Acer M3985 memory upgrade/replacement

Hello everyone, I plan to upgrade my memory (RAM) but I'm not that familiar with what memory (s) is compatible with my motherboard which is the standard ACER IPIMB-AR the current (RAM) memory that I have is Adata 4 GB 2RX8 PC3-10600U-999. I'm using 2 x 4 GB if dual channel. 1333 Mhz is compatible? How about 1600 Mhz? or did I miss something that deserves more away?

Any thoughts? Srecommendation?

Hi guys, my acer M3985 just food fried last week I need your advice what power supply should I choose I do not know if a high quality such as corsair or other brands would fit... any ideas what should I do?

Your proposed replacement seems fine to me (assuming that it meets the requirements of power as noted finlux - more power = less stress). Your current power be 300W or 500W according to specification. The image of newegg shows the power supply upside. In Acer, there the fan down and the outlet to the left. Switch POWER supply power switch is the insulator and would normally be left at any time. PC normal power would be the front switch as you do now. It should be a straight replacement.

I want to replace my touchpad upgrade memory and replace the battery. Any help and the source where to get parts will be appreciated.

Exchange upgrade and RAM battery is not so complicated.

According to specification for laptop, you can be upgraded up to 2 GB of RAM and you can use 2 x 1 GB RAM modules. Compatible is 1024Mo PC2700 (PA3313U-2M1G). Buy two of them and RAM update is made.
At the bottom in the Middle, you can see the cover of memory (fixed with a screw). Remove it and you will have access to the RAM slot. I don't know if there's a slot only. If so, I imagine that the other is placed under the keyboard.

While your computer that you can use following batteries:
    PA3399U-1BAS (6 cells).
    PA3399U-1BRS (6 cells).
    PA3400U-1BAS (12cell),
    PA3400U-1BRS (12cell).
How to remove and insert the batteries is described in the user manuals.

Replacement of the touchpad is a bit complicated. To do this you must disassemble the laptop everything. I don't know if it's the best idea.

  • Veriton M498G memory upgrade problem

I'm trying to age 5 years Veriton M498G memory upgrade my son of 4 GB to 12 GB now when I upgaded to Windows 7 64 bit.

The original 2 GB key still works fine and the 2 GB key that I added back a bit works very well too (4 GB total).

But when I remove all the sticks and put in a new 4 GB stick the computer crashes in the POST just after the BIO 1024Mo of RAM (!). Looks like that the BIOS does not like the 4 GB stick! Compensation of the BIOS did not help.

Back original memory makes the computer works perfectly.

I am well aware of the memory manufacturer/type compatibility issues.

I tried 4 different memory of 4 GB sticks from 2 different sources with no luck.

    My questions are:

    1. the Veriton M498G motherboard or BIOS has any limitation on the size of the memory card?

2 I missed a setup or configuration to let the BIOS see the 4 GB memery stick?

    3. a more recent BIOS help? (the computer uses the original BIOS from 2011)

    4. is there a solution runs the endless trial and error of purchase and return of USB keys?

    The system is:

  • HP Pavilion G6 memory upgrade problems

How to remove the cover on the memory on hp Pavilion g6 to add memory?  the screws do not seem to want to go out completely, and I hesitate to raise too hard for fear of breaking the plastic.

    Hello:

Looks like the G7 has the same problem.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/hardware-upgrades-replacements/how-to-remove-cover-over-RAM-compartment-on-a-Pavillion-G7/TD-p/1246039

Appears to just carefully lift by finding where the tabs are.

Read your owner's manual. Chapter 4, page 44 shows how to remove the cover. It seems to be in the same way as in the G7 countries.

  • Dell PowerEdge T610 (memory upgrade)

I bought Dell 16 GB certified replacement Memory Module for select Dell - 2Rx4 1333 MHz RDIMMS LV systems

Currently, I have 8 GB of RAM (1 GB on every slot machines). After I installed this new memory and restart the server, it shows invalid memory configuration. So, I changed the memory setting in BIOS 'Advanced ECC' to 'optimize memory '. But it detects more than my current speed of the memory is 8 GB. Is there something wrong with the configuration of the memory? I tried to re - establish the new RAM.

    Help, please. Thank you.

    Hello.

