Satellite A350 overheating while game

Hey everybody,

I recently moved to windows 7 64 bit about 2 weeks ago. I've been very busy so I havn't had the time to play games since now im not not only busy more I decided to install call of duty modern warfare 2. It was all going great until just 30 minutes later, the laptop gets really hot and just passed away a few minutes later. Now that I think about it, when I got vista 64 bit installed it has NEVER had this problem. It heats up but does not turn off. never, he died. I looked around google, the US site for toshiba and nobody said that in windows 7, the fan does not work as good?

When I had vista installed, I had the graphics up to high and now even low, it heats upwards and turns off. I switched to windows 7 because I thought it would the computer less lag but then if it turns off as that then it feelsl ike I just spent $100 + on something that I could not do

Anyone else had a problem like this?
any help would be appreciated and I think that if there are many other alternatives, I wouldn't switch back to vista since it would be a pain isntalling it again.

Hello

Before to start a long discussion, clean the cooling of your laptop module:

    Hello

When I play a game on my toshiba laptop (satellite M40X) it gets overheated after about an hour. I wonder if someone also has this problem and if I can do anything other than take EIT to the store?

    Thank you

    > I wonder if someone also has this problem and if I can do something
Don t wonder about this question. It was nothing unusual after 1 or 2 years of use of the laptop.

The problem is that all the devices and parts of portable computers run full implementation and produce a lot of heat all in game.
I think that the cooling modules are blocked and fans do not twist full implementation!
This led to the rise in temperature and to automatically stop down.

The laptop automatically stops because it supports thermal protection to avoid damage!
    It s a feature, not a bug ;)

So what to do? It s simply.
The cooling modules must be cleaned professionally. Usually, the jet of compressed air should just help to clean the fans.
In a case value, you need to contact a mobile technician who could clean up the laptop inside.
Then you must get rid of this evil little but annoying ;)

    Best regards

  • Overheating while game on Satellite C660-11F

Well, when I bought the laptop, she had a any program that somehow reduced performance, or whatever. When I plugged in the charger while playing FIFA, the game went wrong (don't know how to say), and when I plugged it back it went perfectly.

After I changed the windows, while playing, overheating to start the laptop and after 2 or 3 matches seemed to blue screen, or he just blocked...

    > When I plugged in the charger while playing FIFA, the game went wrong (don't know how to say), and when I plugged it back it went perfectly.

In your case, I would try to adjust the settings of the module cooling performance.
Perhaps the power station which is used for the dough is set to battery as parameters, this means that don t cooling modules run with the best performance in order to save the power of the dough.

  • Qosmio X 870 overheating while game

    Hello

I have a qosmio that runs on 95-100 celzius GPU and 85-90 CPU temperatures while 1 day game.
Then I got shut downs overheating about 9 months later.

I'm going to the service and they clean and rebonding it, he has not stopped more but temperatures remained.

20 days later GPU is dead, they replaced, then 10 months later GPU died once again, I heard Burns inside the laptop.

They have developed a new once again, but after that when I play for 2 hours, screen off somethimes at least once, twice at this time.

I took the laptop to the service for the fourth time, a few days later they say that they have not yet diagnosed dysfunction.

But my biggest concern is that the temperatures are high all this time, I read on the forum of A.s.u.s that guy with that kind of temperatures obtained immediately replace, and the new book got 20 degrees low temp.

Laptop is around the age of 20 months, and my question is:
am I still entitled for replacement or they will just patch every few months so that the warranty expires:(parce qu'ils sont de rabotage pour réparer de nouveau.)

I need for video editing, this is why I bought it, and now for the 4th time my bussines is waiting for a week or two.

Sorry for the long post, im hoping for some response or post where I can request a replacement, thank you.

    > I never receive replacement or they will just patch until a few months before the expiration of the warranty because they plan to fix it again.

As far as I know Toshiba authorized service partner can only repair the laptop and you must make sure that the laptop will be fixed to your full satisfaction.

