Satellite L300-1F8 - Win 7 does not start

I bought my L300 Satellite a few days ago.
I installed the ot Windows 7 RC version. This drug was OK until yesterday.

When I started it, he showed the legend of Toshiba and at the moment he is supoused start loading the operating system it starts to beep.

I tried to Flash the BIOS with the latest version released.
After I did this everithing was normal once again, but today when I started it, the same problem apeared again.

Can someone help me?
Is this really a problem with the operating system, or is this a hardware problem?

Hello

> When I started it, he showed the legend of Toshiba and at the moment he is supoused start loading the operating system it starts to beep. I tried to Flash the BIOS with the latest version released.

The whole story is really strange to me.
How do update you the BIOS if you were not able to start the operating system?

Usually the BIOS can be updated only when running Windows operating system.

You ask if this could be a problem software or hardware; to be honest I m not quote sure why the laptop beeps but I think you should test this new with OS preinstalled Toshiba. Take the recovery disc (that you created if all goes well before install you Win 7) and installed the Vista again to check if this issue would be displayed.

In addition, the Win 7 is still a beta version, which means that there is still a lot of bugs that could affect the functionality of the laptop.

  • Satellite L505 - 10 M - fan does not start

    I have a problem with my Satellite L505 - 10 M.

Suddenly the fan does not start over and because of this, the laptop get quickly overheated and stops. I installed Windows 7 top me, quite some time ago, and this time it was 2 weeks ago while it just happened this evening. I have not installed anything new and nor I did something special with him, he just does not start fan more.

I checked this forum, cannot find anything either, searched and could not find any problems with Linux and the fan, but not Windows (it does not start at the start of the bios either).

If anyone has a thought, a similar experience or a solution, it would be really useful

    Greetings,
    JanPieterz

    Hey Buddy,

You have installed Windows 7 Microsoft disc or Toshiba Recovery disk?

Well, if the fan doesn't start anymore, you can t a lot and I think that the fan needs to be replaced.
What you can do is load default settings in the BIOS (press F9 key in the configuration of the BIOS) and save settings. Also clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air, maybe the fan will be blocked by the dust.

If he doesn t it work s time to contact a technician for laptop. If your laptop is under warranty, the repair will be free. :)

  • HP envy Phoenix: win 7 does not start with connected external hard drive

I have a desktop HP Envy Phoenix with i7 chip and an SSD for the OS.  If I connect via USB external drive of 3 TB WD for the backup of the system does not start while it is attached.  The pc seems to be trying to boot from the outside, can't find the OS and does not start.  It will start fine with small external drives connected.  It is the size of the disk? Is there a way to fix this?

    Hello

The WD drives seem to pose problems of my potential.  I have used other brands such as Seagate and Hitachi without running into problems with external USB drives causing the system to boot.  Maybe it's the USB adapter that I use which does not cause starting problems.

    @tpetras

I used the adapter HP USB 3, which uses drivers NEC or TI and has never had a problem starting via a USB external (non - WD) readers.

  • Win 7 does not start after the creation of new partition for fileswaping.

    Hello!

As the header says, Windows 7 does not start. Made a partition to swap files between OS X and Windows 7.

I saw in a thread that it could be repaired using fdisk. I'm really new to OS X, so I did not really

know what to do. Writing the result of the controls, I found in the thread.

I know now there is a warning to the partition AFTER installing Windows.

Would really appreciate if everyone took some time telling me what to do!

  • Fan of Satellite U500 - 11 c sometimes does not start running Win 7 64 bit

    Hello

I have two Toshiba Satellite U500 - 11 c on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Sometimes, after a new start of Windows, the fans start and just run a few seconds sometimes. When this occurs, the CPU temperature gets very hot (do not know exactly how much). I found a way to return to a behavious normal just unplug the power cable and reconnect it just a second or two after.

Two laptop computers have the latest Bios and drivers of Toshiba. Somehow, it's the same behavious as under Linux.

