  Nice day
  Recently, I got myself a big 19 "screen and hooked it up to my satellite S 1900-102, a slightly older laptop.
  The problem is that I can't run to the desired screen resolution, so text and graphics seem blurry.
  The card inside the machine is an ATI Mobility M6.
  I downloaded the latest driver from Toshiba, but still it does give me the option of resolution for the big screen (1440 x 900, I think).

  Does anyone know a work around for this problem? Patches? Alternative drivers?

  The 1440 x 900 screen resolution cannot be chosen because the graphics driver does not support this resolution.
  I checked the hardware specifications of the graphics chip, and it seems that the GPU supports:
  Display on screen LCD internal
  800 x 600 64K / 16 M colors (own section)
  1024 x 768 64K / 16 M colors
  External CRT monitor:
  800 x 600 64K / 16 M colors
  1024 x 768 64K / 16 M colors
  1280 x 1024 64K / 16 M colors
  1600 x 1200 64K / 16 M colors

  However, if the graphics driver does not support one of these resolutions you will not be able to choose!

• Satellite A10: LCD does not display correctly

  One of my users has an A10 with a screen problem. The LCD screen is not displayed correctly. You can only see the things on the screen, but they are very very low, essentially unusable. I hooked to an external monitor, which works very well! If someone has had this problem, and if so what was the solution. I incerased brightness etc, but to no avail. Am I missing something very basic?

  It seems that your FL inverter has failed. It is a component material that offers the backlight to your screen.

  Typical symptoms of failure are that the screen will be visible, but only just, while an external monitor works perfectly.

  It of great that you've made a video of your problem, most other users don t do that, but it makes history. :)

  In any case, it is really hard to say what part is causing this problem. Either it's internal display itself or graphics card. Easiest way to check this is connect an external monitor and check what is happening.

  So if it was a normal external VGA monitor image it seems to be the graphics card. This means that the motherboard must be replaced and this can be done from an authorized service provider. Then get in touch with the guy and ask for help.

• Mozilla site does not display correctly

  I just installed Windows 10 (64 bit) on a new PC and downloaded and installed Firefox. I tried to install some add-ons, but immediately found that the Mozilla Web site did not display correctly: text is displayed, but not graphics.

  Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

  What is your location.  The reason why I ask this is that your keyboard is set to the standard UK layout.  Looks like you have the keyboard for the U.S. keyboard layout.  Shift + 2 is the "on the UK keyboard, @ on the U.S. keyboard."

  To change the keyboard settings you must go to "Control Panel", then "regional and language options".  The first page allows you to set the number format and character relative to your location and also set the location.  Check these and modify accordingly so badly.  You want to then go to the second 'languages' tab and click on the button "Details".  Here you can set the default keyboard.  This changes if necessary.  This should, hopefully restore your keyboard to the presentation that you want.
