Save it as a .jpg in CS4 - spaces in file names turned to hyphens

I just upgraded to CS4 and have noticed that I can't save images as .jpgs with spaces in file names. Something is their conversion to hyphens. For example, if I try to save "my image - small.jpg", it ends as "my-image - small.jpg'.»»

I remember finding an obscure preference affecting somewhere in CS2, my previous version, which has fixed this. I think it's something tempting to maintain filename compatibility between operating systems, or for the web, or something like that. But I don't want - I want just good spaces in the names of my files!

I can't find the setting anywhere... can anyone point me in the right direction?

In the initial recording of the web dialog box, top right corner, click the menu drop down. Go to output settings. In the output setting, the menu "html" drop-down "saving files. Change the name of the file compatibility to zero.

Someone had a problem at the opening of the audio files in Audition CS5.5 with multiple consecutive spaces in file names?

I work with a client who has hundreds of audio files with multiple consecutive spaces in the file names which is Cool Edit Pro of Audition CS5.5 transition and is still in the trial period of the hearing. He claims that it was originally able to open these files for several days without problem, but suddenly he finds that when he double-clicked on one of these files, will open at the hearing, but the file will not be. No error; Hearing, behaves as if it was opened without specifying a file.

On the plus side, the files can still be opened in hearing through the "open" dialog box

If, as I suspect, no one has experience this problem due to their not not using multiple consecutive spaces in file names, it would be great if some knowledgeable person could rename a file or two to include these spaces and see if the problem occurs.

    Thank you

In fact, it's pretty easy to answer - there is absolutely no difference between the trials and complete - in everything related to at all, except the timeout at the end of the trial.

  • UCF.jar handles spaces in file names?

As far as I can see, is not:

This seems to indicate that the file "foo/foobar" is added in the zip file, but that ' foo/foo bar' is not.

Is this a known bug, and if so, is there an ETA for it fixed?

By the way: is there a way to determine the version number of the ucf.jar I have? "- version" doesn't seem to be available on the command line.

Yes, finally, to answer my own question:

The version of ucf.jar, dated December 2012 supports spaces in filename. At the time of the writing of this version is only available through the preliminary program. Version publicly, dated October 2012, does not support spaces in filenames. There is no known another tool provided by Adobe, that can be supplied from the command line to create packages of .zxp to the extensions Manager.

  • Download a pdf file, save, won't show the full name of the backup file when name contains a space, stop the name of the file.

Download a pdf file, the file name contains a space in the middle of the file. The name showing on the 'Save' popup is first letters up to space. Works fine on IE8. For example, a file named "old snail_12345.pdf" would show only 'old' (ignore the "s"). This is on Firefox 30.0, WinXP Pro.

Apparently, there is an extension to work around this problem. I have not tried myself. See:

  • Get the image of Excel as a form and save it as a .jpg

    Hello

I am fairly new to ActiveX and will have a hard time to do a seemingly simple thing: get an image named from an Excel file and save it as a .jpg file.  I've seen similar things for Excel chart objects, but as I understand it the images are "shapes" in Excel and I was unable to find the right method to extract a form. Please, if someone could look at the folder below and tell me if I am on the right track, if there is a better way to do it, or if there is a way to do it at all, it would be useful.  Note that I don't like not how effective a strategy - if I need to register in a middle of another type file, that's fine. The only goal is to be able to extract this image and save it with a click of mouse and without manual intervention.

Folder contains: 1 example Excel file containing the image named "picture 1"; 1 vi showing the method I found for the export of Excel graphs as .jpg; and 1 vi with the progress that I've done so far tried to get the picture of the Excel file and save it as a .jpg file.

    Thanks in advance!

