Satellite T130 - can I use a SSD?

Is it posible to use SSDdisk in the Toshiba Satellite T130-K?

Hello

Theoretically, it should be possible to use an SSD in your laptop. I put t not see why it should not work.

I mean SSD also have interface SATA as normal hard drives, but only the technology is different. So you can try it and then post your result here. I am interested in. :)

  • For the installation of the satellite P850-30W system - can I use a SSD

    Hi all!

Telephone tech support couldn't give me an answear good so I try my luck on this forum instead.
I just bought a Toshiba Satellite P850 30W and what I understand there is a m-sata port available.

My question is: is it possible to put for example a CRUCIAL RealSSD M4 SSD 128 GB mSATA in this machine, install W7 on it and use it as a OS disk? and use the 2.5-inch slow for storage disk.

I don't want to buy a new sata m before I know it is doable, I would also like to know the best and easiest to do this, seen a lot of different approaches in different forums.

IF I install w7 on the m-sata drive can I use the series key provided with the preinstalled windows or what I call MS?

Thanks in advance for your help :)

    Hello

The P850 Satellite supports the common SATA controller.
You can use a common SSD 2.5 drive, that support the SATA interface.

  • Satellite P750 - can I use HDD of Satellite P770?

    Hallo,

I have a Satellite P750-10 t and im looking for a new HARD drive but I don't know what HARD drive I can take.
I found a disk for Satellite P770-12 t and I need to know if I can take it HARD too.

There is not much difference between these drives, maybe just ability but you can use it on your Satellite P750. As far as I know both of them are hard drives with SATA connector.

By the way: If you need a new HARD drive maybe you should think about upgrading with SSD. I can recommend you to do. use of SSD will increase the performance of your laptop and your computer laptop wil run a lot faster.

If you have time to look for info on the SSD on http://storage.toshiba.eu/cms/en/index.html

  • Satellite L40: Can I use Toshiba DVD to install Vista on a new HARD drive

    Hi people,

I'm new to this forum... I don't know that there, can someone advise me.
I replace my Satellite L40 HDD with a bigger drive, the current is only 80Gig.

And my question is, can I use my Toshiba recovery Disc to reinstall Vista on the new HARD drive, or is it a hidden partition on the original HARD drive?
If someone has done this, would appreciate an idiots guide to doing the same thing.

    Cheerzzzzzzzzzzz...

    Dave

Of course you can do it.
The DVD of Vista recovery Toshiba help you install Vista, all the drivers Toshiba and tools, and it automatically creates all the partitions.

So what you have to do is to boot from the recovery DVD and follow the instructions on-screen ;)

  • No Bluetooth on Satellite T130 - can I put internal module?

I have a portable Satellite T130 without Bluetooth.
Is it possible to built in Bluetooth module, or something? I'm not a cause of USB adapter I need all the USB ports.
    Thank you

    Hello

There are different models with different hardware specifications
Maybe your T130 does not support internal BT module
But normally there should be a PCI interface which should allows you to use an internal module but for more details, you should ask the Toshiba ASP in your country.

The point is that laptop disassembly will void your warranty and I think that it of better to pay a small fee for an upgrade, but to keep the warranty valid

  • Satellite C660 - can I use own Win7 without Toshiba bloatware?

    Hey,.

So basically I have a Satellite C660 and it came with an iso on the D drive. So, whenever I need to clean my system I use the iso of the d drive and it will be like new again. However I hate all this toshiba bloatware, that settles and all the other stupid stuff, so I was wondering if I have a disc of windows 7 and as started the laptop from the drive and installed windows 7 from her without all the stupid stuff, everything would still work as usual? or what?

    Thank you.

In General, you can do with your computer laptop all you want, and nobody don't require you to use preinstalled stuff. You can install Win7 clean version and if you install all the necessary drivers it works without any problem.

Please note: for this own Win7 version you must have a valid license for the product activation and before starting the installation create recovery for recovery image back-up DVDs. After installing Win7, you will not be able to start the installation of HARD drive recovery image.

What I do and can also recommend to you and all other people, is the optimization of operating system pre-installed. Use original Win7 but remove things you don't need. After doing this you will have original, activated the OS that will run more quickly and without unnecessary stuff.

  • Since another laptop Toshiba Satellite L300 - can I use Recovery CD?

    Hello

    I can't get a computer to load Vista (Equium l300 (I think).
Ubuntu loads very well (I have a linux partition 8 GB, with GRUB installed in a separate partition), but when I try to load vista I get "to go". "and nothing happens.

I tried HDDRecovery by pressing '0' or 'F8', but this gave me a check disk for errors and nothing more.
I always have a backup of HARD drive recovery in another partition, but I know not where to place them, can you tell me where?

Then I discovered that I have a wife satellite toshiba recovery disc.

I can use it to recover the satellite or it will remove a real installation of Vista, put a 'pirate' new copy in its place?
If I can't do that, can someone tell me where to place the folder HDDRecovery image?

In General, Toshiba create materials recovery and images of recovery for each laptop model separately.
Each laptop model has different hardware and recovery images are not the same.
Before the start of recovery it will be checked if the recovery image belongs to some portable computers. If the identification is not just installation of recovery is interrupted.

