1066 MHz, to what it is supposed to work.

Thus, I would not waste my time with that one.  The E7200 E7300 and E7400 may have the same problem, but I don't know.

HP has been informed by some members of the forum on the issue with the update of the BIOS and the FSB of 50% speed, but they have not done anything, and I doubt that they will ever be.

If it was me, I stick with the E6700 Conroe and enjoy a free issue, no upgrade hassles.

Info official processor upgrade is on the link below, page 9.

As my current Board has a cpu of 35w and can support 1333 mhz bandwidth memory I want to go with the N970 to get the best out of the laptop.  But is it really compatible?  No G6 model came with it from the factory, but the service manual says it should work.

If I'm stuck with CPU options that were available in the listed G6 models is the P960 my best option?  Is the P650 a real core triple the overal etc. ghz a better choice? I mean am I missing up to GHZ, Mgz, carrots, as well as single vs multitreading relative to each other?  I've been watching the numbers and comparing EVERYTHING and at this point, am not afraid to ask for help.

From the looks of it being an AMD processor that I'd get the Quad Core, if it is not too expensive get...

    CPU phenom II N970 635496-001 (2.2 GHz, 2 MB L2, 1333 MHz, 3.6GT / s), Quad 35W

    CPU phenom II P960 634689-001 (1.8 GHz, 2 MB L2, 1066 MHz, 3.6GT / s), Quad 25W

Otherwise, you could try a core 3 x but remember not all games will use more then one basic, except if they are written to use more then one or 2 x core.

But if I were you I would consider selling the laptop AMD and get an iNtel based processor you will have better battery life and the system performance improved compared to AMD processors.

  • Upgrade CPU on HPE 171f

I have a Pavilion HPE 171f running Windows 7 Pro and you want to upgrade a i7-860 processor to something faster.  Is this possible?

The CPU you have installed is the top CPU optionally listed by HP.  There's an i7-880, which will give you a @360 increase in mhz, but it is quite expensive.

If you are looking for an increase of severe performance consider upgrading the main drive to an SSD.

  • E6420 CPU Upgrade

We have a laptop with i3 XFR E6420 CPU option. What's more the spec CPU that fits?

The XFR laptop computer version has three options - i3 2310M, i5 2520 M, & i7 2640 Mr. La version non - XFR has options, including the 2760QM i7, but only in combination with nVidia graphics.

The version of QM will adapt the XFR - socket (G2) is the same, but is there something that makes it incompatible?

    Thank you.

The 2630QM can work - not the 3610QM.  The 3000 series is Ivy Bridge, a generation that is more recent than the 2000 (Sandy Bridge).  You need an E6430 to the Ivy Bridge - the E6x20s doesn't support as Sandy Bridge.

  • Upgrade CPU laptop CQ60-211DX

I have a CQ60-211DX laptop.  It uses a processor Intel Celeron 585 2.16 GHz core simple.  It is a processor Socket 9.

I want to know if it is possible at this level to a processor Socket 9 better, such as the Pentium Dual Core or Core 2 Duo.  My main concern is what families of processor will support the motherboard.

My research so far indicates that the Celeron has a max of 31W TDP.  The Pentium Dual Core T3200 (2.0 GHz) and T3400 (2.16 Ghz) have a max TDP of 35W and the Core 2 Duo has a maximum TDP of 10 w.  So, the Pentium Dual Core would generate a little more heat than the Celero, but I think he might be able to handle the additional 4W?  The Core 2 Duo, on the other hand, almost cold.

The Celeron and Pentium have 1 MB of L2 cache, but the Core 2 Duo has 2 MB.  The Core 2 Duo has a pace much more slow clock (1.5 Ghz), but I understand that it is still faster than the Pentium with the effectiveness of the architecture.

I don't know how the FSB affects things, but the Celeron and Pentium are 667 MHz while the Core 2 Dio is 533 MHz.

