  I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a service manual / engineers Guide to a Satellite L30? I have a hinge broken on my laptop and Toshiba have been very useful in helping me find spare parts - via "Topaz". They also have a bargain at only £8.00 + postage for a pair of them. However, when I asked questions on ' how to ride them? the two have become rather "not useful"!

  And I really do not feel like paying PC World £219.00 what they cited to adapt to them!

However I'm unable to find the device drivers for what he. The closest model on the site of Toshiba UK seems to be the L630. I installed all the drivers, that I could find there, but still, in Device Manager one device shows without a "PCI Simple Communications controller" driver.

  You are right. The European driver Toshiba page does not provide a Win XP drivers for this laptop yet.

  But I think that you should not worry much laptops are equipped with the same GPU chip.
  I recommend checking the previous series of Toshiba laptops and trying to install this driver.
