The A100-PSAA9 (A100-847) supports the 667 MHz RAM? The FSB is 667 MHz, but the laptop comes with 533 MHz RAM and everywhere that I looked for upgrades of RAM I've seen 533 MHz for this model.

    memory Finder: http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=25716&ft=m&st=3

    Hello

It should be able to use the Ram 667 MHz module, but the difference between the 533 MHz and 667 MHz is not noticeable.
I think the 533 MHz module is great and you are on the good side, if you use the modules to recommend Toshiba.

  • Satellite A100 - is compatible Ram 667 Mhz module

My question is if the memory module PA3512S-1M1G (bus 667 MHz) will be fully compatible with my A100-906 and won't have any problematic cooperation with my 1 GB ram PA3511U-1M1G (bus 533 MHz) base.

Toshiba site shows that PA3512S-1M1G is not compatible with A100s, while most of the sites of memory insist it is.

Can someone elucidate me with knowledge?

    Thank you

Generally you can use also the 667 Mhz modules in the laptop A100.
But the fact is that if the FSB is that only 533 Mhz then your 667 Mhz module will only work at 553 Mhz.

In my view, that modules should not be discarded then, either you use both 553 Mhz or 667 Mhz. But I advise to use the 553 Mhz due to the FSB value.

  • Is Satellite A100-233 does support Bluetooth?

    Hello
I have the Satellite A100-233. Can I establish internal bluetooth adapter in this model?

    Thank you

    Hello

All laptops with adapter BT have a BT tag at the bottom of the unit.
If your device has no label of BT, so the BT adapter has not been installed.

As recommended in the previous announcement, you can use an external solution as a USB BT's key. It is very easy to use.

    Hello

    > but when I installed the second RAM after the BIOS Windows screen accept 2 GB of RAM.
This means that you install RAM modules while the laptop is running?
I m wondering your laptop still works. Normally, you could destroy the whole motherboard and the module.

Anyway, to me it sounds like that your laptop isn't compatible with the memory modules vive. What modules do you have exactly?
I have good experiences with the Kingston modules.

  • Satellite A100-153 does support IrDA (infrared)?

    Hi all
I recently bought a Toshiba A100-153. My problem is I don't seem to have an infrared connection and I find no infrared driver for this model that I can use.
When I go to Device Manager I don't see any device for IrDA. And if I go to the Control Panel, there is also no specific infrared configuration. But the manual says that this model A100-153 has an IR port, and I see the Port on the front of my laptop (Dummy!)
Is there a driver I'm missing or if IR is not supported with this model (even if it have Ir Port)?

    Best regards
    Andra ©

    Hello

Check if Device Manager there is no entry of IrDA.
If support for laptop computer and IrDA port so it should appear in the Device Manager.

I downloaded a user manual and I found information that the port is provided only on some models.
Maybe you unit doesn t support this port.

I also found information that some units have been delivered with the remote control.
That's why the remote control uses the IrDA receiver window on the front of the laptop to communicate with the laptop. (It s not usual port IrDA window)

  • Satellite A100-847: is artificially capped in BIOS RAM frequency?

Well, this question has been asked before, but in a somewhat different way. The thing is that the CPU runs at 667 MHz and Intel 945 PM Express supports aliases PC5300 memory at 667 MHz. notebook was shipped with 512 MB of memory 533 MHz, so now I have two options:

    1. buy an another 512 MB of PC4200 RAM
    2. do not use it and buy two sticks PC5300

I think there should be some benefits of running of the synchronous RAM with CPU, all the new RAM does not work at a slower frequency (or even does not work).

    See you soon.

    Hello

667 MHz memory modules are a little faster than the 533 MHz modules, but the difference is small, and you will not see the benefits of great performances.

If you want to use the 667 MHz speed, you need to use both modules with 667 MHz because
If one of the modules will support 533 Mhz the other module (667 mhz) will also work with 533 Mhz max

In my view, it has 4 GB (2x2gb 200 pin 1.8 v DDR2 SoDimm PC2-6400) memory standard (800 MHz I think). I want to move to 8 GB and I saw the following offer: -.

    Concerning

    > My Satellite L500-19Z does support DDR3 memory?
    Say the user manual?
    Did you check that?

The support of memory depends on the chipset.
If the chipset does not support DDR3 so you cannot use it.
The chipset is Mobile Intel GM45 Express Chipset and AFAIK that support DDR2 800 MHz 8 GB max memory chipset.

  • Satellite A100 compatible with DDR 667 memory?

    Hello
I have a question about the compatibility of memory, it seems that the Toshiba Satellite A100 series has the new motherboard (945 PM).

The site intel, he says that this motherboard supports DDR 667. Although if you look closely at the specifications the A100 comes with memory DDR 533, isn't that strange? Or toshiba made to reduce the cost?

