Satellite L50 - B - 1 HM overheating problem

Hello

I have a problem with my laptop, but for what I really need help is to contact/speak with someone on my current fix a petition (see last paragraph)

The problem started with my laptop (serial No. YE280915C) making a noise of a piece loose in the upper right corner (where the fan is). This has happened for about 3 weeks, is difficult to detect in the first place where the sound came. It is in warranty and no drops / misuse took place. These sounds were not something continuous, just happened sometimes (about 3-4 days a week and for a few seconds). Eventually she stopped making noise. Then, I received several messages the system talk to me of a refrigeration problem, turn off the computer and call the technical service. While I was doing this task to communicate with them, I have reduced its use. The last day I was with the pc, he died.

I made a petition to fix it. I'm of the Spain. My real problem is have not been able to talk to a human being throughout the process. I guess that a carrier is coming, but I don't know when or anything. I had to make the request via the web page (toshiba.es/sos) because it was impossible to do it by phone... I received a rational number of this web site, it contains numbers and the letter. I used the phone numbers are:
-913797302. Meet a robot on your problem, but the end of the line is always busy whenever you called.
-902283283 / 918004652. You answer the questions of a robot and when he asks you for the number of impact that you can not write letters, so I assumed the number I have is not correct.
I need assistance to contact someone in Spain telling me if I have to do something more and at what point in the process, I.

I wrote a very large response, but it gave an error and deleted.

To sum up, I have two codes, but they seem to not be valid:
GAB1MW0006
7402788

Also contact a supplier (repair within the http://www.toshiba.eu/generic/ASP_SUPPORT/ page site. They said they repair Toshiba product in warranty, but I have to pay the shipping of the product, and that Toshiba's slow pick-up of product and make the process (1-2 months)

I have need help and advice on what to do.

  • Satellite Pro U400 starts and overheating problems

    Hello

6 weeks ago, I bought a Satellite Pro U400. Shortly after that I bought, I noticed that the computer overheating. After 1 hour of use, it becomes very hot in the touchpad area, as well in the base of the computer and on the touchpad itself. It is very annoying because I almost burn my fingers with the touch pad.

The problems began 10 days ago. I had been using the laptop for an hour when it suddenly turned off without notice. Power outage? I don't know Don t. I looked like a sytem of overheating protection. My previous laptop had the same problem. After a few minutes, I was able to turn it back on.

Then it happened again a few days ago, but it took me 5 minutes to turn on. Yesterday, it happened again, and after 45 minutes without response, I went to bed. In the morning, I was able to turn it on.

This also happens when wifi is disabled, it is not only a problem with the wifi card, overheating of the system.

Am I the only one having this problem? I will try to send it back to Toshiba for a replacement or a refund.

Is this normal in a really new machine?

    Thank you

First, the warming of the touchpad is normal for almost every laptop, due to construction. Under this, there are the HARD drive and it produces heat. With my last books, and it was not bad, too.
But really to get so hot?

Due to the protection against overheating, it is normal that you cannot turn on your laptop immediately.
But the wireless card is not the device in question, because it's a very small piece of hardware and produce little heat.

You said, you had this problem with your notebook previous too. Let me ask you, when you use your notebooks? What your table surface there or is there no matter what on that table cloth?

What I can tell you right now is, to check your locations of fantilation for all dust or maybe you have objects near it so that hot air can not cool.

    > Model number is PSAARE-05P02JAV running windows Vista Ultimate Edition,.
As far as I know the laptop was not preinstalled with Vista Ultimate
Have you installed using Microsoft Vista disc clean?

Have you checked if this issue would be to appear by using the OS preinstalled Toshiba?
You should do this to see if it really is software related issue.

    Just a few words about the BSOD;
This may happen during the serious hardware problem or software.
Eventually he s a hardware problem, but it's not easy to say
BSOD could be the causes of failure of RAM or because of a temperature inside the laptop.

So if it s overheating issue then you should check if the cooling grids are free of dust.
You can remove the dust using a jet of compressed air, I did too and it worked.

  • Satellite L50 - A - 16 Q - problems after upgrade to 8.1 windows

    Hi all

    I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite L50 - A - 16 Q.

I decided to update my laptop to Windows 8.1 Win8, unfortunately, it was really bad decision.
After that my computer is very slow. It takes forever to push the power button to be ready to use browser. Even Chrome does not work correctly. Before the update, my computer was big, fast and stable.

