  First of all, you can change between the special function key mode (without pressing the FN key) or normal (standard) mode (Fn hold first of all use the standard functions of F1 - F12).

  I have a Satellite A135-S4527. But when I got this computer it was without a recovery disk / disk to reinstall Vista and the Vista operating system that was installed was a bloated mess - it has been widely used by a person of lesser intelligence.   -Laptop computer sometimes comes out no mode 'sleep'

  What can I do on the brightness keys? The monitor is sometimes a bit too bright to be comfortable to use. Yet, I'll have a chance to make those keys actually do something.

  As far as I know this feature is controlled by Backlight.exe and you can find it in
  Program Files\Toshiba\TBS\Backlight.exe

  It is usually part of the VAP (value added package) to reinstall this package should help you get it working again.
