Satellite A135-S4527: downgraded to Win XP - now system crashes

Hi all

I lowered recently from Win Vista to Win XP SP3.
Installed all the drivers required and everything works well.
I am faced with one of the problems are system crashes always like for every 5 min.

The mouse will not move, system will be inactive for a while, then resumes.
Can any body suggest me how to get rid of this problem...

Thank you...
Kiran

SP3 may cause problems on some PCs. I would like to try SP2 instead.

You can try to update the BIOS and update the drivers.

Also run Memtest in case there is a problem of the instability of the system. www.memtest.org

  • Satellite A135-S4527 - drivers needed & function keys do not work

    Hello

I have a Satellite A135-S4527. But when I got this computer it was without a recovery disk / disk to reinstall Vista and the Vista operating system that was installed was a bloated mess - it has been widely used by a person of lesser intelligence. In any case, I decided to get out the hard drive and put it in my SSD with Windows XP Professional SP3.

That's when the problems started to flow. It turns out that Toshiba doesn't support Windows XP operating system - I checked the site and was surprised to see a total lack of support for Windows XP (even though Windows XP is the dominant OS and a fortiori when this laptop has been done).

I managed to get the drivers installed, for everything except the modem. Easier to find drivers were Intel for Chipset / Motherboard and graphic processing of legacy unit. The thing is, I don't know if these are the official drivers and I'm completely lost on the drivers for the modem. Any idea where I can gain more - late and the biggest drivers of all my components?

    There are also some problems,
    -Brightness function keys do nothing
-Laptop computer sometimes comes out no mode 'sleep'

What can I do on the brightness keys? The monitor is sometimes a bit too bright to be comfortable to use. Yet, I'll have a chance to make those keys actually do something.

    Any help appreciated.

    Hello

To my knowledge, this must be a series of Toshiba laptops we.
Therefore, I visited the Toshiba driver page us to check the availability of driver.
And guess what? I found this, but unfortunately there is not a lot of drivers Win XP.

There are Vista and Win 7 but not Win XP drivers.
I guess that's all that's available for Win XP.
    So what to do?

I think you should try to install the missing tools which are released for other series of laptop; for example, A105-Sxxxxxx
Maybe you will get the driver works

Let's hope. Otherwise, you will need to use the laptop without these functions

  • Satellite A135-S4527 - updates system/hardware for my laptop?

    Hi all

I have a Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527. I use my laptop especially for listening to music on iTunes, surfing, email, chat, etc. Sometimes I would like to edit some pictures on photoshop and I'll add the new suite Microsoft Office ("Ultimate" package) to my system very soon because I have to start using my laptop for a few college courses.

I wonder how can I speed up my system? I noticed that when I try to open Photoshop, even on its own, my system starts to turn slowly (for obvious reasons... "It's a comprehensive program). Honestly, I forgot the specs for my laptop, but I think I bought a hard drive of 1 GB and maybe 512 MB of RAM or somewhere around there. I'll have to sift through my paperwork.

What are some updates I could buy to speed up my laptop and make it more relevant? Should I buy directly through Toshiba, or are there other products of the brand that will suffice for a more affordable price?

    Thanks to you all!

I think the best upgrade would be 2 GB of RAM. I put t know how much RAM you have at this time, but 2 GB should be possible and now prices of memory is very cheap.

As Akuma says you can make Windows faster if you do a reinstall or make you faster if you disable some services you need, clean startup in msconfig, defragment your HARD drive at any time and to this day.

    Hello

I ve checked the U.S. Toshiba support page and noticed that your laptop model is not supported for Windows XP Home edition, but for Vista 32 bit only.

Sorry, but you cannot use this option without the right tool WXP.

  • What kind of RAM I need for my Satellite A135-S4527?

I have a Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527. It came with 1 GB of RAM (DDR2 SDRAM). I would like to upgrade to 2... I was wondering if anyone knows what type/brand of RAM is installed at the factory, and if it is installed as 2 x 512 or 1 x 1024.

    Thank you.

The specification of your laptop model is unknown to me, but if you want to upgrade RAM check it please this page of Kingston.

  • Satellite A135-S4527 cooling fan works more efficiently

    Hello

I have an A135-S4527 and the cooling fan is having issues.
It works at low speed constantly, as it usually does, but almost never, he runs in mode high speed.
Clearly, it must be that the air temperature is high enough... about the temperature of the exhaust gases from the typical vehicle.

I'm worried that it will burn upwards if I have not fixed, but I don't know what needs to be fixed.
I use a "Chill Pad" USB power under him at all times to make it work more fresh than the factory settings, but this problem has arisen only recently.

I've owned this computer from a little less than two years now.
5 months in the property, the HARD drive failed and had to be replaced (it goes without saying, I save ALL my important files now).

Does anyone have information on this topic or the normal functioning of the cooling fan?
If so, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Nick

    Hello!

As Akuma, it could be that it takes more dust in the cooling fans or fan doesn t work properly.
So in your case, I'll try to clean first using a jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans. You can buy it at a computer retailer.