Is there anyone who had simillar problem? Is it possible to go back to Windows 8 without destroying my C: drive?
Maybe I should install something more?
    All drivers or another update?

I just install Win 8.1 update and nvidia drivers graphics.

    Hello

To be honest, I put t understand the decision to return to Win 8.
Win 8 contained many bugs that have been fixed with Win 8.1

Two days ago, I upgraded my new Satellite M50 - A Win Win 8 to 8.1.
It took some time but finally win 8.1 run on my laptop and its great!

First of all, you must update the 8 8.1 Win win recommendation of Toshiba:
    Details:
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/generic/windows8_1-message/
All Toshiba drivers, utility tools must be updated!

With regard to the starting time:
You know the hybrid mode? Default (Win 8) did not stop you probably know other systems like Win 7 offshore. The 8 winning performed the closed hybrid that allows you to boot up the laptop faster. But this has been closed not real mode.

Here is a good description how toggle this mode:

  • Satellite L50-B-1GL - connection WI - FI problems

    I bought a Toshiba Satellite L50-B-1GL

I'm having problems with the WiFi signal reception, I found that it is that in this book because I have an another older toshiba and receives the signal also correctly correctly receive the signal in the cell, the problem is with this laptop, low signal of a Bay and up to two or three at the most, sometimes gives even me the message that there is no sign , do not work with the battery, I am plugged into the mains.

Please can you help me, or I have to send for repair.

    Thank you.

    Message has been translated

    Hello

I think you have some connection problems Wi - Fi because that card LAN of the laptop that is Intel 802.11ac + agn supports WLan standards (AC, A, G, N) probably there is a problem of compatibility between the router and the especially WLan card if the WLan router has been configured for 802.11 B or G only.

If you want to establish the WiFi connection, you must ensure that the road and the wireless network adapter supports the same WLan standard.
For example: the router + wireless network card must be set to 802.11 A or G or N because these standards are supported by the WLan module.

For the wireless network adapter, you will need to check / change the settings in:
-> WLan card device manager-> properties-> Advanced tab

On the Advanced tab, you'll find settings and options that must be controlled and configured.

  • Satellite L50 and SSD - performance problem

    Hello

I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite L50-A-1EH and the first thing I did was to replace the hard drive with an SSD.
Initially the SSD is not recognized by the BIOS, like many other users across the Internet reported as well.

To prove this statement here are other people having the same problem, and people have tried different SSD.

    Link: [1st edition SSD | http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/General-Troubleshooting/E45t-cant-detect-Samsung-840-pro-SSD/td-p/503785]
    Link: [2nd edition SSD | http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/General-Troubleshooting/Switching-HDD-to-SSD-on-Satellite-S55-A5176-Problem/td-p/590778]

The problem can be solved by changing a setting in the BIOS.

[The SATA interface parameter] [enforcement] to [battery life].

However, this workaround solution comes with a cost, which is performance.
The SSD is able to transfer files at a speed of 500 MB/s.

However, in this mode the SSD transfers files at 133 MB/s.
I lose 4 x the speed of the SSD.

In my view this problem in the BIOS.

Can someone help me solve this problem?

    With sincere friendships.
    Arthur BOULELLI.

I also discovered today that is not serious if I am running in mode UEFI BIOS (CSM).

Combined with AHCI BIOS mode it takes [parameter] Interface SATA for battery life, otherwise the SSD is not recognized.

The Toshiba using the latest firmware (to July 23, 2014), which is v1.70.
The SSD is a Samsung 840 Evo and has the latest firmware, which is EXT0BB6Q.

Given that the SATA interface is set to battery life, the SATA interface is set to SATA1, who of course tops out at 133 MB/s.

For me, it is simply amazing that a laptop with a Core i7-4700MQ the year 2014 cannot detect an SSD SATA3.

Does anyone have a suggestion how to fix this?

  • Satellite L50-B916 - wireless connection problem

    Hello

I bought my Toshiba Satellite L50 B916 less than 6 months ago and had to download all the drivers for myself because for some reason, the operating system has not come with her.

Went to the site of TOSHIBA MEA to download and install the corresponding drivers.
    Downloaded the Atheros wireless driver.

Still, the Internet connection disconnects on my laptop, but works fine on other laptops and devices.
Not just a connection, all the ones I tried to connect to.

