Satellite P70 - Has: noise sometimes whirring very fast is displayed

My P70 - A Satellite, which is less a year since purchase sometimes emits a very fast whirring noise from the right side of the laptop that you are looking at him.

It does not always happen, but it is becoming more common - it is more important to start.
Something is obviously wrong — I believe that this has something to do with the cooling fan.

I realized that the noise will disappear if you tilt the machine from front to back, but then when you place flat once again very high speed roar is still there.

Someone at - it had a similar problem or have any suggestions?

Thank you

Hello

On the right side of the computer, you can find the vents.
This means that a module of cooling and fan is placed on this side.
According to your information, noise whirring very fast (vibrations, maybe?) are produced by the cooling fan.

In my opinion it of difficult to say if your cooling fan is malfunctioning because the noise of the fan will be always noticeable, especially if the laptop needs to be cooled.

For example; the acoustic silencer was available for some of the Satellite A200 and you could download this on the European driver Toshiba page.

  • Satellite P70 - Has: monitor the profile not available/unable to define other profiles

    Hello.

I have branch last week a new notebook from Toshiba (P70-A-11 (q) which has 8.1 Windows preinstalled on it.

It seems that the device has a problem with the monitor profiles.
When I look at the pictures on a unmanaged profile software, the images seem fine.
Once I have import them to Lightroom or Photoshop, images get a yellow tint.

That's what I see: left (Lightrom), right (Irfan) [dyed Yello | http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh565/rockreactor/Clipboard05_zps092c5501.jpg]

Unfortunately, I tried to add sRGB on my profiles but even after rebooting, I didn't see any change.
From what I noticed the operating system doesn't have a defined profile at all before.

I know that by selecting a profile sRGB is not a good solution and I should rather to calibrate my monitor.
The question is why the profiles do not take any effect on my laptop screen, no matter which one I pick.
Even there are some conflicts with the Intel display driver?

Toshiba can support such a problem under warranty?
I think that it is not my responsibility to get a screen totally not calibrated, or at least a portable computer without some suggested profile.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi mate
    > Toshiba can support such a problem under warranty?
First of all guarantee covers any software problem. The warranty only covers hardware issues.
But I don t think that this could be a software problem. I guess it's just a matter of settings.

I recommend you to check if the option + use Windows display calibration "+ is activated."
    -Open the color management Panel.
    -Go to the Advanced tab.
-Click on "change the system's default settings...". »
-Go to the Advanced tab in color management - system default settings dialog box.
-Turn on "Use Windows display calibration" and click Close.
-Now go to the devices tab, change the profiles it and click on 'Set as default' as usual.

You can also go through the built-in feature of Windows of calibration ("Calibrate display" button in the tab advanced)

    Hello

I installed the Version of Enterprise 8.1 Win on my P70 - A Satellite. All devices in addition to ACPI\TOS620A\2 & DABA3FF & 2 are supported with the right drivers.

Does anyone know which device is, for example the Bluetooth Driver?
The Device Manager confirms that I have Bluetooth for Andoid, generic Bluetooth and Microsoft Bluetooth devices.

I have downloaded bfdp - 20131011113844.zip and run the exe file. I wonder this exe is not shows something like "Installed successfully" or more.

So I don't really know if Bluetooth is really installed and if Bluetooth is the question.

    Your

The ACPI\TOS620A unknown device seems to be related to a Toshiba HDD Protection Utility.

  • Satellite P70 - Has BIOS reflash / Wireless NIC drivers

    Hello

I currently have a few problems.

The first is that I can't get into the BIOS. To give you the full story, that I recently lowered the mark 8.1 for Windows Windows 7 and I've updated the BIOS in the process (v1.50). The system is usable, but when I restart and try and get into the BIOS I just get what looks like a line that is corrupted by the middle of the image and it just stays there.

I tried to re - flash but with the BIOS being the same version it does not.

