Safe to remove hardware ball

All of a sudden (when I have no idea), the "Safe to Remove Hardware" message is not in sight when I delete a USB of the PC. (Icon at the bottom). I can remove the device when I click the button, but then the icon immediately disappears and the ToolTip with the text "Safe to remove hardware" does not apear.

This happens in all usb ports.

Perhaps one of the Toshiba Utilities caused this error. What program can I reinstall to make the ToolTips visible again?

Hello

As much as I know Toshiba has nothing to do with the described issue. All preinstalled Toshiba Utilities or tools don t affect any kind of typical negative Microsoft operations, messages or something similar.

To be honest, your question must be posted on some forum of Microsoft.

By the way: have you noticed when you use different devices connected to the USB ports?

I have windows vista and I'm having a problem with the safe to remove hardware balloon in the taskbar. The ball goes and without reason, there is no device connected to my laptop and it always comes and goes all the time. The annoying part is the sound to warn someone that there is now a device linked to the system, because the noise disturbs the other things I'm doing right now. Does anyone know how to turn it off it, delete the system or fear that change the ringtone that is associated with the safe to remove the material if it if should pop up and off very well that there is nothing there, it will be less embarrassing?

Also, keep in mind I already put it to the permanently hide the bar tasks, but the chime, is what kills me the most because I can't stop it.

    Hello mustang031783,

    ·         You have all the USB devices connected to your computer?

If you have all the USB devices connected to your computer, disconnect the USB devices and see if you still get the Notification.

You can also connect a USB device to each port USB, Eject and remove safely.

You can also try to run a program from Microsoft that automatically diagnose and repair problems with USB, check if it brings something:

  • When I eject the media safe to remove hardware message does not appear

When I have an external hard drive or USB connected to my Windows 7 computer, I click on delete material and eject the media icon in the taskbar safely. Then I select eject. Then, I don't get the safe to remove hardware popup message. I used to do, but now I don't have. The safely remove hardware and eject the media icon stays on the bar tasks, but when I click it a second time, she disappears.

Can you please tell me how to fix this? Thank you.

OK, I figured out how to fix it. I found a utility called Ultimate Windows Tweaker. It has a selection called "disable ToolTips. She was selected and when I deselected it the problem has been resolved.

  • When trying to eject a device on the desktop running Windows 7, I do not receive the "Safe to Remove Hardware" message

Just installed Windows 7 on my desktop & laptop computer. On my desk the Safely Remove Hardware icon appears when I plug in my USB drive or an additional hard drive. However when I click the icon and select eject device I don't get a message telling me that it is "safe to remove". The device does not appear in my computer after that I selected for the ejection. With my laptop, I get the safe to delete message.

    Hi Lorrie,

When you connect an external device to your computer (like a disk USB external drive or burner external DVD/CD or a Flash drive or something like that - maybe even a printer), this icon appears.  Since it is not a good idea just to pull on the external device when done (for the device or computer), this icon is there at the first click when you want to remove the device and it should finally say, "it is safe to remove your hardware device" or something like that how you can remove the device.  When you do, unless you have also attached devices, the icon should disappear because there is nothing to which it applies.

If you need additional help, start here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/hardware?page=1&tab=all&tm=1318133457591 but to the top where it says the Version of Windows, click on the box to select your version, so you'll find yourself in the appropriate forum for your system.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Quick Launch bar, have lost the icon 'remove hardware safely '. How can I get that back?

    Lost 'remove hardware safely '.

    Restore point:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    See you soon.

Creative Memories Photo Manager probably ejected your camera after you import the images. Check the default settings and change them if you prefer something different.

If your camera is not displayed as ejection, it is safe to remove it. Damage to the file system wouldn't be possible, but not certain, if he had written active file or buffer not released when the device has been deleted.
  • Where the icon 'remove hardware safely '?

I just upgraded to Win 8 of Win XP. I'm used to seeing a popup or an icon in my taskbar lower right to "remove"hardware safely"after plugging in my camera or phone, but I don't see one in Windows 8. What happened to him? Will I have a problem if I remove just my camera, or do I have to take other measures to ensure that it is safe to unplug?

Click the arrow to the top by the clock.  This will show hidden items and allow you to remove safely from the aircraft.

1 n ° put them on a regular external drive and the value of Time Machine to back up as well; the files you want to keep should be at least two disks in case one of them goes down.

    2. they will not be usable until the restoration.

  • Cannot eject the disc hard ultrabay in ' Safely Remove Hardware and and eject the media.

    Just installed my T430s with Win7 x 64.
But I have a problem to the ejection of my hard drive in ultrabay using the icon "Safely Remove Hardware and and eject the media.

I installed the latest Intel Rapid storage driver (RST) worm. 12.8.10.1005 download of Lenovo.

UltraBay drive hard not in the list using the driver Lenovo RST!

If I use the native Win7 driver (Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller), it works:

Works very well using native driver.

I guess that the Intel RST pilot could have some improvements to the native driver... so I would frefer using them.

This is what it looks like in Device Manager:
    Driver Intel RST:

    Win7 x 64 native driver:

Suggestions... someone at - it a newer driver of RST?
Tried to find one at Intel without luck :-(

I tried today with 4 different drivers and here is the result:
1: "Lenovo" RST driver version 12.8.10.1005: best performance of all. Does NOT support ultrabay ejct!
2: Intel RST driver ver. 12.9.0.1001: a little slower than 1. Support ultrabay eject!
3: Intel RST driver ver. 13.1.0.1058: a little bit faster than 2, but not as fast as 1. Support ultrabay eject!

4: Win7 x 64 native driver AHCI: a little slower than the others. Support ultrabay eject!

Test drive: Micron C400 256 GB

Also tried Intel 320 128 GB and using this disc the native driver was also fast drivers Intel RST (did not try the 'Lenovo' RST).

How to join Lenovo for the 'Lenovo' fixed driver?

  • Safe USB removal message, "...". cannot be stopped because a program is accessed again. »

Trying to 'remove hardware safely' (a USB flash or hard drive), I get the message "the device" USB 2.0 Flash Drive USB Device' cannot be stopped because a program is accessed again. This is often caused by the system restore as it tries to create restore points, make sure that the system restore is not enabled on removable disks, System Restore should only monitor the volume of Windows startup.