Tried to remove Atheros and re - install, it worked fine for a few days, but the connection disrupt again.

What should I do to solve this very annoying problem?

Hmm... made it happen using the laptop in battery or also while mode that the adapter is connected to the laptop?

It might be possible that the powers of WiFi, saving settings are enabled, and therefore stops the WiFi connection.

    Reach:
Windows power options - choose the right central - advanced power options.
Search of the WLan card settings and set it to "best performance".
You must also set the parameters for the PCI express for the 'best performance '.

In addition, go to the Device Manager. Choose here the Wlan card properties
Switch to the last tab called "Power Management" and make sure that the option available in this tab is not checked!

  • Satellite Pro A40 inside cleaning due to overheating problems

    Hi Forum,
I want to clean my Satellite Pro A40 carefully inside due to overheating problems.

Can someone provide me with a sort of manual how to open the SPA40 correctly resp. How to clean it.

I think that indoor air to blow a few tablets will not solve the problem, there is a lot of dirt and dust inside.

IWant to do myself, so please do not recommend you speak to a technical expert.

    Thanxx in advance...

    Hello

    > I want to do it myself, so please don't recommend me to contact a technical specialist.

In my own opinion, generally it s not a bad suggestion if some advises to contact a technician for laptop to a radiator cleaning because the dismantling of most of the computers mobile new generation is very delicate and not easy. Mostly one or the other has no experience and in this case, it is best contact an ASP to help him try to clean the laptop and probably damage parts.
If the warranty is valid such procedure will void the warranty

But don t worry buddy ;) I'll try to help you as much as I can
I have goggled a bit and found it nice [statement | http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/ToshibaA45/Satellite-A45-remove-hinges-1.htm] how to disassemble the Satellite A45.
The A45 is very similar to the A40 and so pictures of the laptop must be the same.

Step 4 (photo) and step 5 shows the dirty radiator and how to remove it.
You do not need to disassemble the laptop full but only the radiator at the bottom of the unit cover.

Notes; Always be careful and don't use force to remove anything ;) and you know everything you do are at your own risk

I hope I could help. Best regards and Merry Christmas ;)

    Good bye

  • Problem with Polish letters on the Satellite L50-B-177

    Helllo,

3 days ago, I bought Toshiba Satellite L50-b-177 and I installed all the updates proposed, including the new version of the BIOS 1.70.

Right now I have problems with some of the letter Polish such as?,?,?.

In some Polish letters programs do not work at all, and in others only some of them.
I changed the language (Polish), type of keybord (Polish programmer), region (Poland) and many other options in poles and Poland. Does not always work.

Can you help me? Should I switch my laptop?
I contacted with the center of Polish service COMP, but they sent me to this forum.

    OLA

    Please check this thread
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums//thread.jspa?threadID=78858

I recommend you to check the external USB keyboard functionality.
If external keyboard works properly, the problem could be linked to a malfunctioning internal keyboard.

In addition its recommended recovery the laptop to factory settings and check the functionality of the laptop as part of the default factory setting.

    _UPDATE: _

This seems to be realted BIOS bug and I guess you have to wait until the new BIOS will be published which could solve the problem

  • Satellite L50 - USB connectivity problem

Hello, new to these forums and just buy a Toshiba Satellite L50.

The problem is when I connect my iPhone in a few seconds it will disconnect, reconnect, disconnect plug. Then a pop up according to sleep and fresh loan, then another pop up will say choose what to do with this device, and then it will disconnect and reconnect etc. and loop messages and connection.

I disabled sleep and even cool thing. I allow it and put the laptop to sleep and I can charge my phone and it is not disconnect and reconnect.

For the moment, I turned off the iPhone into Device Manager and its load although if I try and allow him to do as stated above.

It is not a problem of windows I Linux out there, and it will do the same to connect/disconnect. "Buzz-buzz" vibrating door very quickly.

It is not the phone or cable as these work well on another computer.

So can anyone explain what this problem and how to fix it.

    Footnote: BIOS Version 1.90

    Thank you!

    Hello

As far as I know the laptop supports different USB ports.

Have you tried to connect the smartphone on different USB ports?
    If this isn't it.

More I recommend you to check the parameters of each device to save energy.

In-> controller device manager USB-> properties-> last tab (power management)

Here you will find an option to turn off the device to save power.
This option should not be enabled. In the event that the option is checked, remove the mark.
