Satellite S70-B-118 - graphic shifts everything in game

Hello world

I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite S70-B-118 and have some problems with my graphics.

I have 2 cards in it, one for the power saving mode and the other for games (amd radeon r9 m265x).

Portable zhe should actually automatically use amd when im playing games, but I feel that this does not work because I can't yet play fifa 15 without offset...

Battle field 4 runs on graphics card down with about 40 fps only... is the amd radeon r9 really bad m265x or dynamic graphics work correctly?

I am extremely frustrated because I really waited more than a laptop that costs about 1000...

best regards and thanks for the help :)

The laptop supports two graphic cards.
Part internal GPU processor Intel and AMD Radeon R9 M265X is a unit of external graphics card

To switch to the external GPU, right click on the desktop
In Catalyst Control Center Power, click on select Maximum Performance when it is plugged

Then in global settings of Switchable Graphics also choose maximize Performance

Then click on the switchable graphics Application settings
Now, you would be able to add an app (game) that could use this graphics card settings
Simply tap the exe of the game and add to the list of applications.
After that, you will see the exe file in the list. Click the graphics settings and set it to high performance.

    Hello

on my new s70-b-117, I can't start my steam games.
I downloaded HL2 and Portal 2, Lost Coast, but when my switch able graphic option is enabled performace max (the m265x should go) I can only see the title with options screen but I can't click anything! and the screen seems to freeze.

With the help of my internal HD 4600 (settings on the 'max battery') these games work.

My drivers are up to date.

I'll test other games when they are downloaded.

    Hello

I have a laptop Satellite A300-15 b, but in Windows 7, I have a problem with the graphics in some game.
Not much true game problem requiring a cut, I don't know what the problem is, I tried the latest drivers, but the problem is always the same.

    Hello

Personally, I don't play game at all. About your problem, maybe you need to install x 11 Direct:

Check if the version of counter-strike you are playing is compatible with Windows 7,

  • Chrashes S70-B-118 satellite all at stake

    Hello
I bought my Satellite S70-B-118 in September last year. I've still guaranteed, including the pick-up & return.
When I play a little more demanding games (GTA V or WoT) the laptop crashes after a while. Like 20 min. Every time! I Don t have the problem with low graphic games. So maybe the laptop is overheating? It is not a bluescreencrash or a mistake... the computer laptop lights out. * Click * and everything is black.

So what to do? It is impossible that I have to cool it with a tampon or something like that... Laptop is on smooth surface...

    Thank you for your help

    H. Zeuschner

I also think that your machine has reached the critical temperature. I suppose that you run your laptop on the food, right?
Before you start the game, close all unnecessary applications and processes in the background, change the power to 'high performance' profile and also check advanced power options. Remember that the cooling method is set to "maximum performance".

What you can also try is to put next to your laptop a little higher. Maybe on two CD boxes, just to make more space between the laptop and desktop that allow better air circulation.

  • S70-B-118 - Minecraft satellite does not work

    Hello

I have just just bought my son a laptop toshiba for his birthday as he wants to use it for playing minecraft, and when we load the program keeps crashing

Sadley we are not pros pc if little help would be great the problem.
This is what happens. The prices we have reloaded the program on the laptop re how never sound still has problems.

    # Java VM: Java hotspot 64-bit Server VM (25.25 - b02 mixed mode windows-amd64 compressed oops)
    # Problematic frame:
    # C [ig75icd64.dll + 0x6bb23]
    # Write core dump failed. Minidumps are not enabled by default on client versions of Windows

I guess that is not the problem of the laptop but there must be a problem of configuration of the game.
In many games different cases (probably Minecraft too) do not work because of graphic card driver compatibility issues.

This can be corrected by upgrading the graphics card driver.

The Satellite S70-B-118 laptop supports two graphic cards:
An external GPU: AMD Radeon R9 M265X
and an internal Intel Graphics HD 4600

In the case of the classic game to access the graphics card Intel HD 4600, I recommend you to install the graphics driver Intel page from Intel that contain the OpenGL:
    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Dow...7-8-8-1-64-bit

You must choose the zip package: file name: win64_153619.zip
After downloading, unzip the package and then go to Device Manager, choose graphics card Intel, set to date.
Now you need to choose the "Advanced Installation" procedure This will allow you to point to the unzipped folder on the Intel driver and finally update the driver.
The notebook can also restart after the update.

Note: this issue seems to be a particular classic gambling problem. This is why it is advisable to search for more details and the support of workarounds on classic Web site

I hope this helps to get it fixed

  • Re: Satellite S70 - B - bad ATI graphics card

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba Satellite S70 - B with an AMD Radeon R9 M265X.
I installed all the updates but it's now called "AMD Radeon HD 8800 M Series", it is exactly this problem:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB4903N60000R01.htm

But the solution is to update the divers, that's already what I did... so what can I do?
I tried to uninstall, reboot, reinstall the different versions and so on... I'm totally lost now :'(

And now I do not see the option appears when you left-click on the desktop to access the interface of catalyst or select the graphics card to use according to the programme (to use the radeon in the game and not the intel HD).

