Satellite Pro A200: I want to disable "tap to click".

Hello

I want to disable the "tap to click" on my machine

I tried to go to the settings of the control panel - mouse - device - settings - buttons, but the only choice there is 'enable the buttons' and if you clear the check box that you can not get out.

I put the static status bar in the task bar and if I right click on the option "Tap to Click" is there, but greyed

* Mouse-> last tab-> settings of Synaptics TouchPad device settings *.

In a new window, choose the second option called tapping.
You have to uncheck the option allow eavesdropping.

Good bye

  • Satellite L50-B-1NL - how to disable tap-to-click on the touchpad?

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L50-B-1NL running on Windows 8.1. I am trying to turn off the tap to click on the touchpad, option I think it's way of sensitive causes increased frustration.

I searched on Google and it says there is an option to turn of the touchpad, but when I go in my option to disable settings, it is the only one missing? Is there a way I can turn off the tap to click as it makes me mental.

If I understand you well want to disable touchpad, right.
You can do this using the combination of keys FN + F5 or F5 key only.

Please open the operating manuals and page 58. It you and find information very useful on the use of the F-keys.

If I understand correctly what ask you, you want to upgrade memory of 4 GB laptops.

Well, I think that it s is not possible.
The Satellite Pro A200 supports maximum 2 GB of RAM (2 x 1 GB), then you will not be able to use 2 x 2 GB modules.

  • Where to find info on the Satellite Pro A200 PSAF0A

I have an A200 Satellite (Pro), number PSAF0A - 03M 019 and so far have NOT had the chance to get the info on the site of Toshiba on this machine, it seems lost as Toshiba is concerned.

When you use the menu support it rejects serial number or part of the bottom of the machine and there is NO option for the part number in the drop-down list.

I don't have drivers that I've sorted myself but, I would like to know what BIOS version it is supposed to take, he had originally version 1.20 but my client upgraded to 5.20 and there is no setting in the BIOS to enable the AHCI.

All I want to do is find some info on this machine, but I didn't do anything but run into dead ends with so-called support Toshiba. Any help I can get would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

    > I don't need drivers, I sorted it myself, but I would like to know what BIOS version it is supposed to take.

The newest BIOS is on the page of the Toshiba driver so take a look here
But no one version of BIOS for Satellite Pro A200 or other A200 series contain the AHCI / compatible mode.
The controller is still on AHCI. This can be on that other series laptop.

  • Satellite Pro A200 failing to connect with iphone via wifi hotspot

My apologies if I get some of the jargon wrong, but I'm pretty useless when you want IT emits.

I have a Satellite Pro A200 and had problems connecting to various wifi connections.
The computer could see the wifi connection and connect to it, but I wasn't able to connect to the internet.

The question of the Office was arranged by our IT support guy (security settings on the new router we too complex for my PC or something like that), but he has not been able to solve the problem of not being able to connect to my iphone to use the 'hotspot' via the wifi function.

Someone there knows a way to solve this, or is it a simple fact of the laptop is too old and really need to update?

Thanks for any help that anyone is able to give.

    > Someone know a way to fix this or is it a simple fact of the laptop is too old and really need to update?

This isn't a question of the age of the laptop
As far as I know not that support all mobile operators
You should first ask your mobile operator if you can use the tethering service.

If this would be supported in my mobile operator, then connect the iphone to the laptop first
So that you have two options: you can use the BT connection (in this case check if computer laptop also supports BT) or via a USB cable that came with the iPhone.

(PS: as far I know to attach is supported by iOS3.0 and higher)

After that the iphone was connected to the laptop, you must activate the tethering on iphone.
Under settings of-> network, you should see the option internet tethering it must be enabled.
Now you should be able to see that in the Network & Center sharing control panel.

  • Satellite Pro A200 - shows only 3 GB instead of 4 GB of RAM

    Hello

2 years ago I had a Satellite Pro A200 as a professional laptop and it works with XP SP2, later with SP3. With 2 GB, it shows 2 GB memory in Windows - and I know it's a Radeon 7500 with 256 MB memory graphics individual, and there is no shared memory.

I upgraded to 4 GB, but Windows shows exactly 3 GB. BIOS shows 4 GB and ATI system monitor shows 4 GB. I know that 4 GB is not possible under XP 32-bit, only on Windows 2003 R2 32 bit or Vista - but on desktop systems, I've seen values between 3.3 and 3.7 GB.

So, where's the memory? It looks like a bug - the chips of memory have two 2 GB I checked this. Because it's a company laptop I can not just switch to 64-bit XP :-(

There's no option in the BIOS - first I thought that it is the graphics card, but mine has independent graphics with own memory so that the computer comes up with MB 2048 or 4096 after the upgrade.

Shared memory would show about 1900 MB of RAM for the operating system as my private EEEpc.

