Satellite A300D-226 (PSAHCE) - battery is 0% all the time

So the situation looks like this, got full battery, and then unplugged, then I used the computer and didn't seen the caveat on the set of reason without battery, so my laptop just turned off. Later, I plugged the cable from the charger and after some time, I recognize that the battery is not its 0% all the time. When I unplug the charger is shut off my computer.

Can someone help me? Computer is 2 years. The light on the charger is plugged into the lighting is so its ok but the charger light is not lighting and when I type mouse battery on the corner of the screen, it says plugged in, does not support.

"While I type battery on the screen it says ' 0% plugged in, does not support".

Hey Buddy,

Can you do a little test please?
Remove the battery and try to start your laptop with AC adapter only.

If your computer starts correctly it s just a malfunction of the battery, or AC adapter is affected. Of course, it could be mainboard itself too, but swap the battery or an AC adapter / CC should be the first step and is not that expensive.

Hi, I have a problem with my wireless connection fall all the time on my Satellite Pro A300 1EA.

It happened earlier, but I've fiddled about a little with change of drivers and the removal of the connection settings for the registry and it then worked fine for months, until yesterday.

There were several updates for Windows installed yesterday, but none of them have been updated driver for the wireless card, and they don't look like they should cause problems. The fact that the problem happened before makes me think that the updates can be anything to do with it.

I use the * Intel PRO/Wireless 3945/4965/5100/5300 * for Vista 32 - bit version 12.2.0.11.3 drivers from the Toshiba download page.

Other computers on the same access point have no problem, so I think it is specific to this laptop. The connection speed is normally 6 Mbps, but I cannot even check e-mail now without the abandonment of the connection.

Laptop will be thrown against a wall soon if no one can help you.

    Thanks in advance.

Edit: I've already made sure power settings are at maximum to the WLAN card, even if on battery, or what power management.

    Hello

Have you tried to use the Windows System Restore feature? After that your WLAN should work fine again.

In addition, I can recommend the latest WLAN driver in the Intel page, it s version 12.4.xxxx. I installed the driver on my Qosmio laptop and don t have any problems with it: [www.intel.com].

    Hello Eldorado,

I'm sorry this isn't a question in relation to the subject, but I have L300 - laptop 17L and from time to time she stops (specifically put it yourself in stand-by) without any reason.

It is not the cooler or something else...
The battery is full, and what happens while I'm writing or working on the laptop computer in general!
Local service says it's nothing wrong with the laptop, I'm so nervous, I can't work, it's interrupting my work...

    PLEASE HELP ME! Thank you

    Hello

    What happens exactly?
Is - what the laptop stops or go in mode sleep?

You said it happens from time to time, this means that it is not easy to reproduce this problem, and I think that the technician was not able to reproduce this is good?

What applications are running if this happens?

Have you tried to restore the laptop to factory settings using the recovery disk or recovery disk? Do this!
Also check if your BIOS is up to date!

  • Satellite A200 - overheating all the time

    Hi y ' All

I have a satellite A200 laptop computer that keeps overheating all the time.
I tried to do the thing of compressed air and she always does.
    Especially when am games online.
I've had this laptop for about a year now, and it already has an accident and burn on me and everything lost hard disk.
But this overheating is really annoying me.
I still have the clear fan so that it still works ok.
And there is no dust or dirt there either.
Can someone tell me what could be the problem?
And also I would like to know how I can format it so, it doesn't let me do.

Any suggestions would be appreciated muchly

    See you soon

    Wolfette.

Do you use the certified Toshiba graphics card driver?
You should do this in order to ensure that the graphics card would not overheat.
The driver of Toshiba GPU supports protection against overheating and control the dissipation of the heat created by the graphics chip.

But if you already use the Toshiba drivers, then the problem could be more complicated.
In this case, the laptop must be verified by technician ASP.

Maybe the thermal grease that is placed between the CPU and the GPU must be renewed.
At the time the thermal fold becomes dry and rough and cannot conduct heat well.

    In many cases, it helps.

Last but not least, you must use the Toshiba certified graphics card driver because this driver supports protection against overheating and the dissipation of the heat created by the GPU of the controls.
You must also make sure that the laptop is on the table and that there is enough free space around the laptop to ensure good air circulation.

  • Satellite A300D - Turn off all the time

My wife has a Satellite A300D (model PSAK4E) and it keeps closing. The two randomy and when induced under certain conditions

Previously, I tested the HARD drive and found bad sectors then replaced with a 64 GB SSD. I tried to install Windows 7 but it kept fault towards the end. So I reset the machine without a battery and now the power button for 2 minutes to clear the memory. Installed Windows 7 + updates.

