  I cannot conclude that this original toshiba video driver cannot be installed on a toshiba...

  Actually I'm under standard with vga display 1152 x 864 32 bit colors with slow rendering

  This information indicates that you have an Intel graphics card, so please don t try to install an ATI driver. You don t have an ATI graphics card!

  If you have uninstalled ATI graphic driver restart your PC and install the Intel graphics driver. If this is not possible, go to Device Manager > right click on the graphics card > update driver
  Then select the driver, and the driver will be installed.

  By the way: it might be better to use the disk recovery or HARD drive recovery. It takes a few minutes and then you have a new installation of Windows with all the drivers and tools but save your data first because the HARD drive will be erased.

  Did you get the new driver from the web site of Toshiba or others.

  The graphics card in your laptop is not necessarily compatible with the latest drivers from the manufacturer, simply because it is specially designed for your laptop. Usually only the drivers supplied by Toshiba works correctly.

Material cooling in laptops is very problematic and high temperature can cause overheating or a material damage. All hardware components are placed on a small square.   Before you try to install a new display driver, you must remove any old version in Add/Remove programs. Then, restart the laptop and use CCleaner to clean the system. Restart again and then install the new version.

  You have the same problem with the factory settings? In the worst case, you must reinstall Windows using Toshiba recovery disc.
