Satellite A210-1AO - support SATA2 hard drives?

I have Toshiba Satellite A210-1AO and I want to spend her hard drive.
It does support SATA2 hard drives?

Hello

Disks hard SATA2 can be used in every laptop or computer with SATA interface. The new SATA2 interface has the same connector and downgrade compatible. This means that SATA2 is faster, but only in theory. Hard drives are not fast enough to achieve these speeds possible.

In addition there is no limit of capacity on SATA interface you can buy what you want and have fun with the new HARD drive! :)

Can I replace the original HDD with ssd HARD drive? And where can I found the DSS Satellite A210-1AO drive compatibility list?

I doubt you can find a list of the SSD compatible discs for Satellite A210 since the Satellite A210 where not tested and not equipped with these drives
But as far as I know, there is not much difference between the use of the common SATA HDD or SSD SATA drive.

As mentioned, the laptop supports the SATA controller and you can use an SSD designed for SATA controllers
Usually this SSD drive should be ok.

  • Satellite a210-171 needs new HARD drive

I took the laptop to the computer repair shop, they want to charge me £100 to replace the HDD with a 500 GB one and reinstall windows. I am not satisfied with the service, the length of time necessary to diagnose the problem or the price then I refused to let them fix it. It took 3 days to identify the problem and more they can not even give me a quote until they had installed the new hard drive!

Is it easy enough for me to replace the HARD drive? I don't really know where he is, than only what disk HARD buy! I have the original recovery disk, it will load everything once I have replace the HARD drive?
I need really, really little help and advice here!

  • Satellite Pro A210 PSAFHE: need new HARD drive compatible

    Hello

Jealous of my relationship with my Tosh laptop - my wife - angry of stupidity, decided to slam closed
    OOPS, it no longer works.

After cooling down - she did not apologize, BUT said she would pay for the repair.

After investigation, I feel it may be the hard drive - I have re-installed from master disks and it worked sort of--even allowed to install aol.
AND he then stopped loading - hearing closely it seems to be looking for the hard drive to complete the load.
    It's a Toshiba Satellite Pro A210 IB1 model PSAFHE - 00800PEN and has a Hitachi hd
    HARD DRIVE: 5K 250-160
    Model: HTS542516K9SA00 5 v DC 700mA 160 GB SATA 5400 RPM

I can't seem to find one anywhere - tried to contact Toshiba to know what would be appropriate replacements - picking the winning lottery numbers would be easier to get through Toshiba. So I thought I would try the forums.
In my opinion, it's the hard drive BUT as a mere mortal, I could be wrong - all advice would be appreciated.

    Hello

It seems that the laptop supports a HARD drive 2.5 SATA.
As the controller SATA HDD has no limitation, all SATA 2.5 hard drives should be compatible.

If you want, so you can choose a 250GB 2.5 SATA HDD THAT and normally it should work as part of your laptop.

    Satellite A210-1AO (Psaele)

According to the specifications of the laptop , your machine can be upgraded up to 4 GB of RAM.
Initially, it has 2 x 1 GB inside.

I recommend you buy 100% compatible memory modules and Kingston is one of the best options for you. Compatible 2 GB of RAM for your Satellite KTT667D2 part number a / 2G.

This old machine was designed for Vista, but it works perfectly with Windows 7. He is not taken in charge for Win8/Win8.1 so, in my opinion, there is no sense to install it.

  • Need the original BIOS for Satellite A210 - 1AO PSAELE

    Hi all!

long in vain looking for the original BIOS for my satellite A210-1AO PSAELE-03Q00FRU (Vista32bit preinstalled).

Unfortunately I've updated and laptop lost the ability to disable.
VERY noisy DWD - ROM (TS-L632H) through the BIOS (but it worked without a doubt with the original BIOS)
It is also impossible to turn it off through the Device Manager (tried several times).

I looked for BIOS anywhere where I could (Yes, I tried to download & support from Toshiba for Europe, USA, Canada, China, Russia - no. satellite A210 PSAELE BIOS in lists, even for the A200 PSAELE).

Written in support of the Russia of Toshiba - no result. the point is that I don't know bios original version for my model, so I tried BIOS version 1.1, 1.4, 1.5, 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.3 - no result.
The latest idea is to physically remove the DVD-ROM, but it is the solution.

So where can I find that BIOS? or you recoomend a truly customer friendly toshiba can support office?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Satellite A210-1AO is hot & needs drivers XP

First of all, I ask forgiveness for my English. I am originally from Ukraine, and my knowledge of English is not very good.

