  Your problem is caused by a bad connection where the power adapter is connected to the Jack at the back of your laptop. A slight movement of the cable causes a momentary loss of contact and electronics of management power in Notepad is deceived into beleiving that the battery is no longer available, in which case when the battery goes out and the laptop will return to the battery power even if the AC adapter is connected.   Recently, I sent my Satellite A30 for repairs because the touchpad is dead. Since I had 'fix', his erratic behavior. Sometimes, I lost all the horizontal movement, with only the operation of the vertical direction.   I have a laptop Satellite A30-303. Somehow, independent programs open in Windows XP (Home, Pro edition, tried both), computer laptop unexpectedly shutw down, stop immediately. No message from windows, no errors of any kind, nothing, just the way it went.

  It's very strange. I have read all of the instructions, did the bios update to 1.80 (dated Sep 15) and still the same thing.

  Fact checking for viruses, all firewalls security and it did not help at all.

  Anyone have any ideas?

  I need to restore the HD of Satellite A30 of my boy.

  I have satellite A30 and I reinstall windows xp at home, but I can't find any com port whenever I try to query the modem the display hardware confilct, but in Device Manager no sign of error/confilct, I did everything what I can.

  disable the printer port
  change the printer port
  Reinstall derver modem,
  In short, I've done everything I can. its always show (! yellow) mark.if I add the port and if I remove the port and there is no sign of error.

  I have a Satellite A30 921. After you download the Service Pack 3 Windows the power management tools cannot either Hibernate & sleep functions. Microsoft Help said I needed to update my BIOS. However, BIOS for this laptop is not available online-not that I can find!

  I have Satellite M70 and always use it with SP2 because a lot of people here have reported on the various problems after the installation of SP3 and I don't want to have an any of them on my laptop.