  • help - problem with save for web when jpg image is placed in the file

  • Unable to save file... "file name" as a file not found error when you try to save in Photoshop CC

I am trying to create a new action in photoshop cc who takes a picture and replace the color and then saves it in a new file.  Once completed the action will convert the image in 21 files each a different color.  Ideally, I would like to save it as a jpg for each file and then the psd, but I got the error "file... cannot be saved to the file is not found" on the third file in.  I did some research and found that changing the psd to jpg could cause the problem, so I decided to create two different actions to achieve this.  In creating the action steps to create just the multi color of psd files, I got about 6 files in and got the same error.  After doing research a little more I found out that it might be my naming convention, so I've simplified that out of dashes, spaces, etc. and only could get 12 files in the next time, before I got the error.  So, I decided that I would split the colors in two series of different actions, but now I have this error each time even if just trying to apply to a single file and record do not.  Any idea on what's happened and how I can fix this problem?

One recourse would be difficult to create for a bit as it for actions cannot use logic. It would be difficult for an action in the name of the output file.  However, an Action could use the name of the document as save 21 documents with the same document name in 21 different localities.

You can also use a Script like image processor or one you can download Image Processor Pro as well as certain actions you create Doe you want. The script can do the thing in naming of file for you.

You can also create a document with 21 colored layers and save out as a PSD file and the next action step could serves the layer export file script The Action may appoint the color channels as it creates, I'm not sure what the file names will be him are exported. I guess something like Doc Name the name of the layer. I have never use the script, I know right there for use.

Edit that I just looked at the script it looks like you can not it batch because it has a dialog box and is not a Photoshop plug-in if recorded in batch Action script would be displayed the scripts dialog box and waiting for your interaction.

  • Why Firefox 3.6.12 truncates file names of attachments containing empty spaces (Windows)?

Whenever someone sends me an attachment and I save it, Firefox truncates the file name if the file name contains spaces. I'm under 3.6.12 under Windows 2000 SP4 now. But this problem persists for a long time, with the previous versions of Firefox and Windows XP. Unfortunately, I can't control the names of people send me attachments. For example, if someone sends me a file named "file name.doc" (without the quotes, of course), Firefox is the poster (via Micro$ oft Word a) or records as "file.doc". If I get 'door', that's how it is stored.

  • How does NOT save a file name extension?

    Hey everybody!

I have a script for Photoshop > > extension a bit > > I click on a button and the script save the .jpg file into a png (with extra stuff "of course") file in the same folder.

    Works like a charm...

But when it comes to the original file name: exemple.jpg

I get this png file name: example.jpg.png

I save the file name and path with this code:

    filePath = app.activeDocument.path + '/' + app.activeDocument.name; + '.png';

The goal is to get rid of the section '.jpg' the new file name.

I tried to save file name in a variable and then reduce the number of characters or even save it without the extension, but no luck.

    any ideas? !

    Thank you!

    var name = app.activeDocument.name;
    If (Name.indexOf(".")! = - 1) Name = Name.substr (0, Name.lastIndexOf("."));
    filePath = app.activeDocument.path + "/" + Name + ".png";

  • How to: save the image in multiple formats AND edit file names every time automatically?

    Hello!

First of all, I hope I'm not opening a discussion that has already been asked/Treaty. a lot. I couldn't find a solution to my particular problem until now in the web and I hope someone can help me.

I work with Adobe Photoshop CC 2015.

My problem is: I work a lot with product photos (whole/collage of several elements) and I want to speed up the process-saving in multiple formats (JPEG and PNG, sometimes TIFF as well).

The initial situation is: I have a main PSD file (to keep things clean and centralized) with several layers, each layer containing a different element. I need to check/uncheck layer visibility often, add/remove elements of collage to generate variants of game.

With every change that I agree (very minor steps), I have to go to SAVE AS... (Shift + ctrl + s)-> SET a format (JPEG, PNG, TIFF)-> EDIT file name (according to whole-variation [e.g. "Assembly-set01_lightbulb" / "Assembly-set01_lightbulb_cable" /...]---> save.) Fact.

And then REPEAT the steps together, define another format drop-down list, change the name of the file again (since the file original .psd remains without additions) and so on...

