Save a reader extended PDF form read-only

Prior to this announcement, I searched for hours in forums and the internet on how to get there, but I can't find the solution.

I created a simple form in Acrobat and saved with player so he can be saved by my colleagues in Adobe Reader, once informed extended attributes. The problem is now they need to send these customers but in an unbearable state. I don't know if this is possible, but I'm hoping for a simple solution if someone could help me, thanks.

Create a button somewhere on the form and add the following code to the mouse event to the top:

// Set these fields to read-only
getField("Text1").readonly = true;
getField("Text2").readonly = true;
getField("Check Box1").readonly = true;
// continue for any other fields

// Hide this button
event.target.display = display.hidden;

Use only the actual field names that you use in your form. Users should be sure to save as a new file, and I would say that they put the blank form read-only via the file system so that they don't accidentally overwrite it.

    Hello

    You can not buy the CERL component out of the web. As far as I know that you must contact the sales department in your geographic area and to determine which modules you want to buy.

    See here.

    I don't know if the trial here, includes the CERL component, if you have to pay an additional fee to Adobe for each form that is activated through reader CERL.

    I don't have a CERL, so cannot advise on the process.

    Good luck

  • Save as read only once signed

    Hi, on the older version of acrobat reader, I could edit a pdf and then sign only there and then once registered it would then create a dish read only files that could not be edited when sent to a client but I can't do that in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. Does anyone know how to do this? Thank you very much

    Hi fraserd33922496,

    Handwritten signature is possible in sign & filling tool, but it will not lock your PDF form in mode single player.

    However, you can add an image of your handwritten signature in the digital signature.

  • Is there an easy way to save a non-editable PDF form?

    Is there something like "Save as non-formulaire PDF" in Acrobat PRO? I have a form that I want to use, and then save as something that is simply not editable fields, PDF. Preference in a way that does not include complex things, because if this is the case, I would rather just create a document of word processing I can crank out print in PDF format.

    I should add: I tried "Clean up the document" but that transforms the content of pages in pixel-based images, and this isn't what I want.

    I should also add: I don't want to trust stuff like security, locking and this

    I should also add: the result should be a PDF file that is usable outside of Adobe apps (no Adobe PDF viewers)

    You can easily flatten the fields of the form, which converts the apparitions of field content page regularly. This can be done with preflight, PDF Optimization or the doc.flattenPages JavaScript method. The following free tool uses these and actually very simple: http://www.uvsar.com/projects/acrobat/flattener/

  • Photosmart 5510: Fill pdf form text only, not print boxes on my Photosmart 5510. How can I include boxes?

    I have downloaded a form of federal Government to fill, typed all the required information in the text boxes, presented in preview the document in the preview application Mac - no problem and print to my HP Photosmart 5510 all-in-one. The output text was fine, but no text box printed. The instructions accompanying the form indicates that the printed application must match the shape exactly that they will treat. The menu for the 5510 doen't show a print or documents and markup box dialog box to check. Any suggestions?

    I decided that the problem was not the printer but the program Apple prediction so I used the laptop HP from my wife to complete the form to fill out and print exactly as it is laid out on the screen. I constantly printing problems between my Mac and the HP printer so I now default to a PC for printing purposes.

  • No 'Reader Extended PDF' option in the XI player

    I sent a document by a potential employer who must be digitally signed with a certificate.  When I try to use the sign, all to certificate options are unavailable.  Check the properties of the document, I see that the signature is not allowed.

    Check elsewhere in the forums, it seems that the answer for reader XI is re - save the document using 'file-> save as other-> Reader Extended PDF', however, the only options I see under 'Save as other' are 'Text' and 'Word or Excel online.

    So, how can I activate the signature for this document?  I'll also have to create a certificate for it.

    I run free reader XI on Windows 8.1.

    You need Adobe Acrobat for that.

  • See the for all the PDF form scroll bar

    Hello

    Currently, on preview or when the form is embedded in a Web page, the scroll bar does not appear. I think it's because this PDF form has only 1 page. However, as the user can zoom in/out for PDFs embedded on Web pages, a scroll bar is needed. Is there a way to force the bar to scroll a PDF form to appear?

    Thank you

    Bernard

    Hi guys,.

    Found the solution.

    There is a property that disables the components (which include the scroll bars), i.e.

    event.target.viewState = {overViewMode:5};

    Therefore, delete this line of code will solve this problem.

