Safely remove hardware GPIB-USB-HS

Hello

I have several GPIB instruments connected to the PC through GPIB-USB-HS. I know that normally for USB devices, that I need to have it removed safely. What should I do in this case to remove connections when everything is turned on.

Thank you

FliU

I try to always turn off an instrument before you disconnect it.

  • Cannot eject the disc hard ultrabay in ' Safely Remove Hardware and and eject the media.

    Just installed my T430s with Win7 x 64.
But I have a problem to the ejection of my hard drive in ultrabay using the icon "Safely Remove Hardware and and eject the media.

I installed the latest Intel Rapid storage driver (RST) worm. 12.8.10.1005 download of Lenovo.

UltraBay drive hard not in the list using the driver Lenovo RST!

If I use the native Win7 driver (Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller), it works:

Works very well using native driver.

I guess that the Intel RST pilot could have some improvements to the native driver... so I would frefer using them.

This is what it looks like in Device Manager:
    Driver Intel RST:

    Win7 x 64 native driver:

Suggestions... someone at - it a newer driver of RST?
Tried to find one at Intel without luck :-(

I tried today with 4 different drivers and here is the result:
1: "Lenovo" RST driver version 12.8.10.1005: best performance of all. Does NOT support ultrabay ejct!
2: Intel RST driver ver. 12.9.0.1001: a little slower than 1. Support ultrabay eject!
3: Intel RST driver ver. 13.1.0.1058: a little bit faster than 2, but not as fast as 1. Support ultrabay eject!

4: Win7 x 64 native driver AHCI: a little slower than the others. Support ultrabay eject!

Test drive: Micron C400 256 GB

Also tried Intel 320 128 GB and using this disc the native driver was also fast drivers Intel RST (did not try the 'Lenovo' RST).

How to join Lenovo for the 'Lenovo' fixed driver?

  • Problem with the Flash Player and safely remove Hardware icon

I'm a casual pc user, so it's not very technical!

I bought a new computer from Dell Studio One desktop in July.  I use it once or twice a day in general.  When I use it, I usually insert a flash drive so that I can save my documents, etc.  I also use the safely remove hardware option before removing the flash.

Here's the problem: these days, the little 'remove hardware safely' remained in my taskbar with the green check mark on that.  When I click on it, it shows an option to safely remove drive F.  Until this problem, when I want to insert flash, Windows would label it drive F.  Now, all of a sudden, when I insert the flash, it becomes the G.  And I have this ghost f.

It's not a huge deal, I don't know, but I do not understand what has happened.  Furthermore, I use Vista, and when finally, I guessed my way, I found the Code 47 as the cause of the problem.  Of course, Code 47 indicates that I left something trendy, but obviously, I have not.

    Any help out there?

    Hello

I suggest check in disk for the driver letters which are present management and remove no matter what additional driver letter (e.g. f :/) and check if the problem is resolved.) Follow the steps mentioned in the article below.

  • SATA 3 6 GB showing in safely remove hardware?

I just installed a new hard drive WD SATA 3 (WD1002FAEX)
and it shows in the remove hardware safely. I found this fix:

How Stop disk appearing in Safely Remove Hardware
It seems that Windows 7, some sata ports are incorrectly installed as external ports by default.

A difficulty lies in the document located at:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/whdc/device/storage/eSATA.mspx

    Right-click on command prompt and select "Run as Administrator";

Copy and paste the following command into the command prompt:

    Reg.exe add "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\msahci\Controller (n) (N) \Channel" / f/v TreatAsInternalPort /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001

Change (n) for the COMP contoller - 0 on my machine, IE. 'Controller0' and change (N) to the SATA port number - 1-5 on my machine, IE. Channel 1, canal2, canal3... etc.

You can check what number of controller and ports using regedit to check the registry keys. The keys can also be added while your there.

on a forum but do not know how to find what controller and channel my new drive is underway. The poster says I can do this with regedit, but I don't know where to look or what to look for. Can anyone help?  Also I'm not sure if I even use this command prompt to resolve my problem.