There are several other statistics I do not understand.  A large part of the information I have just the pages that follow.  Also, I have confirmed with a representative of Intel Celeron 585 is, indeed, Socket P.

    http://Ark.Intel.com/compare.aspx?IDs=35583, 37160,33920,36681,

    http://Ark.Intel.com/search.aspx?q=socket%20P&t=ProductGroup

    http://Ark.Intel.com/ProductCollection.aspx?series=28964

    http://Ark.Intel.com/ProductCollection.aspx?series=23517

It seems that Intel does not often stated that a processor is Socket P, but Sockets supported including the PPGA478 seems to be what I'm looking for.  Not entirely sure, though.  There seems to be the T7000 and T8000 T9000 series processors that support PPGA478, also.

    http://Ark.Intel.com/product.aspx?ID=27255&processor=T7200&spec-codes=SL9SF, SL9SL

    http://Ark.Intel.com/product.aspx?ID=27256&processor=T7400&spec-codes=SL9SE, SL9SK, SLGFJ, SLGFV

    http://Ark.Intel.com/product.aspx?ID=27257&processor=T7600&spec-codes=SL9SD, SL9SJ

Although T8000 and T9000 models all have much higher FSB speeds.  Yet once again, I don't know enough to understand what effect this has on compatibility, so I guess I should stay with 667 MHz.

Finally, I guess the U7000 series is more advanced than any of the T series, but other TPD and VID lower voltage max quantity, all other specs seem lower (FSB, clock speed, L2 cache memory).

Soldering is not a problem.  I don't know if my processor is welded on or not (have not yet cracked open and will not until I know that it is worth), but even if this is the case, I have a soldering iron, solder Wick and the skills to remove the welding without damaging the components.

So what I've been able to reconstruct so far.  If someone could let me know which processors can handle the motherboard on my laptop, I would really appreciate it.  If someone could suggest what processors would offer the best performance gain, would be great, too.

    Thank you!

    Luke

    Hello

What follows is a listed one CPU upgrade CPU option for your product.

Processor Mobile Intel Core 2 Duo T5850 - 2.16 GHz (Merom-MV, at 667 MHz front side bus, 2 MB cache level 2 total, taken Micro-FC-PGA, 35W TDP, 65nm)

If you plan to upgrade limit you your purchase know CPU compatible and functional. This way you will save yourself the disappointment of an incompatible CPU installation.

As notebook BIOS do not have many options tweakable, which disqualifies basically anything but what the manufacturer offers for upgrades in option.

the CPU I have listed and linked to is probably the best you can do for your laptop.

    Kind regards

  • How windows recognizes amount of CPU

    Hello!

I know there are a lot of topics and issues concerning the assignment of the CPU.  And even though I think I understand that I sometimes I Don t at other times.

I generally try to attribute a host of windows-only 1 CPU, but sometimes I need to assign another for different reasons.  If I've got a grip and assign 2 cores windows see only a CPU (boot.ini Don t have the marked CPU option) if I chose 2 Sockets with 1 core windows see two CPU, why? Is how important it?

I thought that the option of socket/core was there for reasons of license for example of SQL servers.

Sorry for the question may be stupid...

A single vCPU with two cores, it's the same as having two single vCPU... the guest will see 2 hearts in both cases, and Yes, socket/core options will help with products that are approved by socket.

Depending on your server, in select BIOS of the server "Advanced Setup"-> 'CPU Options', you should see 'CPU Execute Disable Bit' and 'Intel Virtualization Technology. Make sure that both are set to "Enabled".

  • Disappears from the main window of the activity monitor

I'm under El Capitan 10.11.5, 15F34 build on an iMac (retina, 5K, 27 inch, mid-2015). If I open the activity monitor, I get the CPU usage, but the main window will briefly appear and disappear. If I minimize and restore, I also get it for a fraction of a second and then it seems to fall back on the dock. The history of CPU option (cmd 3) is grayed out, although I can get it as the icon in the dock.

My question, then, is what caused this problem and how to restore to normal activity monitor?

Please read this message before doing anything.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

    Step 1

The goal of this step is to determine if the problem is localized to your user account.

Select the feedback connections* and log in as a guest. Do not use the Safari connection only 'user comments' created by 'find my Mac '.

While signed in as a guest, you will have access to your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you use them for the first time. Do not be alarmed by this behavior; It's normal. If you need any password or other personal information in order to complete the test, save, print, or write them before you start.

Test while signed in as a guest. Same problem?

After testing, log on to the guest account and in your own account, disable it if you wish. The files that you created in the guest account will be automatically deleted when you log out of it.

    * Note: If you have enabled 'find my Mac' or FileVault, then you cannot activate the guest account. The login 'User comments' created by 'Find my Mac' is not the same. Create a new account to test and delete it, including his home folder, after testing.

    Step 2

The goal of this step is to determine if the problem is caused by changes in the system of third party that load automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

Please take this step regardless of the results of step 1.

Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

The login screen is displayed even if you normally connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

Test in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of steps 1 and 2.
