Satellite P25-s607: max memory speed

I plan to upgrade my memory to the phone of p25-s607, he saya in the spec that the memory is ddr 266
someone told me that the chipset is 885 pe so the card mother shoud suport up to 400 mhz,
is it so? and if I put it ddr 333 (or 400) going to work at these speeds?

Hello

The chipset is Intel 865PE and ICH5 with data/address Bus width; 64-bit / 32-bit
In addition, this device was shipped with 512 MB of DDR SDRAM and you expand to 2048 MB
Memory expansion: 128, 256, 512, 1024 MB, 2.5V, SODIMM, DDR PC2100 SDRAM

Unfortunately I have not found information on the memory clock speed, but as far as I know, you can use these Kingston modules:
Kingston KTT3614/128 128 MB of memory
Memory of 256 MB Kingston KTT3614/256
KTT3614/512 Kingston 512 MB of memory
Memory module 1 GB Kingston KTT3614 / 1 G

  • Is it allowed to use 1 GB + 256 MB of RAM in Satellite P25-s607

I have a Satellite P25-s607, and I wanted to know the following:

    (1) if it is allowed to install only a single 1 GB stick of RAM next to a 256 MB stick? Do I lose any speed performance this versus 2 sticks of 1 GB (in assuming that I use less than 1 GB of RAM, most of the time)? It seems that there is a performance hit since this model supports dual-channel memory (according to crucial.com)

    (2) I guess that's the correct module (better) to use: [1 GB, 200-pin SODIMM, DDR PC2700 | http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=3B53A794A5CA7304] with specs:
    # Module size: 1 GB
    # Package: 200 - pin SODIMM
    # Feature: DDR PC2700
    # File: DDR PC2700 CL = 2.5 unbuffered NON ECC DDR333 2.5V 128Meg x 64

    (3) is there a reason to install BIOS 2.10? It is listed under under P25-S607-associated toshiba support site, but the only change it says is: "Added support for the D1 Pentium 4 CPU stepping.

    (4) is it possible to install a better processor? I guess not...

    (5) what graphics card (it came with NVIDIAî Geforcea? ¢ of the FX Go5200 graphics controller; external video memory 64 MB DDR)? Also I guess not...

    Thanks for any help!

    Hello

With regard to the number of question:

    (1) the laptop can be upgraded up to 2 GB of RAM, and this is why you can use a 1 GB of RAM and a 256 MB module. But it of always better if you want to use identical memory modules. It is better for performance, but I doubt you will notice a performance boost.

    (2) Yes, you must use the 200-pin SODIMM, DDR PC2700 modules

    (3) If your laptop runs then I put t problem see no reason for an update of the BIOS

    (4) usually it's s not advisable to upgrade the processor because of a superior heat dissipation and overheating due to better CPU performance

    (5) it is certainly not possible because the GPU is attached on the map

  • Missing some drivers for Satellite P25-s607

    Hello

I have a Satellite P25-s607 I just do a clean reinstall of Windows XP media center edition windows home edition and the following drivers are not installed: Ethernet controller, multimedia audio controller, PCI modem and video controller (VGA compatible). all the four elements falls under other devices in Device Manager and the Device Manager doesn't give any information other than the other device and manufacturer = unknown.

You simply install the missing drivers, buddy ;)

OK you might ask how to find these drivers.

This laptop was designed for the American market, therefore, it would be desirable to search for the drivers on the Toshiba site us ;)

Please check this page and you select laptop model:

  • Satellite P25-s607: what speed of memory is possible?

I'm trying in vain for a few days to find what is the max Michael for the record my p25-s607 motherboars suports, ddr 266,333,400.
Some said that the chipset is 865 pe if it supports up to 400, some memory guaranteed compnies copatibility only up to 333.
Were find official response to that?

    Hello

Why do you start multiple views on the same issue?
You asked him about it in your first assignment:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=13168

The fact is that the chipset is 865PE and ICH5 most motherboards with this chipset can use DDR400/333/266 DIMM memory modules.
With your first assignment you can find modules that you can use. (266 / 333 Mhz)
I think you can also use the 400 MhZ modules.