    > I took laptop to serve for the fourth time, a few days later they say that they have not yet diagnosed dysfunction. But my biggest concern is that the temperatures are high all the time.

From my experience, if the laptop will not automatically, closes the temperature level isn't too high. Usually in case of overheating, the laptop must turn off automatically to protect the internal parts of the damage.

  • After 5 min screen goes black on Satellite M60 all in game WOW

    Hello

for two weeks my Satellite M60 presents problems for the game WOW.
After 5 min of the Nootbook screen dark past, or permanent display, and nothing will.

Before a year I push my Ram from 1 up to 2 GB.
Is there someone who can help you?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

Sounds like a RAM or overheating problem.
Maybe the modules to affect the internal temperature higher RAM and functionality.
This can lead to problems while game.

I think you should first check if cooling modules a free from dust and debris.
Dust can be removed using a jet of compressed air.

The next step should be an update of the display driver.
Check if there is some more recent versions. If yes-> updated!

    Good luck

    Hello Thomas

It is not easy to say why this happens exactly. To be honest, your display doesn t offer relevant information.
What operating system do you use?
Do you use Toshiba drivers only?
Have you can be installed a third party graphics driver?
    What games do you play?
Mobile is hot enough before stops?

Please explain this a little more detail.

  • Problems with the reader of CD/DVD on the Satellite A350-12j

    Hello

I just bought my laptop, Toshiba Satellite A350-12j, two weeks ago and am generally happy with it, but I can't seem to read correctly the data DVD.

When I try to play a DVD that I burned on my data desktop PC, the laptop starts to read, but takes very, very long time.
When I try to copy the data on the DVD of my laptop, it takes forever (I tried once for 45 minutes and then abandoned) and after a while it starts to claim it can read most of the files on the DVD.
It is not the data on the disks which raises problems, cause when I transfer those my desktop to my laptop computer on a Flash DRIVE instead of a DVD, files are copied immediately without problem.

At first I thought it could be due to the DVDs themselves (I use TDK DVD + ROM), or perhaps that Vista was the culprit, but I tried the same exact discs on my friends laptop Medion also running Vista and it is having no problem whatsoever.

Anyone have any ideas what could be the cause, or better yet, which could solve it?

    Thanks in advance!

    Eva

    > When I try to play a DVD that I burned on my data desktop PC, the laptop starts to read, but takes very, very long time.

Hmm I think this could be a problem of DVD not entirely compatible.
My laptop drive s couldn t read or write DVDs from different manufacturers.
I tested a lot of disks and now I m using TDK DVD-R.

But it of always different. Maybe your drive would not support this disc correctly, but another disk would be better supported

I think you should test it simply. There are many manufacturers different drive don t give up buddy

  • Can satellite A350 - I change the size of the partition?

    Hello

When I bought my Satellite A350 I noticed that she was divided into 2 discs, 1 C: drive called Vista who had 149GB and the other player called E: data which has 147 GB with 141 GB of free space that contains a folder named HDDRecovery giving a total of about 300 GB.

What I would like to make which I do not know if it is possible, unless I send it away is the following: unpartition 2 readers is 1 disk, partition it then again in 2 discs but this time Vista C: drive to have 250GB while the other drive E: data with the recovery of 50 GB. I have the recovery disks as well. Do you know if it is possible to do what I want without having to send in the manufacture? And if so, how?

I also run Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1.

    See you soon

    Hello

Hmmm. You can try to reduce the second partition in disk management.

You can find it in the control panel. You will find the link to the System Maintenance and then click Administrative Tools to open the Administrative Tools folder. Click computer management to open the computer management window. You'll find disk management.

As I said above, you could try to shrink, first of all, the second partition, and then could attempt to add the free space on the first partition. But to be honest, I doubt that this would be possible because the free space would be located behind the second partition and you can't add it to the first partition C.

