Satellite C660 - screen problem

When my wife got off the plane a luggage handler helped pushing his mother in wheelchair and dragging one of the bags behind him allowing my wife to take care of the rest of the luggage. Unfortunately, the laptop that sat on that bag decided that he didn't like the ride, he jumped the bag and tried to get into the terminal under its own power from the battery.

There is no visible damage to the laptop as it was inside the bag and no crack or anything on the screen. When turn on the laptop, the screen may remain empty, flicker or it shows the log on and office but instead of white to white, it displays a purple rose, only showing not ecru is affected. Other colors appear correctly although they look as if the display is set to 256 colors or the use of the wrong driver.

I plugged an external monitor to it and that works very well with the color. If the computer laptop screen flickers a light tap at the back of it he still will get, but the color is not corrected. I think it may be just a loose connection or wire cut between the screen and the motherboard but don't know if the color change would be caused by the present.

Satellite C660 (PSC1LA-00J001) looks brand new, but I don't think it would be useful to take to get fixed.

Any ideas on what could be the problem?

It took me 2 1/2 hours to post this same exact message because somewhere in there is profanity or inappropriate language. :(

Hello

On this virtual path, it is not possible to say with certainty what the problem is here. Your laptop must be disassembled and all should be checked. Graphics card seems to be OK, so it must be a problem with connectors, cable or with the screen itself.

Why not? Same display exchange is not so problematic. Googling around you will find many online stores where you can order the new display, if necessary. Even on eBay you can get it at reasonable price.

If you do not have experience with this kind of things I recommend you contact the closest to the Toshiba service provider or some independent IT service and ask for help. Check what options are available and how much you have to pay for the repair.

  • Strange lines on Satellite C660 screen

    Hello

I dropped my laptop Toshiba Satellite C660 and now half of the screen shows lines everywhere in different colors. My question is, if I replace the screen with a new one it will solve the problem. I found a screen that I think will fit.

I'm really empty now, but I will need to replace the screen or buy a new laptop.

    Help, please.

    Thank you very much.

I m sure that the display is faulty, but if possible, you can connect the external display or TV to your machine and check if the desktop computer will display correctly on an external device. If so, it is certainly defective screen.

Where this is a problem on an external device too the reason may be the graphics card feature.

Anyway, after reading your ad I m also thinking that view must be exchanged and I also think that this will solve your problem.

  • Satellite C660 - keyboard problem

I have a problem with the keyboard on my Satellite c660 laptop, reference number: PSC1LE.
The best way I can describe it is like a stuttering problem because it comes and go (very well for a few hours, then not for a short period).

The problem is that, for reasons unknown to me, I continue to experience a problem where the A, N and Enter keys do not work when you press. Sometimes pressing the key several times (they they are not frozen) is simply the letter out, but I can not continue to press the time key to five or six to get a letter. Just to mention, I've not spilled anything on the keyboard.

I did full virus and spyware scans but have found no problem.
I have done tonight all the updates of windows available to me, but it does not appear to have done the trick.

After the restart that follows the device updates all worked them for about 15 minutes, so that the same three keys stopped working again. On this occasion, it lasted only a few minutes, and now I'm writing this with the same keyboard.

Note: I do not use the original keyboard. I changed the jury due to minor property damage, but he did private.
However, this was done most of the year there and worked flawlessly since installation, until this new edition took place in recent weeks.

If anyone has new recommendations or suggestions as to what can be the cause or solutions and then share it please.

I think you'd understand that nobody is able to say why your keyboard malfunctioned.
Only if the hardware of the laptop has been scanned/verified, it would be possible to say what's wrong here
But as General, there is a good workaround solution to diagnose the problem.

You could connect the external USB keyboard to the laptop and could check if the same problems with the mentioned buttons will occur.

In case the external USB keyboard would work correctly, I think that your internal keyboard is the troublemaker in such a case, you will need to replace the keyboard once more.

  • Satellite C660 - touchpad problems

    Hello

I have problems with the touchpad on my Satellite C660. I have only had it for about 2 & 1/2 months, and the problem seems to be worse.

I tried to check for drivers, changing the settings of the touchpad, but nothing helped.
The main problem is that when you move your finger on the pad, the cursor will not move, however it also scrolls the page more or less important size.

I'm quite frustrated because it is essentially a new machine.

Everyone has ideas, or should I try to get replaced by a new one.

    Thank you

    James

Looks like you're triggering gestures. For example, if you press the right side of the touchpad, it will allow the scroll bar.

You can disable these features in the advanced Touchpad settings.

    Computer is Toshiba Satellite C660-1JH.

    Hello

Try removing the USB ports and hubs from Device Manager.
Restart the device and wait Windows OS has reinstalled all USB controllers once more.

