Safari 10.0 no minimum font size setting

Just downloaded Safari 10.0 on my Early 2011 Macbook Pro and there is a remarkable lack of functionality: definition of a minimum font size. The setting seems to be replaced by the percentage of zoom of page that is not as useful for me. Anyone know if Apple has just moved this setting or if it is gone for good?

It seems that he's gone.

You could try a different resolution in system preferences > monitors > display > chipped.

Or system preferences > accessibility > Zoom.

  • In Safari 10 minimum font size

    Hi people,

Is there a way to restore the minimum font size setting 9 Safari Safari 10? Zoom the entire page is not as useful as the increase in the minimum size of text. To return to the 18pt size I had before, I up to 150%, which increases all the parts of the page, making it too large to render correctly.

Minimum size was certainly not perfect, but it was the best option in my situation of low vision.

    Rgds,

There is circumvention via CSS custom solutions, you can find online.

I am facing the same problem and have sent feedback to Apple. It borders on the hostile user behaviour, discrimination against people with a weak eyesight and seems to be a crazy interface simplification exercise.

My only solution is to go back to chrome until Apple decides to solve this problem.

  • Where is the minimum font size in Safari Version 10.0 (11602.1.50.0.10)?

I need to control the font size in Safari. Apple seems to have removed. Does anyone know where the police since the previous version of Safari controls went?

Workarounds don't work. I find myself with a page too big for my Air 13 "screen if fonts are quite large. If the Safari page fits the screen, fonts are too low.

(insert a LOT of expletives here).

    Help!

Just found out his omission, too!  Horrible!

Minimum font size control has been using Safari... keys to allow the text on the pages to have a readable size.  What is happening with Apple?

Now, perhaps, there is an extension that can do this.  OFF to get one!

  • Font size set to auto but sounds different when the data are populated compared to typed manually

I have a form where all the size of the font of fields is set to auto. When data are filled in the form in a custom program the font size appears different to the name and first name fields. When the same names are typed manually in the form (not filled in the custom program) the font size remains uniform. There is no coding in the personalized program to manipulate the fonts or the font settings. What could be the cause of the change in the appearance of the font size. Another interesting is that after the program fills in the data, I can click in the areas affected by this problem and the police will change to what it should be but set in the right size once I have quit the field. I also see that some fields when filled will not be characters fat even if the police is set to a bold font.

When a font of a field is set to Auto, Acrobat/Reader dynamically adjust the font size to match what is entered. When not using Acrobat/Reader to populate a field, it belongs to the program to properly set the font size based on the value of the field. Adobe does not publish any algorithm they use to determine the exact size (depending on the font used and the coordinates of field), so that a third party should use a better estimate (or not even trying at all), that looks like what is happening in your case. When you click within a field by using Acrobat/Reader, the font size is adjusted dynamically, but because the value of the field does not change, it is not defined when the field loses focus.

A possible solution would be to use JavaScript to record all the field values, reset the form and then fill in the form using the saved values, this would cause Acrobat correctly define the appearances of field.

  • The font size on my email page is now extremely low (illegible) - how do I restore it to original font size setting?

The size of the font on my Yahoo email page suddenly became very low. This seems to have happened since I've attached a picture to an e-mail message.
How can I restore my page email to its previous size fonts?

  • How to set the FONT SIZE on Safari 10?

I use OS X 10.11.6, and I just downloaded Safari 10.0. He seems to have replaced the 'minimum font size' with a "zoom" feature but there is a big problem: if I as large font size that I prefer, the page runs off the screen; If I do the optimal zoom page, the police is too small! So I have to squint as soon as the text continue to slide backwards to see the entire page. It's annoying and stupid. Is there a way to adjust the size of police ALONE?

Have the same question. Safari 10.0 is USELESS to me if I can't change the font size. Never thought Apple would make such Microsoft (see IE) thing.

  • How to set the font size on El Cap?  Firefox crashed and now my font size is about 10

Do not forget that your Firefox is uptodate.

Clear your cache and history as well.

    What about fonts:

In Firefox 46 in the preferences search content and try to change.

Note that in the content there is also a step forward.

and the part that has a checkbox

'allow pages to choose their own fonts '.

  • Is it possible to increase the font size on web pages? I can increase the size of the page but then lose the ability to see the entire page.

I've just updated El Capitan, but the font size on web pages went all teeny weeny.

I was wondering if we could increase the font size? The page can expand via "zoom in", but then lose the ability to view the web page in the blink of an eye.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes.  Open the Terminal app and type the following command followed by the Enter key or return:

    : write com.apple.Safari com.apple.Safari.ContentPageGroupIdentifier.WebKit2MinimumFontSize - int XX

(triple click on the line to select it to copy and paste into the Terminal application).

Change the XX to the font size you want as the minimum font by default.

Or you can use a css style sheet.  This site describes it and the Terminal method: specify Minimum font size in Safari 10.0, macOS Sierra

  • These last questions w/eBay font size. Fonts page summary now too small to read.

eBay policies is always displayed correctly using IE. BUT little by little, eBay police changed the size of font within a given page of eBay. 'My eBay' a 10 drop-down selections. These 5 are OK: offers/offers, Watch List, purchase history, my Collections, Messages. These 5 police being so small almost invisible: summary, wish list, all the lists, sales, followed by research. If all goes well, a fellow eBayer is to see these changes too.