    1. my Toshiba Satellite A210 1AO is very hot and I want to know, - is this normal?
I know the Turrion AMD x 64 processor can warms up and so I do not know to do something.

    2. I want to install Windows XP on my laptop. What kind of driver I need to install after installing Windows XP.
I mean, whose devices cannot operate without pilots?

    Thank you.

    1. check if there is no dust blocks the outtakes of hot air, so yes, it is just to use a compressed air spray to clean.

2 go and visit this page: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com (Support & downloads)

Select your model laptop and the XP operating system. You will find all the drivers and utilities you need. To check if there are any devices that can not install Windows, just go to control panel - system - device manager. Check all the devices with yellow exclamation points. If you're lucky, you can find out which device it is, but often not.

I suggest to download the drivers and install it.

  • Satellite A210-1AO: modem are not not in Device Manager

I bought toshiba Satellite A210-1AO part number: PSAELE-03Q009G3 with Windows Vista Home Premium.
There are a lot of unwanted software from toshiba (bloatware) and I wanted a clen of OS windows vista installation, so I downloaded all the drivers from toshiba europe web site and update bios version 1.90.

I installed vista and the driver necessary, video, recorder, bluetooth monitor, flash media... I realized that this modem is not listed, when I try to install modem driver progress bar if poster and work until the end and then disappear but modem is not listed in Device Manager.
After many tests modem is still not present or detected by the operating system.

Mention that I have not any exclamation point in Device Manager and all devices are installed.
I tried to go back to the old State with toshiba recovery cd and's done it without problem but modem is not present in that too much. BIOS does not include an option to turn on or turn off the modem, so I don't know if it's the new 1.90 bios problem or what?
Else this medication works very well.

How to activate the modem? modem port is of course present.

Are you 101% sure that you see the modem in Device Manager?

I have a 10Y A210 and in Device Manager, the modem is listed below the mouse and other pointing devices.

  • Satellite A210 - 1AO PSAELE - black screen problem

    Hello.

I have a strange problem with LCD on my Satellite A210-1AO. Sometimes LCD does not work. The problem is only at startup, only not on closing LCD display or sleep mode. If I connect an external monitor - there is a picture, but with strange random points and lines. But if I remove the battery and the power adapter and leave the laptop for hours - after all can work very well (for days or weeks, even at startup). And then the problem reappears.

Where could be the problem? Card video or LCD or something else?

    > If I connect an external monitor - there is a picture, but with strange random points and lines.
    > But if I remove the battery and the power adapter and leave the laptop for hours - after all can work very well

Have you noticed a higher temperature while this happens?
I mean that the higher temperature could affect the GPU (graphics chip) that cause this lines and points
    It wouldn't be unusual.

Updating the graphics driver, what would you say?
    You use the Toshiba page?
    Do it!

I've got A210 with an ATI GPU, and everything is OK!

  • Can satellite M70 - I use all hard drives 2.5 "?

All HDD 2.5 "can be put in Satellite M70 or they must have specific dimensions? For example, I thin on Samsung spinpoint [model: http://www.pricerunner.com/pl/36-765680/Hard-Drives/Samsung-SpinPoint-T166-320GB-SATAII-7200rpm-Compare-Prices].

It will be OK for my laptop?

    Hello!

As far as I know the Satellite M70 was available with hard drives SATA and IDE hard drives. If you have a SATA HDD, you can use this HARD drive.

The Satellite M70 takes to load only SATA150 (SATA1) but this isn't a problem. All SATA2 HDDs runs SATA1 mode and are 100% compatible.

    Good bye

  • Satellite M70-192 - question of HARD drive replacement

    Hello...

It's just my first time to ask for help in this forum... and besides, in any forum on the whole wide net.
So, sorry if am don't do this right... that's...

My brother bought a laptop (Toshiba Satellite M70 - 192 psm71e-01k00rar) of the Kuwait around 2006. A few months ago we started hearing "noise noise deaf deaf" - ing sound inside the camera and the screen is just deleted (there was an error message that is encrypted but I wasn't able to note it). I was able to boot from the DVD or USB drive. So I thought that maybe the hard drive has been the only problem.

I put in a new HARD drive (a 320 GB western digital scorpio wd3200bevt) and started to reinstall the system (I forgot which of the 2 supplied Toshiba cd I inserted first - media cd or the windows xp CD-ROM) but in the middle of installing the keyboard area was so hot that I unplugged / stop the laptop immediately.

After that, the HARD drive has become invisible to any Linux or rescue CD or utility of HARD drive that I tried to boot from... (fortunately?) The said HDD vendor as the HARD wd scorpio drive + really + defective and they replaced...

