Satellite P20 can be rotated 90 degrees external display?

Hello

I have a portable Satellite P20 304 (about 2 years now) with a graphics processor GeForce FX Go5600. I would like to rotate the image to external monitor so that I can use a size of 1200 x 1600 (height than width) rather than the 1600 x 1200 standard. I just downloaded the new Toshiba drivers nv4_disp.dll 6.14.10.4718 and also checked all offers from NVidea (their pilots do not recognize chipset). But all to no effect. I can't the nvrotate offering coming onder the GeForce FX Go5600 properties.

Can someone help me.
Thank you

As much as I know the graphic driver for old P20 don t have this option. Usually if you buy software external screen with special rotate option is provided that allows you to do this.

Check it please advanced option search on this forum. I'm sure that for a single user has asked the same question. You may find the answer here.

With the player, you can change the file, not the actual file view. You can do it via view - display rotation.

He will present to the original when you reopen the file, however.

  • Satellite Pro A110 PSAB1C: can't choose certain resolution external display

I have Pro A110 PSAB1C-GM60XE with Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (Controller graphic memory integrated Intel 945GM Chipset) running Windows 7 Enterprise.
Graphics driver is up to date.

We got 20 "external monitor wide screen HD.
When it is used as external screen it allows only up to 1280 x 1024. The display is nice streched out.

I tried the monitor of one laptop another the same graphics card (integrated memory graphics controller Intel 945GM Chipset), also Windows 7 Enterprise.
The same version of the graphics driver. This laptop has resolution up to 1600 x 900.

Any ideas on what needs to be done on A110 Pro to support the resolution 1600 x 900 for the external monitor?

Note: I've tried DTD Calculator but still the same http://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/showthread.php?t=56423.

    Hello

Available external display resolution depends on the graphics chip and the driver graphics card.
If the graphics chip or the graphics driver doesn t card supports the preferred external resolution, you will not be able to choose.

It seems that the graphics chip will support this resolution.
In such cases, it s a driver problem.

Therefore, it would be advisable to download and install the driver from the Intel page.
I had the similar problem in the past. The driver of Toshiba page didn t supports my favorite external resolution. I got the driver from Intel page and was able to chose him.

  • Satellite P20 does not start - BIOS are not displayed

I have a Satellite P20 and recently it does not start. When I press the power button that disk HARD will light up and it will check the cd-rom drive, but the screen is blank and will not display the bios screen. I can only turn it off by pressing the power button.

Is it likely to be a hardware problem? I'll try to remove the RTC battery if possible to see if this resets the bios.

    Thank you

  • Satellite A300 - XP SP3: how to set external display, resolution 1280 x 960

    Hello world

I installed the latest display driver for Mobility Radeon HD 3650, but I can't understand how to set the Resolution for my external monitor at 1280 x 960 (85 Hz) - the original driver of non - Mobility Radeon ATI does not have this option.

In addition, my A300 does not remember the setting of brightness with FN + F6 / F7.
After windows restarts, it is once again the most.

    Any ideas / suggestions?

    Thanks in advance,

    Manulu

    Hello

The availability of the external screen resolution depends on the installed graphics driver and the graphics card itself. If the two parties n t support this external display (1280 x 960) resolution, then you will not be able to choose!
See the user manual for this if the GPU provides support for this resolution of the external display (1280 x 960).

    Regarding the brightness setting:
If the laptop is connected to the adapter, the brightness of the display will return to the optimum brightness. But you can manage these display settings in power management.
There, you can create a profile for certain situations, for example when the laptop works with the energy of the battery only
In this power profile, you can assign different levels of display brightness.

  • How can I disable the "No external display" message on my Dell laptop?

My Dell Inspiron has decided to express themselves by posting a message in the center of my screen which reads: No. external displays attached. Can someone tell me please how to remove it. Function keys do not. Thank you!

This happened to me when I put a card in a Panasonic Lumix.  First time in more than two years with the Dell printer.  And no, the keys function did not activate it, or I'm trying to reach or unattach an external display, and I tried to join a recently.

Since there seems to be confusion in the responses (other sites as well) I will reiterate:

There is a boring partially opaque screen in the middle of the screen that bed No. external displays attached.  There is no external display in the room, and the function keys do not fix the problem.

My operating system is Window Vista Home edition, Service Pack 2, on Inspiron 1545

  • Satellite M30X: Can't watch movies on external LCD screen via a cable VGA - black screen?

    Hello.

I have toshiba laptop M30X satellite and I difficutlties about the link between the laptop and lcd tv 32 S 3000.

    1. first of all, I tried with the s-Video cable: I see what is on the screen of the computer laptop on the TV screen, but much worse than plugging in the VGA cable, in terms of sharpness and resolution. I did this by setting the LCD display in the menu windows.

    2. when I use the VGA cable, I don't see it on the TV screen, what is on the screen of the laptop.
I might need to upgrade the drivers for the ATI radeon 9600/9700 series factory installed on the laptop?

BUT the biggest problem arises when I want to see on lcd display media player file formats: mpeg, avi, etc.

