  • Satellite P100 Windows MCE hotkey.exe/Media hotkeys

    Hey there,

My Satellite P100 has six media usual and all buttons but play work correctly.

I was wondering if there is a way to stop the play button opening the useless Windows Media Center unless the program is open, the key will not do what is supposed to do.

It's like hotkey.exe is indicative of the key to open the media center when you press if it is not already open. If someone knows how to fix this stupid problem and check the key work is once again, I would be very happy if they could let me know.

    Wolfy ~

    Hey Wolfy

I can't imagine that this problem exists on the first day because the laptop with the factory settings is pre-installed and configured correctly. Because of this, I think you did something wrong and now you have this problem.

The buttons feature is responsible for tools designed by Toshiba. I don't really know exactly who is responsible for this, but you can try to reinstall TOSHIBA Hotkey Utility V1.8.3.2, TOSHIBA controls V1.8.3.2 and also V1.8.3.2 utility TOSHIBA.

I think TOSHIBA controls should be responsible for this, but I'm not 100% sure.

My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite P100-291.

I opted for Win XP for Win8.

Lack now the correct driver for the following:
    -High definition Audio
    -Mass storage controller

    Concerning
    Nothing

Satellite P100 is old enough laptop model designed for Windows XP Home edition. Since then, we've changed three operating systems and hardware requirement is changed too, so manufacturers and manufacturers don t support old hardware laptop more so I put t think you will find good Win8 drivers for this old piece of hardware.

  • Unexpected restarts in Satellite P100 WXP MCE

Satellite P100-342 - PSPA3E 10 months. From the beginning, the pc restarts unexpectedly during a working session every 5 minutes on. A full recovery does not solve the problem.

The pc was sent 3 times to the Toshiba technical service: motherboard, memory of the graphics card and hard drive has been changed and bios and updated soft graphics card. After repairs things have improved a little bit and reboots happen about every hour.

Restart is not at all when the computer works alone (download large file, reading movies etc..) without user intervention.

    Hello

It's very strange question. Can you please tell me what is your typical work session? What applications you use especially when the system crashes?

  • Satellite P100-426 - which audio driver I need for Windows 7 64 bit?

    Hello

I installed Windows 7 64 bit for my P100-426. It was no problem but I can not foud a driver for the sound chip and I do not know the sound chip that is on board.

    Maybe someone can help me.

    Thank you very much.

    sven_lee

    Hey,.

The problem is hat for Windows Vista 64-bit or Windows 7 64-bit are drivers available for your laptop model. I checked this on the official website of Toshiba:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

According to the Toshiba page your laptop has audio chip Conexant
But Conexant doesn t provide drivers directly then you will have to check again the Web from Toshiba site

I discovered that the Satellite P300 also has card his Conexant and there is a driver for Windows 7 64-bit available. In my opinion, you should try the audio driver for Satellite P300. Theoretically, this should work. ;)

Hello. My DVD players seems to have disappeared from within Windows MCE running on my P100-347. BIOS can see it, it opens and closes without any problems and the light comes on as if the disc is read, but it is not considered by Windows as a disc.

  • Satellite P100-387: how reintall Windows XP Media Center Edition

    Hello

I work with P100-387. Today, I realized, that there is a problem with the new upgrades for windows and update for Office 2007. I'm not able to open Word. Excel is workin, Power Point also. Opening remarks, the remains of screen splash long (about 3-4 minutes), the menu is being loaded, but when I try to click on something... does not.
I tried to delete some KB, but nothing helped. I have downloade also all the updates for Office 2007 - still does not.

If the last option is to reinstall Windows. Please tell me how to do?

I tried using the recovery disk, but I scare: there is that my HARD drive will be formatted in a single partition of message (for the time being, I have 4, and I want to do all the time with all the data). My goal is to format only C: (the system) and install the fresh news or Windows XP MCE.

Please give a solution, how to solve this problem.

    Best regards

    > I tried using the recovery disk, but I scare: there is that my HARD drive will be formatted in a single partition of message

Well generally it of true the recovery CD would be to format the whole HARD drive and erase all partitions and set the laptop to factory settings.

But the question is; what recovery CD Toshiba do you have? I presume that it is the new version of the recovery CD because the laptop Satellite P100-387 is not very old.

You can choose between the Standard recovery mode and Expert mode?
Using the expert mode you should be able to choose the partition where the operating system would be installed.

But if it is not able to choose between these two recovery modes, then I guess you have the new recovery called RECO CD and there is no other choice than to format the whole HARD drive. In this case, the backup of the data would be desirable

Of course, you can use the original CD of Microsoft. Using this CD, you will be able to install the OS on the single partition without format the whole HARD disk.

    Best regards
