Save a tool preset

Hello

When adding a new preset tool, Photoshop CS6 used to place your new preset in your panel presets toolp existing in alphabetical order.

Lately, in doing so, it stopped - he puts just the new preset at the bottom of the list, forcing me to go into the Manager of presets and then laboriously dragging the new preset from the bottom of the list in his position correct-classified in alphabetical order. Is not sound like a big deal to most people I don't know, but my list of tool presets has several presets of hundreds, maybe even more than a thousand. So you have to do every time I add a new preset becomes cumbersome.

My question is where this injustice comes from all go - it used to do automatically, but stopped somewhere along the lines. Anyone facing this problem?

In the tool preset menu (gear icon) you have 'sort by Tool"checked the?

  • Save as a "Preset" speed ramp?

    I have about 30 short videos about 5 seconds to each that I must apply a simple speed ramp.  I created something I like on a video of a good, but I was wondering if I could save this ramp/speed curve, so I can simply apply to all others.

    I tried to copy and paste, but this changes the timeline.  Is there another way?

    Thank you

    Save as a preset animation keyframes. I have no idea how you have created the "ramp speed" because you have not included any details of workflow, so I don't even know if a predefined animation would work. By example, if you have a layer fly as the time of the move, if you save an animation preset to position and apply it to another layer in another comp this layer at the top on the left and you will fly as in the top left.

    Give us a few details and maybe we can help you.

  • Question of tool Presets

    I'm trying to understand how to manage custom tools in Photoshop CC 2015 (latest version).

    Background: I got three .tpl files for a lynda.com course "Photoshop CS6 News: brushes."  Let's call them, X.tpl, Y.tpl and Z.tpl.  In the preset manager, I put the Preset Type = tools, then charged each of the files .tpl using the button load.  As each loaded file, the preset in the Preset Manager list grew. The list is in alphabetical order, while it was impossible to say what predefined have been newly added to each pressure on the Load button.

    Here's my question: in the preset manager and the tools Panel preset, the flyout does not display the predefined custom tools that I just loaded.  In other words, it does not display a X, Y and Z.  It shows only the predefined default settings.  If I want to delete one of the custom tool presets I just added (say those of X.tpl), the only way I can see to do is restore the default settings (drop-down menu-> reset the predefined tools).  But then I lose ALL the presets of X.tpl, Y.tpl and Z.tpl.

    Here's my question: How can I determine which tool presets comes from a given file (say X.tpl), and how to manage these presets independently of the presets added from a different file (say Y.tpl)?

    Because I couldn't find a way to make the inside of Photoshop, I looked in the Windows file system for where Photoshop can have stored tools built-in, thinking I could simply remove them.  But there are no files with the extension .tpl anywhere in [drive]: \Users\ [user] \AppData.  Clearly, Photoshop is hiding in a magical place.  Is it possible to manage the presets in this way?

    Problem solved.  I had put the .tpl files in the wrong directory.   After I moved into the correct directory...

    [drive]: \Users\ [Username] \AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2015\Presets\Tools

    ... and restarted Photoshop, I now see X, Y and Z menu drop down preset tools.

  • Is it possible to save the animation preset by script?

    Hello

    I wrote a script called memory, which save any layer of same model of layers for the generation later. https://github.com/Smallpath/memory

    A few days ago, I filled in the preview function and was ready to release it with tag v3.0. However, script can not get or set the value of special plugins like curve, particular and puppets, nor what to do my script Memory.I know these plugins can be saved as animation preset by click in Ae, but who needs the user to click, select the folder, enter a name for the preset and finally click OK, which isn't me.

    I really need to improve my script. So I wonder if there is a way to save the animation preset by script. Perhaps it may be a hidden such as CompItem.saveFrameToPng.Thanks, for any help method

    I work on the same idea and could not find all hidden for creatine presets modes.

    So I came up with this code:

    function newPreset(){

        var activeComp = app.project.activeItem;
        if(activeComp == null){ alert("Please, open composition."); return false;   }
        if(activeComp instanceof CompItem){ }else{   alert("Please, open composition."); return false;  }

        var selectedLayers = activeComp.selectedLayers;
        if(selectedLayers.length == 0){   alert("Please, select any layer."); return false;    }

        selectedLayers[0].effect(1).selected = true;
        app.executeCommand(23); // Select All
        try{ selectedLayers[0].layerStyle.selected = true;  }catch(err){}

        app.executeCommand(3075);   // Save Animation Preset

    };

    Hope that will help you somehow.

  • Why don't LR5 will save correctly user Presets in the export Module?

    I saw several other people post this question in this forum, but none of them got a response. I expect no better answer, but I don't know what else to try.

    When I create or edit a preset user in the export module exports the image properly, it does not correctly save the preset. I created a new Preset earlier, changed export it to hard, specified a specific output file, set the parameters of quality and resize it and checked the box to have give sharpening for screen. He created the jpeg format correctly, and it registered a new file in the correct location. But the preset file my settings was not in it. It's all default values, such as export to Email, size 500 px, no sharpening, etc.

    How can I fix it?

    Well, I thought about it, so I thought I'd share the answer for the next time someone runs into it. It turned out to be the sequence of steps that was the problem.

    I add me the new user preset, then setting the various parameters like I wanted, and then click Export. I assumed it would be to update the model and export the file, because it did not separate the button Save. Evil.

    The sequence correct, totally counterintuitive, is to open the dialog box export, do all the desired settings, THEN click the Add button to create the new preset. You don't even have to click on the export button. Close the preset add dialogue after giving it a unique name causes LR to save the new preset.

    So, there you go. I hope it helps someone.

  • How to fill out the selector tools preset?

    When I select the custom shape tool, the selector tools preset in the upper right is empty despite the fact that there is that a few dozen loaded Custom Shapes as can be seen in the preset manager. But how do these charged forms appear in the Chooser?

    If I go to flyout pickers pre-defined tool and select load preset tools and navigate to shapefiles .csh, they appear in light gray, IE, they can be open/load.

    With no form in the selector, I don't know any way to access the loaded Custom Shapes as seen in the preset manager.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Try the Menu help > Photoshop help.

    It can be downloaded in pdf format, too.

  • How can I remove a tool preset in the drop down list?

    I find the predefined tools so confused. I've created several toolkits and one I want to delete in the drop-down list. How can I do this?  I lost so much time trying to understand this. You are my last resort.

    Thank you!

    To remove all remove my Paint Tools.tpl file located in the Tools folder the slot location. You can also navigate to the folder the crib of Preset tools by selecting 'Load predefined tools', and then remove the .tpl file. You will need to restart PS to load the Preset change.

    Default memory

    The default location to save/load/replace the predefined settings depends on your operating system.

  • Undocking tool preset palette photoshop CC

    Hello community,

    is there a way to remove the palette of predefined tools (it - http://www.photoshopforphotographers.com/CC_2013/Help_guide/tp/Tool_Presets_palette/tool_p resets.jpg), an upper bar?

    It would save me a lot of time if the palette would be open and floating freely at any time - I usually make brushes customized for different projects and switch between them often.

  • How can I save my OnOne Presets downloaded for use in all of my catalogs in Lightroom 4?

    Downloaded and imported these Lightroom, PRESETS user presets but they ONLY WORK with a catalog (the one I downloaded in). How can I save them so that I can use them continually throughout my catalogs (future and past)? It drives me crazy (had the same problem with LR3). Read all the manuals that I could find and help online, but there is nothing about it.

    PS Also have a similar problem trying to save my "watermarks edition '. Having to repeat this whenever I export my photos.

    Preset in Preferences/settings / uncheck store Presets with catalog.