Thanks to all those who are willing to clearlify this problem

    Hello

There are different models of Satellite A100, but I found information that these modules of memory are supported:
    DDR2-533 256 MB (PA3389U - 2M 25)
    512 MB DDR2-533 PA3412U - 2 M (51)
    1 GB OF DDR2-533 (PA3411U-2M1G)

Depending on your region, can be supplied with the DDR2-533 or DDR2-667. These can be mixed, however, when mixed will default DDR2-533.

  • Satellite A100-847 - upgrade advice

    Hello

I use the Satellite A100 - 847 (PSAA9E) for almost two years. 2 years warranty be over within a month, so I guees this is good time for an upgrade. I could use more RAM and a faster HARD drive (for purposes of CAD especially when I'm on the track) so I would like to know more about it.

    * What I already found out which is my laptop: *.
(if I'm wrong with something to say please)

    1) ... May take 2 DDR2-DIMM modules; 4 GB max; which means 2x2gb. I have already 2X512GB, and it is not enough.
-The question is what DDR2 memory! The FSB is running on 667 MHz, so I guess I should buy PC-5300/667 or even 6400/800?
-What is the best memory for my laptop? Who gets very hot! What model is pretty cool?

    2) ... At a Hitachi Travelstar 5 K 100, 2.5 ", 5400 RPM, 8 MB, 100 GB SATA cache. The capacity is enough for me, but it's far too slow. So I guess I should to a 7200 RPM 16 MB disk cache.
-The question here is my laptop support SATA2 or is - this just SATA1? What shlould buy?
-My laptop does support disk 7200 RPM?
-My laptop overheating with this drive?

    3) ... Could have a more efficient cooling system. Is there a solution to this?

    Thank you in advance,
    adambar

    Hello

Googling autour I ve found track information:

The computer has two SO DIMM slot comes standard with the DDRII 4200 module. He
supports PC2-4200 and use SO DIMM (DDRII SDRAM) leads to 1.8 V, accepting
BTO/CTO for your memory needs. It can integrate up to 4 GB of hand
    memory.
By using the following formats of memory modules:
    256 MB (16 M × 16 × 8 P) / 533/667 MHZ
    512 MB (32 M × 16 × 8 P) / 533/667 MHZ
    1024 MB (64Mx16x8P) / 533/667 MHZ

If you want to use the maximum RAM, you must use two 2 GB. Toshiba recommends the use
2 x 2 GB RAM DDR2 PA3513U-1M2G. An alternative to this RAM module are modules memory high quality Kingston .

On HARD drive, I can say follow:
HARD drive interface compliant to Serial ATA (for 40/60/80/100/120 GB).
The computer can accommodate a HARD drive of 2.5 inches with all the following storage capabilities:
    40 GB SATA (9.5 mm thick) (5 400 rpm)
    60 GB SATA (9.5 mm thick) (5 400 tr/min/7200 RPM)
    80 GB SATA (9.5 mm thick) (5 400 tr/min/7200 RPM)
    100 GB SATA (9.5 mm thick) (5 400 tr/min/7200 RPM)
120 GB (5400 RPM) SATA (9.5 mm thick)

As far as I know that SATA2 is backward compatible and theoretically, you can use it, but I'm not sure about this. If I were you, I would by SATA1 HDD.
As you can see, Toshiba has tested 7200 RPM hard drives with this model of laptop, and you can use it also.
Maybe not overheating, but I can imagine that the plastic cover will be hotter than before. Make sure just the laptop is placed correctly and that there is nothing blocking the cooling fan.

More efficient cooling system? I put t know what you mean exactly end-to-end you can try something like this.

  • Satellite A100-847 - replacing a WLan card

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite A100-847. I would change as WIFI card for new with "n" standard.
I found some tutorials how to proceed, but it was for Toshiba A105, very similar to my only.

I opened the bottom cover where is memory and modem, but I couldn't see all the PCI ports.
    Is it possible to do?
Does work through mini-PCI or is integrated on the motherboard?

    Hello

The A100 PSAA9E supports a minPCI WLan card that supports the IEEE 802 standard. 11a / g WLan standards.
I m not 100% sure if it would be possible to upgrade the WiFi network with a WLan card 802.11 minPCI n because the two antenna cables.
You should first clarify if the antenna is compatible with the 802.11 standard new * WLan N standard *.

The minPCI wireless network card must be hidden under the keyboard. So you'd have to remove the keyboard first to get access to the wireless network card.
The wireless network card is also connected to two antenna cables. The cables must be removed carefully using a pair of tweezers. Then spread plugs securing the wireless LAN card until the card appears.

Usually it of not difficult to replace this WLan card but if you have no experience I wouldn t recommend doing this.
This replacement must be done by a qualified technician!
In addition you guarantee the validity could be cancelled after these updates.

Can someone tell me what to do?
Perhaps the BIOS update can fix this problem? Or maybe another solution?

    Please help :(

According to the specification of the graphics card (in combination with the preinstalled display driver) doesn't support resolution 1680 x 1050. Supported resolution is 1600 x 1200.

If yiou can't find solution as a result of this web page, I really don't know what you can do. This page a little better. There must be detailed how change resolution modes.
