Satellite A100-338: how to move it or turn off bluetooth

Hello

I have an A100-338 on a platform of vista Home premium 32-bit that supports bluetooth. It has a bluetooth stack, but how do I turn it on or disable bluetooth?

I went to the toshiba download page and it suggests I have remove the battery and install the new driver called btmon vista and restart. It also States that I should then use the recovery disk to install the Bluetooth stack, see note 2 to read me first note text of new pilot (I might be missing just something here)

If I use the restore disc according to the manuals provided by toshiba, the laptop HDD a100-338 will be wiped on his first day of purchase. Really, I don't want to do this, but wish to use bluetooth.

Any help would be appreciated.

Concerning

Jim

Remove the Bluetooth Monitor software. Download the latest v5.10.06 of BT-right here:

http://APS.toshiba-tro.de/Bluetooth/redirect.php?page=pages/download.php

and install it. Make sure that the wireless switch is enabled if you are using Bluetooth built-in.

I had to restart my laptop after completing the update of windows, and after rebooting, it does not start in Windows, but for Express Media Player instead. The drive will turn off little matter what I do so I press on and press and hold the power button until the laptop turns off.

But when I turn it on again, the player is still there! Can someone tell me how can I turn the thing please?

    Hello

Express media player is installed on a different partition.
I guess your laptop try to boot from this partition first, and that's why the Express media player starts instead of your installed operating system.

Your operating system must be installed on the first partition and the Express media player must be installed on the last partition.

In disk management, you can check your partitions created on the HARD drive

  • Satellite A300 - 1 M 9 - cannot turn off Bluetooth

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite A300 - 1 M 9 with a new installation of Windows 7 x 64 ultimate. I installed all the drivers I could find, and the system works fine.

However, turning off the Bluetooth feature does not work. When I use the key FN to turn off bluetooth power turn on over 30 seconds, and when I turn it off Bluetooth settings it is also upward. In the center of Windows 7, I can see how the bluetooth device goes away when I turn it off and then quickly reappears.

How can I change this behavior so that it disables and active only when I said to do? :)

    Thank you

    Hello

Have you tried to turn Bluetooth off in Device Manager? It works or do you need Bluetooth from time to time?

I assume that you have installed the latest driver for Bluetooth on the Toshiba site?

Last but not least, you should try to update the BIOS. You can get the latest version on the Toshiba site.

    Hello allan299,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

According to your post, I see that you have any questions on how and when your computer shuts down, and how the WiFi on your Mac is affected. I know it's nice to be able to properly manage what happens when your computer stops and starts in mode 'sleep'. I'm happy to help you find the best resolution.

You're right, when your computer stops completely it will turn the Wi - Fi. If you enable the wake for network access, Wi - Fi remains lit, and you can access shared resources on your computer, such as printers or iTunes shared playlists even when your computer is in "sleep". Definition of a calendar closing and start on your Mac can also be useful.

Check out the following resources that will help the set options that control the energy use of your computer, sleep, and wake-up times for your Mac and the calendar from your Mac to turn on or turn off or go to sleep:

OS X Yosemite: energy saver Preferences

OS X Yosemite: set sleep and wake up on time for your Mac

OS X Yosemite: A schedule for your Mac to turn on or turn off or go to sleep

  • Satellite A100 PSAA8: How to order the Toshiba XP-> Vista upgrade CD

    Hello

    I just bought a Satellite A100 (psaa8)
I found that a document indicates that I can move on to Vista and a link but it does not work.

So can you please help me with this, I got bored of XP.

I read that some members ordered a free vista CD.
Can you tell me how to order and it is good or bad?

    Hello

Remember that this offer is limited by the date! I think you're too late dude!
But why you're bored? The XP is the OS really friendly and fully compatible with all 3rd party devices!
Vista needs a lot more use as XP and runs slower than XP. If you want to play games on your laptop, I would recommend staying with XP! All games run faster under OS XP!

You know the Vista Customization Pack? This allows you to use XP but it looks like a Vista.
You know, the whole images, icons, etc. will transform the look of Vista.

It s nice and for people who wants to change the old XP style new style Vista ;)

  • Satellite A100-784 - how can I make another copy of my recovery disc DVD

    Hi all

I have the Satellite A100-784, which comes with Vista Home...
How could I make another copy of the DVD from my recovery disc?

Also, I don't have the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator... is downloadable?

    Hello

You n t have the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator, because this Toshiba Software is preinstalled on laptops equipped with HARD drive recovery option.
I presume that you have received a Toshiba Recovery disk this laptop doesn t allow HARD drive recovery.
Therefore, you cannot create a new DVD of recovery using the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator.