If it doesn't work you should sent to an authorized service provider. Technicians can check your laptop and clean.
Maybe the thermal compound must be renewed and technicians can do for you. It of a little more difficult to disassemble a computer laptop and you need to remove a large number of screws so he sent to an ASP.

  • Satellite A135-S4527 - no available motherboard

    I bought a laptop Toshiba A135 S-4527 in July 2007.
It has a 1 year international limited warranty. 2 months only after its warranty anymore, my laptop has stopped working. When it is administered for the service, they told me that the problem is with the motherboard and I need to replace the motherboard. While the replacement of the motherboard costs more than 50% of the total cost of your laptop, I was ready to pay the sum because that lots of important data is there in my laptop.

Now, here's the problem, they tell me the model of motherboard for my knees is not available now. Only 14 months of purchase, it's the kind of customer service you expect at Toshiba? And Yes, now I m facing a dilemma of losing all my important data with my laptop.

Anyone else have the same experience as me?

    Hello

Can we please clarify something? All your important data are not saved on the motherboard, but on the HARD drive and if you remove the HARD drive and connect to the other computer as external device you will have access to it.

So please do not panic about it.

I can't say much mainboard but this Satellite is not too old and I get new motherboard shouldn't be the problem.
Write here about it won't help you at all. Contact service again or try to communicate with each other. We walked free and you can search for a better service.
One more thing: all of these services are not Toshiba but small businesses that have contracts with Toshiba. If you're working a frustrated fool, that has nothing to do with Toshiba. Many of these suppliers have contract with several laptop manufacturers.

  • Satellite A135-S4527: need an extra power adapter

I want to buy an extra power cord. According to the specifications to this page: http://tinyurl.com/36atls the Unit came with a 65W adapter 100-240V (19V x 3. 42A) sector. However, on the same page of the spec under Accessories, it lists PA3516U-1ACA Toshiba 90W Adapter Global (19V, 4. 7A) RoHS.

I am confused as to what you seek?

    Thank you - kuspie

    Hello

Looks like the two adapters are compatible options and both are usable with this laptop.
Just try to ASP (certified partner) in your country and order the compatible adapter. They should send you a good!

  • Satellite A135-S4527 - Windows encountered problem & fails to load

At startup, Windows attempts to load, but I get the message Windows encountered problem communicating with a device. Windows does not load.
Tried all attempts for load in SafeMode etc but no luck. Tried to load the Toshiba Recovery utility but still no luck.

Fortunately the data is saved, but I have no recovery disks.

How can I get the recovery disc for this machine for delivery here in the United Kingdom when it is a product of the USA?
If the recovery discs can be ordered in the United States where to order? (I have an address to the United States for delivery if necessary).

    Hello

As far as I know here in Europe, you will not be able to recovery media order for the laptop models to the United States. If you have a person in the United States, they must contact the nearest authorized service provider and order it for you. Later they send it to you.

If you need to address and http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp?nav=Repair&sn=false check phone numbers

  • Where can I find a display for Satellite A135-S4527

my screen is broken and is out of warranty. where can I find a screen? a new or a used one. Thank you

    Hello

You can buy a new service provider authorized in your country.
They can order it at Toshiba directly.
But the new screen is very expensive, I think it costs about 300$-350$

In my opinion, a second hand LCD screen should be enough.
I would recommend some offers on a site of the famous auction and buying a second hand one

  • Satellite M100-180: put wrong password - error now 'system off 65017 '.

I had technical problems with my Toshiba Satellite M100-180.

Let me tell you a story.

    I bought my laptop on 13/12/2006 model is Toshiba Satellite M100 - 180 T2600 (2.16) G 1/100; Card mother HAQAA.

So, a month ago my laptop could not start due to asking me a password. HM... I never put the password on my laptop. So, I had brought my Toshiba at the center of service to this problem. So they tried they couldn't achieve success even if they strap the CMOS_CLR1.

Triple entering the wrong password my laptop gives this message: "system disabled 65017." So, as my Toshiba warranty is the guy in the service center have offered to replace the motherboard.

It seems too expensive, given that I could buy another new laptop (okay, it will, no doubt) for that price.
Really, I don't like this idea, because it's too expensive and I like really my laptop.

The guys in the service center said my private that, most likely, there is the content of the EEPROM was twisted. And if I'm going to find the same other portable executables, they could use his image from EEPROM to save my Toshiba.
    So, the question is.

Where to find this EEPROM image that fits my phone or how to solve the problem?

Please, help me, it's a question of work and success.
Please, I beg you. I'm really in despair...

    I know you answer.

    Hi mate

I think the guy meant the ROM module that is part of the motherboard and BIOS there maybe stored such ROM module needs to be replaced and would avoid the replacement of the motherboard
But this is only my personal opinion

Maybe you could buy a second-hand M100 where the motherboard is not too bad then just the motherboard could be changed and would not be expensive as new motherboard

    Welcome them