This process could his insignificant, but for me, when it comes to the variations set, consumes a lot of time, in particular, by taking changes in layers is a matter of 2 clicks.

So what I know: There is an option to automate the in some workflows. I can create an action, where hitting a predefined key, the original PSD is saved as JPEG and PNG. But that's all. No change of name of file or the destination can be performed (AFAIK).

Now what I want: I want to hit a predefined key, SAVE as... context-window, JPEG (...) is defined by default as defined format, I can modify the file name and/or ideally choose another folder to save to (...). Press enter-> the file is saved in JPEG format with the file name and alternative way edited. A new RECORD under... context window appears, PNG (...) is defined as the default format defined, I can still ideally to change the file name and press ENTER to find:

    -the original (unchanged) PSD file,

-a copy of this image to JPEG with file name changed (... _xxx.jpg) [in another folder path, if I wanted to.

-a copy of this PNG image with file name changed (... _yyy.png) [so somewhere else if I wanted]

All this with the push of a single button(-combination) and my entry to change the names of files.

Is it possible? I hope that my request is understandable and you could understand, what I want to achieve. The process itself is quite simple, but I have too complex concepts on how I want to maximize my workflow.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards, Phil

    Hi Phil,

This is something impossible in Photoshop as if now that the process you are looking for is very personalized and can be reached only in Photoshop.

The only way that you can save a JPEG and PNG file is by creating an action, and that's what you have already tried and does not give you an option to change the file name or destination location.

  • CS6 Pshop - alerts at startup; "All readable Documents" do not failing at opening; Format of file name not identical to the list of Format when you save the file

    Just downloaded CS6 Design Standard. System - OS10.6.8 (about to upgrade to 10.8), iMac 27 i5Intel 4core 12GBram clocked at 2.66 Ghz

Pshop opens, I get three alerts...

1 - Unable to load module e/s asynchronous activate because does not work with this version of Photoshop

    2. impossible to load the multiprocessor support plug-in because does not work with this version of Photoshop

    3. unable to load the module of FastCore Routines because does not work with this version of Photoshop

Then asks if I want to be connected to the internet or something like that. Then Pshop opens before even I click OK

None of them arrived with CS5.5

I realize that CS6 is 64-bit. I have fixed 32-bit because of the CS5.5 plugins.

Two questions, I've noticed so far with CS6.

    1. that I open a document, the Enable selection drop down at the bottom of the window is not set to anything. I always selects the Documents readable by all. Not the case in CS5.5, who was always default readable to all documents. Could not find anything in the Prefs to this question.

    2. When you save a document, RGB or CMYK, the drop-size selection are not accurate. The first three or four read properly correlated with the suffix (.jpg, .tif, etc.) in the name of the file at the top of the window. But then the selections later format below one third or fourth read than above the list.

for example: as a RGB file: economy through BMP indicates even in filename above (.bmp). However, the following below that, Gif, choice still shows as .bmp in filename at the top. And so on down the list. Even with the CMYK file.

    Never seen this in CS5.5.

When I initially installed CS6, I noticed that only items in the Plugins folder was folder Panels... without other plugins. I thought this to be an error in download of some sort and moved 5.5 database plugins to 6 Plugins folder. Could be the problem? Otherwise, I would have SOME plugins in CS6

I downloaded CS6 think twice now first has been altered. I used two download options on the Adobe - Akamai and standard page

Same questions at once. One country replied this to be a problem of plugins. I uninstalled 'after market' 5.5 and 6 SuperBladePro plugins was the only one. CS6 restarted. Still the same problem. Only the elements of Plugins are what came with the program.

Yes, I think that the problem is caused by putting the cs5 plugins in the folder plugins photoshop cs6.

Delete the plugins and cs6 should work much better.

The reason why you don't see the plugins in the plugins folder, it is that adobe installs all the plugins bundled with photoshop cs6 to the necessary folder inside the Adobe Photoshop CS6.app

and the empty plugins folder that you saw's plug-ins third as SuperBladePro.