Anyway, check it and play around maybe it will be possible
But note; You should have the recovery disk created because there is always a small risk that you would confuse the hard drive.

  • Satellite A350 - chain owner of material utility

Toshiba offers a clever native freeware for its Satellite A350 material utility called series. Several BIOS settings can be changed / set here without going too much into the good BIOS!).

One of these settings is the abilty to set the password for the owner that is made after a power down. This ID password requested as soon as the laptop is turned on. When you use this parameter I save my password while typing twice as requested. Below, there is an open space that says onwer chain and a message pointing to what it is. That's what I don't understand.
What is chain owner, what to do and I can change it and where I'm supposed to see? Usually, there is here a few scrambled characters who continue to change and what I'm typing it never stays.

Can someone explain to me anything on the channel owner?

    Hello

As I remember, the owner string is meant to give you a way to assert some kind of message to come up with the BIOS password prompt.

Suppose for example that the unit is owned by a company, this company may wish to define a message type to the person of unlocking the device.
If the device is stolen, this message can be used to provide information about who it belongs to, so it can be retrieved / returned.
Or it could be some sort of legal message that say that the use of this device is allowed only by authorized personnel.

So, it's probably the idea behind this setting.
Now it's your imagination to make use :)

    See you soon

  • Does not begin with satellite A350 - accident or failure of the motherboard BIOS?

Hello, first of all, sorry for my English :).

I have the Toshiba Satellite A350-13 model has and very big trouble with it: when I turn it on by the power button, power light begins to shine, I can hear the voice of the fan for a second - then it stops and I noticed that HARD drive starts to work - I can hear and see by flashing the lamp next to the lamp stack CD player also works, but nothing else happens. There is nothing on the monitor. It seems that the bios is not starting. Let me explain what I do when it all started. My computer worked correctly, but there was a small mess on my HARD drive, then I got the CD recovery system, I realized after buying computer. Everything was ok, the system is working properly, so I started to install my software. I didn't not uninstall this program installed at the factory for system optimization that is (I do not remember his name now, but I mean this program that shows you update for your drivers - I remember that there are updates for the recognition of faces, videos etc..) I installed all the updates that this program presents, including the update of the BIOS. When I've done with the installation of these updates, I noticed that my keyboard does not work - with any button.

By the time windows has ended it is updated, so I went to "Relight system" in the start menu of windows of the mouse. Then the closed system itself, I saw that windows updates itself as there are always after downloading the updates, but when all this happened at the end and computer must turn off and turn back on, I saw white screen. Computer has not restarted while I was expecting a few minutes. I turned off the computer by holding down the button market / stop and play again. Then, he didn't get up and it's like that for now. What will happen? Is - it caused by the BIOS update I did? Or - is it possible that this motherboard fell down? I think this is connected with the bios, indeed with his absence :) But when I switch on the computer, the keyboard still does not - I can see it, because the green light should appear on the CAPS LOCK button when I hit him if there is a power, even if the bios does not work. Am I wrong? Is there any possible to return BIOS configuration of fabric? I'm quite confused, because I have that for two months - it is like new. I'm excluding the dysfunction of the monitor.

I hope any of you had a problem like this and there is a possible solution for it. My computer is always guaranteed.

    > My computer is always guaranteed.
That of the point! Please contact nearest Toshiba authorized maintainer and leave check your laptop.
There is serious hardware problem, and I don't think you can do something.

  • Upgrade memory on the Satellite A350-10I

    I have a Toshiba satellite A350 10I. I want to increase the RAM 2x2gb ddr2 800 MHz memory.

Can be changed with ddr3? The motherboard will support?

This kind of upgrade can be. RAM upgrade must be done with 100% compatible modules. Faster RAM will not help at all. It depends on the motherboard THAT FSB accelerated. If you use the memory modules as soon as they be pointing down.

How do you upgrade the drive HARD and fast use of SSDS?