The BIOS settings to see if one of its SATA ports is able to be designated as eSATA, you should look in your motherboard.  It would be for use with SATA external readers that you could concievably want to be hot swappable. BIOS will also tell you which lead your hardrives controllers and optical drives are connected to the.

Creative Memories Photo Manager probably ejected your camera after you import the images. Check the default settings and change them if you prefer something different.

If your camera is not displayed as ejection, it is safe to remove it. Damage to the file system wouldn't be possible, but not certain, if he had written active file or buffer not released when the device has been deleted.

  • Safely remove hardware shortcut blocked by group policy.

Accidentally posted this earlier in the windows 7 box... its a matter of xp.

    Hi all

Im having some trouble with our strategy of group set up.  We like to remove from the tray of some users, but this introduces the problem of how they eject their USB drives.

We stumbled upon this path of the shortcut RunDll32.exe shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll which works very well.  The problem is that we have a group policy setting that allows only the specified in a list programs to be run.  Located atUser Config/Admin time/system/run only allowed Windows applications.

Ive tried to add rundll32.exe in the list, but still running the shortcut gets blocked.  Anyone could shed some light on this?

    Thank you

    Hello

    • Are there any external USB device connected to your system?
    • Have you installed any DVD software Imaging?

I recommend you perform the clean boot.

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

  • My icon "safely remove hardware and eject Media" has stopped working properly. How can I fix?

I usually simply click or right-click on the icon in the status bar, but it gives me is no longer the menu to eject my media safely. One weird thing is that the menu appears ONLY after that I stopped. He appears for a quick second and then disappears again.

    So far I have tried:
    Back in power
-System Restore to a date much earlier
    I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
    I have the latest updates.

I tried all of this, and of no use, but thank you again. I solved my problem with a windows repair. Everything works well again. There are actually several other problems, but everything has been resolved. Thank you.

  • Icon 'Remove hardware safely' is missing from the notification area

I just reinstalled Win7 X 64 business but found that the icon 'Remove hardware safely' is missing from the notification area when I plug a USB key or external HARD drive (they don't work either by the way, I can view files in them no problem), I tried the solution of workaround suggested in http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-desktop/safely-remove-hardware-icon-missing-and-cant-eject/e9fda0a2-c308-4853-bf1d-a3926ff0fcd1?page=1&tm=1299855382970#footer , but it does not resolve the issue, I don't see the USB stick or external HARD disk in the dialog 'remove hardware safely '. The only way I can eject a USB device is click on the drive in windows Explorer and select "eject" while even "eject" is not available for an external HARD drive

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot it?

  • I have an external hard drive and the althogh sound in 'remove hardware safely', it is not listed in 'my computer '.

I have a HDD external and well that his "safely remove hardware" that is not listed in 'my computer' the problem is I am backing up Paolo and if I can not find I can't do.

When I go to the hardware / device mananger it is in "O" but I can not find drive O

    Can someone please help.

This external hard drive works on other systems?

The drive will appear in the top of the disk management window?  If so, look at the column layout, Type, file system and status.  The "file system" must be FAT or NTFS.  From your description, it appears that Windows does not recognize the partition as being to the format in a way that he can use.  You may need to delete the existing partition (attention: this will remove all files that may exist on the disk), and then create a new partition in FAT32 or NTFS format.  Advice to do this, right-click the disk, choose 'Help', then go to:
-> How To disk management...-> manage the volumes of base-> Delete, Create, or Format.

    Hello

Have you tried the solution I posted above? He was called to work.

Low-level chipset drivers are available from the maker system (the card mother and maker if a custom)
suystem) and the actual machine of the chipset such as Intel, AMD, Nvidia and so on (we are not talking
    on the video here).

To see which chipset Start - type in the box search--> find information system at the top and double click
on this subject. This information is also available from the system manufacturer or the motherboard.

It would be an unusual problem for pilots of the chipset level low cause although anything is possible.

    I hope this helps.