    Hi shadowmaster_1,

    > I know that 4 GB is not possible under XP 32 bit
Then why do you ask this question here if you already know? Moreover, it s not a limitation in XP, it s a material limitation on all 32-bit systems

    > only on Windows 2003 R2 32 bit or Vista
And who says that Windows 2003 or Vista can use 4 GB? Okay, there's an update for Vista where 4 GB correct displayed in system properties, but that doesn't make no difference. Vista 32 bit peut t use all of 4GB, it s only cosmetic improvements! ;)

    > So where is memory?
Memory is installed on your computer, but can t be used complelty with a 32 bit OS.

At the end of the story: If you want to use 4 GB, you need to install a 64 bit OS. On all the 32 bit OS, you can use only upward to ~3.2GB RAM!

    Hello

    > I tried to fix the Winsock by using the Microsoft s articles with no luck
I guess you're meaning to this MS article knowledge base:
[How to determine and to recover from Winsock2 corruption in Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, and in Windows Vista: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811259]

Well, I searched a bit around and discovered that the solution described in article 811259 doesn t help in all cases

So searched the Web of the 3rd party site and someone has suggested to try these tips.
    It s also from Microsoft:
    * [How to reset the Protocol Internet (TCP/IP) in Windows XP | http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357] *.

So check it out maybe it helps

If not, then you may be forced to reinstall your operating system, because the repair option is not included in the Toshiba Recovery CD ;(

    Hello world

Lit up power has LED (2nd right) on my satellite pro A200 (PSAE4E-00T004EN) pink solid when it should be blue. It doesn't seem to be any other problems though, just the pink led.

What it means and why it was on solid rose?

I looked in the forum and all other Toshiba and technical sites that I can find, there is no mention of what I see in the manual either, and unfortunately I have not yet found an answer.
I turned off, unplugged and rebooted, but no change.

    Thanks much for any help.

As far as I know, satellite Pro A200 is older model laptop so I want to know is this Rose LED from the first day or what?

  • Satellite PRO A200-1 s 1 with Windows 7 x 32. Touchpad does not work

    Hello world
I installed Windows 7 on my Satellite Pro A200-1 s 1, recovered all the drivers on the Toshiba site, everything works fine (less than the webcam that doesn't work even with the previous s.o. XP or Vista...). But my Touchpad does not work... No Fn + F9, no drivers, nothing works. And in my control, Manager of Panel devices seem to be going well.
    Any suggestion?

    Hello

You reinstall the driver for the touchpad?
    Check it!

Also check if the option disable touchpad when USB mouse is connected is not checked. That are in the control panel-> mouse-> device settings

  • Satellite Pro A200-16N: can I use the recovery CD after upgrade to Vista

    HII!

IM thinking of upgrading to windows vista on my Satellite Pro A200-16N and I ran the pre-upgrade of windows vista from microsoft website and it says that my system will be in charge of windows vista so im ok about it.

The problem is that if my laptop was to break or something like that at some point, will my recovery CD provided by toshiba to work always on the laptop with windows vista?
They will return the laptop for windows xp or from my laptop has another operating system they will not work?

    Also...
    What's the deal with BIOS? : S
    I don't understand!
If I were to upgrade to windows vista should I upgrade my BIOS before or after the upgrade to vista?
As I download the new drivers before upgrading Yes?

    Thank you!

The restore CD will of course work.
The recovery CD will always set the laptop back to the factory settings. This means that the whole HARD drive will be formatted and the image of Toshiba will be installed.

    > What's the deal with BIOS? I put t understand!
    > If I were to upgrade to windows vista should I upgrade my BIOS before or after the upgrade to vista?
To my knowledge, that this laptop was already shipped with Vista, so you need not update the BIOS if you want to reinstall Vista.

Some series Satellite A200 needs a BIOS update if you want to use the XP.
In such cases, it s advisable to upgrade the BIOS to version XP first, then install OS X.

  • Satellite Pro A200 hangs completely, I have to close by switch

    Hello

I got the Satellite Pro A200 (PSAE4E) for 19 months with absolutely no problem. Recently, I noticed that it crashes all of a sudden without any warning whatsoever. I have to resort to the closure of the power switch, which I hate to do. It opens normally again without giving any other major error msg that the first unexpected shutdown has occurred.

What worries me is that it continues to be again and again. I did the built-in diagnostic test and it showed the FAILURE on the NETWORK. Rest of the things passed including HARD DRIVE, memory, cpu, etc. In the Device Manager section, there is a yellow triangle card 6TO4 and isatap. {....}. I wonder if this is the problem or is it more sinister problem with my pc.

Any help on this would be sincerely appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

AFAIK the 6to4 adapter has something to do with the TCP/IP version 6 protocol.
You can check network properties if TCP/IP v6 is enabled (checked).
If it s not checked then check it in.