What's happening: on the screen of the laptop, I have the image of the film, and on the LCD TV screen I have BLACK SCREEN (even the media player toolbars are still visible)
If anyone has an ideea, I appreciate it.

    Thank you for your time.

    > 2. When I use the VGA cable, I don't see it on the TV screen, what is on the screen of the laptop.
    > I might need to upgrade the drivers for the ATI radeon 9600/9700 series factory installed on the laptop?
This has nothing to do with the display driver, but with the connection.
The VGA port should be used to connect the external TFT and not the TV monitor
But have you used the option of FN + F5 to switch between screens devices?

    > On the screen of the laptop, I have the image of the film, and on the LCD TV screen I have BLACK SCREEN (even the media player toolbars are still visible)
To my knowledge, you must first switch the display on the external monitor and then you should start the film actor.

Grandson just sent me... he did something to cause the screen on his Satellite A110-275 to rotate 90 degrees. He's now a permanent of the laptop on its edge so it can look at without unscrewing his head. Happy that this isn't a plasma 42 "he got. How it only resets the viewing.

    Hello

On Nvidia graphics cards, you can use the key combination to change this option for rotation:
    CTRL + SHIFT + R

I put t know if it s the same on different graphics cards, but you can try it.

  • Satellite P20 S203 - where can I get the cover external big screen?

    Hi all

Anyone know where to find an outer cover of the big screen Satellite P20 S203?

I broke it because I disassembled all the pc some time ago, and as I can see now that I took out the black cover around the screen. I forgot to screw the 2 screws on the hinges that make it able to open and close. It is only broken on one of the screens, hinges, so the pc is still usable, with appropriate caution, I can still open and close, but sooner or later, I think that the other will be too broke, opening and closing of the screen all the time, so I have to replace it
    .
    Hope someone can help me.
    Good bye

    Hello

I'm not sure what cover you mean exactly, but you can get all the spare parts to an authorized service provider. On the Toshiba page, you can find a list of them.

You must only contact them by phone, for example. Explain the situation and maybe they can send you a new cover.

    Welcome them

  • External monitor gives strange aspect ration with Satellite P20 XP

I have a P20-552 (PSP26E-025E9-S4), who is four years and works well with XP Home SP3. For more screen space while editing video I recently bought an external monitor - an Acer X193w. It shows everything what is shown crashed down a little bit, that is to say, but it should show., a circle has a distinctive oval to it.

It is plugged into my Toshiba with analog cable and the only resolutions that it will give me are 1280 x 1024, 1024 x 768 and 800 x 600 which none do actually correspond to the 1440 x 900 on my Toshiba.

I tried all the settings that I could find, made sure my BIOS and nVidia are up-to-date and I exchanged a few e-mails with Acer support on the subject. Their support staff is now leading me round in a circle ("it is plug and play," "oh yes, that's sounds wrong", "here is the pilot", "no, we don't give installation instructions" and so on) and still no joy. The screen plug and play perfectly with an another Vista laptop that I have, but I really like to use with my Toshiba faithful.

    Suggestions, please?

    Thank you, Brian.

    Hello Brian

Sorry, but I believe that there is not a lot, you can do it. It is 19 wide TFT screen and your laptop s video card does not offer good resolution for it. Display modes Satellite P20 cannot offer the resolution 1440 x 900 for external displays.

    * All you can do is try to change the driver display, but on your own risk.*

  • Can speeds of DVD - I play slower pre-recorded DVD - Satellite P20 801

I have a Satellite P20 801. I think to buy a DVD burner, so I can transfer VHS to DVD hardware. If I recorded it at a slower speed, would I be able to play on my laptop? How can I tell if the DVD on the P20 player can play different rhythms - assuming that's possible?

    Thank you.

    Hello

As far as I know that the recording speed is not relevant for play. You can save on the minimum or maximum speed DVD and the DVD can be played on your P20. My previous laptop was P20 and I never had no problem with this.

  • Satellite A10: RGB Port is not installed - can not use external display

Satellite A10 the RGB PORT is not installed & cannot be used as external display. I tried to install the communication or COM 1. interrupt code. What are the possible solutions?

    Hello

What did you mean by "not installed"?
Generally, you don't need to install anything. You don't need any drivers for this port 3.
Windows XP drivers should work properly.

Please check device manager if there are errors or yellow exclamation points.
If the problem occurs for a short time, you can try to use the WinXP restore tool.
This tool will reduce the BONE until the start.

I have so many things to do and I'm stuck!

    Hello

    I think I can help you ;)

All Intel (any laptop) graphics cards support the same shortcut keys.

You can rotate the screen of the laptop by using these buttons:

CTRL + ALT + UP = turn to normal
    CTRL + ALT + LEFT = rotate 90 degrees
    CTRL + ALT + DOWN = rotate 180 degrees

    and so on.

PS: You can use this keys only if an option called enable hotkeys has been verified.
You can disable this in Accelerator Intel GMA. You can reach this through the control panel or properties of the graphics card-> settings-> advanced.

    Good bye
