S4C icon Popping Up in My Dock

Periodically, a generic icon with the name of s4c appears in my Dock, then disappears after 2 or 3 seconds. No idea what this could be? I am running 10.10.5.

Use the activity monitor application to try to isolate which app it is.   Also use the Console application if it is not found and look in his newspaper.

  • Having all the icons app pinned to the docking station

It affect the performance or memory available to other programs if you pin all the application icons in your dock (just for the look)?

I'm not sure about the memory, but keeping all applications in the dock reduces the execution stack, so it is wise to keep apps in launchpad (you can keep finder and trash in the dock) and also to reduce the size of the icons.

  • When I'm on my Web site home page, if I right click on the icon of firefox on the dock (iMac) it shows "Mozilla Firefox" instead of the name of my site.

So, if I'm on another site, for example newsnow.co.uk, if I right click on the Firefox icon in the dock, it shows "newsnow.co.uk" as one of the pages opened in Firefox.

But for my site, it just shows, "Mozilla Firefox". However, if I do the same with Safari, the page is referred to as the full name of my site.

Why Firefox isn't doing the same thing? My apologies if this is a silly question: I am a bit stuck!

    Best wishes

    James.

I'm sure that you can easily add a < title > for that and your other pages, and it will improve the way they appear in the results of search engines as well. In the absence of a title, for example, Google will just improvise something on the structure and the prevalence of the words on the page, which is not always what you want visitors to see on the results page.

  • I installed Firefox on my macbook pro and can't seem to get the firefox icon to stay on my Dock. Can you help me?

This must be a simple process, as I've done it before on other computers-, but the icon in my dock as a "?", I click on, and then it opens on Fox/World icon. As soon as I stop the computer - disappearance of the Firefox icon.

    Hello ajsviridoff,

Please contact the Mozilla Support. If you run Firefox in Launchpad you get the correct icon in your dock? If she doesn't simply you right-click on the icon, click Options, and then keep in Dock.

Please let us know if this solves your problem.

    See you soon,.

  • Docking station indicating the program activity of the other user

In recent days a colleague and I have found that two of our Mac Dock have a separate block on the left of the main dock to burst open and closed in accordance with the activity of each and other.

In other words, when I use Chrome or by post or similar, they see the Chrome or Mail app icons popping up in their Dock.

I googled this and found nothing on this subject.

Any ideas what this feature and how to turn it off? It of really annoying, is without impact on the our office machines.

We miss all day El Capitan 10.11.5 (15F34).

Looks like the transfer procedure. The two machines are configured with the same iCloud account.

  • Downloading the most recent version, the icon of firefox did not appear, another has instead and he won't get the dock applications folder

When I downloaded the new version, the icon of firefox did not appear. Instead another icon popped up and I was able to put in applications, but he would not go to the dock

    This has happened

    Just once or twice

== I tried to download the new version of firefox

When you download Firefox from mozilla.com, you download the DMG, not the app file. Opening of the DMG file is supposed to load the disk image, where you can drag the file Firefox app in your applications folder. See How to download and install Firefox on Mac.

So the question is why he will not remain in the dock. The app file must stay in your applications folder. Once you launch Firefox, an icon should appear in the dock. CTRL-click the icon in the dock. There should be a menu option "keep in dock".

  • The application in my dock icons are invisible

(MacBook Pro: retina, 15 inches, mi 2014)

Last night when I closed my computer for the night, I heard the sound when it starts. I opened it to see what was going on and had one * of a time trying to even turn on my computer.

When I was finally able to turn it on, it took me to the password reset screen, maybe because I kept trying to turn it on. Anyway, I'm able to get back on my computer and now half the icons on my doc are invisible. There is still a place on the side where they are, and I can fly to identify.

They still work very well, but what's past? I updated my computer to the last update after the restart of all that's happened, I tried several, and they are still missing.

One suggestion is to try a repair disk. I have found in El Capitan, first aid now. There might be a plist which is corrupt, but I don't know which.

You can also try to drag out the missing icons, since you mentioned flying over your mouse indicates what applications are. Then after removing the, drag the application icon to / applications on your Dock.

I can only guess that the issue you described, trying to turn on your Mac had something to do with your problem of Dock.

  • RELOADED 6.3 Lightroom and the icon is set to "keep in dock". Program is leave whenever I close the window? [was: Hi,]

    Hello

RELOADED 6.3 Lightroom and the icon is set to "keep in dock". Program is leave whenever I close the window?

    Thank you

"Keep in Dock" and close the window of LR is 2 different actions.  "Keep in Dock" means that, even if LR is closed, the LR icon is always in the dock for the reopening.  If you want to keep open LR, do not close the window.  You can minimize LR as suggested above, or you can 'Hide LR LR in the menu.  Cmd + H keyboard shortcut

  • How to remove "around the web" pop ups?

How to remove 'around the web' pop ups of Safari on my macbook air?

Download and run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware: http://www.adwaremedic.com/index.php

You can also remove the adware manually by following the steps provided by Apple: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203987

After that, make sure that your default search provider is set to the one you always use. To do this, open Safari - Preferences - research.

Go to the Safari menu (at the top right of your screen next to the Apple icon), choose 'Quit Safari'

Press the "Shift" key and while holding this button on your unique keyboard, click the icon of Safari on your Dock.

Open Safari - Preferences - Privacy - data to remove any Web site.

Also, I think it would be a good idea to install AdBlock.

  • Icons of applications do not respond!

Since the release of El Capitan 10.11.5, some of my applications (specifically requests that launches other applications) are block when I left them, and they remain hovering on my dock. And no, ctrl + click > forcequit does nothing, and it does not even appear on the activity monitor. The strange thing is the applications themselves leave, leaving behind a shell of an icon sitting there in my dock. I can't reboot my computer because the thinking mac these icons are requests pending to stop smoking because they are forever does not and cannot continue to close. The only way to erase my docks of these stuck icons is to force a shut down that I'd avoid everytime I want to play games.

Four requests (LolClient, League of Legends, Borderlands 2, Information System) to the right are all "shells" and those who still does not and can not be closed.

    • LolClient and League of Legends have been opened automatically through the right LeagueofLegends of the application of the steam app.
    • Borderlands2 was opened automatically via the application of steam, which, if some of you don't know, to the right of the dictionary application.
    • Information system has been opened through appleicon top left > about this Mac > report on the system.