    Kind regards

  • How to quickly save multiple files as Reader Extended PDF? Acrobat Pro XI

    I need to add form fields to fill out hundreds of existing PDF documents on a semi-annual basis.  In order to expedite this process I think I add all the pages in a PDF file, will create the fields in forms on a single page and then duplicate the forms to all pages.  It is very effective.  Then, I need to save each page in a separate Reader Extended PDF file.  If, after you have added and duplicate the form fields, I save the file with all pages as a PDF reader, then export the pages, pages will be saved in the standard PDF format for export.  Currently I have to manually save each PDF Reader Extended file by opening each file for each page, one by one, after it is exported and click file > save as other > Reader Extended PDF > activate tools more...  It would be extremely painful and long, and I have to assume there is a better way to get this done.  However, I have discovered an alternative method by browsing the forums and documentation of the software.  How can I export pages while preserving the file type of the parent document?  Or is there a better alternative?

    Activation with Acrobat Reader is intentionally a manual process, so it cannot be automated.

    The only other way activate Reader is with LiveCycle Reader Extensions, which is also available with PDF Java Toolkit of Datalogics, and these can be automated. Expensive but.

    Another approach is to convince your users to readers Reader 11 or DC, which can save forms not compatible player.

  • File > save as other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable commenting & measure GREY

    I have a PDF form created in Adobe LiveCycle Designer ARE 10.0.

    When I open in the player, all the 'Sign' options are grayed out.

    Under 'Properties' signature is allowed but is not the case with comments.

    Everything I saw, I hope that allowing comments will allow me to use the features of sign.

    The only solution I found on the internet is below:

    File > save as other > Reader Extended PDF > enable commenting & measure

    It is grayed out in my (latest version of) Acrobat pro.

    * Is at - it a way to make this option available? **

    * Even solve my problem? **

    * Is it possible that it is impossible to use these features on this document? **

    At this point, I spent about two hours on this issue and have not been able to find a solution. Very frustrated.

    Thank you.

    Comment is not allowed for dynamic XFA forms, but should be with static XFA.

  • Save the file to Reader Extended PDF

    I created a form in Acrobat 9 Pro for a customer using Reader 7 and they are unable to save the text that they type in the form... that is the whole point of the forms that they needs.

    I did some research and everything indicates that I must save my form as a Reader Extended PDF, but that is not an option during the backup of my files (and my form is closed for editing).

    The only options I have under Save as are the following: Adobe PDF files; Adobe PDF files, optimized; PostScript encapsulated; HTML 3.2; HTML 4.01, CSS 1.0. JPEG; JPEG2000; Microsoft Word document; PDF/A; PDF/E; PDF / X; PNG; PostScript; Text enriched; Excel spreadsheet tables; Text (Accessible); Text (Plain); TIFF; XML 1.0

    I am sure that there is something that I'm missing, and if someone could help me to point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful, as would my customer.

    Thank you in advance,

    Tiffany

    You need to go to advanced - enable usage rights in Adobe Reader, then

    Save the file.

  • Help!  End users with Reader only impossible to save the document that they fill out forms...?

    Hello and thank you in advance for your help!

    I have the full version of Acrobat 9 Standard, but I also have the trial version of Acrobat X Pro, in the hope that she would do what I need it to do.

    In my business, I have a 30 page document in PDF with form in all fields.  I send this form to my clients, and they fill it in, sign it and send it back.  I wish they were able to save the document so that they do not have to fill out the 30 pages together in one sitting, they can work on the forms for a bit, then reopen later.  So far, many of my clients have complained that they are unable to save the document at all.

    In addition, even if I'm here, I would also mention that I would like for these customers to put digital signatures on these documents rather than having to print, sign and scan or fax for me to hide.  I have white signature on the PDF in question, but I want to be sure that my customers end users having ONLY the reader can this sign digitally.

    Help?  Suggestions?  Thanks in advance!

    -BTM

    You must enable Extended Reader rights in Acrobat X Pro (file - save

    ACE - Reader Extended PDF - enable additional rights...) before sending the

    files of the users.

  • After filling out the forms to save read-only

    Hello.

    The designer I work with has created a PDF for me with editable fields.   I would edit correct modifiable with customer information fields, and then save the file read-only - or protected so that they cannot modify the fields.  Is this possible?

    Hi sheriomernik,

    Yes, you can implement some restriction of editing a file PDF using Acrobat application use security permissions to protect PDF files in Adobe Acrobat | Adobe Acrobat DC tutorials.

    Or you can simply ask the PDF Creator to add a signature field, once you fill & sign the PDF form it locks the PDF fields.

  • How can CD users save files as read-only PDF editable PDF after completing their?

    Hello

    We have users who use CD player and none of them are able to save regular editable PDF files, PDF files read-only. The only options that appear for the option Save as others are "text' and 'word or excel." In older versions, there is a PDF option here that allow them to record read-only. When you go to save as and recording it in pdf format, it is always editable. There is no other option to save it as Save a Copy as I've seen in other articles. Can you please tell me how this can be done? Thank you.

    Hi aprice.impact,

    Sign the PDF file use the certificate in Acrobat Reader ms (you'll find it under the Tools tab), to create a digital signature & sign the PDF.

    It will secure your PDF & restrict any changes.

    Kind regards
