  Back to your problem: the wireless card properly recognized and listed in the Device Manager?
  If so, please be sure that this card is enabled. Just that you should be able to see any wireless network.

  You n t need any special software. WIFI connection can be configured using settings in windows.

• Installation of a missing mini PCI WiFi card in the Satellite 2450 101?

  My Satellite s2450-101 seems devoid of a WiFi card.

  There is no mention of such a card in the adapters in device Manager\Network, which lists the following three elements: 1) 1394 Net adapter MAC bridge Miniport) 2 and 3) Realtek RTL8139/810 x Family Fast Ethernet NIC
  The Wireless Communication switch on "on" does not have the led lights up.
  By pressing Fn + F8, that should turn the wireless LAN has no effect.

  I found the info that this unit is ready WLAN and is attributed to the WLAN option in option. Check please the Device Manager and see if the wireless adapter is listed under network adapter. If this is not the case, the device is without wireless network card.

  Let us know if the card is on board and we can write once again how the card must be activated.

  I'm not 100% sure but I think that the WLAN slot is placed under the keyboard. There is also the antenna cables (black and white cable). Update is not a problem, and you can only do so at your own risk of course. ;)

  Unfortunately I put t know exactly what WLAN card is compatible. If you want you can use the external solution. It is much easier.

  You will be very happy if someone has the same laptop model and exactly the same external device (digidesign mbox 2 mini) for you give the right answer. AFAIK for each external device there is a description with the minimum system requirements.

  I recommend you to check carefully and I presume that you will find the right answer. Google all over the place. I'm sure you can find some forum with interesting discussions on this MBOX 2.

  Question: would it be possible to replace the card of wireless mini-PCI Intel 5100AGN with version 4965AGN or 5300AGN?

  The thing is, recently I bought the Satellite P300-23F. Great laptop. Apart from one thing. I use the Intel 5100AGN wireless. Type of damage, the rest of the components used to build this laptop are high-end. I would have liked to see the 5300AGN of even the old 4965AGN adapter instead. These are both a bit more expensive, but still on the market for the price difference is a simple slice of $20. The 5100AGN TX is only 150 Mbit, which is half as fast as the two other Intel wireless modules. In general, a lot of people seem to have problems with the 5100AGN, seems to be a troublesome product altogether.

  Performance of the real world of the 5100AGN on a Linksys WRT54G is around 15 Mbps (1, 8 MB/s). My other computer laptop, equipped with a 4965AGN will be double that in the same circumstances. Tried all the drivers I could find, but the above values are the best I can get.

  I didn t find exactly the information concerning this oldie but I found some nice details about Sam 2455.
  It of very similar to the European Sat 2450-xxx but the 2455 Sat is an American model.

  Compatible WiFi cards are:
  PA3212U-3MPCR wireless 802 LAN cards Kit. 11B (Agere)
  PA3273U-1MPC Wireless LAN Card 802 Kit. 11a / b (Atheros)

  I think that the miniPCI Wlan Card slot is hidden somewhere under the keyboard.
  So to access this slots the keyboard must be removed first.

  I just bought a Kingston 2 GB SD card. Despite many efforts, I can't get my 2450-101 to format 1 GB storage on this map.

  I found in googel Satellite 2450-101 specifications and it seems that the card reader can manage only the SD card without support MMC. Additional not all card format SD is supported and therefore in my opinion the 2 GB format SD card is great

  I put t know if it will help you but I read somewhere in the forum about similar themes. The Toshiba SD card format utility has been updated and could format the 2 GB SD cards. I don't remember the version of this utility, but you can try to download the SD card from the Portege M400 section format utility.
  But as mentioned, I don't know if this utility works on the Satellite 2450 m.

There are two cables, white and black (under the cover of the wireless card on the case) which I suppose are for the internal antenna.   I own a Toshiba A20-S103. When I bought the camera there not of wireless. I have the switch but wireless. I would like to install it but I don't like solutions card mainly because of the portruding antennas and special care, I imagine that you must have for such a solution (do not break the card because of the carelesness). Now, I opened my laptop and I have the empty mini PCI slot and the antenna cables. I found several mini PCI card on the Toshiba site in the communication options and accessories section. The problem I have now is that although I found two mini PCI card 802.11a/b/g, which seems to be compatible with my model, I can't decide which is the best because the information provided for each of them are the same. The only thing that seems to be different is the reference number (PA3318U-2MPC and PA3298U-1MPC). Also, there is a two 802. 11 b / g cards compatible with my model but even once, I can't make my decision due to the fact that the information provided for these cards is not helping to distinguish between them. Looking in the manual, I found that my model suports only 802. 11a / b (or at least what they say). And there's a mini PCI 802.11 g on the Toshiba site which is not compatible with my model. If it makes me wonder if I can get a card 802.11 g. I would really like it for the higher speeds that it will support. I don't want to pay more money to use a PCI 802.11a/b/g only to discover that I can just conect to 11 Mbps and not 54 or so... Also, I found on the internet of the 802.11 cards g that promise speeds greater than 54 Mbps. Toshiba provides such a solution? If not, are there maps 802.11 g third-party compatible with my model? I hope that there is someone out there who can help me sort this mess.

  It is not easy to give you a proper answer. In my opinion, it should work, but it is also important to install a suitable driver for the wireless card. I'm sure that it is possible to install the driver for another model mobile using the same wireless card. It will be perhaps better to contact the Service partner and ask them because they have such information and more experience with this sort of thing.
