Sorry, buddy, but I think you have the wrong information. Satellite M70 can handle with max 2 GB of RAM and you can use 2 X DDR2 400/533 1 GB with PA3411U-1M1G part number

Have you checked on the compatible modules in page Kingston?

  • My Satellite L850-18 t will support the new SSD?

    Hello

I am seriously thinking to buy the new SSD which is SATA III. Currently, I have Toshiba Satellite L850-18 t, European model. And I think that (although that is quite difficult to get information) that the current HARD disk is SATA I.

My question is, will the new SSD work correctly, it will take all the benefits (write and read speed) if I install it on the laptop? And if not, what SATA SSD do you recommend?

I really need to empty it.

    Best regards
    Luka

Yes, your Toshiba laptop support SSD. I have older machines, and there is no problem with SSDS.
This is not complicated, you think it is.
Check prices and buy one that suits.

I can recommend brands like Toshiba, Samsung or Kingston. More info on SSD Toshiba you can find on http://storage.toshiba.eu/cms/en/index.html

A friend of mine uses Samsung 840 Series SSD of base and it works perfectly. The new SSD, you can install original recovery image and start using your machine with factory again.

    Hello

  • Satellite P20-552: BIOS will support the 80 GB HARD drive?

I currently have a 80 GB hard drive in my notebook. I read that the BIOS will not handle a hard drive-it's an absolute or a BIOS update will fix this limitation?

    Hello

I read the same info on the HARD drive compatible for Sat P20.
According to some owners Sat P20 the laptop supports 30 GB / 40 GB/60 GB/80 GB
    Hard drives.
But you know, these aren't the official information and I recommend simply test several sizes.
Maybe a 100 GB HARD drive will be supported

On the satellite M70-337 you will not find any signal in the ports for signal reception.
This laptop supports only a s-video port to a TV connection output. You can use it to display the screen of the laptop on the TV.
So if you want to save and receive TV signals, strings, you must use an external solution as a 3rd party TV card

I connected an external monitor and booted in safe mode.
    I uninstalled the display drivers.
I started to monitor and reinstalled the display drivers.
The computer will now boot up screen.

I put the display to indicate to both monitor and screen.

    On the monitor, all right.
On the screen, I get vertical lines color, similar to a wallpaper (wallpaper is not pretty).

Did anyone has got any ideas what could be the problem, or how to diagnose the problem
    Any help would be appreciated.

If everything is OK on the external monitor that is the best evidence that this problem is related to the internal LCD. Display must be exchanged.

According to two different documents from HP, your PC has only SATA II ports.  However, a SATA III hard drive will still work.  In addition, the chipset Intel H61 in your PC doesn't support SATA II.

  • Satellite M70 needing an upgrade of RAM?

    Hi all

    I have a Satellite M70 who suffers.
It's all slow and despite my music collection among other major programs to transfer on a drive external HARD, my laptop frequently slows down and blocks much to my annoyance.

I regularly have a frag my HD on a base twice a week which helps a little, and I delete the temporary files, the Recycle Bin as well at the end of each month, but nothing seems to speed it up significantly. I run Spyware Doctor, but he does not reveal anything that would explain such a slow performance.

Could someone advise me what to do?
I asked for advice in this regard other suggestions is considering upgrading the RAM in an attempt to speed it up.

    Kind regards

    WMorgan86

    Hello

In your case I would check and start the MSCONFIG and would disable some background process is not necessary in the Start button.

The upgrade of RAM would be useful too.
The M70 would support max 2 GB of RAM and you need DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200 - PIN SODIMM modules!

Instruction how to upgrade the RAM you will find in the user manual!

    Good bye

I have satellite M70-215, and I have a problem with the DVD - RAM drive... it's my dvd - ram does not correctly read the CDs... some of them can be read and some of them may not... when I put a CD that leans on another computer, I was 'incorrect function', ' device can not available "errors... or I see an audio CD instead of data cd... but on the other side, some of my CDs work wihtout problems... I did everything (remove driver and install again etc.) to solve the problem but I could not find the answer... This is my second toshiba laptop and now I have the same problem again... What's wrong with this DVD - RAM drive? I hope you can help me because I got bored with that...

The problem could be the driver lens calibration.
Before the player will read or write to the media of the lens must be calibrated in the right position, but if the drive has been used long-term these problems appear

Sometimes the lens cleaning helps, but especially the disk needs to be replaced

  • Satellite M70 will not start

    Hello
I have a big problem with my Satellite M70. I can't pass on this laptop, by AC or battery. lamp power shines for 3 seconds and then turns off, also fan who jumps for about 3 seconds. Then it is a cell phone dead. What can I do or where the problem lies?
    who can help me?
    Dieter

    Hello Dieter

Have you updated something on this unit (e.g. RAM)? Try removing the battery and start unit with AC adapter only. If nothing works I recommend you contact the service partner in your country as soon as possible.

I'm not an expert, but it cannot be anything like hardware related issue and must be verified by the service. Perhaps that the CPU is not cooled properly and the temperature is too high within 3 seconds and unit just turns off.

I guess you are from the Germany, and you can contact a service partner it. Addresses you will find under http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_gaspLocator.jsp?pf=true

    Good luck!

  • Satellite M70-340 does support SATA 300 MB/s?

I want to replace the original with MK1237GSX MK6034GSX hard drive. The difference is 150 and 300 MB/s transfer rate. will be mk1237gsx works with my M70?

    Hello

The Satellite M70-340 was delivered with the 60 GB SATA 5400 RPM HARD drive.
I don't think that the speed of the HARD drive could have a bad influence on the compatibility of the HARD drive.

You must only make sure that the size of the HARD drive and the interface are supported!

    Best regards

  • Upgrading RAM on Satellite M70-215

    Hi all.

I'm sorry if a similar topic has been created under the same title before.

I did a little research before posting my question here and noone about were really able to help.

I want to upgrade my Satellite M70-215 memory original 512 MB to 2 GB. I took the machine to a computer technician, but he has not been able to locate the second memory location (it was supposed to be placed under the keyboard) so he told me I can get the memory of my laptop RAM upgrade up to 1 GB only.

This has me calm that confused as what I have read on laptop manual, I should have no problem up to 2048 MB max memory upgrade.
I can upgrade my laptop to 2048 MB memory or make me a second location for RAM memory at all?

    Any help is very appreciated!

    Regs

    > I took the machine to a computer technician, but he was not able to locate the second memory location
    Is this a joke? ;)
Tell him please he should give up and do something else.

The two RAM slots are under the memory cover down. Remove the cover and you will see two slots here. Maybe the second slot is covered by memory module. Check it out.

And Yes, you can improve M70 up to 2 GB, but please use the modules of 1 GB compatible.
I have the Satellite M70-159. Large notebook.

  • Satellite M70-131 supports resolution 1920 x 1200

    Hello friends!

I have laptop Toshiba Satellite M70-131.
Recently I bought HP LP24645 wide screen TFT monitor.

Unfortunately, my Toshiba does not support the required resolution of 1920\1200. He has only 1600/1200. Monitor driver is installed. Video card driver is updated. But nothing for good.

Pls is there any meaning the BIOS update?
I know that it is an official recommendation of Toshiba support, but I would like to know for sure if she will not solve the problem because I am not advanced user and this must be done in the case that I need to seek assistance from qualified people.

    Hello

In your case, I recommend to check the user's manual if the 1920 x 1200 external resolution is supported by the graphics card.

    First check!

PS: updates the BIOS will not help you to get this resolution if it s not supported by the GPU and graphics driver
