Satellite U300 simply stopped working - the LED blinks

I've had enough of Toshiba laptops, it's the second laptop that gave up the ghost.
My U300 is just more than a year in February, he just went dead on me.
It was a minute and turns off the next day.

The problems are that the screen takes about 20 minutes to switch from black to white and the towers of the real machine on and outside.
The little blue lights come on and out.

I have no idea why this is happening because I did not fell or banged the laptop.
Toshiba wants to pay me for the repair, but I'm fighting it. I hope you guys can help.

In addition, if you can can you please explain in simple terms I'm absolutly rubbish with computers.

Thank you

Two in a row? It is very unfortunate. Ive had three laptops from Toshiba and they have been a lot of work, with the exception of a disc HARD crushed, but that was my fault because I dropped something heavy on the Palm, that it was written to a file (oops!).

Spare parts of RAM (system memory) can sometimes strange problems, especially the cheaper brands. And some models start only if there is RAM in Slot A (depending on the type of chipset Intel).

Do you know if the extra RAM was installed on your laptop? If you unscrew the cover of the memory off base, you can access the RAM Modules. If there are two Modules, try to remove one of the Modules, reboot the laptop. If this does not work, try the other Module and also try another location of the RAM.

If you are not confident to play with the RAM, you must send the laptop to an ASP.

  • my iphone 6 more simply stopped working and no solution yet

Today my iphone 6 it simply stopped working today.  I have tried every fix posted to solve this and nothing.  Held the House and buttons on/standby for 10 seconds, then press /wake of sleep for 3 seconds before also hold the home - plugged button on the computer and I tried to restore using itunes - all without success.  It will literally stop just with 42% charge left on it.  What would you recommend?  My phone is important for my work. Just get a new one?

    Try recovery Mode:

Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes.

When your device is connected, force restart it: press and hold the sleep/wake and home for at least 10 seconds, and only release when you see the Apple logo.

Keep now until see you the recovery mode screen and wait that he eat.

You may need to do the above, more than once as recovery mode is difficult to enter.

Restore first as New and test. Then restore backup if you wish. If the backup is corrupt it will probably bring back the question.

If the steps above do not help, you may need to consider at an Apple store for testing.

  • Satellite Pro L500 - stops when the power cord removed

Toshiba Satellite Pro L500 stops when the power cord is removed even with the battery to 100%. I removed the battery and all the indications associated with battery answer correctly. For example turns off, Toshiba Health Monitor also indicates when the battery is removed. If installed Health monitor indicates that the battery is at 100%.

Someone please help. I have not installed anything new.

    Hey,.

For me, the matter is clear: the battery can't hold a charge so the laptop will be shut down because it has no power.

I think you need to replace the battery with a new one and you can get a provider of service authorized in your country. Simply contact the guy and ask that they can tell you how much it would cost.

You can find a list of all FSA here:

Is it a problem of laptop computer profile, a hardware problem or a problem with the BIOS of the laptop?

    * This laptop has never been joined to a network environment. Only been used by one person for use at home or school.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

It's strange, but you should try to reinstall the laptop with the Toshiba recovery disc.

Maybe you should first check the Toshiba website for a new driver and BIOS:

  • Satellite A60 - sound stopped working

Satellite A60 - sound stopped working. Download driver toshiba web site - click on the sound icon's new sound update and it worked, but disappeared whenever I restarted.

Clicked the icon of installshield and starts to install, but then an error message saying 0 x 80040303, unknown error, the Setup program ends - this happens every time.

Tried to download any other updates, but he says that I register my cell phone, I'm sure I did and doesn't let me do once again because it is more than 6 months.

    Help!

    Hello

Try to restore the operating system to an earlier time when everything works well. On this path, it is not easy to say why this is happening. Try also to remove sound card since the Device Manager, and then restart the device.

All the drivers for your device, you can find on Toshiba download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

  • Acrobat 6 Pro - simply stopped working!

My Acrobat 6 Pro software has simply stopped working a few days ago which means I click the icon, the Welcome screen appears and then everything freezes.

I tried power on / off a couple of times and closing everything down. Then I did a uninstall reinstall of my original disc. Nothing happens. In desperation, I downloaded the free software Acrobat reader, but of course, this is only useful for reading PDF files.

A technical friend suggested that this could be caused by a conflict with one of auto it updated Windows (which, of course, is too late to do anything now). He also said that when I uninstalled using the Windows Control Panel, he could not have really cleaned all of the existing Acrobat files and only so I could try to find a program that performs this function.

    Helpppppppppppppppp!

I suggest that you try a repair on Acrobat (Control Panel > add and remove programs). If MS missed something, the repair can repair.

It kept freezing, then nothing. So I kill disked the HARD drive and tried to re - install Windows (XP).
During the installation, he threw a message that some internal components had been installed incorrectly and has to be reinstalled.
I was told to remove the memory cards and reposition the.

It does not work. I thought that maybe the HARD drive was damaged, so I set up a new and started to reinstall Windows.
Once again, same message. One of my colleagues at work suggested that the motherboard was probably U/S.