Also I can't seem to find the wireless drivers - I've tried Realtek, Intel and the Atheros ones and none works. It could be related to the issue of BIOS, but I'm not sure.

Any ideas on how to get either in the BIOS or the fixed wireless?

    Ta!

    > Also, I can't find the wireless drivers - I've tried Realtek, Intel and the Atheros ones and none works. It could be related to the issue of BIOS, but I'm not sure.

You should go to Device Manager and should expand the area of network controller.
If the WLan driver has not been installed, you should see an unknown device or Ethernet card marked with yellow exclamation point.

To get information on the WLan module built in Notepad, you should check the PROVIDER and the DEVICE ID.
With the help of the miniPCI database shouldn't be a big problem to get the driver for this add-on.

    Details CIHI;
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD0302U00000R01.htm

    With regard to the BIOS:
I can't imagine that there is something wrong with the BIOS. In the event that the BIOS update procedure would fail, the laptop would not be usable.

However, BIOS problems are still serious issues and a downgrade of the BIOS can be done by the partner of service only.

The USB 3.0 controller is Intel. But the USB 3.0 Intel driver was available only for Win 7. Since win 8 internal Microsoft USB 3.0 driver is used for all computers/laptops in the world.

I have your case I would test different USB ports as part of different USB devices to check exactly if all devices and ports are affected.
Probably there s no USB port number
Perhaps the problem of compatibility between the new 8.1 Win and external device?

  • Satellite R830 - 10 c fan always run very fast

    Hello

I just erased the hard drive and reinstalled all CD recovery disc. The only additional software that I installed is windows office 2010.

I have read other discussions on the fan and changed the setting to colling under voltage of the battery and I've updated the BIOS. I don't think I have the recognition of the fingerprint software installed only face.

However fan works always very very fast all the time. Processor, which is an i3 2310 @2. 10 GHz, around 30% and 50% of RAM is bieng used approximately 2.04 GB.

IEXPLORER uses more CPU and RAM to all about 02-05 looking at the Task Manager and about 482 000 K memory. I have 92 processes. System Monitor is running the most discussion, 145 under resources. I don't know what this means, but the blue line on the chart of the CPU in the resource manager is always upward at 100% outside the odd dip to 95%.

Anyone with any ideas or solutions, it would be much appreciated!

It is a known issue with McAffe. Remove this preinstalled trial version will reduce CPU activity and automatically cooling fan runs much quieter. I put t know what antvirus you use now but with Avira antivir, you'll be happy.

  • Satellite P70 - A - 07 T 040 - connection to LInksys 1900AC speed

The specification for the P70 - A indicates a transmission speed of 300bps. Have you tried some drivers, but cannot raise the speed of 144 bps to 300bps, although an old PC on our network is automatically adjusted to 300bps when the Linksys has been implemented.

Is there a specific Toshiba driver for this?

    > Lists of the specification for the P70 - has a transmission speed of 300bps

You mean the wireless network and WiFi card?

First of all various satellite P70 - A portable models support different hardware specifications. This means that the different WLan modules were built in the notebooks.

It s I knew not which module Wlan has integrated this unit but its not very difficult to verify. You will find Wlan card details in the Device Manager.

Second, most of the modules supports various standards Wi - Fi 802.11 B/G/N
Each standard supports different connection speed.

    802 11 B 2.4 Ghz supports 1-11Mbit/s
    802.11 G 2.4 Ghz supports 6-54 Mbps
    802.11 N 2.4 Ghz or 5 GHz supports 72-600Mbit/s

But beware: all these values are raw values!

You should first check out what Wlan standard is used by the Wlan module.
This can be checked in the Device Manager-> card Wlan-> properties-> Advanced tab.