With these experiences, I just thought that Toshiba laptop are not well properly handle ACPI Fans and tempartures. Is it really inevitable?

I hope that this feedback can help...

    Hi mate

Cooling modules are controlled by the fan which is stored in the BIOS table.
Fan table contains details and information when and how fast a fans should run.

Besides computers laptop Toshiba supports protection against overheating. This protection monitors the temperature, and if the temperature is too high, the laptop turns off automatically.

If the laptop does not turn off automatically then I suppose that the temperature is not too high

So last night, I was using my Toshiba Satellite laptop.
I know a lot of details because I'm not very good with laptops. Here is where the problems start.

So after I finished I stopped him.
The next morning I wake up, he would not start windows.
I am currently using windows 7. Anyway, he tells me to stop. I start again, and then it gives me only 2 options: Startup Repair or run windows normally.
When I try run windows normally it says "starting windows", but it never starts.

Then when I try the startup repair it will attempt to repair and I do for 8 hours and no luck. It is said a recent move of hardware or software can have him cause. But I got nothing except the charger is connected.

However, you can try to recover the laptop using the recovery of HARD drive option. But it will not work, if you didn t format the HARD drive and didn't delete the partition of HARD drive recovery.

So try to power the device, press F8, choose repair my computer, then choose recovery Toshiba.
Notes; This reformatted the system partition currently which means that you lose the files on the C partition.

    Hello together,

I have a problem with my Satellite L300-22R model PSLB8E-0QL028GR (Ubuntu 8.10) and the fan control. At first the fan does not work. After a few minutes, the fan operates at 100% until the laptop is turned off. I think it's a problem with acpi.

The BIOSis: InsydeH20, worm. 1.60. There is not a more recent.

    Thank you for your support.

Is this laptop model is not supported for Linux and everything you find on the Toshiba download page (updates to the BIOS) is for the use of Windows XP Home/Vista edition only. :(

  • Satellite A500 - 1C0 - Bluetooth monitor does not start

    Hello
I noticed that a new Bluetooth monitor was released for my Satellite A500 - 1 c 0 and so I tried to use it.

First, I downloaded the Bluetooth stack and Bluetooth screen and install it. As soon as I restarted my computer loaded Windows system default Bluetooth service. I tried to manually start the monitor installed, so I tried a Bluetooth Monitor and it came, but nothing happened. Ultimately the only way to get the old dos application had to use system restore. When I restored it to the previous system I just installed Bluetooth Monitor without installing Bluetooth Stack, and there it is again. I only use Windows Bluetooth utility.

How can I disable the utility and use Bluetooth Monitor from Toshiba or I can do it by default? It does not even start.

    Thank you

Someone at - it an idea?

    Greetings,

    Hello

And have you connected an external USB device as says the error message? If Yes, remove all USB devices and try to restart your laptop.

If you can t start in safe mode, your operating system is confusing upward and the only option to get rid of it is to reinstall Windows.

You use the preinstalled version of Windows 7 in Toshiba? If yes go to the start menu Windows by pressing the F8 button where you can select the safe mode, etc. and choose Advanced repair my computer option. Then select Toshiba HDD recovery and factory settings are restored. Also see this article on HARD drive recovery:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

If disk HARD recovery doesn't work, you need an original Toshiba recovery disc. If you didn t create this drive just order a new one here:

  • Satellite S50-B-12Z - recovery does not start

    Hi guys.

    I have Toshiba Satellite S50-B-12Z
    I can't start the recovery.

When I press the 0 key starting system, information about recovery happens.
I answer YES to the question if I want to continue the recovery and after this system appears as normal takes just a bit longer.

What will happen? I remember I managed to enter the recovery menu once but can't remember how.

I taught maybe I deleted the partition by mistake, but partition magic shows he's still there (not used status).

Any ideas why menu recovery will not come to the top?

Hold F12 for power up to display the start menu.

If "HDD Recovery" is not found, or its load fails, this means that the recovery partition has a problem.

You can order on the site of Toshiba recovery disks.