    * now the questions: * I discovered that the rated current for the HARD drive (60 GB) provided originally for the Toshiba M70 is a little bigger than the new wd scorpio *(.55 amp) *. Could this be the reason why the 1st WD Scorpion got "fried"?
    Is it a SATA1 - SATA2 question?
How can I _properly_ replace/upgrade our laptop HARD drive?

Please note that before I bought the new HARD drive, I ve read somewhere in the "net I could use a disk sata2 on a sata1 controller, etc. + * pls help!" * +

Toshiba services are simply too expensive for me right now if will send it (cell phone) in a licensed shop. Why I'm in DIY mode that s. I don't think I can afford an another fried Scorpion!

    Thank you!
    yours,
    TAC

    > I discovered that the rated current for the HARD drive (60 GB) provided originally for the Toshiba M70 is a little bigger than the new wd Scorpion (.55 MPA). Could this be the reason why the 1st WD Scorpion got "fried"?

I don t think that a larger and faster HARD drive might be the reason for the higher internal temperature.
You said that you have heard and his strange "noise noise deaf deaf." Such sound could be created by the defective cooling module. A defective module could be responsible for the highest internal temperature

    > Is it a SATA1 - SATA2 question?
    Here's your second thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums//message.jspa?MessageID=150272
You can see that the SATA2 is compatible to the bottom and the s SATA2 HARD drive would work with common controller SATA HDD.

    > How can I properly replace/upgrade our laptop HARD drive?
Replacing the HARD drive is not difficult. I see that you have already found the HARD drive Bay and bought a HARD drive.
In your case I recommend using the common SATA 2.5 HARD drive with 100 GB maybe 120 GB.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite A210-1AO: sometimes the colors on the screen become unnatural

Hello. I have a Toshiba Satellite A210 1AO two months ago and collided with a following problem.
Very rarely (once a week) on the screen colors become suddenly against natural.
The problem even if it means opening / closing of coverage.

    Really the material damage?
    The problem is rarely enough.

    Hello

I m an owner of a portable Satellite A210-10Y but I didn t notice a similar problem; running under Windows XP OS or using the Vista.

I don t want to publish stories great but perhaps that the problem of color could be linked to the issue of the material.
Maybe part of laptop as displays, FL-ups or graphics card would be malfunctions

In my view, a check of laptop would be useful and I recommend you contact the ASP.
If your warranty is the replacement of any piece of material must be covered by warranty.

PS; Updating the graphics driver, what would you say? Did you use the latest graphic drivers Toshiba?

  • Display on Satellite A210-1AO problem

I have a Satellite A210-1AO running Windows Vista.
Since a couple of months, or a recurring questions arose: at random times the laptop gets lines across the entire screen. The lines aren't straight, they're more like following the shape of the image (so * they change according to the image of the screen *) and are in color (I think mostly green, but not sure). I often turn off the pc then and the next time I turn it on is fine. Once, however, during the closure, the screen went white but the pointer/cursor was always visible.

The incidents are more frequent. Once, I tried to unplug the charger when it happened and lines began to blink and be even more worrying, so I plugged the charger while I turned off the laptop.

You have any ideas what might trigger such behavior?

On the virtual path that is not easy to offer accurate diagnosis but I think the graphics card is the troublemaker and I m afraid that it will be even worse in the future.
Graphics card is part of the motherboard, so a kind easy fix or replacement is not possible.

  • Satellite P500-12D adding 2nd HARD drive

Toshiba UK say it is not possible to install a second drive in a P500-12D.
The reason seems to be that the "bowl" for the second disk drive carrier is not sold.
I was also told that the second drive Bay could not be used "on the model" but the sata connection is there and inserts brass threaded in the case of the scree of the carrier are present.

The Bay is deeper than 1 Bay (for the thicker > 500 GB drives and, therefore, the support unit for the 1st Bay can be used - entire centres are also different.)

    Ideas for a work around?

Sorry for the spelling mistakes - my original message would not be accepted "your message contains profanity or inappropriate language.
In the interest of your fellow forum users, we ask you to change your message.
"but no indication as to where." Maybe it's that the things happening in the threaded inserts are not allowed

    Peter K

    > The reason seems to be that the "bowl" for the second disk drive carrier is not sold.
The reason is that there are different configurations of P500
The P500 and other series of Toshiba laptops are equipped with different motherboards.
Not all motherboards support 2 HARD drive controllers.

This can be a bit confusing for someone buying a laptop and see the second HARD drive Bay, but if you would remove the 2nd HARD drive Bay cover, then you will see that there is no HARD drive connector.
This means that you will not be able to use the second HARD drive.