I guess that its already set to 802.11 N standard because you've reached 144Mbit/s
So in this case you should also read this Wikipedia article on the 802.11 standards of N:
    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11

802.11n supports two wide channels: 20 MHz and 40 MHz.
    20 MHz supports 144.4 Mbit/s
    40 MHz supports 300 Mbps

  • Satellite P70-A01C in World of Warcraft frame rate is LOW

Bought this laptop a few months as a game machine.

Said he would go to more recent games with little drama, but I have problems with World of Warcraft. Even with a quad core processor, 16 GB of RAM and a 4 GB graphics card I sometimes 9-12 fps.

This is usually when there is a lot of things, like during a raid, but, nevertheless, with these specs this computer must be able to manage. Normally I get around 80-90fps and I get similar on my desktop PC (quad core, 8 GB RAM, 2 GB graphics card).

Suggestions as to how I might solve this problem?
I always have the latest NVIDIA drivers installed and keep all the rest as well up-to-date.

  • Satellite C55 - Has - 1 L 0 does not start in Windows 8

    Hey guys.
I hope you can help me a bit.
    I have a Toshiba Satellite C55 - has - 1 L 0 here and it does not start in Windows 8.

I turn it on, the Toshiba start screen appears, and then I get a message on a black screen saying "media control" (failure) and after a little while "no boot device. Please restart.

I checked the BiOS and it does not see the hard drive (said HARD drive - no) and even in the boot order list, I don't get a list with the DVD drive with the exact name, but for the HARD drive.
I tried to do a recocery with the F12 key and get the list to choosw where I want to start but by selecting the disk hard does not work.

So I thought I'd try a live distribution of linux to see where is my hard drive and back up my data (after some settings in the BIOS - boot CMS mode) but I can't find there too. (I have a file fstab and mtab, it would help if I posted it here?)
Is my HARD drive broken? Can I try something else?

    Thank you very much!

You are right. This issue should be fixed by the authorized service provider.
Furthermore, why do some risk steps to check this problem, if the warranty is valid.
Warranty will cover the repair costs.

  • Satellite M30, screen remains sometimes almost black after start up to several minutes

    Satellite M30, WinXP

Sometimes, the screen remains dark, which means that you can see that a little bit news startup in the background and also the Office of windows, up to 2 minutes before suddenly become really turned on.
Not even the latest version of the BIOS has a change. And what's weird, is it still does not appear. A non stop-and-shut-down-start sequence showed that it appears about 2 to 3 times.
    What could be the reason?

    Hi LeTom,

did you use the os recovery toshiba or a clean install?

It seems that the display shows a fault, then here are a few questions to play safely!

There the failure also occure when the Red Toshiba logo appears shortly after starting start?

If you are using a clean install of the OS, you need to do a complete new installation with the Toshiba Recovery CD (attention all data will be lost, make a backup).
Then, the laptop is set back to the default settings of the software and if the failure occurred, you should check the material by a Toshiba service partner!

I think that the M30 is still under warranty!

  • Problem Bluetooth satellite P70-B-102 - upgrade to Windows 10

    Hello to all forum users.

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite P70-B-102 with the operating system Windows 8.1 in Portuguese.

The problem I have is that I can not upgrade to Windows 10, since, according to the upgrade of Windows application, the computer cannot update the Bluetooth drivers, including the following: Bluetooth RFHID, RFBNEP, RFBUS and RFCOMM.

This situation remains at least a month and a half and I can't update windows to version 10.

Can someone help me solve this problem?

    Thanks for your valuable help!
    Pedro Moura

It's very strange... I think it must be some kind of Windows bug... I recommend you check if all Windows updates and patches are installed.

In addition, the unit is listed as a supported upgrade Win 10 model, so win 10 update should be possible.

    The unit is here: http://win10upgrade.toshiba.com/swup...spx?region=TEG

Win 10 driver can be downloaded and updated from this page:
    http://win10upgrade.Toshiba.com/swup...SPX?region=TEG

but in case the upgrade of Windows 10 using the automatic upgrade procedure does not work, try to improve Windows 10 using the media creation tool

  • Satellite P70-A01D: change the drive letters after the 2nd SSD upgrade

I think it's a generic UEFI / Win 8.1 question (not according to model).

However, FWIW, I have a Satellite P70-A01D (bought locally here in Australia).

    It is a victory of 16 GB 17.3 inch Gen4 i7 4700MQ Intel HM86 8.0 64-bit RAM.
    http://www.MyToshiba.com.au/products/computers/satellite/P70/psplpa-01d002/specifications

I updated the OS to Win 8.1

The P70 is supplied with a drive Bay HARD vacuum #2 - I bought a 250 GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD that I want to use as the main system disk / boot Win 8.1.

I installed this SSD in bays #2 and from there I had no problem using the wizard of Samsun cloning software provided with the SSD (VCC 4.0) to clone my 1 TB on the SSD system.

There are a lot of instructions from Samsun and around the web on how to clone and "substitute" of a HDD with a SSD - however there are much less when it comes to 'Add' the SSD - in the #2 Bay - while always keeping the original HDD fully functional as an additional drive.

After execution of the cloning software, I tried just go into the settings of the UEFI on reboot and change the order of the boot drive placing the SSDS over HARD drive.

It worked but there are obviously questions still as I had not renamed readers SSD worked as system but he was editing as D: and HARD drive was still C: and most of the system/application paths were always scheduled to access C:!

It led to the crash and restart cycles of the Bureau (? & or explorer.exe?) and two consistent error messages:
-"SkyDrive engine Sync host has stopped working".
-"Host for the synchronization setting process has stopped working".

I saw in the Control Panel-Administrative Tools-Computer Management-Online Storage-online-online right click on each drive disk management online online that I can access > however
    (a) I'm not sure if the solution I need is this simple;
    (b) nervous about change of letter on a disk while running the system; and
    (C) uncertain steps in order of evolution [IE. C: (non - sys) becomes M; D: (sys) becomes C:...

At the moment via UEFI I'm back to working with the system on the HARD disk rather than on the SSD seems stable and without compromise of my screwing around!

Apologies for the long post by train to make sure to include all relevant information. I think that my final goal is double win bootable 8.1 / Ubuntu 12.04 of the SSDS probably with Ubuntu on a 50 GB partition leaving 200 GB (enough?). I want to keep a slab of SSD space available for photo and video editing: +/-100 GB!

I wondered simply assign new letters to readers, however the notes at the bottom of http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows7/change-add-or-remove-a-drive-letter state:

You cannot change a drive letter if the drive is a system partition or a boot partition.

    Suggestions please?

    Hello

I think you could try to change the letter to readers as suggested in the Microsoft article.
Where this is not possible, try to use 3rd party such as GParted software.
    http://gparted.org/LiveUSB.php

You could try changing the drive letters might start to the top of the unit using the live USB version.
But it might be possible that your system would not initialize correctly after this change.

So you should not forget to mark the partition as bootable.

    Your comments would be appreciated

  • Satellite A300 - Ticking noise all trying to load

    Hello

Recently my satellite A300 has started to make a quiet ticking / clicking noise when it loads with the laptop battery is running. The noise is coming from the inside of the laptop and if I put the charger "brick" to my ear, I hear a noise inside than in in sync with the sound of ticking.

Battery does not charge while the laptop is running (but clicking on icon battery says plugged in, load), the battery tends to remain some fees his establishment. If I turn off the coast, it will charge up to 100% and for the use of the laptop, then everything using it with 100% load without ticking noise is present.

I guess it's a problem with the distribution of energy within the laptop. Does anyone have experience of this type of problem or suggestions about how I might solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Hey,.

I agree with the user above. It seems to be a problem if t AC adapter, you may notice the problem without adapter.

If you contact an authorized service provider, you can order a new power adapter. An alternative you can ask the technicians if they also say that this problem s adapter an AC or not.

A list of aspic, you can find here:
