Save as template in Captivate Mac?

Hi, I am using Captivate 5 for Mac so I'm a newbie. I can't find a way to 'SAVE-AS'.cptl. I don't give myself no format of choice on save - as the name, although I can create a new .cptl file. Also, I see not a way to apply a skin to an existing Captivate a new or other existing .cptx. My instructional designer, who is an experienced user of Captivate 4, gives me files to use for templates, but I don't see a way to turn them into real models that I can convey my Department as models. I feel like a total fool! I can only feel better if someone will direct to me the obvious button or menu that I'm missing. Thanks in advance.

In addition, as soon as I can do this, I would appreciate being pointed to a list of exactly what can or cannot be specified in a model of Captivate 5.

There is no magic button. Need not do anything.

In CP4, you were able to open a .cp file and save as .cptl.  This was the way it worked since version 1 to 4.

But Cp5 works the same way.  Cannot save a .cptx as a model .cptl file in Cp5.

The workflow is now file > new project > project template.  You start each new model from scratch.

I also find this annoying, but I think that it was done this way because Cp5 models carry a few built additional functionality which is not present in the normal .cptx files (for example the placeholders).  I hope we can get the old workflow re-instituted for COP6.

If your designer Cp4 uses always Cp4, he or she can turn them into files cptl, then send them to upgrade you them directly to the format of model of Cp5.

The other solution you can do in Cp5 is simply to create a new .cptl file in the same dimensions as your .cptx and then copy and paste the slides that you want in the model.  A little more work than Save As, perhaps, but at least that means so that you can end up with a template for future use file.

    I tested on our Mac 10.9 we have here and came with the screenshot below. Once the scan is finished, I held the CTRL key and clicking on (or if you have a two button mouse, you can just right click) on the analysis and got the drop-down list, you see at the bottom right and selected open in preview. Once it has opened in the preview, I was able to then click on file and save.

  • How can I save my Notes on my Mac?

    Hello. I wanted to disconnect from iCloud, but I got a message saying "If you stop using iCloud for Notes, notes stored in iCloud will be deleted from this Mac".

    So, before you do anything else, I would save my Notes on my Mac. Is it possible to do?

    And a follow-up question: if I do not support my notes, I would lose them if I disconnect from the iCloud?

    Note: I want to disconnect from iCloud because my Safari bookmarks become out of use when they synchronize with iCloud, and I thought that maybe if I sign out and sign back in icloud the problem would be fixed. At the moment I stopped synchronization of bookmarks with iCloud (unchecked this option of iCloud system preferences) and favorite seem to agree.

    Notes are already stored on your Mac. When you connect on iCloud, they will be removed from your Mac, but they will remain available in iCloud. To confirm this, log in to iCloud by using Safari, log in with your Apple ID, select Notes, and confirm that all of your Notes are present. Signature of iCloud on your Mac will not affect them.

    Although it is not terribly practical you can also save Notes by following the instructions here: copies of archives or to your iCloud - Apple Support data.

    In addition, if you use Time Machine, the contents of your folder on the iCloud drive (which is simply an alias in your user Mobile Documents library folder) is backed up with everything else.

    A very simple question. When I right click on my Windows XP Home Edition Office 'Save as template' - fifth option down - opens a "Save as", I have inserted the date in and pressed 'OK', where he recorded on?

    I use "Start Menu" not "Classic start menu" in "properties of the Start Menu and task bar.

    I'm also not too clear exactly what concerns this option 'Save as template '.

    I guess you mean the timeline? Since CP8 in beginner UI all panels

    are fixed and show when necessary. If you prefer to be able to move the panels

    around, make it floating, create workspaces customized, you must go to

    Expert user interface. Find the option in preferences, general must be able to detach...

    You will need to restart Captivate and lose two big buttons, properties

    and library. All panels can be opened in the window menu.

    I'm trying to convert an HTML file to a model. I get an error referencing L3 and column 7 and the absolute postion.

    I have not a clue as to what is the question.

  • Motion 5, how to save a template of the PCF as Project Builder?

    I am a user of Apple Motion 5. I don't have FCP since I'm only interested in entertainment.

    I downloaded a nice gift that after installation, stood under Final Cut generators in Motion 5. I try to open it, change some settings and save the result as a Motion project. However, I have found that I can just save it as a new model (which there still appears somewhere under Final Cut generators).

    Is it correct that I can't save it as a project of Motion? If this is not the case, correct, how to proceed?

    Yes, FCPX models are a very different type of project of Motion than a generic Motion.  They have different suffixes.  You want a .motn file.  Those of FCPX is .moef (effects), .motn (generators), .moti (titles), .motr (transitions).   Some of them have hidden the integrated structural elements that make their work as in FCPX and does not work as a generic Motion project.

    That said, you can get what you want.  Here are three tips:

    1 - Note that a generator of FCPX is the same suffix as a generic Motion project, .motn.  Just move it out of the Motion Tempates folder if you do not use FCPX.  You can get rid of the files "large.png" and "small.png", that they are only used in FCPX media browser previews.  Save the 'Media' folder if all is in it, and if so, keep the .motn file and the folder inside their original folder, together.  If the "Media" folder is empty, you can extract the file of project .motn by itself.

    2. you can start a new generic Motion project, open the FCPX template file, and then copy and paste layer objects in between.  That's what I do quite often.

    3. just as a tip, if you have a generic Motion project, in the file menu, you can chose to publish under a generator FCPX file.  But not to record a project generator FCPX a generic.

  • iCloud Drive - save the storage space on Mac

    is it possible to save space on my iMac with iCloud drive? For example, if I wanted to save all my pictures on iCloud drive but do not waste space on my mac hard drive, is this possible? I can have not only in cloud storage and not my Mac? I see no point to buy loads of space on iCloud and your iMac will not be able to accommodate it.

  • Bug report: save changes to geometry on Mac is broken (.) Fuse and create the preset of the agenda)

    As I mentioned previously, save changes to the geometry in a file .fuse on Mac did not work for hair and beard with a Brute and MaleFit of mounting configurations.

    Create predefined element and save the item selected in the form of preset are also similarly broken when you try to save changes to the geometry.

    Any chance your engineers can provide an ETA on a fix for this as not being is not in a position to save his work is a very big problem?

    As a work-around, I was hoping I could use 'Save selected item as new preset catalogue' (star icon) or create predefined element (menu).  Nope it's broken as well.

    No need to post pictures since you can test it in 30 seconds approximately:

    1. Choose default values of the Assembly MaleFit

    2. Choose hair (braid, step back... "I don't think it's important), change the geometry, 'Save as a preset point them' (the star icon) or 'Create predefined item' in the menu.

    3. Notes the thumbnail to your newly named item does not show changes.  Choose your preset mods and newly appointed geometry are lost and were not saved.

    4. save modded point character for. FUSE file. Reload.  All mods geometry are lost.

    Repeat for the gloves.

    Able to reproduce on the Brute!  Has made a few turns and looks like for example, much cannot be edited/saved on the Brute, but can be has made male.

    That depends: do you need to publish projects responsive or normal?

    A theme in Captivate is made (and I recommend this sequence) of all the styles object (including settings of default styles, the States of the buttons and the form buttons, settings for views of breakpoint in the case of projects of reactive), master slides (which will use object styles) and skin. Each theme can also switch to another palette of theme colors. I just blogged about the color scheme, which can also be used in different training Interactions. Most of the books/training just touch this topic very sparingly or omit, that I do not understand. I have printing is bound to have a book out very quickly, and the writers/trainers are not not developers.

    -Click on preview or add fields

  • Save as Adobe PDF question, Mac OS Lion

    Given that I've migrated to Lion (Mac OS 10.7.4) I get the error message of Automator:

    "Year error occurred while save the PDF file."

    I started from a blank disk installed and complete Lion.

    I installed my Acrobat 9 Pro dvd. Step by step, I've updated to 9.5.1.

    I have installed and updated all programs (and policies) of dvd or the website of the company.

    I tried to save in Adobe PDF format in all installed programs (office, Mail, Safari, VectorWorks, NisusWriter,...): same error.

    I fixed the permissions, I changed the permissions of read/write... Nothing helps.

    Save to PDF (not acrobat) works without any problem.

    I prefer to use Acrobat to generate the pdf files.

    In the past, I have used Acrobat 9 Pro as a printer (10.5) and via save as Adobe PDF format (10.6) without any problem.

    Suggestions?

    I did it again. I did exactly the same thing:

    I erased from my hard drive. I installed Lion (again). I installed Acrobat (again). I did all the 19 updates, one by a (new).

    Now it's working. Phew.

  • Save the forms editable on MAC - once saved problems cannot see the text when you click in the fields

    Using Acrobat 9 Pro, I created an editable PDF form that can be saved/printed using the reader.

    My clients can fill out the forms without problem, but when they save them and send back them to be transformed, the information they typed are no longer visible. You can view the information typed If you physically click in each field individually, but it does not automatically appear as I want to.

    It doesn't seem to be a problem with the clients using a Mac. Does make a difference if he clicks on SAVE or SAVE as?

    Does anyone have an idea what I can do to fix this?