Otherwise, you can try to uninstall this card in the Device Manager and disable the TCP/IP v6 in network properties.

But to be honest I put t know if this 6 TCP/IP issues has something to do with the breaking of low BONE
In the worst case, you could recover the unit to check if the same thing would happen with a clean operating system.

  • Satellite Pro A200 - 1 MI - need driver for PCI memory controller

I have the Toshiba Satellite Pro A200-1 MI (PSAE7E) having a problem with the PCI memory controller on my laptop.
When I go to Device Manager it shows the question mark in the tab other devices and when I go, it is yellow? (question mark) and! (typical brand) to the PCI memory controller. I took and downloaded all the drivers of your site:

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

for XP, but I'm not sure what kind of driver do I need to install for PCI controller memory, it is driver bios or something else? I just need to know what to install to overcome this problem with my device manager and the PCI memory controller.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello akibono

I imagine that you have installed Windows XP Home clean on your laptop and now you want to install all the drivers, tools and utilities. Am I right about that?

In any case, after the installation of Windows XP Home edition you install all the drivers, tools and utilities in the order of the specific facilities. After doing this, everything should be OK and every hardware component will be correctly configured.
Please install all the stuff as follows:
    WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION
    Driver Chipset
    Display driver
    Audio driver
    Driver modem
    Storage Manager
    LAN driver
    Touchpad driver
    WLAN driver
    Toshiba Assist
    Flash Media driver
    Driver webcam
    Hardware configuration
    Controls
    And so on

I hope that everything will be OK.

  • Are XP drivers before buying the Satellite Pro A200

    Hello

I am trying to take a decision on which laptop Toshiba buy. One of the things I want to do is load XP on a partition. I'm trying so to ensure that the model that I buy, has XP drivers available. I am looking at a number of Satellite Pro A200 and one or two of P200. The problem is - on the Toshiba site, you get in the drivers and you section A200, but it doesn't give you a model number, e.g. 1YY or 1EE. So, how can I know whether or not the model that I am looking to buy has drivers available.

Also, drivers seem all to be there. For example, the drivers for the modem are available for a whole country, for Vista, but not for XP. But XP is available for most of the components. On some models, I don't see a driver for XP listed for the DVD player.

Help, please! How can I make sure that I don't end up with the model where I can't load XP?

    Hello

The European driver Toshiba page provides the drivers for the laptop only computer series and not for single units.
This means that you should check the Satellite A200 series if you need no drivers (XP or Vista).
If you need the serial number, then google for Satellite Pro A200 - 1YY and you should get several hits providing a PSAE4E-xxxxx number.

    > Please help! How can I make sure that I don't end up with the model where I can't load XP?
Is that not all the XP drivers are available for all series of laptops.
In the worst case, you will need to find the XP drivers XP drivers compatible chip manufacturing sites and 3 third-party sites.

But in most cases, all current XP drivers are published on the page of the driver.

  • Weird noise on Satellite Pro A200

    Hello

I [Toshiba Satellite Pro A200 | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/jsp/productPage.do?service=EU&PRODUCT_ID=137003] a few months and my hard drive makes strange noises, those in the next few days! Looks that scream for a period of about 3 seconds and it is very very strong and sometimes randomly.

I'm not really sure it's HARD drive (because I have never heard of this kind of sounds from the HARD drive)... or maybe its cooler? I do not know...
I think I know how hard disk sounds when his old or dying but it isn't like that, without humility, not by clicking on, no constant noise...

I had no errors or similar messages, everything works perfectly and silently, no problem at all, but that his self is panic.

    Someone has an idea?

    Thank you very much

I suggest you to visit some partner service or repair shop, because these sounds are no good signs. Maybe your hard drive kiss you goodbye and you will lose your important data?

Who knows, just send your machine or visit a few techie and let check your system on some coming hardware failures.

If you want to send your machine to an authorized service partner, see [THIS | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_whitepaper.jsp?service=EU&WHITEPAPER_ID=0 000000871] link out.

This unit is 3 months old Satellite Pro A200 XP Pro.

Used cell phone Sunday noon and set a system restore before installing a few applications. I can get to the Bios.
I also used the disc of recovery as a last resort. I'm on vacation a week today and if all goes well with the laptop.

    deejaydee

You said you used the recovery CD? Well, I guess that you were not able to boot from them. Or I m wrong?

Usually, you should try to boot from the CD bootable recovery CD, Win XP/Vista CD or CD of Linux. This could allows to check if a hardware problem exists.

If you want to boot from the CD, I would recommend pressing the C key immediately after starting the laptop. This should allow booting from the CD/DVD drive.
However, you can also try the F12 key. This allows the Boot Manager where you could choose the STRANGE.