Your memory configuration is not valid because the channel memory CH0, is not balanced with channels CH1 & CH2. Refer to the schematic illustration below:

In order to balance the memory on these channels, we should have memory DIMM in:

A1, A2 & A3 = B1, B2 & B3 in addition also A4, A5 & A6 is B4, B5 & B6. That's why CH0, CH1 & CH2 memory modules must be identical for the performance and optimal memory configuration. Depending on the upgrade amount of memory you are looking for, you can buy 1 more 16 GB DIMMS and then fill in slots A1 B1 & offer a total capacity of 32 GB. This will provide more flexibility for future memory upgrade

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I can add more technical info on request.

Recently saved this PC of my friend tries to throw it. Everything is fine with the PC. It works perfectly and there is no material visible failure wihtin the PC either. He just bought a new and had no need for this one.

Before turn me this into a House mutli-purpose server, I decided to upgrade the RAM.

So I did some research and found this page: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01883661

DDR3 240-pin DIMM 1333 MHz non - ECC, Max 4 GB per DIMM slot, Total Max 16 GB module.

I went and bought RAM Corsair. Link to the product: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/cmv4gx3m1a1333c9

I decided to get 2x4gb and upgrade later if I felt the need.

I was happy to install in the PC. one in DIMM 1 slot and the other in the DIMM 2 slot.

    BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!

I thought that maybe the slots are wrong, maybe they have to odd numbers then numbers.

So I changed the RAM of DIMM 2 DIMM 3.

    Once again, the annoying ringtone.

I even tried leaving just the 4 GB DIMM 1 and tried to start the PC, but nothing helped.

I tried a lot of different combinations with the end result is 5 annoying beeps.

After that I thought that maybe, just maybe, an update of the BIOS can change things.

So I installed Windows 7 (I can't stand Windows. Arch Linux FTW) and performing a BIOS update.

I then installed the new RAM again. Yes... frickin 5 beeps AGAIN.

I am extremely disappointed at this point. I spent already $ 70 on a computer with free access.

I read the forums here, but I couldn't find a thread with a solution for me.

Is there anyone on this forum who could lend me a helping hand?

Any information would be gladly appreciated.

PS Please report any stupid error, I did. Stick and stones could not curb my bones.

  • Max Memory Upgrade for Pavilion a810y

How can I find the AMT of max memory I can put in my Pavilion a810y?  It of sites that say 4 GB and other telling that to 2 GB.  Is the real answer please stand up.

    Hello:

Your PC would have the Intel 915 chipset.

If the motherboard has no memory, each with 1 GB of memory, 2 slots then you're at the max.

Locations of Intel 915 chipset memory cannot manage more than 1 GB of memory.

The crucial memory upgrade link I posted said your PC had 4 locations of memory, so that the info is wrong.

If you upgrade to W7, I recommend you only go with the 32-bit version on your PC.

A 64-bit system requires more disk space and memory to run as a 32-bit system doesn't work - not double, but, with only 2 GB of memory, a 32 bit OS will perform a little better that will be a 64 bit OS, but who is to you.

  • HP CQ61-313US posible memory upgrade configurations?

I have this laptop: HP CQ61-313US (with Windows7 64 bit) (card mother AMD = SKU: 577064-001)

    Origin this model laptop has 3 GB (1 GB x 1 + 2 x 1 GB) memory DDR2 800 MHz PC2 6400 S.

Now, I would like to upgrade memory a little bit, and according to the specifications (manual booklet to print and pdf) it is (recommended?, recommended?, applicable only?)  configurations of memory upgrade - here's the Manual:

    2 SODIMM slots

    Customer-accessible/extendable

    PC2-6400, 800 MHz, DDR2

    Supports dual-channel memory

Supports up to 8 GB of RAM, in the following configurations:

    8192 MB (4096 × 2)

    4096 MB (2048 × 2)

    3072 MB (2 048 × 1 + 1024 × 1)

    2048 MB (2 048 × 1).

    2048 MB (1024 × 2)

    1024 MB (1024 × 1).

As you can see only 6 GB isn't on the list, which is incomprehensible to me, particularly because you can combine 1 GB x 1 + 2 GB x 1 to get 3 GB, but not 2 x 1 + 4 x 1 for 6 GB GB GB as I would like.

So basically my question should be: is it possible to install 6 GB memory 2 GB x 1 + 4 GB x 1 on this motherboard despite the fact that it is not mentioned in the manual configuration?

    If YES, then what configuration would be better: 6 GB (2 GB x 1 + 4 x 1 GB) or 4 GB (2 GB x 2)?

    You are the very welcome.

I agree entirely with you suggestion.