An idea to make everything back to normal?

I m not very well if the solution might be the same, because your laptop is different.
    It s S70 - B Satellite

By the way: what Satellite S70-B-xxx you exactly and what version of driver AMD have you installed.

The Toshiba UE driver page provides different versions of the AMD drivers!

However, I recommend you to repeat the solution posted in Toshiba document.
First uninstall the driver from Device Manager graphics card.
Download the latest version (according to the system of windows), and then install again.

Here is the list of the available GPU drivers:
    [AMD GPU drivers: http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?action=search&selCategor y = 2 & selFamily = 2 & selSeries = 365 & selProduct = 17894 & salt ShortMod = null & selType = 11]

  • Satellite S70 - B - graphic driver blocks using photoshop

    Hello

I bought my toshiba satellite s70 - b less than a month ago, but it's happened a few times, while using photoshop graphic processor, stops working and one of the people pop up at the bottom of the screen of messages indicates that the graphics processor has been reactiveted.

Whenever this happens, I lose all my files on photoshop and it's really annoying.

I tried to update the drivers of two graphics processors, but nothing has changed.
I have an AMD R9 m265x graphic processor and Intel (r) graphics radeon hd 4600.

How can I solve the problem?

I think to give back the laptop.

    The question is:
What graphics card driver crashes when you use Photoshop?

As you said: the laptop was equipped with a graphics card AMD/ATI external and other Intel HD GPU internal done part of the CPU.
Since the application Photoshop needs a lot of graphics performance (photo editor), I recommend you check out the graphical configuration. Photoshop must use the ATI GPU instead of Intel.

    How to do this?
This can be changed in the settings of ATI catalyst. This YouTube clip could be interesting... It shows you how to switch to the ATI GPU and get better performance.

  • Noisy fan on Satellite S70-B-10Z

    Hello

I have a problem with my satellite S70-B-10Z.
The laptop is not so cool in recent months as it used to be. In fact is getting really hot on the right side of the keyboard. There is also a noise coming from the fan. I checked the tha fan speed and when I have the only window Chrome (or any other window browser) active he actually reached 82% of the speed of the fan and remains constant. I've updated everything (bios, graphics card intel, amd, graphics etc.) and managed to reduce the heat a little and now the fan speed has reached 82% sometimes, but not continuously. However, this continues to happen very often.

Is this normal? Is there a problem with the fan?

I should mention that I sent to the support toshiba here in Greece and they told me that they cleaned but the problem still after that.

I had the same problem. I opened the back and I replaced my fan. I also noticed that she had a lot of dust in the fan.

  • FIFA11 does not work using the ATI GPU on Satellite S70 - B

I have a portable Satellite S70 - B. with amd fifa 11 video card does not work, but with the video card intel it works.
    Why?

Despite the solution/solution posted by above user, an update of the graphics card driver could also be an option for you to my knowledge, that a lot of games does not start because of the incompatibility between the game and the graphics card driver

  • Satellite E105 - Allocation of graphics memory

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite E105-S1402. I recently bought Starcraft 2 and my laptop has almost always slows down the game. I guess that's a problem graphic since everything else on the laptop exceeds the minimum requirements. I thought to increase memory dedicated to graphics card but I don't know how to do it. Can anyone help?

I discovered that, by right-clicking on the desktop (Vista OS) > personalization > display properties > advanced settings, I see the following:

128 MB dedicated video memory. I guess that's the figure I must increase, but I don't know how to do it. Can anyone help.

    Kind regards
    Jarlaxle

    Hello

According to specification for laptop, your laptop has Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD with 128 MB - 1342 MB dynamically allocated shared graphics memory. This cards don t have some sort of control of memory where laptop user can set how much memory will be used for graphical operations.

If you want to offer more memory for the graphics, you need to upgrade RAM but I think that 4 GB of RAM you should have now is maximum RAM that can be used on your model of laptop.

  • Leakage of electricity in case of external HARD drive and Satellite S70 metal surface

    Hello
    I have a toshiba Satellite S70-B-10Z laptop.

I use the following external box.
    https://www.Ms-tech.de/eng/index.php/product/detail/PDCI...
The case uses AC adapter DC 12V.
    the outer shell sprayed PIN.

When I use it, I feel in the surface, static electricity, a spark but something like friction.
The same feeling is on the metal surface of my laptop, when the case of HDD is connected via interface USB3.

    A portable Earth pin?
Portable computer AC adapter is model: PA5181E-1AC3 part no.:PA - 1121-60
Card verification, I think that it is not based... that the pin adapter that is plugged into the laptop looks like bipolar...

    What is your suggestions?
Is there a risk for my laptop?

Is no danger to the laptop and the use of the laptop.
These symptoms may appear due to the electrical contact.
As mentioned by other members, these occurs because of the capacitive coupling in the diet by peripheral isolation connected to the power outlet.

You can solve this by using a power adapter 3 pins.