So I've been trawling .net to find a replacement. Laptop computer out of warranty! I am told that some other mothers numbered series will work with this laptop. I really want to get a motherboard to find sound never go to work! My unit has a number of SPS to: V000138330.

    Hello Andy

Sorry, but can you tell us more about your laptop? What model do you have exactly (L300-xxx)?
    You have the European model?
At your warranty valid for laptop?
Maybe I've misunderstood something, but why you want to swap motherboard if the warranty is probably still valid?

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    2. when exactly you get this error?

I suggest you try to reset to a new start Indexing Options by removing and then rebuild the index and check if it helps.
Your search index requires virtually no maintenance. However, if the index looking for files that you know problems must be in a location indexed; You may have to re-create the index.

    To rebuild the index:

    a. open indexing and Search Options by clicking the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking Indexing Options.

    b. click Advanced Options, click the index settings tab and then click on rebuild. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  • Re: Satellite A300-19 t has suddenly stopped working (power led is off)

    Hello

I have a 19 t A300 Toshiba, model PSAJ4E that I have used for more than 1 year and a half. Yesterday, I just started, started to work for 5 min and all of a sudden it has stopped working and remained silent. I'm not through the shutdown process or whatever it is a software based process, just a hard stop. I don't even have the led power indicator. I figured that the power being the issue, brick took and plugged into another laptop and was good (the power led came). This is definitley on my laptop.

So I am writing to ask you guys: what can cause the power light on my laptop, not to turn on, when I plug the DC Jack? Is this something on my laptop the charging circuit? What is the motherboard I need to change? How can I get a better diagnosis? I got this entire manual to solve my problem? My goal is to find out exactly what happened.

In addition, I have the skills to apply basic manual procedures. I am able to disassemble my laptop (down to the motherboard) and refit it.

    Thank you!

    Ilyes Gouta.

    Hello

It looks like the power supply electronic breakdown which is part of the motherboard. I don't think you can fix it yourself, in most cases, replace the whole motherboard.

  • Satellite Pro L10 will not start - the LED blinks

I have a pro l10 phone which, after sutting down as battery not return to life. All I get is 8 flashes on battery led when the button is pressed. It's the same area only, battery only or both.

    It sounds bad
Generally, the laptop LED flashes as there might be a hardware malfunction.
The LED provide a microcode and the technician can read this code.
A common user is not able to read. OK maybe you can read it, but you will not find any description about the meaning of the code.
That is why it s a good idea to contact the technician in your country

But as a first step, try this:
Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter.
Wait 20 - 30 minutes and then plug in the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

  • Satellite A105 shift stop working after BIOS update

I have a stack of boards of laptop of the A105 (Intel chipset) series that I received with the wrong BIOS. Both worked, and I updated the BIOS on them to solve CPU compatibility issues. After that, the shift keys stopped working and pressing Shift-A causes the power led to decrease in intensity. Return to ANY BIOS version, either by the Windows, CD or floppy disk of crisis recovery program (magic key is 'F', not 'B', 'Esc' or 'U'), does not solve the problem of the keyboard.

To make things more confusing, I've noticed that single BIOS one that actually seems to correct the problem is version 1.50, which I have not seen available for any Tecra A7 or Satellite A100/A105, with the exception of a few 100, but the BIOS file is too small and cannot be loaded.

Anyone has an idea why these cards Intel processor do that? Or did someone knows where I can get a usable version of BIOS 1.50?

In the interest of this post, please consider my high level of competence. (In other words, I would be grateful for the people trying to help 'Replace the keyboard', but I have about a dozen keyboards, that everything I tried, and all work on other laptops. In addition, if you have just a theoretical solution, I'm certainly open to hearing. In addition, if a Toshiba tech would answer, I really appreciate it!)

An update, it seems that the laptop from a different manufacture series show almost the same problem. There are certainly similarities of BIOS, since these Toshiba use the magic key to Fujitsu to trigger the block to start recovery from the crisis. I guess it's very likely that this problem is specifically a problem of Phoenix BIOS.

  • Satellite A200 completely stop working

    Hello!

I have a big problem: I have this 2 years computer laptop satellite A200 myself and last month, he began to stop working when I run an application, he simply spend some time and I can't move the pointer of the same mouse the keyboard and the current application were all stop working for almost an hour.

So what I did is to hold the button walk / stop and after a few seconds, I did it again. Last week several same problem and same thing, I did, but now he began to black from the LCD screen and sometimes all could start. Thinking that the problem is on the BONE I changed from VISTA to XP, but then the same problem occurs.

Please help a lot me... thanks and Goodbless.

You will not fix anything using the "Memtest86 but this tool would test your RAM modules."
If something would be wrong with a RAM then this utility detects an error and it would mean that a RAM replacement is necessary.

Really sounds like a hardware problem the P100 is a new laptop and warranty should cover all replacements
Ask at the service of your country for replacement. Everything will be first to check the notebook and then you should get a new ODD (optical drive)