What you could do is to copy the supplied recovery disk.

  • Satellite A100-216: can I move Windows.old for drive external HARD

    Hello

I got my satellite A100-216 almost 12 months, (and I'm pleassed with it, incidentally), and bought with XP, but she has the option (taken) to get the upgrade to Vista Home Premium.

I have finally plucked courage to Vista and have a question.

In the book, it says that the hard drive will be completely erased, and all must be safeguarded. OK - did this.
It lights up during loading to say that only a full upgrade is possible and that the old windows will be stored in a folder called "Windows.old" even if the operating system will be unusable.
There seemed no option but to agree with what is happening and lo and here is the record + Windows.old + is here, and it's * Gb * 6 in size!

After saving everything, can I really keep this large amount of things on my HARD drive. I can move it on my external hard drive?

The capacity of the HARD drive, (nominally 100 GB) but showing 93Gb shows 24,6 now used by Vista without other programs or drivers installed.

If I remove this 6 GB, I'll have a more reasonable 75 GB to play with.

The other option would have been to start on an OEM XP disk, opt for delete and re-create a primary partition and load Vista from there after the format. Would it be: r: work and B: use less space.

If the 6 GB file is all that it would save, I'll just save it on my external HARD drive.

    Thanks :)

    Hi Dave,.

The Windows.old folder is a backup of your files/folders/settings of your XP system etc.

It is automatically created during the process of update for Vista and is designed as a quick way to return to the earlier version of the operating system if you need to do. \obviously its value will decrease over time, once you start using Vista, because different files will become obsolete with the use.

The normal procedure is to remove these backup files "shadow", once you are happy that Vista is not working properly and there is an option to do it for you in the utiliy Vista disk cleanup.

  • Satellite A100-386 - how to upgrade the BIOS?

    Hello

I wanted just to update my old Satellite A100-386 with 4 GB of RAM (2x2gb Crucial) instead of 1 GB, as I am now running Windows7 Pro 64 bit instead of the original XP 32.

I read that I had to upgrade the BIOS as mine is v2.00. So, I downloaded the last of them.
It seems to be an automatic upgrade of BIOS (S10V600.exe) as mentioned on the site Web of Toshiba.
But when hit the .exe, I have a box of error message saying:
"LOADPEDRV. "EXE: could not start the service.

My question is: do I have to be 32-bit OS to run the upgrade of the automatic BIOS or is it possible to Flash the BIOS with a Windows7 64 bit OS run?

Thanks a lot for all answer as I found no 'how to' in search on this forum.

    Best regards
    François

    Hi FPSim,

Who said that you need to update the BIOS to upgrade RAM? The maximum RAM capacity depends on the motherboard and chipset and not BIOS.

Official website of Toshiba, I have seen that the model supports 4 GB of RAM so the BIOS update is not necessary. Increase the RAM and everything is ok.

  • Satellite A100-847: how to set 1680 x 1050 on external screen?

    Hello

    I have a problem.

    My laptop Satellite A100 - 847 PSA9E 2 GB of RAM, nvidia 7600 Go 256 MB.
    I also have external 22' SyncMaster 226BW WSXGA 1680 x 1050

The problem is that with the original driver (84.68) I can not set the resolution to 1680 x 1050, but I know that the video card supports. I tried the www.laptopvideo2go.com drivers but still those who do not work perfectly.

Can someone tell me what to do?
Perhaps the BIOS update can fix this problem? Or maybe another solution?

    Please help :(

According to the specification of the graphics card (in combination with the preinstalled display driver) doesn't support resolution 1680 x 1050. Supported resolution is 1600 x 1200.

If yiou can't find solution as a result of this web page, I really don't know what you can do. This page a little better. There must be detailed how change resolution modes.

  • Satellite A100 PSAA9C: How to do to record sound played by mixer

    I have a Satellite A100 PSAA9C TA902C. (This is my 5th Toshiba laptop)

My last was able to do the following: play music written by an author of music, which is through the midi mixing table, and enroll as a wav by Blaze Audio. On the last machine, A25-S279, I was able to select the entry list SW Synth. This console is not available for selection on the A100.

I contacted Realtek. She was told that this feature is not supported by Realtek ALC861 Audio device installed in the A100 for.
The last driver has been installed.

It is very difficult to believe that an edition of media machine has these restrictions. I never met this problem on a computer before.

What I want is to record from any device. But the system won't let me choose SW Synth. There is on the exit list. Not the entrance.

Anyone has a suggestion how to record sound played via mixer to a wav recorder?

    Stephen

What about using a 3rd party application?
Try to use All Sound Recorder XP I put t know the last version, but try the version 2.28. It s a license shareware and you can test.