I was worried about stopping all the time but flashed the BIOS. Flash worked.

Laptop resets always? I have reviewed several possible causes and wanted to get other peoples ideas
1 HARD drive - replaced and even resets
    2. battery - ran on power sector only and even resets
3 overheating - sometimes under certain conditions (memmory tests or you try to run certain applications) or randomly (without reason)
    4. a broken circuit somewhere on the motherboard
5 - completely new OS + software resets the laptop when using some applications from a live disk.

Thank you inadance for the help

    Hi me_in_oz,

Theoretically the laptop turn off itself due to a higher internal temperature to protect the equipment against damage.
In this case, you will need to clean the laptop using jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans. It is easy and takes only a few minutes to check out this article:
[How to clean a Toshiba laptop cooling system? | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=40]

Otherwise it seems to be a serious hardware problem and your laptop should be checked for professional people. Probably it s a malfunction of the motherboard

  • Satellite A300D restarts all the time

    Hello

My Toshiba Satellite A300D 14 p restarts all the time and I can't do anything!
I turned it off last night and today, when I pressed the power button it worked for 1-2 seconds and then again did a restart.

My screen doesn't show anything (because it only works for 1-2 seconds).

    Any ideas?

And last night, everything was OK?
Have you installed anything it either on it or maybe update the BIOS?

Unplug the AC adapter / CC, remove the battery and leave it for a while. Later, connect the power adapter only and try to turn on your laptop.
    The same thing happens again?

I use my MacBook Air as a desktop computer. Should I leave the charger plugged all the time or should I drain the battery and then recharge? What is the best for the battery?

Keep the computer plugged in whenever possible.

If you keep the computer always connected, make sure that at least twice a month

Run it on battery until battery charge level falls to about 40-50%.

Please don't completely discharge the battery. Discharge the battery completely will reduce wear and tear on the battery.

Citing at the bottom of the linked article.

"The question is often asked:" should I disconnect my laptop from the mains when not in service? Under normal circumstances it should not be necessary because as soon as the lithium-ion battery is full, a properly functioning charger will stop the load and load the pad will only engage when the battery voltage drops to a low level. Most of the users do not remove AC power, and this practice is safe. »

  • Satellite Pro P200-15W: update according to BIOS 1.9 fans walk all the time

I have a Satellite Pro P200-15W. After recently running the BIOS update to version 1.9, the fans started running all the time and are extremely loud. Also, he did weird things for Firefox, Thunderbird and NAV.

I would like to "Uninstall" the update of the BIOS if possible. I found [this link: http://askiris.toshiba.com/ToshibaSupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=1080 89xml & sliceId = & dialogid = 24408215 & stateId = 0% 200% 202 4406262] who treats the restore running CD.

If I run this CD, which will certainly restore the BIOS to the previous version?

Is there a less destructive way (ie: that does not erase the hard drive)?

    Thank you

    Hello

It seems that the picture of the fan was changed and renewed in the new version of BIOS, and so fans run fall.
Why the table fan has been changed?

Well, usually something like this is necessary to improve the reduction of the internal temperature while the CPU and GPU are running with maximum performance.
This helps to prevent the equipment from damage!

    > would like to "Uninstall" the update of the BIOS if possible. I found this link that explains the running restore CD. If I run this CD, which will certainly restore the BIOS to the previous version?
    > Is there a less destructive way (ie: that does not erase the hard drive)?

Usually, the recovery CD formats the whole HARD drive (partitions too) and installs only the image of Toshiba on the notebooks of HARD drive. The image contains the OS, drivers and additional software and has nothing to do with the BIOS update.
But you can try to recover the laptop to see if you can solve the problems of software!

If you want to reverse the BIOS, you will need to contact the ASP in your country!

Sorry, but all I can suggest.

    Best regards

  • Satellite Pro A120 - fan run all the time

OK, so this is a strange...

I have a satellite Pro A120. It works with the fan on all the time and sometimes goes on a mayor go slowly (which I think can be reduced to overheating).

Operating system is Ubuntu and I installed the tool of sensors that tell me about the minute the temperature is 100 degrees c and the next one is 16!

I suspect that it is perhaps that the heat sink is full of fluff, but I can't find a guide step by step to dismantle the machine, clean it and put it back together again.

Can anyone help with ideas or resources?

    Thank you very much

    Nathan

    Hello

You do not need to disassemble the unit to clean the fans.
You can use a jet of compressed air which helps to remove dust.
I did it several times and it helped!

    Try it!