If this is insufficient, the chipset driver update because driver chipset controls the USB controller.

  • Re: Satellite C660 screen brightness adjustment does not work

    Hello

Its been 10 days since I brought my Satellite C660 - series laptop.

Fn + F6 or Fn + F7 keys for brightness control do not work. I see no change in brightness. There is no information or indication of the setting shown on the display.

Can anyone suggest an alternative to set the brightness of the screen?

Other keys FN + Fx work correctly?
You can change the display brightness by using the power management option?

I have a Satellite R830, I haven't used the laptop a lot since the purchase 2 years ago but I have several white spots on the monitor (8 + areas). I suspect that these may be hot spots of pixel, but I've tried all kinds of software and even slight pressure repair but nothing seems to work.

Someone at - it Advisor on methods to try to resolve this problem or am I resolved to try to get this repaired?

    Thank you

    Hello

    You can not fix it
In this case the display must be replaced.
But I guess that the guarantee is no longer valid, so you pay for the replacement.
I think that it is not worth.

  • Satellite C650 - screen problem

    Greetings!

I have a laptop Toshiba C650. And I have a problem. Today, I went to the service because I had a problem with LCD display. But when today arriwal, I have a few problems. When I turn on the screen always include gel

    Please help me!

    Sorry my bad English.

    > When I turn on the screen always include gel
    What does this mean exactly?
    The screen is dark?

I think that if the laptop has been checked and repaired by a technician for laptop and if you have still some problems with the material (display) then you should contact the ASP even once more and should clarify this issue
Maybe the technician has made some mistakes while fixing this problem

    It is my opinion...

  • Satellite C660-26R - problems with the laptop performance

    Hello

I bought a C660-26R for Christmas, and since I had some real problems, watch YouTube videos and download things such as itunes or soundcloud. I have a good connection speed but I can't watch a video over a few seconds and let the kids play games on miniclip for example will not work.

I downloaded the latest version of adobe flash player, windows updates are up to date and my internet security is very good. But I don't know why, I've met so many problems. It takes forever to pay for purchases online as well.

If anyone can give me any advice or solutions, it would be a real and simple, help the best.
    all the best

On this virtual path, it is not possible to say what the problem is here and give some concrete tips what you can do about it.
I would like to have your laptop in front of me, to see what is happening exactly and how your laptop reacts with different commands. In my opinion, it is just a means to understand all your problems.

Please don t get me wrong, but I would highly recommend you to find someone who has a very good PC know-how and ask for help.

  • P840T abandoned satellite - touch screen problem

Laptop fell to about 300mm (1 ft)
Does anyone have an idea how do I turn off the touch screen on a P840T?
A friend brought this hoping me that I might be able to do something with it, but it starts in the preliminary login screen and if you press a key, the image just jogging, up and down and sometimes even allows you to get to the login screen, but you can't actually enter something.

I think if I can disable the touchscreen, we might be able to turn it on.

    Hello

Without maintenance manuals, it can be quite risky and, at least, what you want to do with it. What you want to repair, trouble or even trade?
In my view, this question is for professionals and my advice is to talk with the nearest Toshiba service provider.

  • Satellite C660 - close problem

I have 2 questions here that can be linked.

    1. my laptop will not close but will sleep / hibernate etc. To remedy this, I have to perform a system restore. It will then stop completely, but then the problem reappears after about 3 separate connections.

    2. upgrade to Windows 7 service pack 1 is always fails due to an error code that indicates there is a problem with PIECES. I followed all the recommendations of MS to fix this, but it does not work.

I did all the cleaning with anti virus and disk cleaning etc I can.

    All advice welcome thanks.

    What about new OS install
Due to the fact that SP1 cannot be installed, I recommend doing this because I think that your system is doomed and this may affect the close option

I think that its definitely worth a try.

  • Satellite C660-268 does not start, no start screen

My laptop Toshiba Satellite C660-268 was installing updates, then it froze for half an hour, I decided to force quit by pressing the power button.

I tried power, portable could not wake up, I can hear the fan but screen is not black, no post/splash screen (Bios screen), turn on the led goes for a few seconds and then turn off. I tried to press the important function, but nothing could make my laptop boot or stay on. Please,

I need your help in order to remake my boot laptop

I think that some of the material died during update installation.
From my point of few, it was simply bad luck that this error occurred during the update of the system.

There is only one real solution: the troublemaker should be found and replaced.

Theoretically, this issue can result from memory problems, but also the failure of the motherboard. The RAM modules are not very expensive and where the RAM is faulty, the fix is not a big problem.

But in case of malfunction of the motherboard, the laptop repair could be a very costly affair.

What could be the next step?
I think if you have no experience of mainframe, you should seek some professional help and assistance.
