  As far as I know this laptop Satellite A300D-15B was equipped with AMD chipset and therefore the SATA driver should be part of the ATI graphic driver.

  But you can also install the Win XP without the SATA drivers.
  In the BIOS, you will need to set the mode SATA from AHCI to compatible.

  Then you should be able to install Win XP on this laptop.

  I want to my hard drive of the C660-10F to a storage network using Ghost 15 recovery disk backup CD. So I have to configure the recovery disk bootable CD with the driver LAN C660-10F for XP 32 bit to get access to the network at the start of this CD. When I use the file lan - en - 20101105155404.zip with XP drivers from the Toshiba download page I get the error message

  All Windows XP drivers on the Toshiba Web site are for XP 32 bit version for 64-bit was never supported.

  What you can do to test the Realtek drivers directly:

  I had a similar situation with my A30 that prevented me from playing several games. As you will discover, it is virtually impossible to load the latest drivers (ATI or NVIDIA) maufacturers website so I resorted to http://www.omegadrivers.net/ OMEGA drivers to see if they work.

  The drivers Omega loading perfectly and worked without any problems for the last few months. I can even play games that would not support the original Toshiba drivers.

  I agree that there is a potential risk of the graphics chip overheating, but so far I have not suffered harm.

  Why you insert the recovery since a P200 laptop disk? When you get a Toshiba laptop it s all preinstalled Windows, drivers and tools.

  It s a user to user forum and I think that it s not allowed to copy these disks. ;)