I'm guessing that eBay programmers have been tweaking Internet Explorer to correctly display the fonts on all pages, as Internet Explorer has had its own problems of font size of eBay in the past. But now using Internet Explorer looks good! However, at the same time, Firefox has really gone South. My guess is the tweaking of the IE has destroyed now possibility of FireFox to display the font correctly sizes in eBay. Ask me questions if you see what I see. I can send some screenshots. Thank you, Tom Smiley

    Two other thoughts:

    (1) Firefox allows you to select a font size minimum for all pages. It can destroy a large number of provisions, so usually it not very useful, but if the fonts are unreasonably tiny, you can try it.

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > content > button "Advanced".

The top of the page, set "fonts for: Western ' and then about halfway to the bottom of the dialog box, change the Minimum font size to 9.

At the top, the value ' fonts for other languages: ' and repeat the process. And then click OK.

    Which enlarges the tiny fonts?

    (2) there are scaling of the problems with the new screens of more-than-the-full-HD, especially when the site uses the Flash plugin. If you have such a screen, you may lodge a complaint with the site, so they can update their Flash media.

  • How can I increase the font size on the screen using Windows 7 64 bit

I have vision problems and find that printing of Web pages is too small. How can I incrase it?

You can use an extension to set a page zoom and the size of the default font on the web pages.

It is better to not increase the minimum font size, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent the problems of duplication of text.

  • Blind Presenter: apply the font size to all slides

    Hi all!

Keynote is a great tool for blind people create presentations; It works very well with the Apple own screen reader, VoiceOver.

I have a few questions for you guys. your answers will make my workflow much more effective.

    (1) I know, use the minimum font size is 30. How many characters will fit online?

    (2) I've copied the text in a text document in a slide; of course, the font and size are not the same. Can you assure me that all fonts and sizes remain the same throughout the presentation?

(3.) I have a table of 5 x 5 with numbers on a slide. I was told by sbd. who could read but not edit the documents Keynote (with Open Office) as the table is readable, but could be many, many more great. Is there a way of self-centring a picture so that it fills the slide?

any ideas would be very appreciated. Thanks & best regards, Markus

I regularly create educational materials for students with visual impairments through audio recordings.

I can't imagine the challenge for blind people, creating material with Keynote.     I hope that the following remarks are useful as a point of departure if nothing else.

I know, use the minimum font size is 30.

In fact, the font size must be determined by the final product, which the spectators and the environment where the presentation takes place. Text at the point indicated 30 in a conference room is far too small to be legible, 30 points may be appropriate when sitting in front of a screen of 2 feet farther.

How many characters will fit online?

This, once again, must be determined by the final product, and not the number of characters can be demonstrated. What is really important is the number of words on a slide, not the number ofcharacters.

The number of words that are easy to read on a projection screen in a small training room will be different for the number of words that are easy to read in a web browser on a computer screen.

The rule for text created by professional designers on television broadcast as well as projected communications is a maximum of five words per line and 6 lines per page, a maximum of 30 words per slide. For example, in Europe, there are legal requirements imposed on broadcasters for viewers to read text easily.

I copied the text to a text document in a slide; of course, the font and size are not the same. Can you assure me that all fonts and sizes remain the same throughout the presentation?

Use the dough and the Style of game in the edit, the keyboard is shift option order V

the table is readable, but might be much, much more. Is there a way of self-centring a picture so that it fills the slide?

Select the table, and then increases the font size of the required amount.

I am happy to answer questions about my answer.

  • Changes in font size of BBM by itself

    Hello

I noticed that the font sizes in the chat list, as well as in conversations, change in itself.

Today I noticed that when I get a message and access the cat/application in the drop-down notification, the font size is normal (smaller) in the chat screen. If I go 'back' to the 'back' button in the app, the chat list font sizes are normal (smaller). But, then, if I navigate to contacts and then back to cats, the fonts are enlarged by one or two points, also the list of discussions, as well as in cats.

This can happen at other times too, but just noticed this today.

    Anyone else having this problem?

    JK

P.S.: It would be great if we had a display font size setting.

This has been fixed in the latest update.

  • Safari 10: too small font size

After the installation of Safari 10.0 this morning, nothing is as it used to be - printing on most websites is too small for me to read. The option to adjust the size to a minimum size by default in the Preferences window has disappeared; pages can be enlarged in 125, 150% etc but not what I want.

I no has not upgraded to the latest version of Safari to end up reading texts too small they are printed on stamps!

Do these guys at apple all this walk with a watchmakers eyepiece? All solutions (style sheets?)?

There are a number of discussions on this issue with your same concern. I agree, the issue of font size is really bad and the zoom function is NOT a way to solve this problem. As others have suggested sending back to Apple is a way of approaching the question with the hope that they give the choice of font size in preferences rather than this impassable zoom feature.

  • Font size by default in Safari

Is there a way to define the font size so that when you open a new page, the default value is no huge guy who suggests that you go blind? I'm kind of having to 'Order' - at the level of the type to a readable size, everytime I open a new page. Thank you

No, there is nothing in the preferences of Safari I see which allows to do.  You can set the default font to be not less than a certain value and you can do this in the Advanced tab, but which would prevent all sites with great rendering, any small font.  It wouldn't change the already large fonts and make them smaller.

If this is the kind of functionality in a browser, I suggest to download Firefox.  You can set the size and font of police at all what you want, which are two things you can't do in Safari.