  • Satellite R630 - fan runs all the time

    Hello everyone,

I have a Satellite R630, and I'm happy with it. But there is one thing that makes me angry... the fan! It runs ALL the time. I browse a little... the fan works. I work with the office, or something... the fan works. To clarify: the CPU is not used, there is no heavy processes running, and the Notebook\CPU is cool. There is no reason why the fan should work, all the laptops that I had before where calm in the same situations. Of course it is not a problem if it starts working if necessary (a game, looking for a HD video or something). But not without reason!

Someone at - it a solution for this problem? A tool to fix the fan speed\intervals manually, or better: an update of the bios (in the version 1.4 and 1.5 I can choose what I want... the fan did not stop execution). It is also quiet in Linux or any other operating system.

@Toshiba: (!) Please do something. The only solution for me right now is to return the laptop to the store. :-(

    Best regards

    Hello

Hmm... If you have already installed the latest BIOS updates, you should check the cooling of Windows Power management settings. Generally you can switch between different methods of cooling as you can read here:

  • Satellite Pro 4600: Win2k with SP4 - cooler run all the time

    Hello

last week, I bought a used Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 PIII, 1 GHz, 512 GB of Ram, WIFI and DVD burner. Great machine so far.

After that I changed the FAT32 file system to NTFS and reinstalled Win2K/SP4 cooler runs all the time.

TaskManager says that "THOT_KEY.exe" uses up 99% of the CPU power. Disabling this service reduces the power of the processor and the cooler was quite, BUT didn't really helped - lots of keys does not work.

I ran a few utilities to disinfect as Kaspersky, NOD32 etc. to ensure that Ia´ve not taken some malware.
Should I try a bios update or change some settings?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for help

    Hello

AFAIK the THOT_KEY.exe belongs to the Toshiba Hotkey utility that controls the various key functions.
If you disable this service, you will not be able to use the FN keys more.
I m not 100% sure why this service uses 99% of CPU performance, but perhaps that it s not completely compatible with the W2K service packs. Where did you download this utility? I found it on the page of Toshiba Europe!

In my opinion, you should try to reinstall the system again. This is probably the key!

    Good luck

  • M35 satellite turns off all the time

My Satellite M35 turns off all the time.
    Trigger, then it dies.

    Advice please

Seems to be a problem of overheating!
Usually, this happens because the cooling modules cannot turn with maximum performance and cannot cool the internal devices properly!

Why is this happening? Well, the reason is the dust and debris that prevent the fans work properly!
I recommend cleaning with compressed air stream fans that can be purchased in most computer resellers!

  • My Satellite A100 GPU fan works 100% all the time

First: I have the Satellite A100-440 with GeForce Go 7300 and XP Professional (and Ubuntu).

There is something wrong with thermal control. The first PC Wizard has always shown that the temperature of my GPU is "a very large number" and the fan is runnign 100% all the time (the main problem). Then I installed ATItool hoping he would show the temperature correctly. Well, it worked in part. Now when I check the temperature with PC Wizard, it indicates the temperature of the GPU normally (like 30-40 degrees celsius), but it also shows the GPU Diode temperature it's "a very large number" (as 4.294967E + 09 C) and the fan will operate at 100%.

I tried to control fans with RivaTuner, but nothing happens.

So if anyone has an idea how I could continue to solve the problem, I would be very grateful. I don't know if the problem is with the hardware (I could take this service) or with the software...

    Thank you!

    Hello

Why are you talking about 'problem' and 'solve this problem?
    I see no problem!
First of all I'm not all 3rd party applications that monitor temperatures. I'm not 100% sure if these applications provide a good values.

However, as far as I know the laptop was shipped with Vista and not XP and Linux. You do not use a factory settings. It seems that you have set up the laptop with new applications and you should know that all the software installed and running insists on the CPU and other parts.

BIOS fan table supports different temperature and cooling of the speed measurements. This means that if the temperature rises to a higher level, the cooling module starts and tries to decreases the internal temperature.

Usually the temperature depends on the use of the laptop. If several processes of the OS are running in the background, that the CPU performance are high, the temperature rises and the fans start to run. There is nothing unusual about it.

Furthermore, the dust and debris inside the laptop might have a bad influence on the laptop cooling. From time to time, it is advisable to clean the cooling modules.

Last but not least the laptop must be placed free on table to ensure the circulation of air correctly. Don't forget that there is enough free space around the laptop.

Finally, I must say that one of my friends has an A100 and the fans run correctly.
This means that the cooling modules works with maximum performance while playing games or using graphics software.
However fans do not work with maximum performance using only common programs like IE software or office.

    Good bye