  • Satellite Pro A100 - 828 Max memory speed

    Hello

Can someone please tell me the max speed of memory for Satellite Pro A100-828, I'm wanting to move to the 4 GB maximum but is some sites say the maximum speed is 533 MHz while others say to 667 MHz. For example, the Toshiba site lists only memory 533 MHz under the "Compatible" Options yet other sites list 667 MHz memory as compatible.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

You should check which bus (FSB) front would support.
Install the hardware diagnostic tool like Everest home edition, and you should be able to find this value.

If your chipset would support 667 Mhz then you can use these modules and the modules would go with 667 Mhz too.

  • Satellite L300-1BW - max memory per slot

    Hello

I have a problem with my L300-1BW. Recently, I replaced my memory and upgrated to RAM 2x2gb.
As I replace my Celeron T1600 1.6 Core 2 Duo T7500 2.2 my Toshi proc get so much that I consider myself as RAM upgrade even more.

We might find that L300-1BW plug here:
    http://www.Toshiba.co.UK/discontinued-products/satellite-L300-1BW/

And it says: "maximum extension: 4 096 MB.

I was wondering if it means limiting 4-GB PER SLOT? OR TOTAL?

I'm stuck, cause I typed "dmidecode t memory" on my OS of mint and stated as follows:

    Memory controller information «»
    Error detection method: no
    The capacity for error correction:
    None
    Supported Interleave: one-way Interleave
    Current Interleave: One-way Interleave

    Geographical area: motherboard or motherboard
    Use: System memory
    Type of Error Correction: no
    Maximum capacity: 8 GB

    It's 8GB maximum. is true?
Want to be 100% sure, as only 4GB DDR2 SO - DIMM module is quite expensive.

Thanks in advance for any kind of support in this case.

    Why not?

Satellite P100 supports the DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200-PIN SODIMM memory modules of the series.

You can switch to 4 GB max.

    See this page:

  • Satellite P25-S509 - RAM expansion

I have a Satellite P25-S509/PSP20U-ILKF3V and I am looking for instructions on adding ram. The underside of the computer's installed ram 1 GB and am looking to add another GB of Ram. They told me that I have to remove the screen and lift the keyboard to go to the area of expansion on this laptop. This device has a max of 2 GB, can someone help me with this?

    Thanks, Dan

    Hi faccipointi,

Usually the second RAM slot is placed on the underside that you already wrote and founded, but the first RAM slot should be under the keyboard. This means that you need to remove the keyboard to upgrade the RAM module.

    Can find you it?

  • Satellite P25-S507 - HARD drive replacement

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite P25-S507, which more is under warranty and has begun to report S.M.A.R.T. errors.

SmartMonitor reports a lot of questions especially marked as old age so I need to replace the disk. I was wondering if I can replace it with any standard 2.5 "ATA as an ATA-100 player. as the disk of 60 GB specification is ATA - 5.

    Any help appreciated.

Maybe no one has replaced the HARD drive on this laptop because it s Autric series and is a European forum of Toshiba, and most of us have European workbooks

But the P25 is very similar to the P20 series.
The P20 supports an improved IDE (ATA-5) interface.

Then you should be able to use IDE hard drives.

    If you want to use a faster disk (ATA-6 or later), then possibly the controller would have only allows the performance of ATA-5;
    ATA - 5 = Ultra DMA 66 = 4, = 6 MB/s UDMA-66 ;)

  • Satellite P25 video i/o does not.

My Satellite P25 provided with a card that's where would be a CD player. Its cable TV tuner works very well, but the problem is the other port on the card, which attaches to the (white, red, yellow) RCA cable. I don't know yet what it serves, but I tried it as an entrance and an exit, neither of which seems to have worked.

So, does anyone know what is his function and how to use this function?

    Hello

It seems that your laptop is an American model. Anyway, as far as I know TV tuner, you can put on the left side in place of the battery.

If you have a problem with input/output please check in you re User's Guide how you can make the connection to your TV. There is no detailed description which cable, you can use. I don't know, but you have two ports (which depends on your model) S-video port and video on the port (white, red, yellow). Until you take connection, also check the standard TV. I think you have to use NTSC.

If you have more problems let us know.

    Good bye
