  I don't have a US mobile phone model and can't answer your second question, but I know with certainty that Win7 works well on the Satellite A500.
  Two months ago, I had the Satellite A500 friends home. Initially, it was pre-installed with Vista.
  I did two experiments to see how it works with Win7. First I updated it with the Toshiba upgrade kit and everything was OK.
  With the new installation of the OS, everything was OK also.

  Before Win7 installation please check Toshiba support page to make sure what version is fully supported. Here in Europe only Win7 64 bit is completely compatible.

  Can someone tell me if the built-in on my Satellite A505-S6973 keyboard has a backlight.

  On the Toshiba U.S. support page I checked the specification for laptop computer and, of course, your laptop doesn t have this backlit keyboard.
  Just FYI: all illuminated keyboard have FN + Z option to turn on/off illumination.

  This option, when the backlit keyboard is in the book is also available in Toshiba HWSetup tool.

  I would like to know if it is possible to play games on my toshiba satellie A505-S6973. A colleague of mine has a dell studio xps and it can that disgusted me because if he can do it why not can I and we all know toshiba is better.

  I played COD2 and COD4 on the laptop models much older, so I think you can try to play the two of them on your laptop.

  Maybe you shouldn't play newer games, but I think that your Toshiba must manage with games that have maybe one or two years.

• Satellite A505-S6973 - no sound from my laptop speakers

  I have an A505-S6973 and today I lost volume on my speakers. When I took my headphones, I hear, but without the headset is plugged in, I have no sound from my laptop speakers.

• Satellite A505-S6973 is overheating and the fan runs often

  Goodday everyone,

  I seem to have some difficulties with my service power standby, when I restart my system I get an error message "Toshiba Power Saver Service impossible To Start ', I looked for answers, but the solutions I've read were pc who performed the upgrade to Win7.

  I apologize for this but I have a question about my account record.

  I posted a question earlier where whenever I press the mute buttons and eco utility I get no answer (just a beep the button mute).

  I pressed the fn man icon and button support and I see it says I must register the button but I have no idea where I have to browse to find the application to fix to save it.

  I hope someone can help me, I searched through the forums and the last time I posted the question to the answer that I had did not work.

  In General, the multimedia keys on Toshiba are controlled by VAP (value added package).

  You mean the disc is located inside the laptop and you can't find or remove it?

  I have a Satellite A505 which uses a Realtek RTL8191SE wireless network card. Recently, I had connectivity problems with my home router. This configuration used to work perfectly, but recently, I had a problem where I won't be able to connect to my router wireless access point. Reset the adapter does not solve the problem, or don't restart.

  I found that my router reboot solves the problem, I am able to login after the reboot of the router. I have not had this problem on any of the other devices or laptops in my house and never had this problem until last month. I tried to do a factory reset on my router in order to ensure that some recent changes in our setup of the router were not to blame, but the problem persists even with a clean slate.

  I ask this question because I noticed that under Win7 driver for this wireless network card is offered as optional update. Maybe this update is installed, and now you have this problem.

  I had audio problems with this laptop since I bought it, first with the Crackle of the sounds, then I did the update of the bios that seemed to help, but now there are all sorts of problems with his awkward with Windows Media Player. There is no audio problem with netflix audio, streaming, on demand, etc. I will continue to look and see if I forget something, but I have yet to find solutions.

  Looks like the audio be normalized.

  Disable the standardization in Media Player.
  You can also disable the improvements in the sound control panel.

  I installed windows 7 ultimate on my toshiba Satellite A505 s6970 and I downloaded all the drivers from http://www.csd.toshiba.com/ and I installed all.

  When I open the Device Manager, 3 devices are not installed (Base-2 system device / / 1-Unknown device).
  Then I installed toshiba service station (Windows Vista / 7 32-64 bit because my windows is 64) it will search for and automatically download all necessary devices, but it does not work on windows 7, it worked perfectly in windows vista.

  Also the eco utility does not work, and the media touch buttons work just fine, but without giving that voice tone.

  I didn't install Windows 7 on my Satellite A500 again but I've done a clean install of too. The only difference is that it is Vista not Windows 7.

  I mean, it's the same as Akuma. You will find on the site of Toshiba Eco Utility. I even checked the Toshiba page we and I can't find the Eco utility. It s is only available for Vista at the moment but you should try it because most of the drivers are also works on Windows 7. It s worth a try!

  If the upgrade wizard shows that these versions are not compatible with Windows 7 you should remove. An upgrade to Windows 7 n t would be possible otherwise.