One last thing. If you have changed the structure of the partitions or installed some other OS, you will not be able to use the recovery saved on the HARD disk image.
It is bad enough that you have ignored the reminder of recovery with clear instructions on creating recovery DVDs.

    Here is the original post:
    Important INFORMATION

your system is equipped with a hard drive recovery system. If you need to repair

hard disk (press F8 when you start your computer, choose "Repair your computer"

Toshiba recommends you create recovery disk medium using the "Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator"
to ensure that you are able to restore your computer to the original factory, installed state
even if your computer is seriously damaged.

  • Can I use mSATA SSD with E120?

It's my first day here and I am here you ask for your help.

I have an E120 (3043-RV1; those with Pentium 967 inside) and I want to know if I can use WWAN slot to install an mSATA SSD or not.
In fact, I spoke with a Lenovo technician on the phone today and he said "It is available" and in fact, he proved E320 to work.
However, I found someone thread in another forum, that showed me that the person has no function Nocti OCZ 64 GB in sound.
This uncertainty makes me hesitate to buy an mSATA SSD (I'll buy MyDigitalSSD from abroad).

Could someone please help me figure it out?

It's actually the opposite, if E120 does not mention the mSATA function, then it is not there. and I don't see all the documents mention the mSATA feature the E120.

  • Satellite A200: Can I use the recovery disc without wiping the drive

I read the threads on this forum, but I did not come with an exact answer to my problem.

With my regular PC, I got a disc of Installation of Vista, which is also a recovery disk (like that could do with XP). One of the most useful things is that when you start from the disc you have an option to "fix" the system, which means that all the vital files (such as the bootloader...) will be restored, but otherwise all data will remain. This is extremely important when for example you install a dual boot with Linux, when often Vista refuses to start and to repair the boot loader has solved the problem. Of course it can easily and quickly fix all kinds of other problems in the system as well.

My laptop Toshiba A200 (otherwise a wonderful machine), came with the Toshiba product recovery disc. From everything I read on the forum and what he says on the disc itself, I understand that it only allows a total reinstallation of the system, set at the factory, wiping your drive and everything on it.

Toshiba really leaves us without a 'repair' option '?
I find that quite amazing, because after all, I paid for the Vista operating system, so why shouldn't I get the options I would have if I had an original Vista disc?

If all the above I have is right, it means that if I want to install a dual boot with Ubuntu and would get a bootloader problem, I loose all my data when I have to repair the boot loader? (A problem which, with the option 'fix', takes only 5 minutes to fix!).

I would like to hear reactions, solutions, suggestions or alternatives.

    Thanks in advance,
    Yossi Beck

    Hey Yossi

I think you have misunderstood something!

You received with the image of Toshiba Toshiba Recovery CD! The image contains drivers Vista OS, Toshiba, tools, utilities, and additional programs!

Please don't compare this disc for the original CD of Microsoft Vista and don t mix it!

So using this disk, you can set the laptop back to factory settings!
This is very useful because this procedure takes about 10 minutes only and you get everything functioning OS with all the drivers, tools, etc.

Please note that no all users and customers who buy these phones are technicians and scientists ;) but simply newbie and such possibility of recovery is always welcome!

but the use of this recovery CD format the whole HARD drive and erases all partitions.
That is why it s advisable to back up the data before using the recovery CD/DVDs

  • Re: Satellite T130 - can I run 32-bit Client VPN on Windows 64-bit?

Just got my T130 yesterday but unfortunately realized, it is a machine that is 64-bit and all my corporate apps like VPN Client 32-bit (like all our Office Tools). Is it possible to run 32-bit on this platop mode please... ?

    Thank you for your support.

    Hello

I agree with the user above. According to your VPN software it will maybe work on 64 bit OS because it s also able to handle 32-bit programs normally

In your case I would try to install the software and then you can give us feedback: how it works. It would be interesting, and I think for other users. :)

    Good luck!

and now, Windows 7 Home Premium has been installed (originally my OS is Windows Vista).

HDD of 80 GB + 500 GB external support
    WINDOWS 7 Edition Home Premium
    1.6 GHz FREQ.

    Hello

Have you installed the driver Wlan?
The wireless network adapter is visible in device-> network cards Manager?
    Check it!

In addition it s interesting to know if you are able to activate the WLan using FN + F8?
If you will not be able to do so, you must install VAP (value added package) and Flash memory card Support utility.

  • Satellite P100 - can I use more powerful processors?

I have model P100-324 with Core 2 Duo T7400 2, 16GHz and wonder what more powerful CPU, I can install in my notebook.

T7400 uses bus 667 MHz. As says P945 datasheet, this chipset supports 800 and 1066 bus MHz as well. So in theory, we can install more powerful processors, of cource, no more than does not 35-40Watts TDP. But the BIOS of the P100 can become a bottleneck, not allowing to work with the series T7600, T7800 CPU t8xxx or.

So, what more powerful processors are known to work with P100?

    Hey Buddy,

Short and crisp: there is no support or sheets of more powerful processors because this isn t upgrade supported taken:
