  • Just updated to 38.0.5 and now when I right click on a bookmark to edit, the context menu is grayed out and it won't let me. Why?

I read a lot of web comics, so I change the bookmarks for them on a daily basis on the last page on each site. I just tried to do that tonight after you install the 36.0.5 update, now when I right click on the bookmark in the menu, I have yet to get the context menu, but all the options are greyed out. He was most certainly not in this way the last night before the update. That is what it is?

Oops, it's probably the bug to customize. After using customize it, most of the items on the context menu are gray to the bookmarks Menu in the classic menu bar.

It does not affect the button drop-down bookmarks menu *, and it does not affect the bar Favorites (Ctrl + b). And if you launch a new window (Ctrl + n), he works on the menu bar, too. Very strange.

I don't know when this is going to get it fixed but at least you know a few places to access the properties for the moment.

  • 'Right click menu/open in a new window' does not-nothing happens.

When I right click on a link, a menu very long comes with many choices that have nothing to do with the links (like 'copy image'). When I select "open in new window' or 'open in a new tab', nothing happens. I've just updated to the latest version of FF yesterday (08/05/13). I don't have whatever it is personalized for the new facility. Before to install the new everything worked fine.

Hello lindal, this is most likely caused by an outdated addon. one of them is firebug, so in case you have installed, please upgrade to the latest version.

  • Why the function "move to new window" that I used to use does not work when I right click on the tab more?

It was when I right click on the tab in Firefox I could use the option 'Move to the new window'. Now when I go down to this option, it seems it will work, but nothing happens. The other day I changed some options in Firefox, but I don't remember changing anything that sounded as if it would have this effect, and now I can't find all the options that seem to fix. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello Beorn, probably the problem is an extension that is not working properly. Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.

    Thank you

  • Why were the new tab and new window right click menu items reversed for FF3.6 on FF4?

I use Firefox since version 1. When you right-click on a hyperlink, that the first menu item has always been 'open in a new tab' and the second element was "open in a new window' now in Firefox 4, they are reversed and it is a major pain in the rear. I even went and checked Firefox 3.6 on other PCs to ensure that I was not bad, and of course, they are reversed. I checked on Windows XP and 7. I find myself constantly opening new windows instead of tabs. Is it possible to change this in addition to revert to the version 3.6? More stupid idea that someone at Mozilla never had. Change it please go back to the old in 4.1

You can change what is back as with the Menu Editor extension:

I was mysterily losing some of the cookies that I need to connections, etc., but I can't go to advance options to change my cookies.

I made full scans with Norton and Microsoft Security Essentials and not found any malware.

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of your modules is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Modules > themes).

    • Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.

If this does not work in safe mode and then disable all your extensions and then try to find out who is causing by allowing both the problem reappears.

    • Choose "Disable all add-ons" on issues to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode to set window to disable all extensions.
    • Close and restart Firefox after each change through "file > exit ' (Mac: ' Firefox > leave";) Linux: "file > exit ')
  • How to add items to the Windows Explorer right-click menu drop-down?

Sometimes it would be nice to be able to add a shortcut to a program that shows when you right click on a file in Windows Explorer.  Is it possible manually?  And can we remove others that we never use as well by the same method?

You can, to a limited extent.  And it's the registry changes, so I would recommend caution.  There are also a few small programs that change the menu.

    http://vlaurie.com/right-click/Customize-context-menu.html

A simple way, I used is to create shortcuts custom in the SendTo context menu folder.  With which you can perform most any function, such as send a text file to open with MS Word or send any type of image to open it with any number of image viewers.

You can access the SendTo file by entering shell: sendto in the navigation bar of the Explorer, or simply run and the shell: sendto

  • Explorer Windows has stopped working when I right click on the files

When I need to click with the right button on folders, windows Explorer has stopped working.

up to now, still can't use the right click menu ~.

Yes, it's the details of the problem.

Unfortunately, it does not identify the failing module.

At this point, it may be useful to try to capture a dump of user of the explorer.exe crash mode.

You can configure Windows to create dumps of user mode. First, create a System Restore Point.

If you copy and paste the following text in Notepad and save it as a .reg file, then right click on the .reg file and select "Merge" to add to the registry, when the .dmp file explorer.exe plant should be created in the C:\CrashDumps folder:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows error Reporting\LocalDumps\explorer.exe]
    "DumpFolder" = hex (2): 43, 00, 3A, 00, 5 c 00, 43, 00, 72, 00, 61, 00, 73, 00, 68, 00, 44, 00, 75,.
    00, 6 D, 00, 70, 00, 73, 00, 00, 00

After Explorer (explorer.exe) crashes, you can, and then make the .dmp file available (provide the link) via Windows Live SkyDrive or similar site?

    Hello

I suggest you to follow these steps and check if that helps:

    a. right click on the Windows Explorer icon

    b. in the menu that appears, click Properties.

    c. in the target box, add the command line switch ' / root ' to the "% SystemRoot%\Explorer.exe" command, using the startup location that you want.

    d. for example, if you want Explorer of Windows to start at the root of drive C, edit the command as follows:
    % SystemRoot%\explorer.exe/root, C:\

    It will be useful.

    Hello

This occurs if the file desktop.ini in the recent folder is deleted.

    a. Click Start, type "% AppData%\Microsoft\Windows" and press {ENTER}

    b. right click on the folder named recent, then choose Delete. Click Yes when you are prompted.

    c. now, type the command "shell: recent" in the start - menu search box, and then press {ENTER}.

Note: The command above recreates the recent folder, as well as a new desktop.ini file and opens the file.

    d. disconnect and return connection. You should now see the context menu list of recent items clear when you right click on the recent items on the start menu folder.

  • When I right click, right-click menu opens, but is on the left side. How to make it right?

When I right click on the menu, the menu bar drop-down click menu to open correctly, down to the right of the mouse pointer, but the problem I have is that where never otherwise I right-click such as office, for example, menu opens downwards and to the left of the mouse pointer. It is very annoying and I have found no way to change this. It worked very well upward until a week ago. I did not alter the settings by default and even tried the "reset default" option under settings of the mouse, but still did not set. Help, please!

I found the answer to this, and here's how to solve this problem, if anyone else needs it. I think, in the last update, it changed side menu under the Tablet PC settings. Here's how to fix it:

Click Start, type Tablet PC settings

Click on the Tablet PC settings link from the start menu search results

In the Tablet PC Settings dialog box, under handedness, selectleft-handed.

When this option is selected, the context menus appear on your right, which is the default setting. The only exception is that when there is not enough real estate available on the right to display screen context menu, Windows displays the menu on the left hand side automatically.

If you do not know the language overall is English or any other language, you can try this:

Go and account administrator, go to the following location and delete the file FNTCACHE. DAT:

    C:\Windows\System32

Then, restart the PC and check.
