Satellite A135-S4527 - no available motherboard

I bought a laptop Toshiba A135 S-4527 in July 2007.
It has a 1 year international limited warranty. 2 months only after its warranty anymore, my laptop has stopped working. When it is administered for the service, they told me that the problem is with the motherboard and I need to replace the motherboard. While the replacement of the motherboard costs more than 50% of the total cost of your laptop, I was ready to pay the sum because that lots of important data is there in my laptop.

Now, here's the problem, they tell me the model of motherboard for my knees is not available now. Only 14 months of purchase, it's the kind of customer service you expect at Toshiba? And Yes, now I m facing a dilemma of losing all my important data with my laptop.

Anyone else have the same experience as me?

Can we please clarify something? All your important data are not saved on the motherboard, but on the HARD drive and if you remove the HARD drive and connect to the other computer as external device you will have access to it.

So please do not panic about it.

I can't say much mainboard but this Satellite is not too old and I get new motherboard shouldn't be the problem.
Write here about it won't help you at all. Contact service again or try to communicate with each other. We walked free and you can search for a better service.
One more thing: all of these services are not Toshiba but small businesses that have contracts with Toshiba. If you're working a frustrated fool, that has nothing to do with Toshiba. Many of these suppliers have contract with several laptop manufacturers.

    I have a Satellite A135-S4527. But when I got this computer it was without a recovery disk / disk to reinstall Vista and the Vista operating system that was installed was a bloated mess - it has been widely used by a person of lesser intelligence.     What can I do on the brightness keys? The monitor is sometimes a bit too bright to be comfortable to use. Yet, I'll have a chance to make those keys actually do something.

    Any help appreciated.

    I ve checked the U.S. Toshiba support page and noticed that your laptop model is not supported for Windows XP Home edition, but for Vista 32 bit only.

    I think the best upgrade would be 2 GB of RAM. I put t know how much RAM you have at this time, but 2 GB should be possible and now prices of memory is very cheap.

    As Akuma says you can make Windows faster if you do a reinstall or make you faster if you disable some services you need, clean startup in msconfig, defragment your HARD drive at any time and to this day.

    At startup, Windows attempts to load, but I get the message Windows encountered problem communicating with a device. Windows does not load.
    Tried all attempts for load in SafeMode etc but no luck. Tried to load the Toshiba Recovery utility but still no luck.

    Fortunately the data is saved, but I have no recovery disks.

    SP3 may cause problems on some PCs. I would like to try SP2 instead.

    I think that the A135-S2276 supports SATA HDD so I doubt that the issue of the LBA48bit could be the reason.
